Today we explore BIG questions with Astrologer Emily Florence. Emily is an astrologer and natural healer specializing in helping people make sense of their struggles, embrace who they really are at their core, and tap into the wisdom of the stars to guide their lives.

Emily Florence had a background in natural healing, which set her on the unexpected path of Astrology. As she explored this new form of viewing the world and spirituality, she realized the influence of the planets on her life and decided to make a radical change.

She took the initiative to make changes in her life, and when Uranus moved through her first house, she switched from pharmaceuticals to natural healing. Emily Florence now views Astrology as a way to map her life, gain perspective on difficult times, gain insight into relationships, and better understand her wounds and insecurities.

A new beginning is written in the stars - unlock your path to personal growth with the power of astrology, flower essences, and healing.

"Historically, astrology was a way to see things that people couldn't see in themselves. It's like giving you a map of your life, so you know how to approach it."

In this episode, you will learn the following:
1. How astrology can be used to gain insight into your personality and emotional well-being.
2. The effect of seasonal transitions on the collective consciousness.
3. How flower essences can be used to heal emotional pain.

(00:26):
to have about this new life.
Hi, loves, we have such a treatfor you today.
We have Emily Florence with us.
She is an astrologer who alsospecializes in natural healing,
and she is here to teach us somany delicious things about how

(00:49):
we can make sense of our lossesand tap into the wisdom that's
all around us to help guide ourlives.
Is that how you would say it,emily?
Pretty much, yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Awesome well welcome.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
It's so exciting to have you here.
Well, thank you for having meTell us a little bit about
yourself.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
I have a background in natural healing and that's
actually what set me intoastrology.
It was kind of an unexpectedPlot twist.
Yeah, it really was, becauseyou know, i had gone in for my
health and was expecting it tobe more natural.
It was still very differentfrom what I had experienced

(01:29):
before, but it was so much morethan that.
It ended up being like learningabout different ways of viewing
the world and spiritualityastrology I was taught a little
bit of medical astrology, soastrology having to do with your
health.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
How am I just now learning that?
That's amazing.
I mean, a lot of my spiritualand healing journey has been
influenced by health relatedissues too.
Because of some health relatedissues, i leaned hard into yoga
and then in yoga, i learnedabout all these different
principles and ways of viewingthe world, like you're saying,

(02:07):
and it just all one step led tothe other.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
It was a really cool and interesting introduction and
then as an astrologer now I cango look back to that time
period and see why that was.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Because it was written in the stars, if you
will Pretty much.
Written in the stars, so thisis a bit so right, let's put a
little container around thisconversation.
So this is a big conversationabout is my life mine to choose
and direct, or was it allwritten in the stars?
It's a pretty big conversation.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Yes, it is.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
It is and.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
I would say the way we view astrology is maybe a
good way to say it, rather thanjust simply fate.
I mean, things leading up,these little choices that you
make every day leading up tosomething, and it just so
happens that you have thisrelationship with these planets

(03:05):
at certain times, i mean it justsort of like sparked this thing
in me where I just wanted tochange everything And so that
happened at this time, when theplanet Uranus was right on my
ascendant, and that's when youstart like new chapters of your
life.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Changing everything.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Uranus is exactly that, where it's like this
radical change, and so, as Isaid, the way I approached the
world was completely changed.
I went from taking likeanti-depressants That was really
more of what started me on thishealing path was actually like
using physical modalities, health modalities, to get off of

(03:52):
my anti-depressants.
It was the third time I hadtried and it was probably the
most difficult thing I couldhave done.
Like at least it was a.
You know that's a verydifficult thing to get off of,
especially like I wasn't sure, you know I failed or not.

(04:12):
I don't maybe want, don't wantto say failed, but like I wasn't
successful the first time I waspicking up what you're putting
down.
Yeah, And so I had to reallylike accept how to process my
emotions, like in my own way, because I was so used to
suppressing them that Uranus isthe planet of this radical
change And that like so forUranus to come at that

(04:37):
particular time like it was itwas a 2014, it just totally
changed how I was And so that'show people like view me too, so
it's kind of radical like for meto do pre and post everything
natural from a time when I wasdoing everything you know
pharmaceutical beforehand, likeeven, even just I actually

(04:58):
haven't touched a pharmaceuticalsince.
So that's just how radical thechange, Yeah, Wow.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
So so we do have some autonomy, in that we make chase
choices every day, and alsothere is much that is already
written in the stars, and thenwe get to decide whether or not
we find that alignment orwhether we resist, would you?

