Don't call it a comeback, I been here for years”…thank you, LL Cool J

Whenever I hear the words, “midlife crisis” they are always followed up by that song singing in my head. I have no idea why. And the whole scene makes me giggle.

Midlife is filled with challenges…and they don’t need to be a crisis. We’re not making a comeback, we’ve been here for years…and we have so much knowledge and experience to help us navigate the rest of our lives!

You are going to LOVE Deb Foster just as much as me. I met Deb when I was a guest on her podcast, Gen X Juggler. The connection was IMMEDIATE. She is so incredibly kind, caring, and authentic! And boy isn’t that what we all need as we navigate our life journeys?

Deb speaks to all of us Gen Xers and if you’re close to my age, Listener, (eh hem…53 and proud of it!) then you’re probably going through some major life changes.

For me, we have 2 adult children. Our daughter is 25, launching into her career and we are here to support her. Our son is 22, entering into his last year of undergraduate and exploring the world to discover who he is and what he wants to create with his life.

Our parents are independent, but aging. Our bodies are changing. Our daily schedules are changing.

Hell, what isn’t changing?!?

Well, let’s get through this TOGETHER!

Join me as I marvel at Deb’s story of wake up calls, growth, challenges, and triumphs.

About DEB FOSTER

Deb Foster is the creator and host of the Gen X Juggler Podcast, a podcast that dives into the beautifully messy realities of midlife. In her mid-forties, Deb realized that life had not slowed down as her children grew up and began to leave the nest, the way she once imagined it would. Life actually became much more demanding–with aging parents to care for, one child still at home, becoming a grandparent, and the emotional rollercoaster of her older children leaving home to start their own adult lives. And, of course, making time to care for herself mentally, physically, and spiritually had taken a backseat to all of it.

After making some bold changes in her own life, Deb felt called to help others juggle the joys and challenges of midlife and rediscover who they are in this new chapter. Through honest conversations, humor, and heartfelt insight, Deb intends for the Gen X Juggler Podcast to create space for midlifers to feel seen, heard, and a little less alone…because midlife is better when we juggle it together!

Stuff You Should Know
Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
