SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
I have some answers here.
Read this book, hear this.
And people were just coming tome from all places.
And I start looking at all thisinformation, and I'm like, whoa,
that's it doesn't all agree witheach other.
And I'm like, okay, I'm gettingall this information, but I need
to get clarity.
So the second prayer was to getclarity and sift out all this

(00:21):
understanding.
And I have three hills behind myproperty, and I hike up to the
top of them and in the morningbefore the sun comes up.
And I put my little light on myhead and I get up at 4:30 in the
morning and I hike up to the topof this hill.
And I built a little altar.
And like in the Bible, they havethe story of Abraham, and he

(00:44):
built this altar.
And I always struck me as a wayto connect with my creative
spirit and with God.
And so I built this little stonealtar up there.
And I sit up there and I'll singand I pray and I I just sit and
watch the sunrise.
You know, it's sort of my littleplace, my little church.
And uh so I spent more and moretime up there and I started
getting ideas.

(01:05):
Like it's weird when you're outin nature, and like when we're
when we're in technology, youhave all these lights and and
and links and reading and allthis stuff, and it's a lot.
But when you're in nature, youhave quiet and you have a
contrast to all of this chaos.

(01:28):
And sometimes, and you can lookout across the whole valley, you
have a different perspective, like you can see far away and
realize like you look up at thestars and you're like, wow, I'm
this little speck.
And or you can look close up ata rock and you go, Wow, compared
to that little thing crawling onthe rock, I'm pretty big, you
know, and you realize that it'sall you know, relative,

(01:50):
everything, right?
And sometimes when you'rethinking or trying to process,
and you just stop and you stoptrying, and you just sit with
nature, and all of a sudden alittle voice will come, or
you'll see a pattern, or all ofa sudden, one thing will just

(02:15):
seem brighter than the others, you know, like but you have to
be quiet, you have to you haveto be quiet, yeah, your mind has
to calm down, yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (02:26):
You have to pick up the signals that the the voices
within you, you have to be ableto listen.
The voices, the wisdom in in theuniverse.
You cannot listen and you cannottune in if your own chattering
is going on non-stop, and thatchattering stops and the water

(02:46):
becomes still.
Yes, you start seeing thereflection, and you say, Oh wow.
Then you can begin.
Then you say, This is who I am.
I can see my reflection.
When the waves are choppy, Icannot see anything.

SPEAKER_00 (03:01):
Right.
No, you're spot on, and and ittakes like what happened was as
I started to get rid of allthese things, I got more
clarity.
Yes, and and I started torealize like how much time I was
spending even subconsciously, like managing all this stuff,

(03:23):
like doing this busy stuff thatseemed important, right?

SPEAKER_01 (03:27):
That seemed necessary to do, but truly was
not adding value to your life, was only creating um clutter.
Right.

SPEAKER_00 (03:38):
And and and that clutter was taking from me, and
I didn't realize it, you know.
Yeah, it's just sitting on ashelf, but you're actually
thinking about it all the time, like you know it's there, and
you know you got to deal withit, or there's something in
there you need to find, whateverit is, some little part of your
subconscious is connected tothat, and when you throw it away

(04:01):
and you say it's no longer partof my life, I don't need this
anymore.
All of a sudden, there's a placefor something new to be, or a
place for nothing to be.
And all of a sudden, what Ifound was all the things I
needed started to come into mylife, and I didn't try, I didn't

(04:25):
seek them, I wasn't I wasn'tdoing anything to like work
harder, I just had moreavailable energy, more
resources, more space.
And so I went through a seriesof doctors, and I'll go more
into detail in futureconversations, but I learned in

(04:49):
this process that one doctorwould tell me something, and
then I go to another doctor, andhe'd tell me something
different.
And then I'm I'm talking to allthese other people and I'm
gathering information and I'mtrying to share some of that
with the doctors, and they don'twant to hear it.
I said, Well, I'm doing thistherapy and that therapy, and
they're like, I don't know aboutthat, I don't know about that.