Speaker 2 (05:21):
I like that way of describing it.
Yeah, because there's there'sthis aspect of free will.
It can be with difficulttransits, which are you know,
we'll just say it this way.
So you've got your natal chart, your birth chart, which is the.
You know, the moment you wereborn, the stars, the planets
were aligned a certain way Andthat's what you carry throughout

(05:42):
your life.
That's your static chart.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
And is that is that part of when we think of human
design and we can look up ourhuman design based on our birth
time and gene keys.
We look it up based on ourbirth time like this is all
inter or overlapping, yeah, okay, so we have our natal chart,
okay.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
Yeah, And then the transits would be how the
current skies, how the currentalignments are affecting that
chart.
So it was a transit.
the transit of Uranus movingthrough my first house was what
catapulted this big change in mylife.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
And so by transit you just mean planets moving in the
sky.
Yeah, they're transiting, yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
And how it's moving in my own natal chart.
Yeah, So these can be difficultand there can be ones that are
really beneficial, ones that arereally helpful and hopeful.
So you, even if you have abeneficial transit like Jupiter
would be the planet of, you knowoptimism of usually good,

(06:53):
beneficial changes in your life, but there's still, there's
still ways that you can, youknow, sort of maybe I wouldn't
say you're ever like unlucky tospeak during those transits, but
it's more like you can takemore advantage of it rather than
less, if you actually know.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
If you know what's going on.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
Yeah, Yeah, So you're able to take better advantage
of something good And alsoyou're able to kind of navigate
your life just more according tolike what's kind of like what
energies are kind of workingmore in your favor and which
ones are kind of working againstyou So you may have more
resistance and you can.

(07:36):
It's kind of like giving youthis map to your life.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
Really love that.
So we had kind of a giggleabout that when we touched base
on Friday about you picked todaybecause of where we are
astrologically.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
Yeah, so it's today, it's more so the end of the day.
So by the time people listen tothis, it will definitely be,
you know, full full In play.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
Okay, tell us, tell us what's unfolding.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
Well, we have the screen equinox today, and that
means, astrologically speaking, that's when the sun moves into
Aries, and so Aries is all aboutnew beginnings.
It's the you know, it's theinitiator, it's the courageous
one, the warrior, theindependent one, and so moving

(08:23):
into Aries means that we'restarting the astrological new
year.
This is also, you know, interms of Western astrology.
It's we're going off of theseasons, So the start of each
season is a really criticalpoint in astrology, and so it's
like it's very much tied tobeing more, more in tune with

(08:44):
nature.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
With the nature, yes.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
And the start of our astrological year is in spring,
when things are actually comingto life, makes a lot of sense to
me, versus like in winter, whenthings are dying.
This is like just it'sintuitively makes sense.
And so we have each season andthen it's broken down into there
are three zodiacs within thosezodiacs Those seasons.

(09:10):
Yeah, so it's seasonallyspeaking too.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Love that.
So I asked you this questionearlier in the week.
but in my experience of thispast week I've already felt kind
of what I would call some Ariesenergy.
I've already been tapped intosome like big, courageous stuff.
What would you say to someonewho says, well, you know, i hear
you, but what if how I'mexperiencing life doesn't line

(09:39):
up exactly with what thecalendar says?

Speaker 2 (09:42):
Well, there are.
There are certain things in thesense that other planets can be
in the same sign.
So we had Jupiter in Aries andthat's a much longer transit.
So people might have beenfeeling just more, more boldness
.
Just, you know, especially thepast, the past several months,

(10:03):
so, but even more more recently, you know, there's Venus into
Aries, there is Mercury intoAries just a couple of days ago.
Mercury is the way we speak, soif people start, for the next
few weeks, getting into gettinginto, maybe, arguments, because
they're like a little, they're alittle blunt, they're going

(10:25):
like a little too quickly withtheir words, and not really
thinking so much about what theother person is thinking, and
you know how they'll react to it.
So so that that's, that's onething to say about that.
But the other thing too is somepeople, particularly if they
have more, maybe more, water intheir chart, they're more

(10:48):
sensitive and, you know, justkind of can feel and intuit
things or like energies, beforethey So I'm a Gemini and that's
an air sign, but you're sayingit's possible that if you pulled
my natal chart, that theremight be other water influences
that could influence my abilityto intuit.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
That's so interesting .
So what I really want ourlisteners to hear is that so
much of what they'reexperiencing and perceiving is
purposeful.
There's a reason.
Yeah, whether it's you know, written in the stars or you know
, their souls calling, likethey're like, we are always
feeling and sensing things for areason, and the and astrology
gives us a major tool to betterunderstand and validate Right,

(11:32):
what we're experiencing.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
It does, It really gives us context If you went
through something reallydifficult.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
There actually is this feeling of like relief that
there was, like there was areason that you know through
this you know, and I think somuch, our listeners are
obviously going through a majortransition, and so much grief
and so much of what hangs themup in the post of worse phase is

(12:00):
why.
Why did this happen or whywasn't I enough?
And so what you're offering ustoday is another perspective on
why Yeah?

Speaker 2 (12:12):
Yeah, perspective is a huge thing, like what I even
noticed with astrology as I waslearning.
It was like the water signs andthe water houses, particularly,
you know, speaking to theeighth and the 12th houses,
which would be affiliated withor associated with Scorpio and

(12:32):
Pisces.
These two signs have a lot todo with endings and losses, but
on the other side of that issomething new, something like
exciting and something new doors, new doors to walk through in a
new chapter.
So, for instance, scorpio signof endings is.
The next sign is Sagittariusand Sagittarius is the most

(12:56):
optimistic sign of the zodiac.

