What if the place you've been trying to get back to is actually you? Not the you that pleases others or performs for acceptance, but the raw, honest, wildly worthy you beneath all the conditioning. This essential question forms the heart of a deeply resonant exploration into authentic selfhood.

Many of us equate power with cutting people off or establishing firm boundaries—valid steps in our healing journey. Yet deeper than that lies a more profound truth: real power isn't about controlling how others treat you but about fearlessly embodying who you truly are. When you stop second-guessing every word and gesture, when you simply allow yourself to be felt rather than performing what you think others want, something remarkable happens. Your presence lands differently. Your energy speaks a language beyond words.

This episode guides you through the difference between intellectual understanding and embodied wisdom, offering a gentle mindfulness practice to reconnect with your essential nature. We explore how tenderness isn't weakness but a different kind of strength—one that holds clarity and doesn't need to shout to be known. For those feeling overwhelmed by the demands of human-made systems and expectations, this episode offers a sacred reminder: you don't owe these constructs your soul. Your body carries the waters, minerals, and breath of the earth to which you truly belong. When the world feels too loud, too rigid, or too demanding, you can always return to breath, to body, to soul—to you. There's no place like that.

If this resonates, please like, share, and leave a review. It helps others find this space and lets me know these words are landing where they're meant to.

NatNat (00:01):
Hey love, welcome back to the Lift when Self podcast.
I'm your host, nat Nat, andwhether you've been here many
times or this is your first timelanding in this space, I want
to say welcome home.
This podcast isn't about fixingyourself.
It's not about chasing someideal version of healing.
It's about returning to thetruth that's always been

(00:22):
underneath it all, to the placeinside you that never needed to
prove, perform or be perfect tobelong.
If this resonates, please like, share and leave a review.
It helps more people find thisspace and it lets me know it's
landing where it's meant to.
I pulled a card before sittingdown to record and it was called

(00:45):
no Place Like Home, and it feltdeeply personal.
Yet it also felt collective, like a frequency that needed to
be voiced right now.
And what came through in thatmoment was this question that I
think many of us are holdingwhat if the place you've been
trying to get back to isactually you, not the you that

(01:08):
pleases, not the you thatperforms, yet the raw, honest,
wildly worthy you?
Beneath all the oldconditioning, many of us feel
empowered when we say I'mcutting people off, I'm choosing
better.
They won't do that to meanymore, and that's valid, yet
deeper than that.
Real power is not about tellingother people how to treat you.

(01:32):
It's about not being afraid tobe you fully, softly, without
apology, owning your energy soothers can feel that language of
who you truly are.
Last week, I had severalmoments that invited me to
practice this, to come back intobeing me instead of what I
thought people wanted me to be,to stop second guessing my every

(01:55):
word or tone, to simply be felt, and what I noticed was how
this amplified the space I couldhold for clients and in podcast
recordings.
There's a difference betweenoffering kindness to someone and
simply being kind.
One is effort, the other isessence.
It's about embodiment.

(02:15):
Many of us stay in theintellectual, yet the invitation
is to drop into the wisdom ofthe body, into lived experience,
which is knowing.
And whether you speak or staysilent, people feel you.
When you arrive, your presencelands.
When you leave, your energylingers.

(02:36):
This isn't about image, it'sabout frequency, it's about
sensation, it's aboutremembering that you are home.
So let's take a moment toactually feel that.
Will you join me in a mindfulmoment?
Now?
Get comfortable in your seatingand, if it's safe to do so,

(02:57):
gently close your eyes, if it'snot just soften your focus and
bring awareness inward.
Take a deep breath in throughyour nose and slowly exhale
through your mouth.
Place one hand on your chest, one hand on your belly and just

(03:19):
notice where am I right now.
Not your to-do list, not yourstory, not your conditioning,
just you.
Breathe into the space beneathyour hand.
Let the breath remind you oflife inside you.

(03:43):
Let the breath say I am stillhere in this body, in this
moment, in this return.
Say inwardly, if it resonates,I am safe to be me, I am safe to
soften, my sensitivity issacred.

(04:05):
My tenderness is powerful.
Allow yourself to take a fewmore deep breaths in and letting
your exhale be longer than yourinhale, and when you're ready,
you're going to gently open youreyes and stay with your breath.

(04:26):
Let's come back together.
You don't have to harden tosurvive.
You don't have to pretend to beokay in order to be lovable.
You don't have to pretend to beokay in order to be lovable.
You don't have to shrink justto keep others comfortable.
Your tenderness is not feeble.
It holds clarity, it holdswisdom, it holds the kind of

(04:50):
strength that doesn't need toshout to be known.
And when I speak about the world, I'm not talking about the
earth, because, yes, your bodyis of this earth.
It carries its waters, minerals, stories and breath.
You belong to it.
I'm speaking about thehuman-made world, the systems,

(05:11):
the roles, the expectations, theconstructs that told you who
you should be in order to belovable, to feel productive, to
feel worthy.
But you don't owe those systemsyour soul.
You don't have to be devouredby what was never built for your
truth.
Because, yes, you are in thisworld, yet you are not of it.

(05:34):
And when the world feels tooloud, too rigid, too demanding,
you can return to breath, tobody, to soul, to you.
There's no place like that.
Until next time, remember to bekind to yourself, stay soft and

(05:56):
keep lifting oneself.
Remember time is a tool, not atoy.
Use it wisely.