(05:09):
You know, they just know whatthey know, and so the the
surgeon wanted to operate on me,and the radiation doctor wanted
to give me radiation.
He said, Don't get the surgery,it's gonna mutilate your body.
And uh then I go to the chemodoctor and she says, Well, I'm
with the radiation doctor, andthen and I'm like, I don't want
any of this stuff, but then Imeet this other doctor, and he's

(05:34):
a not a medical doctor, he's aresearch scientist, and he had
written a paper that somehow inmy searching something came up,
and my little my little I don'tknow, guide, if you will, keyed
in on a word and says, readthis.

(05:57):
I had enough calmness that I Iheard it.
Yes, and so like you learn tolike have part of your body
relaxed and resting, and part ofyour body can be active, but if
you can keep part of your spiritrelaxed and resting, then you

(06:18):
can listen to that little guythat says, Hey, check that one
out.
Wow, and the the the articlethat that came up was it titled
Cancer's Addiction toMethionine.
And and I was like, I neverheard about that before.
And so I started to research, and that sent me on a path to

(06:47):
try to find an enzyme calledmethionine AIDS, and I'll talk
more about that.
But there turned out there'sonly one guy in the world that
makes it a guy named Dr.
Robert Hoffman.
And I and I I sent him an emailgoing, I just want to get some
of your enzyme.
What what do I do?
And within 10 minutes, I get anemail, and this guy uh says,

(07:12):
Give me a call, here's mynumber.
Yeah, I call this guy, and itturns out for 50 years he's been
researching this.
He made a discovery that turnedscience upside down, and it's
there's no way forpharmaceutical companies to make
money from it.

(07:33):
So it never got accepted.
And most of the what is it?

SPEAKER_01 (07:37):
What is what is the enzyme?
How does he make it and why?

SPEAKER_00 (07:41):
So what happens is people think that cancer is it
needs sugar to live.
Right, but the truth is canceris let me do another little hop
skip sideways.
So initially, I'm like, okay, Ihave cancer, I need to beat
this, it's an enemy.

(08:01):
Yes, yes, and and I said, I'mI'm fighting cancer, is the
words I use.
I'm gonna kill this cancer, I'mgonna destroy it.
It it's it's not, it needs togo.
Yes, and then through thesemeditations and these medicines
working with this, I got sittingup on my hill one day, I got a
message and it said, You'rewrong.

(08:26):
Yeah, and um I I I I I connectedwith the cancer in an energetic
way.
Well, through the doctors, uh,one doctor put a camera down my
throat, up my nose and down intomy throat, and he let me look at
it, and I actually saw the tumorthat was in the back of my

(08:46):
throat, and it was scary.
It was like a dragon, it waslike uh uh a demon.
I was I looked at this thing andI'm like, whoa, and it like
almost breathed at me, and andit was it was it shocked me to
my soul.
I was like, this thing is in meand it wants to destroy me.

(09:11):
But then I sit up on themountain, and it's not a very
tall mountain, it takes me anhour or half an hour to climb up
it.
It's not a but it's enough of astruggle to get up it that when
you get up, you feel like youdid something.
And yes, you have a beautifulview, anyways.
I'm sitting up there watchingthe sunrise, and I get the
notion that it's not trying tokill you, it doesn't even know

(09:36):
you, it's just trying to stayalive, and yes, it's confused,
it is you, but it lost its way.
Yes, and I was like, whoa, that's a whole different point
of view, yes, and and and and II was like, oh man, I have to
change everything, and and youknow, Ruby, this has been such a

(09:58):
humbling experience because I'vegone from helping people heal
their own cancers with mymedicine for 30 years and
watching success.
And then when I got hit with myown, my own medicines weren't
helping me the way that Iexpected them to.
And I I had to go, maybe I'mwrong, and I had to go let go of

(10:20):
everything that I thought I knewand and say, Well, I maybe I'm
nothing, maybe I don't knowanything, and I had to like
really accept that.
And it wasn't hard because I gotthis thing that I have to solve,
and that's the only thing thatmatters.
If I don't solve it, I'm notgonna be here.
And so whatever it takes, whatever it takes, yeah.