Speaker 1 (12:59):
So producer Joy from our podcast is a Sagittarius and
she is happily named Joy.
right She is.
She is Joy, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
I love that.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:09):
We've had a lot, a lot of stuff happening in Pisces
recently which is like thissign that is probably the most
difficult to describe because ithas to do with the mystical
side, the spiritual side, letting go and a lot of release,
and it can be grieving, it canbe loss, it can be having these

(13:33):
feelings of shame or guilt anddisappointment because it's the
last sign.
It's almost like it's likereflecting on everything that
came before And we're coming tothis point, this last point,
where we just becoming morespiritually connected and
thinking less about maybe eventhe material world.

(13:53):
Right, because this is muchless about materials And it's
more about the collective, it'smore about compassion.
But it can be really like, itcan be pretty heavy, it can
bring a lot of emotions still.

Speaker 1 (14:11):
Well, it's Pisces, it's a water sign, right?
So tears, grief, tears, tears, tears, water, water, water, yeah
Also this lack of clarity?

Speaker 2 (14:19):
And when we move into Aries, it's a fire sign,
another fire sign.
So Sagittarius is fire.
So when we're moving into thefire, it's like there's there's
fire, there's more, there's likethis, you know moving forward,
and so it's, it can bring someexcitement.
It brings, you know, with Ariesit's like it's our direction,

(14:42):
it's our individuality, it'sbeing able to carve our own path
And you know that's such a bigaspect of, i guess, importance
when it comes to grieving theloss of a partner.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
Yes.
You know, and reclaiming youridentity again.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
Yeah, And so people who have been through you know
breakups or a divorce.
So Aries is opposite the andthe first house is opposite the
seventh house And the seventhhouse is associated with you
know.
So this is the, this is thehouse that is associated with

(15:24):
everything, libra.
So these are polarities Ariesand Libra.
And Libra is is relationships,is everything with balance And
so being the opposite you knowof of Aries being independent.
So it's it's I and and me andAries versus we.

Speaker 1 (15:45):
Thou.
Yeah, so this is a season ofreally leaning into
self-expression.
Yep, aha, okay, bam, you can'tTake it too.
Yeah, it's amazing, yeah, soit's so intriguing this idea of
being able to look at my chartand look at, honestly, the
houses are beyond me.
I have not wrapped my headaround that, right, but I've
never had my chart looked ateither.

(16:05):
So we had a brief chat aboutthat.
That's something we have toremedy, but I feel intimidated
about that.
Can you speak to that?
Have you had people say, likewhat, if it's terrifying to look
at this almost predictive tool?

Speaker 2 (16:19):
That's a very good point, i mean.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
What if I don't want to know?
What if I only think I want toknow?

Speaker 2 (16:25):
Well, here's the thing, and this is where we're
talking about.
Is it faded Or are thereaspects of choice?
And so the way I approach it isI never would.
Someone came to me and they hadcertain things about a breakup.
I wouldn't see it as thisrelationship is ending And I

(16:48):
wouldn't be making thatassumption and telling a person
that ever It's more like thesewould be times where you need to
really evaluate yourrelationship.
It's all in how you approach it, because, at the end of the day

(17:09):
, i'm not omnipresent.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
I don't know what's happened.
You're not the boss.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
Yeah, i'm not going to tell you, hey, you're going
to get divorced at this time Andyou're going to go through a
breakup at this time.
Like I don't have that ability,i don't want that ability
either.

Speaker 1 (17:28):
But anyways before being.

Speaker 2 (17:31):
I can direct someone towards this.
This could be a time where youneed to start working on this
aspect of your relationship, because there are times that
would be more difficult where, let's say, the planet Neptune is
involved And there could bethis confusion People aren't on

(17:55):
the same page, they're notunderstanding, they're not
communicating very well.
Something might be a littlejust, mysterious or behind
closed doors Like, maybe likeUranus we had described where
it's like you need more freedom,And so there is this element in

(18:16):
the relationship.
There is a lot of togetherness.
It's all about us.

Speaker 1 (18:23):
And then maybe you call for space.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
Yes, it's never just like boom And then something
happens Like there's alwayssomething that leads up, like
it's always going through thisstory.
You always want to see it ascrafting this story, as opposed
to just like definitive headsand yeah, exactly Yeah.
there's always like littlethings that lead up to it.

Speaker 1 (18:49):
So the intimidation that I feel about looking at my
chart would really be me justkind of being susceptible to
feelings of helplessness, whenreally it's just like you said,
it's the context to add, to havethe insight, to have maybe a
greater awareness of what'sgoing on around me, within me.
Yeah, ok, ok, so tell me howsomeone so, for instance, in my

(19:16):
own story, when I started tocome to some of these kind of
alternative ways of seeing theworld, there was a lot of shame
and fear I had to work throughbecause the religion I grew up
in kind of had something to sayabout it.
Right, like that it's I don'tknow, not holy or something, and
so what would you say to theperson that's like I don't know?
is this really true, and howdoes this square with my faith

(19:39):
practice?

