Speaker 1 (00:05):
Welcome to Eden and Amadeus, the podcast.
We've got a couple of coolthings to run by you on today's
show and, of course, we've gotour weekly recap of our Battle
of the Sexes, which, by the way,I thought we had some good
battles this week.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Yeah, the Battle of the Sexes was strong this week
because the I don't want to giveanything away, but it felt like
it was very dominated bywhoever the victor was each day.
It was never neck and neck orsuper tight.
It was fun to hear You're goingto like it.
You're going to like it a lot.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
So there's this ongoing thing that we've been
talking about probably for yearsnow, and that is the
fascination with people buyingpictures or just looking at
pictures of feet, and I feellike this is something that Eden
would have a great side gigdoing, because it all started
when you posted a picture ofsome socks that you have that
are toe socks.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Yeah, I wear toe socks a lot because I'm a runner
and it's a good thing forkeeping me from getting blisters
and to keep my feet nice andflat.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
And so when you did that, you had a lot of like, a
lot of response, right.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
I got offers.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
That's called engagement.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
I got engagement.
I know I got people slidinginto my DMs.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
So here's the thing I don't see any harm with selling
pictures of your feet orshowing pictures of your feet.
I know that there's thatOnlyFans out there, where people
have niche things that they dolike on video or show pictures
of or whatever, and they make aton of money.
Well Feet.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Finder is the new big thing now for that, because
that's where people are reallyflocking to to sell their
pictures.
I'm not trying to promote FeetFinder.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Yeah, we are not getting paid for this.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
There is a nail salon , though, in Toronto, called Fix
Nail Bar, and they are giving a20% discount on pedicures to
any customer that will allowthem to sell pictures of their
feet online.
The campaign is called the Footyour Bill campaign so smart and
if you allow them to uploadyour feet photos on feet finders

(02:09):
, they will give you that extrasavings.
Now should you skip themiddleman and do it yourself.
Because there are some peoplethat say, especially if you have
what they call very square orRoman feet, that can earn
$45,000 selling these photos.
But the salon says they can doit in a way that's anonymous and

(02:29):
you can just take advantage ofthat discount.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Yeah, you can't do it yourself anonymously, I think
there's got to be a way.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
I feel sure you could .

Speaker 1 (02:37):
And also what the hell are square or Roman feet.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
People who are into feet have very specific things
that they like.
In fact, I saw a video earlierthis week where this lady is
writing a man's name with herfeet.
The pen has a big fluffypom-pom on it, which I guess
adds to the appeal, and she'sgot the pen between her toes and
she's writing the name Will andthe caption says need some

(03:03):
extra cash?
Just write men's name usingyour feet and sell it for $300
like I do $300 per name.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Evidently why are you not doing this?

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Because I have feet that look like a man's feet, put
on those toe socks and startwriting.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Let me tell you something.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Do you think somebody would?

Speaker 1 (03:23):
buy.
If I could do this.
I'm telling you if I could dothis.
I'm telling you, If I could dothis, I would do this.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
Do you think I should try this On feetfindercom?
You're asking me.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
I've been telling you for years yes, yes, yes, yes,
do it, just try it, see whathappens.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
I don't know if I could Look myself in the mirror,
could?

Speaker 1 (03:37):
you look yourself In the bank, I mean, and be like
here's my deposit for $3,000 forthe 10 names I just wrote, if
all of a sudden I start livinglarge and taking like global
trips.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
you'll know I'm kidding because I'm getting
ready to take a big trip and Iwant everybody to think it's
because I sold feet pictures.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
If that happens, I'm going straight to Feet Finder
and looking for pictures withtoe socks.
I'll be like that's eating, making that cash baby.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
I'll look and see if I can do it socked.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Yeah, do it.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
All right, what else do we have on our list?

Speaker 1 (04:07):
Another thing we talked about is now.
After a survey of 2,000 people,we've determined that the new
age that you stop being cool is39, which I don't think is
accurate for me and you.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
Because what they based it on was your knowledge
of pop culture, music and slang,I think because of our jobs.
We stayed pretty on top of thatfor as long as we could.
I got to a point shortly after39 where I was like I just don't
care anymore about that stuff.
Like I would love to be like.
I know there's a network, bravothat my best friend watches and

(04:41):
he loves all the is that wherethe All the Real Housewives?
Is that the Housewives friendwatches?