(10:45):
And and so after I saw thisthing and then I became aware,
all of a sudden things startedcoming together faster and
better.
And I started realizing that,well, it's not that I don't know
anything, I just didn't know theanswer to my problem.
Yeah, I know some things, I helpsome people, but I don't know

(11:06):
everything, and I don't, andthen I realized that that this
thing is me.
Yes, and it's as unique as I am.
So, like, you know, in thespiritual realm, we're all
connected, we're all the same,right?
And so when when when when wecan go to a place in this
quantum world, your electronsare connected to my electrons,

(11:31):
and there's really nodifference.
But then when we assimilate intothis physical form that we exist
in, even if it's just in ourminds, it doesn't matter.
We exist in some way, there's auniqueness that gets brought
out, and it's it's as unique asyour thumbprint against mine,
your DNA and mine.
They're just we're mostly thesame, but there's these little

(11:54):
differences that say, Yes, youknow, there is a thing that's
special about you, you know, your yes, your love is is is
special, and so is mine, butthere's something unique about
it, and it's the same with thiscancer, the same with this
problem.
And I realized that, and I'mlike, oh wow, okay, I gotta

(12:15):
solve my problem.
And so that led me on a journey, which we'll go into deeper.
We're already way over time, butI don't care.
And and so but what I learnedthrough this was that there is
no white or black, there is noyes or no.
Yeah, everything has a positiveand a potential negative, and so

(12:39):
that's where the mystery lies, and that's where I can help
people solve their problemsbecause the answers are all
around us, and that's right.

SPEAKER_01 (12:52):
Yeah, absolutely.
So this enzyme started to helpyou.

SPEAKER_00 (12:55):
This doctor you called, and he gave you uh he
gave me, he became my friend, and okay, he comes on my podcast
just about every week, and we wedo a conversation about science
and healing and how how and andhe has a community where every
Sunday at four o'clock um he hasa Zoom call, and all these

(13:18):
people that he's been workingwith, he dedicated his life to
this.
And so just like you and me, andhe doesn't even make money from
it.
He, I mean, he really he he hehas a nonprofit and he makes
this enzyme and and he providesit, but it's not a profit-based
business.
And but he comes together withthese people on Sundays and we

(13:40):
share our ideas and thoughts, and we have new people come in
and find answers.
And that's been critical.
And it's not so much that youknow, this enzyme's critical.
So the the premise of it isprotein contains 20 amino acids.
One of the amino acids ismethionine.

(14:01):
Cancer requires high amounts ofmethionine from an external food
source regularly in order tometabolize and to replicate and
to grow.
And if you deprive cancer ofthis methionine, it begins to
weaken and it can't replicate.

(14:25):
And what happens is othertherapies, oxidative therapies,
oxygen therapies, herbaltherapies, chemotherapy, they
all work better.
And your body can recoverquicker.
And so it gives you like a it'salmost like taking a superfood

(14:45):
or a vitamin that gives you lotsof energy.
Um, it helps you, or or orbreathing extra oxygen for you,
your healthy body.
It it helps you and it causesthe cancer to not be able to
grow.

SPEAKER_01 (15:00):
And so, which are the foods that uh contain this
uh uh I can't even pronouncethis methionine, methionine,
yeah.
Yeah, that you that you stopeating and it and then it
deprives the cancer.
So which foods have it?

