Let’s play a little mind game this morning. If you were the devil, how would you win souls? We’ve been taught to picture Satan as a hideous creature — red skin, horns, and a tail — but that’s not the Bible’s description. Scripture says he masquerades as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). This means he can appear appealing, inspiring, and even godly. He can preach, sing, serve, smile, and seduce — all while scheming.
Satan can take the form of anything, and here’s the kicker — he’s well aware of what’s appealing to you. He has studied our habits, our patterns, our pain points, likes, and dislikes. He knows what peaks our interest and how to impress us.
While most believers don’t take the time to study his tactics, he’s been studying ours since Eden. He knows our type, our trigger, and our taste. He knows what flattering words feed our egos. He knows what to offer to bait your greed, and what version of “truth” to present that won’t raise your suspicion.