Speaker 2 (04:47):
and he loves all the real housewives.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Yeah, yeah and the and the and the boat, the under
the boat or something.
Um, below deck, yeah, belowdeck, like he watches all those
shows.
And then there's the andy cohenshow.
That recaps all the shows.
Watch what happens live like heis, like I think he is cooler
than me because he knows allthat stuff I don't know anything
about and I don't care yeah, Idon't know if that's what makes
you cool or not and if that'swhat this survey is based on.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
We might have some loopholes where we snuck through
, but as somebody who has raisedteenagers who have rolled their
eyes at me and let me know thatwhen I do drop any slang I'm
about three years behind I wouldsay that that sounds accurate,
that I lost my cool a while backwhen they got to the point
where they started thinking theywere cool.

(05:28):
Like sometimes I'll come in andI'll say a word and you're like
I don't know that word and thenI'll say oh, you know the kids
are saying this word, but I'mprobably.
You can always assume I'm atleast six months to a year
behind.
I mean, I may not be years andyears behind.
But I'm always enough behind Towhere and I probably shouldn't
say it Because it sounds sillyComing out of my mouth.

(05:51):
It sounds cringe, as the kidswould say.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Like we talked about on the radio.
There was that great line fromone of the Austin Powers movies
when he says there's nothingworse than an aging hipster.
And you know, that's why Ithink I don't care, because I
don't want to be an aginghipster.
Yeah, and you know that's why Ithink I don't care, because I
don't want to be an aginghipster.
I'm not trying to be like, I'mnot trying to be cool anymore.
I'm done with that, I don'tcare anymore.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Right, I just don't care.
Well, but it's also not thatcool to be cool anymore and it's
much more oh it's not.
No, it's, but it still doesn't.
You know what, though?
But?

Speaker 1 (06:26):
from.
We've established that.
That's fine with you, butyou're at this point when you're
like, honestly, like I used totry to watch All the TV shows,
like everything, every night, because I wanted to go On the
air the next day and talk abouteverything.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Right.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
Now I don't watch anything.
As a matter of fact, I'm losingshows by the year, like one of
my favorite shows is Bob Hart'sAbishola.
It's gone.
I'm not replacing it.
You know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
Okay, but here's the thing on that Like there was a
time back in the days of 90210and Melrose Place and American
Idol in its heyday where you hadto go, you had to watch that
stuff, friends.
All of that because you wantedto be able to talk about it the
next day on the radio because, that's what everyone was doing.
The radio, because that's whateveryone was doing.
But nowadays, with so manystreaming services, so many

(07:08):
different choices and so manypeople not watching things in
real time, you don't have to dothat anymore.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
And everything's a spoiler, if you do Right.
Because people like we have amutual friend that loves Young
Sheldon and I hit him up lastnight and was like, are you
caught up?
He's like no, I'm waiting untilthe end of the season to binge
the whole thing.
I'm like what?
What?
Yeah, like who does that?
A lot of people do now Onnetwork TV shows.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
A lot of people still do that.
Wow, yeah, sure, okay.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
Well, I am not cool, nor do I try to be.
All right and I'm past 39, sothat makes all the sense in the
world.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
So what else do you have on that list of things we
didn't really get to or giveenough time to on the radio?

Speaker 1 (07:43):
I actually saw this, I think, on Monday, and I knew
that we wouldn't get to it onthe radio Monday and I just kind
of like snapped a picture of itto remind me to go back to it.
These are 10.
I haven't been on a date inlike 15 years, but these are 10
dating ideas that guarantee asecond date, and I wanted to run
them by you because you're muchcooler than me.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
We've already established, I'm not, but okay.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
So we can just spitfire these real quick.
Number 10, explore new cuisine.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
Oh wait, what is the subject again?
You just said it fits being ona date, but what are?

Speaker 1 (08:15):
the things.
It's 10 first date ideas thatguarantee a second date.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
Oh, okay, that's right, you did say that it's
cool to listen, explore newcuisine.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
Fight me.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
Okay, so exploring new cuisine.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
Yeah, I like this one because if it's something
neither one of you ever tried,it might be something kind of
daring Because it gives yousomething to talk about.
Yeah, daring and new andexciting for a first date.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
I think that's a great first date idea Sharing
and new and exciting for a firstdate.
I think that's a great firstdate idea.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
Attending a sports game or event.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
If the person is a fan, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
I think that's a good one.
Go bowling.
I love this because who goesbowling anymore?
And I love to bowl and I nevergo bowling.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
All right.
Here's when that isn't going towork.
If you're an amazing bowler, don't invite the person to go
bowling with you if they're nota bowler.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
That's a good point.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
If you're just like everybody else in the world.
That's like I bowl occasionally, very, very rarely.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Like I've never broke 100 bowling.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
Right, Like if you, I don't know what that even is
that good or bad?