SPEAKER_00 (15:14):
And it it's primarily protein.
So so I I've gone on a vegandiet and I cut out meat and
fish, and and and that's a wholestory in itself.
But this enzyme, even fruits andvegetables, and and you got to
get some protein.
So you eat a little beans, alittle, you know, some some

(15:35):
plant-based stuff, but thisenzyme takes and pulls it out of
your body before it getsabsorbed.
And your body is remarkable,Ruby.
Your body takes proteins, likeeverything in your body is made
of protein, right?
All your muscles, yes.

(15:56):
So he has a huge need of allthese amino acids, but your body
knows what to do with them.
And when when a cell starts todie off, or you know, you you
create something that you don'tneed anymore, your body just
takes it apart and uses it forsomething else.
So your body's just recycles it,yeah.
Yeah, recycle.

(16:16):
It's the best recycling programever.
So your body's always takingapart, and even when you go
fast, you're when you fast yourbody takes unhealthy cells and
it says, Well, recycle them.
And and and so I do a lot offasting, and that's a big part
of what what this program is.
But the cancer, so your body cantake methionine, which it needs,

(16:42):
from old proteins, and itrecycles them.
And if you're doing exercise andyou're growing muscle, it'll
take that methionine and use itto build your good, healthy
body.
So it knows what to do.
Your body remembers how to behealthy, yes.
But when you go on this diet andyou restrict your protein and

(17:04):
you start starving the cancer ofits ability to metabolize,
because people think, oh, cancerneeds sugar.
Well, you know what?
Cancer is you, all right?
So when you stop eating sugar, what do you do?
Your body starts eating fat.
It says, Well, that's fine, I'llgo and I'll I'll eat fat
instead.
And if it runs out of fat, it'llstart eating your muscle.

(17:26):
Your body's not going to starveitself until there's nothing
left to eat.
Well, guess what?
Cancer does the same thing, andcancer will upregulate to
whatever your body's eating.
It'll say, Okay, fine, I'll goeat that.
But without this methionine, itdoesn't know what to do.
And so, fast forward, I came upwith a protocol, and we'll go

(17:50):
into the details further infurther conversations.
But I came up with a protocolwith Dr.
Hoffman, other doctors in thisgroup.
Yes, three drugs that are usedin standard chemotherapy.
My my my oncologist didn't wantto do it, but this tumor got so
big, and I'm gonna send you anemail picture of this tumor so

(18:13):
you can.
Yeah, you showed to me lasttime.

SPEAKER_01 (18:15):
Yes, you showed it to me last time.

SPEAKER_00 (18:17):
Oh, I did show you, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So you saw it was horrible, andyes, I wasn't gonna get the
treatment that they wanted togive me fast enough.
I said, Look, I did research, Ithink we can try these three
drugs as a they call it aneo-adjuvant treatment, which is
like a precursor that says,Well, we're gonna do your

(18:38):
radiation later, but we got toshrink it down a little bit.
So let's give it some chemo andit will shrink it down some and
then we'll go and talk to you.
They agreed because I did theresearch and I presented
something that fit inside theirbox, and they agreed to give me
three treatments as a precursor, and I went through these three

(19:01):
treatments along with all thediet and the other things I'm
doing, and it was miraculous.
And we'll start the conversationnext week with the miracle that
happened because that's where Iwas given the gift, right at
that critical point where I wasabout to die, and I did this
therapy, and I I it justmiraculously turned around.

SPEAKER_01 (19:25):
Wow, wow.
I I I hope um people take uh youknow, there are several lessons
in your story.
One is when you're faced uh witha difficult circumstance, make
sure you quiet yourself down sothat you can listen to the

(19:47):
solutions.
That's very important, right?
To keep to keep your mind quietbecause then you will you will
hear solutions and then go seekout, right?
Connect with people.
You have to be active in in yoursearch.
If you're gonna search it,search and search yes.
Don't don't don't become don'tdon't don't sit alone uh

(20:12):
recognizing or playing thevictim card.
Go out actively, calm yourselfdown, make sure you handle your
fear.
Yeah, there will be fear, it'sunderstandable.
We will all have comes and goes, yeah.
But quiet your mind down andwill start working on the
solutions and try solutions,right?
You never know which solutionwill work for you, but help your

(20:36):
body, help your mind, uh, andthen apply these solutions.

unknown (20:41):
Right.

