Speaker 1 (00:00):
Okay, let's do that.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
You want me to read this novel.
I do because you know I can't,because if not we'll be here
like I record again, start again, start again.
Okay, welcome to the snackableand delicious content to ease
your weekly curiosity.
I'm Kristen Werner, I nailedthat word.
I'm with Mia, and today we are, every single week, bringing you

(00:22):
delicious, bite-sized snackablepieces of content to help you
in your content journey.
Now, today we have a little bitof a different one.
It's not so much a question butan incredible statement, I
suppose that one of our membersput into the facebook group, so
me is going to read out thelittle novel because we wanted
to share it with you.
We think it's really, reallyimportant whether you're
whatever creator journey you'reon, um, it's really really
important whether you'rewhatever creative journey you're

(00:44):
on.
It's just a beautiful reminderthat you've got this.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Really I do.
Yeah, I should have my glasseson, but here we go, let's go.
So I want to share somethinghere, as I feel some of you
might relate.
Two weeks ago I had zero UGCgigs for the first time since
January this year.
I was also spending a lot oftime on socials, mainly TikTok,
doom scrolling, and I felt myenergy shift to a negative space

(01:10):
.
I felt anxious and edgy andthen no UGC work.
This is my main form of income,so obviously you know you're
kind of stressing out.
I realized the impact mymindset was having on me and did
an overnight shift no socialmedia in the morning, early walk
or workout, journal andmanifestation and gratefulness.

(01:31):
In 24 hours I landed thehighest paying gig with a major
US brand, as well as five othersmaller gigs, some repeat
customers.
From zero gigs to five booked, with one day of changing my
mindset.
This shit is real.
Mindset is everything.
I'm going to stop testing atheory and go all in on my other
goals now, as I can feel a hugedifference in how I feel the

(01:54):
past few days.
She nailed it on the headMindset is everything, and this
conversation has come up a fewtimes in our membership and
every time it does.
I feel like whenever you have amind shift, change, something
happens, something comes, andI've experienced it as well.

(02:17):
Totally so it's a good reminder.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
And especially when you're in the content space,
creating content for yourself, creating content as a UGC
creator, whatever it may be weall fall into this bucket of
consuming too much content.
And the second that we startconsuming too much content, we
get in our heads, we starttelling ourselves stories that
we're not good enough, we can'tcreate the content we want, and
you know.
So that in itself is part ofthat, so that in itself is part

(02:41):
of that.
And when you take that shiftand I love how you know she's
mentioned that there's no socialmedia in the morning she gets
up, moves her body and kind ofcleans the day, cleanses the day
and then gets on with it.
I think that's really smart.
We've got another creator I knowin our community who's
mentioned that she's decidedfrom, I think, 8 pm there's no
social media from then on.
So you know, there's littlethings that we can do to.

(03:04):
You know, social media is suchan incredible gift to us as a
content creator.
It's an incredible gift whenused correctly, but it's also
such a big thing that we consumeso much that it can really stop
us and paralyze us fromcreating better content,
connecting, even just living.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
Yeah, and I get the same either.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Yeah, like I've got ADHD so I do a lot of doom
scrolling.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
it's doom scrolling, I enjoy it and it's entertaining
, but gotta see this, gotta seethis, gotta see this at two
o'clock in the morning.
But you just gotta have someboundaries.
And I find the more I consume, the less creative I get, because
I'm not so much comparingmyself to others, but I don't
know.
It kind of just drains mycreativity the more that I

(03:52):
consume.
And I guess it's this whole mindshift as well.
If you think, oh, I've got noUGC jobs, nothing's coming in,
nothing's going my way, I'm sodesperate for money, like this
is like what am I going to do?
That energy is probably goingto come across in not only your
content but your life, and it'sall this woo-woo kind of

(04:12):
vibrational shit that I reckonis real.
The minute you shift that andthen start putting a different
energy out there, things change.
I swear it's real.
It's hard to explain.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
Well, it's that whole law of attraction and all of
that, that.
I'm definitely no expert in, butthe more I listen to it, the
more I consume it.
I understand that it is, but Ialso know that, as much as I
love it and understand it,there's also moments where you
are just so in your own headthat you're like, well, it's
just, it's crap, it doesn't makesense, this is bullshit, like
it's not, it's not a real thing.

(04:46):
And then all of a sudden, if youcan just change that and it
might be just a small thing thatyou're doing for me personally,
if I ever start thinking andfeeling like that, I know that
I've got to move my body.
I know I've got to get out tothe gym something, because I'm
holding this stagnant energy.
That's just, it's like a bearon my back and as soon as I do

(05:07):
that, life's better, it'samazing, like I'm just the best
thing ever.
So it's, it's really.
And then the good things comefrom that.
So I think that's such animportant statement to that she
dropped into the group and justto let everybody kind of have
that moment with it, yeah, yeahand it's totally normal to go
through these kind of flatphases where you're like, oh,
this is not working, like what'sgoing on.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
But it's having that self-awareness to go okay, this
is where my energy is at themoment and I need to shift that
for anything to work.
You're not really going tobecome successful and have
things come for you or to you ifyour mind is not ready and open
for it.
So having that awareness to getyourself out of it is really
important when you're a contentcreator, because it's so easy to

(05:50):
fall in the trap of this isn'tworking, my content sucks.
What's wrong with me?
Everyone else is getting jobs.
Why not me?
So it's your kind ofresponsibility to try and get
yourself out of it.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
your kind of responsibility to try and get
yourself out of it.
Yeah, and it's also just beingreally self-aware that what
you're consuming online is partof somebody's story.
So they might not be postingthe days that aren't working.
They might not be posting.
You know everybody's going tobe posting their highlight reel,
as we all know, but you knowthe wins when you get financial
wins and people put incomeclaims and stuff like that.

(06:22):
That's not everyday commonality, but people have them stored in
their screenshots in theirphone to put them up when
they're like, oh, I'm just goingto promote this today.
So it's not a normal thing.
And I think that's wherecreating content and consuming
too much content becomes aproblem is not being able to see
the light and shade, and that'swhere for me, like I said,
going for a walk, going for arun I can then come back with a

(06:48):
completely different view oflike oh, it's fine, I was just
reading way too much into thator something.
So I suppose to leave you withfor this episode if you're
starting to feel like that, putyour phone down or start walking
because you're listening to thepodcast, go for a walk, get
outside, go for a walk and maybeput a little bit of a rules on
yourself, that's, you know, nosocial media in the morning or
after a certain time at night orsomething like that that just
stops you from picking up yourphone, is just a small like

(07:11):
start small.
You don't need to change theworld, you just need to start
with one thing and see if thathelps.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
Yep, exactly Sweet, good message.
All right, see you next weekSee you See, you Podcast.