Speaker 1 (09:10):
That's bad.
I'm not a good bowler.
I'm sure I never have either.
Then Number seven is to go to awine or beer tasting event.
I like it.
I like it too, because there'ssomething to do there.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
You gotta rate the.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Right, exactly Number six have a picnic at a local
park.
I love this because restaurantsCan be so much pressure on a
first date.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Oh, I don't like that at all.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
You don't.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
No, I don't.
I think that if I were on afirst date With someone and he
did a picnic, I'd be like oh, oh, my gosh, how many girls have
you trotted this out?

Speaker 1 (09:40):
on.
Oh, I didn't think about that,it just seems too cliche to me,
Then you might not like numberfive either.
Take a scenic hike.
Number four visit a local fairor festival.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
That's a good one.
It is.
That's a very good one.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
Okay, I'm thinking you know that Strawberry
Festival what's happening rightnow and I was there opening
weekend.
Such a great event.
Attend a live music event.
I'll tell you why I like thisone, and I would put this at
number three as well Attending amovie, and I think a movie or a
concert are great because youdon't have to interact, you
don't have to talk, you can justsit there.
It's not super social, but it'salso very social at the same

(10:15):
time.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
Let's agree to disagree on that as well.
I really I don't I.
A concert, yes, a movie, no,unless it's your way in.
Like it's not, unless it's likeyou know, oh yeah, you're a fan
of this too.
Like, hey, it's your way to say.
Like, what do you think aboutgoing and seeing that?
Okay, yeah, that'd be one thing, but just to make a date and
then go to the movies, to methat that's a cop out.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
You don't really talk , I feel like a movie and then
like a real quick, like go forsome like dessert or coffee and
talk about the movie, as long asyou do that.
Yeah, number two explore amuseum or an art gallery.
Where are you on that?
Not a great first date, thatdoesn't?

Speaker 2 (10:57):
sound like that much fun to me.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
Okay, it just doesn't .
And finally, the number onething to ensure you get a second
date after a first date is tryout a cooking class.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
For a first date.
Maybe you know I liked thefirst half of that list much
better than I liked the secondhalf of that list.
I think it got a little bit toocreative.
So like the higher the numbergoes up, yeah, I mean the
cooking class idea is fun andit's cute, but then you're in a
scenario where you're meetingpeople almost like you're a
couple and I wouldn't love that.

(11:32):
I don't think, okay, that makessense, but I don't know.
I mean, I think every scenariois different, but I think you're
spot on with some of those.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
Some of those are so great.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
Really really good yeah.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
And some of them are just more like individual to you
.
If you are someone and you knowthat person loves art,
obviously that museum.
I love art, but I wouldn't wantto go to an art museum with
someone I don't really know thatwell and try to discuss it.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
Gotcha, gotcha, I mean.
I'm not that way Well there arejust some starters for you.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
They're great starters.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
If you're going on a first date.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
The list is phenomenal.

Speaker 1 (12:04):
Pick the ones you like yeah, in whole it's a good
list.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
So let's talk about the battle of the sexes and get
back to that.
The topics this week reallyranged all over the place.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
Of course we're going into mother's day, so we had to
have a one one day of thebattle.
Being about moms, we alwayshave leftovers.
We had one where it was nursesday, so we did kind of a like a
anatomy 101 quiz.
Uh, we had.
I liked the quiz we did on the1900s decades.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
I did too.
That was really great.
Yeah, because you don't thinkabout things in terms of decades
, unless you really unlessthey're really standout things
like there's one question onthere that you'll hear that the
person gets wrong and you'relike to me.
That makes perfect sense thatthey would guess the way they
guessed okay I don't want togive anything away, so you just

(12:54):
listen right now and then youlet us know.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
This is a Battle of the Sexes replay.

Speaker 1 (13:02):

No, the 70s is what we'relooking for there.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
One to nothing right now, jennifer.
If you get this one right, thegame's over.
Jennifer, from our Nurses Dayquiz, what T word connects your
bones and muscles?
Oh, tendon, yes.

Speaker 2 (20:41):
How cute, so cute.
So the question I was talkingabout was the one with the disco
.
This is that very last one Ithought, okay, I could see where
somebody who is younger mightnot know that disco is from the
70s.
I think if they would have said60s I would have thought that
was even more possible.

Speaker 1 (20:59):
And disco did bleed a little over into the early 80s.
That's right, just a little bitit definitely did, but it's
definitely mostly associatedwith the 70s.
Right yeah, exactly, exactly.

Speaker 2 (21:09):
So it was a great week of battles, as usual, and
we always share those with youat the end of the week on our
podcast.
Thanks everybody for tuning intoday.