SPEAKER_00 (20:41):
And when you put your mind on a focus of I need
to solve this problem, I willsolve this problem, I am solving
this problem.
Yes, and you you you change youryour narrative from what I need
to do to what I'm going to do towhat I am doing, then all of a
sudden you become your ownadvocate.

(21:03):
Yes, and you don't get told whatto do anymore.
You you you listen and they say, okay, this is what we're gonna
do.
You go, well, I'll consider thisand I'll get back to you.
And then you sit with it and youyou you know you spend time
receiving and and communicatingwith others.
And what happens, and I don't, Idon't understand it, but I I've

(21:28):
experienced it, is when yourmind goes to a place where you
say, I'm I'm doing this now, I'mI'm I'm working on this, this,
or whatever it is.
Like it's like the you buy a redcar and all of a sudden you see
red cars everywhere.
And before, but now you do, andand all of a sudden you start to
meditate, and then people thatmeditate come and talk to you.

(21:49):
And I don't know how it works, but there's some sort of uh an
energy.

SPEAKER_01 (21:54):
You begin to tap into the channels that can help
you, you become aware of thosechannels which you were not
which existed around you, butyou were not uh you know, you're
oblivious to it because you'renot paying attention to it,
right?

SPEAKER_00 (22:07):
And maybe somebody was knocking on your door and
you didn't even hear them, andyou walked right past them.

SPEAKER_01 (22:12):
Yes, and so when you like you go into a restaurant,
you sit on a chair and a table, and you never pay attention to
those until you become a chairsalesperson, right?
And every chair jumps at you inevery restaurant, and you're
able to say, Oh, this chair isjust right, and so you're you're
just tuned in, it it exists, itis there in front of you.

(22:33):
Right.
Boy, it it you know, spirituality is the same, it's
it's there in front of us,right?
We're just tuned into it.
It's when we begin to tune intoit, uh, we begin to see uh Joe.
God, God bless you, God blessyou, sir, for for staying brave,
for figuring out how to find asolution for you know this the

(22:59):
situation and and for thatrealization that this was not
something a fight, it's part ofwho you are, right?
And you had to show it love andit you know help it help it
resolve itself and fix itself sothat it can come back into
balance, right?

SPEAKER_00 (23:15):
And to take that approach you create an
environment where only thehealthy can live, yes, and so
that's really all you do is yousay, Well, I'm gonna make a
world where only the good thingscan be, and the things that are
not good, they just can't live.
And so, you know, you don't haveto kill anything, you just

(23:36):
create a world where they can'tlive in anymore.

SPEAKER_01 (23:39):
Yeah, I know how beautiful from decluttering your
mind, from making the mindquiet, and then from
decluttering your body based onthe food that you eat, right?
And you're simplifying andmaking the body simpler, and
then the body begins to respond.

SPEAKER_00 (23:54):
Right, it remembers like I always say, like when I
pray, I'm like, well, reset meback to my first original code.
Because you go through yourlife, yeah.
I I was not good on my body, I Iwas hard on my body when I was
young.
I I I did drugs and I I I ateterrible and I I led a stressful

(24:16):
life, and I I spent probably 20years beating my body up.
And so I I'm sure I created thisproblem, you know, with all the
things I did.
But when I finally realized Iwant to live a long time and I I
started to uh respect my bodyand and give reverence to life,
um, you know, I changed, but Ithe whatever I had done, I had

(24:37):
done.
And so part of this is justtrying to get your body to
remember what it already knows.
And yes, yes.
And then another lesson that isthrough this is the human spirit
is amazing.
And the human spirit has theability to carry on, no matter
what.