Speaker 2 (19:40):
That's a good I mean, that's a good question.
I don't see it religiously atall personally, but I'm not the
most religious person.
Astrology, really like it, saysso much about your psychology
as well as your personality, andI would even say you know that

(20:00):
astrology is more like Likeunderstanding your enneagram
style or your human design.

Speaker 1 (20:06):
Oh, it's so much more .

Speaker 2 (20:07):
Yeah, so I would say so much more than enneagram.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
OK.

Speaker 2 (20:11):
It's just more complex.
Design is a whole other systemthat.
I think is astrology.
But as far as astrology goesit's like it kind of you could
say that it was like psychologybefore psychology became more
popularized and more.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
I see Yeah.

Speaker 2 (20:35):
It was definitely a way to see things that people
couldn't see in themselves.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
OK, ok, that makes a lot of sense to me.
And so then somewhere inWestern culture, the rise of I
don't know medicine or whatever.
We kind of lost touch with it,maybe lost touch with the stars,
kind of guiding us andunderstanding ourselves better.

Speaker 2 (20:59):
It's kind of a difficult question.
I'm not going to lie, becausethe church had influence over
astrology And so the church had.
They took a stance A good thingabout astrology It just depends
on what you're open to.
If it doesn't resonate, thenit's not for you.
Let it go, aha, but sometimesresonance feels like dissonance.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
Sometimes, when something feels dissonant, it
needs a second look What shameor what guilt or what fear might
be activated that's causingthat dissonance?
I had this really interestingconversation over the holidays
with a family member whoreferenced the farmer's almanac
And this was a religious familymember, right, someone who, but
the farmer's almanac, leansheavily on astrology.

(21:47):
And farmers, i would think, areprobably pretty traditionally
religious.
Also, that's painting with abroad brush.
I totally just labeled a wholegroup of people, but it was
really interesting to me to hearthat this tool that our farmers
have been using for gosh knowshow long uses astrology to help

(22:07):
plant their crops and to knowwhen to plant and when to
harvest and when to protectagainst whatever's coming,
because it's written in thestars.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
Yeah, and there's a long history of herbalists in
particular that use astrology, and especially the older and
further back you go, the moremeticulous they were about very
perfectionistic.
I will only plant this cropunder this particular moon phase

(22:39):
.

Speaker 1 (22:40):
I have read that in my very fancy homeopathy book,
the Materia MetaCa.
I've read that or somewherethat some of the preparations
were done under specific moonphases And that's kind of an old
way.
It's very interesting And Ithink it feels very far away
from us today.
It feels like how much of thistruly, truly applies to me,

(23:01):
emily, like really.
But then I stop and I say well, the moon causes the entire
ocean to move.
So there's that.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
There is that exactly , and we know the influence on
emotions too like a full moon, and there tend to be some wild
things that happen on full moon.
There's definitely a historywith farming, agriculture
overall, herbalism and astrology, and in the Middle Ages they

(23:33):
had to learn astrology in orderto be a doctor, so it has an
interesting history there.
That is very interesting, yeah, and even that it said that that
Rx for prescription comes from.
it's almost like a signing offof.
I've read the horoscope of thisperson.

Speaker 1 (23:53):
You're kidding me.
When someone writes Rx forprescription like that, we see
in pharmacy signs and whatnotthat that comes from that Middle
Age astrological practice.
Wow, things we didn't know.
we didn't know.
So astrology is woven into thelens of popular culture.
We like to read horoscopes andwe know what our signs are and

(24:16):
we maybe are playful with it,but in all honesty, when we're
going through these really heavyperiods, it's a beautiful tool
to help us really understand andmake sense of the path that
we're on.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
Yeah, and I think the problem that people, when
they're really skeptical, theproblem that happens, and
usually it has so much to dowith the fact that they only
know their sun signs.

Speaker 1 (24:43):
Say more about that, because I'm clueless.

Speaker 2 (24:45):
You know, if you generalize the entire population
in 12 zodiac signs like that'snot really that complex.
It's not like it doesn'tdescribe how different we are as
people, but the astrology chart.
it speaks to how you appear topeople, how you approach life,

(25:08):
how you think, how you speak, how you relate to other people,
what your emotions are like andwhat you need, what you desire
in life.

Speaker 1 (25:20):
All of this is Like you're like this study Is
recorded in our natal chart.
all of this.

Speaker 2 (25:28):
Yeah, i guess you mentioned spirituality, so
spirituality is a part of thischart too.

Speaker 1 (25:33):
Are these also the houses that you were referencing
?
So we have a sun sign, a moonsign.

Speaker 2 (25:40):
You have a sun sign.
You have a moon sign.
Your Venus is in a certain sign.
Your Mars is in a sign.
You know it's going all throughthe planets.
There's Chiron, and this is thewounded healer.
This will tell you where youhave wounds and insecurities and
pain.

Speaker 1 (25:59):
Chiron and I, we're rider-diamond.
We really have a deepunderstanding of one another.

