Tiffany Woolley (00:44):
Welcome to
today's iDesignLab tidbit.
We're talking about theindustry of design, which is
about interior design andanything to do with that
Architecture, furniture, fabric, all the layers that go into
interior design and AI.
Scott Woolley (01:06):
AI.
It's a big subject these days.
Tiffany Woolley (01:08):
AI is a huge
subject right now, and the
reason I wanted to bring it upon today's tidbit is something
that really stuck out to me in apodcast I was listening to is
one of the industries that isnot going to be hit by AI, but
only enhanced by AI, is theindustry of the architectural
(01:34):
interior design world.
Scott Woolley (01:36):
So when you say,
hit jobs aren't going to be lost
, correct Jobs aren't going tobe lost.
Tiffany Woolley (01:41):
People aren't
going to be replaced, because
it's an intellectual propertythat is creative and also
hands-on number one.
And you know it's funny becauseeven in our office, for example
, when, like, chatgpt first cameout, you know the CAD team and
(02:02):
the 3D digital team was kind ofplaying around with oh, let me
put this in you know AI and seewhat comes out, and especially
when you're creating things fromor enhancing something that
already exists, ai can't readthat.
Scott Woolley (02:20):
Right, they can't
see it.
But they also can't see thevision of what the client is
looking for and wants or likes.
Tiffany Woolley (02:27):
Right, and they
can't be hand-holding through
the process, meaning job sitevisits.
You know what I mean On-the-flyelectrical changes, plumbing
changes.
Scott Woolley (02:37):
These are things
that are still only human beings
can actually… Because it allcomes down to the tastes and the
needs of the client or theindividual.
Tiffany Woolley (02:50):
Well, and the
details of execution as well.
So it's funny, as we have thispodcast that we do enjoy and we
bring in as much industryinsiders as we can, the business
itself, and we talk about thisand it's one of our frequent
questions about, you know, growth and the industry and AI
and you know, is this going tobe something that our industry
(03:12):
is affected by?
And it's such a relationshipbusiness.
So I don't, which is anotherfacet of why AI can't really you
can't have a relationship withAI, at least yet.
I know movies like to predictthat people will, but this
industry is built onrelationships and it's a very
(03:39):
hands-on industry industry and Iwant the world to know, you
know, through this podcast, which I want to educate people
on, just the growth that isstill untapped in this interior
design.
Scott Woolley (03:54):
Because there's
so many people that don't
realize that an interior designfirm can bring so much to the
table and, at the end of the day, save dollars Well add value
and save dollars.
Tiffany Woolley (04:05):
And that goes
from every level of the industry
, from kitchen design, closetdesign, all of these types of
things.
You still, even if an AI isgiving you a kitchen design idea
, to implement it to the enduser, you need people, it to the
end user, you need people.
So I really want to put out inthe world that this industry,
(04:34):
you know, should spark somepeople's.
You know, coming out of schoolor even like during our podcast,
they talk about hands on to thetrades.
I mean, you mentioned even justwallpaper hangers.
These are art and they areagain a hands-on, needed,
individual Right.
Scott Woolley (04:49):
Well.
Chatgbt will help companies andfirms and individuals in
communicating back and forth andcrafting great emails and
letters and things like that andefficiency.
Tiffany Woolley (05:19):
Yes, and
efficiency, but not you know,
and I feel like it you reallyare a self-promoted entrepreneur
.
I mean, there's so many facetsthat I just feel like are so
untapped and most people justdon't even know about, and
that's my tidbit for today isthat this is really a special
industry and they're surroundedby relationships and, most
(05:44):
likely, beautiful things.
And talented people andinnovation talented people, that
you're surrounded by so manypositive attributes.
Why not give it a look?
Scott Woolley (05:55):
So Good input.
Voice Over (05:57):
That's my tidbit for