(24:57):
Like we can be put throughtorturous experience, we can be,
you know, people have gonethrough concentration camps and
somehow survived and wentthrough these horrors of being
tormented and tortured, and thenthere's so many stories of of
the endurance of the humanspirit.
But I look at it this way islike all we have to do is

(25:20):
remember to carry on, and thenthink about where you're going.
Like, what is it that I'm tryingto do?
Because yes, whatever you thinkabout is what you're doing.
Yes, and you don't have to doany more than that, really.
You could sit in a corner andjust think about that if you
were good enough at it, and youknow, you would probably solve

(25:40):
it, but most of us are not thatgood.

SPEAKER_01 (25:44):
Yes, yes, no, wonderful, sir.
Wonderful.
I I congratulate you.

SPEAKER_00 (25:50):
Uh well, I'm just getting started, so so this is
the well, this is a great storyand great inspiration for
people.

SPEAKER_01 (26:00):
Uh I thank you for the work that you're doing, that
you've been doing for years, andthat you will now uh do it with
even more vigor, right?
Because you've been there, you've seen it, yes, and and and
to help people and and help theworld uh become more peaceful.

SPEAKER_00 (26:18):
Right, we can solve any problem, you know, and yes,
and and really problems are anillusion, anyways, you know,
they're just yes we think is inour way, and uh and and and
really the we the only thing youcan change in your life is you,
and and and that's it.
We just make those decisions.
Well, Ruby, I we we gone doublethe time.

(26:41):
I'll probably cut this episodeinto two pieces, and um, and and
it'll be beautiful.
But I I I really thoroughlyenjoy our conversation and I
feel like I dominated this one,but it's an important story.

SPEAKER_01 (26:54):
And no, but it's your story.
I I I I I I want to help yourstory be told.
Yes.
Uh so I came to listen, uh justas everybody who listens to it
will will benefit, right?
And hopefully everybodylistening to this, please reach
out to Joe, uh, be in hispresence and benefit from both

(27:17):
his work and his experiences,right?

unknown (27:20):
Right.

SPEAKER_01 (27:20):
Don't feel at all if you're if you're facing any
situation, reach out to Joe.
Uh he he has you, he will takecare of you.
You may have to climb a mountainand fall in the morning.
I might have to go for acamera's high, but that's okay.
You may have to do that, Icannot.
But friends, let's reach out toyou.

(27:42):
You won't regret it if youdon't.
Yes, reach out to Joe or reachout to in your life, wherever
you are, you may be in anothercountry, wherever you are, reach
out to people who are there likeJoe to help you.

SPEAKER_00 (27:55):
The universe everywhere, you know, the nature
flight workers, they call themhelpers, healers, whatever.

SPEAKER_01 (28:02):
But they're there all over.
Nature is there, the universe isthere, you're not alone.
Seek out the biggest problem youface, seek out, make yourself
calm, quiet, feed your body, feed your mind, the healthy
stuff, and then seek help andand see how magic happens.

(28:22):
So God bless to God bless Joeand God bless everyone who's
who's been listening to this.

SPEAKER_00 (28:29):
Well, thank you so much.
And and it's clear that God hasblessed us all, that we've all
found each other, that we'rehaving this conversation.
And Rebby, again, I want you togive tell people the title of
your book and where to find it,because I'm looking forward to
getting a copy myself andreading it.
But this is important.

(28:50):
You've you've put your thoughtsin this beautiful place, you've
created a uh a tool for peopleto help find solve answers.
And not everybody goes andcreates a community themselves
very well.
Some people um find answers byreading a book like yours.
So why don't you tell us onemore time about that?
Sure.

SPEAKER_01 (29:07):
I I would I would love for you all to to read
about the book.
This book is called Happy Soul,Hungry Mind.
Uh, you can go to my website,Spirituality Within, or all the
social media channels that Ihave.
The the handle is SpiritualityWithin.
On Amazon, you can buy this bookuh in hard copy, in Kindle, or

(29:29):

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