Speaker 2 (26:09):
Yeah, i mean it's where you maybe feel abandoned
And it's you know, there's justand it's with the mythology
Chiron never actually, he neverhealed himself, but he was able
to heal other people.
So there is this element ofwoundedness that really refers
to how our entire lives we havesomething to heal.

(26:33):
We're never just like.
We have this Like.
So when you go let's say, someone goes and looks up their
Chiron after listening to thisinterview, you're not going to
just, you know, go approach thatand heal that within the matter
of a year.
You know this is throughoutyour life.
It's just something that youkeep working on throughout your
life.

Speaker 1 (26:53):
You know, i was really noodling on that this
morning because so many folksthat I've worked with in the
course of my career are in sucha rush to heal.
And I relate to that on acertain level too right, i think
a little bit.
I enjoy the ride because it'sso of me, like it's my calling
right As a healer.
So when I hear people in a rushto heal, it really kind of

(27:17):
eclipses our ability to knowourselves on this deeper level.
It like eclipses our ability tofind alignment, to really live
in joy consistently, sustainably.
So, rather than being a rush, you know, the thing people say
to me is I told myself I wasn'tgoing to cry in session today.
Well, why would you want to notcry in session unless you were
in a hurry, right?

(27:38):
And so when we just kind ofaccept that healing is going to
be an ongoing part of my journey, then I have this opportunity
to really find alignment andconsistent joy and consistent
ease, even when thecircumstances suck.

Speaker 2 (27:56):
Yeah, because I've known, i've known about my car
on for at least several years orso And it's like, yes, it's
definitely definitely still anongoing thing that I need to
work at.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
Steps in and out, in and out.

Speaker 2 (28:09):
Yeah, but you know it's just.
But then there's like there'sso much beauty in it too,
because we're looking at this,it's in a sign, but there can
also be planets that areinteracting with this chiron as
well.
So for me, my mercury isconjunct chiron and it's in Leo,
and so myself, expression andalso my communication, so doing

(28:34):
podcast, the fact that I get onvideo and record podcasts and
forecasts, like that's a verybig deal for me.
So it's like it's like it'ssomething that I've had to
really work at.
It's something that I've had toreally sort of kind of get over
myself and just like putinformation out there, because

(28:55):
there's the healing component ofit.
Mercury chiron conjunction canalso be healing words for other
people as well.
So it's an important part of myprocess too, and just even as
part of you know, chiron wouldbe like associated with
astrology as well.
This chiron placement isforming a trine, which is a good

(29:18):
aspect to my ascendant.
So how people view me is myascendant And so having that
placement, you know, is meantfor me to be speaking.

Speaker 1 (29:29):
It shows you where to push yourself or challenge
yourself or to grow throughsomething.
100% Aha.
So just you being here with ustoday, is you using your chart
to really step into, like yourauthentic?

Speaker 2 (29:48):
Yeah, because I was always like the quiet person.
You know I would be like thequietest person in the group,
but it's funny because it's likeI'm the loudest person on the
microphone or my camera phone.
So, yeah, it's just coming fromthat place of being really shy
and not feeling like I hadanything to say and then like

(30:09):
growing into this.
Like you know, this is, i canuse my voice as an expression.
So, leo, being the selfexpression, i use my words
through that.

Speaker 1 (30:19):
Wow, that's amazing.
So we talked about a fewepisodes back about is this
anxiety or is this intuition?
And I think that it's easy forus to get bogged down in, you
know, not knowing what to do ina certain situation.
Which path do I take?
Which action do I take?
Can I trust myself?

(30:40):
so much of a post-divorce worldis learning to trust yourself
again Before you can evenconsider trusting other people.
So what I'm hearing you say isthat if I really have an
in-depth understanding of mychart, it can help me make hard
decisions when I feel veryconfused and I don't know if I
can trust what I'm seeing, whatI'm experiencing.

(31:01):
the voice that's inside of meis that my mental chatter?
or is it my gut telling me, hey, you need to take this leap or
leave this thing, or whatever?

Speaker 2 (31:13):
Yeah, totally, You know.
another thing too that Ibrought into my astrology
practice is the use of floweressences.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
Oh, so this I've heard of in homeopathy.
Would you call flower essenceshomeopathy or is it something?

Speaker 2 (31:31):
different.
They're similar.
Okay, They're definitelydifferent.
Yeah, so flower essences don'thave those.
They're not used in differentpotencies.

Speaker 1 (31:42):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (31:43):
So flower essences are more so specified towards
emotions.
Okay, so they can help you on aphysical level, but that's
usually if the case would be ifyou're holding onto an emotion
so much that it is like It'scausing disease Issues.

(32:04):
So it can ultimately help onthat level, but it is a little
similar to homeopathy.
It's because we're working withenergetics here, and so this
but rather than this is amedicine that, rather than
having a biochemical effect, this is working with, it's

(32:27):
working on a more vibrationallevel.
So think of it as like you'rean out of tune guitar and-.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
I love that.
So a flower essence isliterally made from the essence
of a flower.

