For today, a few quick tips oncontrolling time, right?
(02:10):
This is what we're trying to dowith this segment.
Give you different ways tocontrol time rather than manage
time.
We've talked about our dailybattle plan, how to turn that
into a weekly battle plan.
We've talked about doing timestudies to make sure you know
where you're wasting your timeand how you can remedy that.
We've talked about hiring peopleas a way to control time.
(02:33):
We've talked about so manydifferent ways for you to take
back control of your time so youare not stuck being controlled
by somebody else's priorities.
You should be controlling yourtime to be able to get to your
goals and pay attention to yourpriorities, not somebody else's.
(02:57):
So a few things today to try outthis week, and we've touched on
a couple of them before, but Iwant to make sure that you
really start trying some ofthese things.
Hopefully, you've gone throughsome of the homework that we've
done in the past and you'veimplemented some of this stuff
and seen a benefit from it inyour personal or professional
(03:18):
lives.
If you have, hey, give me amessage.
I'd love to hear about it.
Have you tried the 15-minutetime blocks yet?
So instead of looking at, youknow, just a full hour or maybe
just the first half of the dayor the last half of the day,
let's get down to 15-minutesegments and block them all out.
How can you block your day outinto 15 minutes?
(03:39):
And how much can you get done inthose 15 minutes?
Cram as much as you can inthere.
Do everything you can to get asmuch done as you can in 15
minutes and watch what happens.
Do that when you're working out.
Do that with when you're withyour family, do that when you're
with your clients, when you'redoing your paperwork.
(04:00):
Try that and see how much youcan get done, and you'll find,
wow, I got all that done, andthat's going to motivate you and
help you move forward withcontrolling that time.
Another one is keepingstatistics on everything that's
important.
You know, we talked aboutputting those action plans into
your daily battle plan, but youhave to make sure that you were
(04:22):
reviewing those and keepingstatistics on how everything
went.
So that's workouts, time withfamily, money, investments,
clients, follow-up, calls, everything that generates value
or is important, track it.
Keeping statistics allows you tobe logical and unemotional.
(04:43):
You don't want to just trust, you want to know.
And the only way to know that iskeeping statistics.
Now, when you did your timestudy, that's a type of
statistic, right?
You figured out exactly whereall your time goes, and then you
can make changes because ofthat.
So keep statistics on everythingimportant to you.
(05:05):
That gets you out of confusion.
If things aren't going the wayyou want, you know what you need
to adjust to get back incontrol.
And that will keep you excitedand it'll keep you focused and
it'll keep you on your way toprioritizing your time and not
letting somebody else do it.
Because when you are measuringyourself, you're being held
(05:28):
accountable by you, not anybodyelse.
Another good way to control timeis to keep a full calendar.
If you want to stay motivated, hey, pack that calendar.
Not just those 15-minute blocksI was just talking about, not
just today.
We're talking about every day.
(05:48):
When you're packing as much asyou can in, that means you're
gonna be running from event toevent.
But hey, I'll tell you what, when I am super busy, when I'm
running back and forth toeverything, I feel invigorated,
and I bet you will too.
So say yes to stuff, keep yourcalendar full, and that's gonna
keep that motivation high andcan keep that control high as
(06:11):
well.
Maybe an overlooked one whenyou're talking about controlling
time is your sleep.
All right.
May sound elementary, may soundeasy, but far too many people
don't get the proper amount ofsleep or don't have it scheduled
in the right way.
So go to bed early, get upearly, be the first one out.
Beat everybody to it.
(06:33):
But the only way you're gonnaget up earlier than everybody is
if you go to bed early.
So make sure you are controllingyourself by controlling your
sleep and therefore able to getup and get that head start in
front of everybody else outthere.
Also stay away from thatprocrastination.
Get things done long beforethey're required of you.
(06:54):
People who wait till thedeadline to get stuff done
aren't getting much done.
Production creates motivation.
You don't need to do itperfectly.
You just gotta get it right andget it done.
If you're constantlyprocrastinating and waiting till
the last minute on every singlething, you're gonna find that
(07:15):
your time is gonna start gettingcontrolled by somebody else
because things happen and youhave to be able to pivot.
And what's gonna happen isyou've waited too long, you went
too close to a deadline, and allof a sudden something happens
and then it doesn't get done.
So stay away from thatprocrastination.
We've all been doing it sinceprobably high school and before.
(07:37):
But make a concerted effort toget things done long before they
are required of you.
So let's close with these lastfew things.
As with anything 10x, you know,we always want to take massive
action.
We've talked about that manytimes.
Of the four phases of action, you always want to be in massive
action.
(07:58):
And whether we're talking aboutcontrolling time or we're
talking about marketing, we'retalking about sales, there's
really three parts to makingsure that you have a full
massive action plan.
The first one being the 10xmindset.
If you don't believe in yourselfand your company, then you're
(08:19):
not gonna be successful, period.
And that's the same thing withcontrolling time.
If you don't believe that youcan do it, you're not gonna be
successful.
And with that 10x mindset, itmeans you are taking full
responsibility for you.
You're taking fullresponsibility, full control of
(08:41):
your destiny, and you realizethat success or failure is up to
only one person, and that's you.
So you get that 10x mindsetright where you commit to taking
full responsibility, and youcommit to massive action.
That's both with controllingtime and anything in your life,
(09:03):
and then once you get thatmindset right, you put together
that 10x plan.
You know, before you can takemassive action, you gotta know
what you're aiming for, right?
So you gotta get those targetsin place, those massive 10x
targets, write them down, writethose goals down, make them
front and center every singleday.
(09:24):
Then figure out the necessaryaction to achieve those and ten
exit, create that 10x plan.
And then you move on to 10xexecution.
Commitment.
And even commitment plus a planmeans nothing if it isn't
followed with action.
So you can say you're committed, you can put together a beautiful
(09:46):
plan and say, hey, I got allthis action I need to take, but
you if you don't take theaction, it doesn't really
matter.
Same thing with those battleplans.
If you're writing those battleplans down every single morning
and you're not doing them, itmakes no difference.
You might as well not even writethem down.
You have to follow through withthe action.
(10:07):
That's the linchpin on all ofit.
How many of you guys have beenin groups before, been in
meetings where there is sure aheck of a lot of talk, a lot of
talk about this, a lot of talkabout that, a lot of talk about,
hey, we should do this, weshould do that, we could do
this, that would be great.
And no action is ever started.
We've all been there, we've allbeen part of groups that are
like that, right?
(10:28):
The action is the linchpin toanything, to any success, both
individually or as a group.
So let's commit to controllingtime today so others aren't
controlling it for us.
Switch to that 10x mindset, create that 10x plan, and follow
(10:49):
through with that 10x execution.
Create those battle plans, stickto the action that you have on
there, do it each and every day.
Hope that helps.
We'll be back after the break.