Speaker 2 (32:41):
Yeah, and so, depending on what I need, Yes,
You're taking a bowl of waterand the petals of the flower,
you're putting it into exposingit to sunlight And you have.
You're kind of, you're justlike you're capturing.
You're capturing that imprintof the flower and that's what

(33:03):
you're utilizing, And it wasactually a very interesting time
that.
So the most popular floweressences are the Bach remedies.

Speaker 1 (33:14):
And.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
Bach in 1930, i believe was when he had this
system of taking these, becauseflower essences had been around
for a while, but flower essencesspecific to different emotional
states, and this in 1930 wasright around the time that I

(33:35):
mean think about the tumultuoustimes.
Sure, at that season in a world.
The Great Depression And Ithought it was kind of.
I thought it was pretty epicthat he had this system of
working with people's emotionsAnd he's most known, even for 38

(33:57):
different essences, but hiscombination of five flower
essences called the Resky Remedy.
So these are for like, whenyou're in like a crisis, so you
can go find, like the Bach ReskyRemedy.

Speaker 1 (34:14):
I've seen these at Whole Foods.
Yeah, wow.

Speaker 2 (34:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:19):
So the tool people could start using today.

Speaker 2 (34:21):
Yeah, 100%.
I look at people's charts andtheir transits and that's how I
am able to at least get theinitial essences.
But I also want to, you know, consult with them and like, see
like what's actually going on,to get more information.

(34:41):
but emotions are kind ofpresenting.

Speaker 1 (34:44):
So, after reading someone's chart, you could,
based on having a conversationwith them, recommend a specific
remedy of flower essence thatwould help support their current
struggle.

Speaker 2 (34:57):
Yeah, and I will say a few just right off the bat.
If we're dealing with a breakup, well, starb Bethlehem is
something that people could takeif they have that initial shock
.
There's that sort of like youknow, like it's hard information

(35:18):
to process.
That's a really good one fortrauma.
Another one, reading an X,would be bleeding heart.
That's really good for breakups.
And you know, another one wouldbe Holly, and Holly is one that

(35:45):
you have so much pain and angerand hatred where you just you
lose trust of others.
I mean, it's usually directedat this particular person, but
it's like it can be like othersas well, and yourself, even
though Holly tends to get thisif it has nothing to do with a

(36:05):
breakup.
In particular, these feelingsof hatred or even jealousy can
come from a period of time whereyou're not around people, so
you start to kind of like losetrust because you have enough
exposure.

Speaker 1 (36:21):
Aha, like if you've been isolating.
I see, okay, wow, game changingrecommendation, thank you.
So let's say I reach out.
I say, okay, emily, i need toknow more.
What's it like from the pointof making contact with you?
Like, what happens next?
What happens in a chart readingRight?
Like, what do you do whenyou're working with people?

Speaker 2 (36:43):
It depends on what they're, what they're coming for
, if they're new and they'regetting a natal chart reading,
i'm essentially expressing likethe core of who they are and
some people, just that in touch, yeah, in touch, in touch with
that.
You know some people they're,you know they have.

(37:04):
It's kind of like opening thedoor to a self-reflective
process.
And so you know, and I think Iwill give the challenges that
you may be facing, and also likeyour gifts they could be more
hidden, even hidden gifts I cantell them about how they are in

(37:27):
relationships, the type ofperson that they're likely to
attract and the type of personthat they might need you know
more.
So in a relationship, i cantell them about their career and
in a transit reading it's alittle bit more specified
towards like a period of time.

(37:48):
So what can you expect for thenext six months, or six to
twelve months?

Speaker 1 (37:57):
I see.
So if I was coming to you formy natal chart, you give me like
the foundation, like the corestuff of who I am.
And then, let's say, i book afollow-up appointment because I
want to have a deeper sense ofwhat's going on for me now, or
what's been going on from here, what's going to be unfolding for
me.

Speaker 2 (38:14):
Sure, yeah, another way to, if you're like me so I'm
a cancer, i'm very much likeinterested in the in the past
too, so you can get transitreadings.
You know a mix, you know.
Maybe you want to look and lookahead, but maybe you want to
look and reflect back onsomething in the past.
So it like it.

(38:35):
That really helped me to goback into the past and let go
make sense growing on at thistime.

Speaker 1 (38:43):
Yes, wow, that is so cool.
Fun fact, i have a lot ofreally great cancers in my life.

Speaker 2 (38:55):
Yeah, definitely more definitely more of the
sensitive type and more of astory, and you know it's a, i
think it's definitely.
I have a lot of cancer in mychart.
It's definitely what gives mepretty strong intuition, so like
kind of feeling things before, before they happen.

(39:15):
And it's funny because cancerrules the stomach and so you
know, it's like trusting yourgut.

Speaker 1 (39:23):
Super cool.
So you know, there is justclearly, in talking to you,
there's just so much to knowabout all of this and I know one
of the things that's helped me.
Maybe you have some additionalinsight but one of the things
that's helped me is just to seeit as like okay, i'm just gonna
kind of learn as I go.
Right.
I, i have always just kind oftaken the like okay, i'm a
Gemini, whatever you know.
But last year I really wentthrough a powerful spiritual

(39:48):
awakening I don't know what elseto call it right.
It really was inward, and theInstagram handle Moon Omens came
into my feed somehow and I juststarted digging deeper and I
already was collecting crystalsand I already would use sage in
my therapy practice in myenergetic healing spaces and had

(40:08):
singing bowls, so like I hadbeen dabbling right.
But then all of a sudden I'mlike okay, now I'm gonna dig in
and I bought books and acalendar and I started to really
just kind of looking at what'sgoing on and feeling like do I
feel this, do I not feel this?
and I just can hear how muchthere is to learn, but just kind
of looking at it as a journey.

Speaker 2 (40:29):
Yeah, yeah, totally.
I mean, i've learned.
I've learned from teachers,i've learned from books, i've
learned from podcasts, but I'vealso learned from my experiences
.
So, just like I think, as wewere speaking, you know, last
week I had said, you know, oneof the things you could do if
you're brand new to this is just, you know, think about the
season that we're in.

(40:50):
So I described, we had the, wehave the four seasons, but then,
broken down, we have three miniseasons and that's zodiac sign.
So we've got the very beginningof spring, which is Aries.
You know you could take the,you know the month, the like 30
days, and just reflect and justsee, like you know, you go look

(41:11):
up what is this sign, you know, and what is this sign, and
throughout the year, and giveyourself time to, because you
know it's, it's, it's not justgonna like sink in immediately,
but the way I did it was justlike, okay, what you know, what
kind of quality is in my, in myfeeling, during this time.
You know, it's just a simpleway of of experiencing it.

(41:31):
And the same thing for mooncycles, the same thing for you
know, if someone were to give aforecaster, even just read your
chart.
It's one thing to to talk aboutthe energies, but how it
specifically comes into yourlife is a little bit of
experience you know, when youhave, you can have that visceral

(41:54):
feeling and that is the trueknowledge of astrology.
You can do, you can do as muchforecasting, but it just it hits
you on a totally differentlevel when you actually
experience, when you experienceit and when you talk about
certain aspects of this, youjust light up like I just see
like your confidence and yourlight shine through and it's so

(42:16):
cool.

Speaker 1 (42:16):
you could just tell how passionate you are about it.
Thank you, yeah.

Speaker 2 (42:22):
It's something that like it felt like it fell out of
the sky when it startedclicking.
It just really started clickingand I think, once I realized
that I had to have some of thislike real life experience with
each of these you know transitsthat's when it just like you
know cemented.
Yeah, exactly it.

(42:42):
just it was just like well, youknow, i keep proving myself
right in this way, where it'slike you know I had I was very
skeptical, uh huh.
It took me a very long time tocome around to this, to be
honest, but it's through thepersonal experiences that I'm
just like well, that's, you know, i think there's.

(43:03):
there's an astrologer I can'tthink of his name right now.
He calls it astrology good, where, even if it's this, even
if it's like something like notgood, like.
Negative and bad, like he callsit astrology.
Good because it's just so like,it makes so much sense point.

Speaker 1 (43:23):
Astrology good, i like that.
Have you seen that meme?
I love a good like Therapy memeor spirituality meme, right,
but the one that's like, well, the moon isn't full and nothing
is retrograde.
Oh, it's me So used tosometimes call it painful things

(43:44):
to do with.
Yeah, what's?
you know?
something's in retrograde.
The moon is up to something, yeah.

Speaker 2 (43:49):
I know it is funny and and On the same, no, i do
you know, for as much as we canfeel into the, the energies and
the source of kinds of events, you know, because there there
are astrologers that are verygood with going back into
talking about these differenttimes in history, and it's kind

(44:11):
of like What it reminds me ofWhich, if people aren't familiar
with astrology, like thinkabout how, you know, for the
stock market or for, like, theeconomy, there are different
cycles, that I go, and so in away It's kind of like that
astrology is kind of like that.
It's like we look at, we lookat the past and what happened

(44:32):
around this time and it canbring some not exact But similar
types of events.
No, is it so we're finding thatcorrelation and how it?
you know it's gonna lookdifferent.

Speaker 1 (44:47):
We would each cycle Mm-hmm.
Yeah, totally, it's similarthemes.

Speaker 2 (44:53):
Similar themes, because every you know, each
planet has, you know, has theirdifferent, their different
themes, their different lessons.
No, and another thing I wasgonna say too.
I think it's like because youkind of like, oh okay, you can
only blame yourself, right, butit's not this planet, is that

(45:14):
it's never the planet's fault.
It's the planet revealing to uswhat we need to see within
ourselves.

Speaker 1 (45:21):
The planet, revealing to us the thing we need to see
and own and deal with.

Speaker 2 (45:26):
Yeah, at the end of the day, if you think about
astrology in a psychological way, it's like we're projecting.

Speaker 1 (45:33):
We're so good at that , mm-hmm.

Speaker 2 (45:36):
Yeah, and it's even the same.
You know, you can think abouthaving a relationship with these
planets too.
It's like in a relationshipWe're often projecting things
onto, onto the other person.
Was the same thing on theplanet, But it's.
But it's there to teach us.

Speaker 1 (45:51):
You know, there's always lessons to be learned, So
Yeah, i imagine when we weretalking about transits earlier
harder transits, easier transitsThey are.
They're probably like growthtransits, like transits of like
intense growth, which alwaysfeels hard AF.
Yeah, and then maybe easiertransits, transits which are
like maybe resting transits arelike Yeah transits of just great

(46:13):
support and yeah totally Yeahand free, you know.

Speaker 2 (46:18):
Just for reference point, let's talk about Saturn.
People fear Saturn because it'slike you know, if you've heard
about the Saturn return, aboutthe first, I got divorced during
my Saturn return.
Oh Yeah, it's so that thesemajor events, like it, like in

(46:38):
our life, they take place aroundthese Saturn returns where it's
like you could, you know, somepeople get divorced, some people
get married, some people juststart their careers, some decide
to settle down and have kids,so it's like it's it's also this
time where you're just you'resort of tested.
It's that reflection of youknow, the last like 28 years and

(47:00):
How, how you've been living it.
So it's kind of like it'sdifficult lessons.
But it ultimately leads to agreater sense of maturity.
You reap what you sow.
If you're willing to put theeffort into something, you can
be greatly rewarded.
During these times too, yeah, imean Saturn.

(47:20):
Saturn can be, you know, fearedbecause of the struggles that
that can come with it, or justlike the, you know the pessimism
.

Speaker 1 (47:28):
And I relate to that, the fear because of the
struggle.
But the thing that I keepcoming back to over and over
again in my own life and on thepod is that the pain really
comes in, the resistance, yeah, and that we could really look at
astrology as a tool to help usshed that resistance up front so
that we can Just have an easiergrowth phase, because the

(47:53):
resistance is really where Isuffer, right, yes, i may have
to let go of things that I don'twant to let go of, and I may
have to Walk a hard path, but atthe end of the day, we're all
pretty good problem solvers,we're all pretty, you know, we
have big hearts, we know what todo, right.
But when we resist the lettinggo, when we resist the lesson,
that's when it's like oh, this,this hurts.

Speaker 2 (48:15):
Yeah, yeah, totally.
And Pluto, the planet ofdestruction, is also the planet
of empowerment.
You know, you can go throughpower struggles during major
Pluto Transits, and the point isto show you that you aren't
powerless.
You Choices to power yourself.

(48:36):
So, you know it's another one,So there's that.

Speaker 1 (48:40):
You're teaching us so much good stuff today.
Okay, so let's say someone'slistening to this and they're
okay.
How do I find Emily?
How do I learn more?
How would someone find you?
What would they do next?

Speaker 2 (48:50):
They can go to my website, which is Cypress
healing arts calm.

Speaker 1 (48:55):
We'll put that in a show notes.

Speaker 2 (48:57):
Yeah, cypress like the tree, and I have a YouTube
channel, cypress healing arts, and that's where I do Forecasts
awesome.

Speaker 1 (49:10):
We'll be sure to put that in the show notes also.

Speaker 2 (49:14):
Yeah, and that that's really the.
Those are probably the main twoplaces.
I am on Instagram.
I'm also at Cypress healingarts and then I'm also.
I'm also on TikTok.
It sounds funny like it's it'sagain working with the.
You know the mercury chironconjunction in Leo.
It's kind of funny to see whatcomes out, Because it's like

(49:35):
what can I do in like threeminute videos?

Speaker 1 (49:37):
I'm also amazing.
That's amazing.
Wow, i'm very proud of you.
Okay, so I'll put all of thatin the show notes And so if they
want to book a session with you, they can do that from your
website.
They can book a natal chartreading or transit reading or
whatever it is to make sense ofwhat they're going through.
That's amazing.

Speaker 2 (49:54):
Yeah Yeah, you know one in there too that has the
additional flower essenceconsult.

Speaker 1 (50:01):
Okay, so that's in there as well.
Love that.
It has been such a joy to haveyou on today.

Speaker 2 (50:08):
It's been a pleasure being here.
I really appreciate you havingme on amazing.

Speaker 1 (50:13):
So Tomorrow, when they're hearing this for the
first time, give them just a fewwords of what they're looking
for energetically in thiscurrent Transit.
I know you said courage, oh.

Speaker 2 (50:25):
Yeah, so I mean just the the Sun moving into Aries,
it's, it's the time of a freshstart.
So I know a lot of people thinkthat January 1st is a great
time for New Year's resolutions, but you might actually have
some more flow if you start it,you know, at this time in Aries,
because it's the new beginningsince the new chapter.

Speaker 1 (50:47):
So if our listeners made resolutions in January and
they've struggled with them, that would make sense.
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (50:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (50:54):
Start again.
I love so.
So today is the day fresh start, new energy, courageous
beginnings.

Speaker 2 (51:03):
Yeah, individuality.

Speaker 1 (51:07):
All right, thank you.
So so so much.
All right, loves.
Have a beautiful week, peace, dear divorce.
