Let's be real, faith and sexuality often do not go well. In most religions, we are taught that there is a correct way of living and anything other than that will result in eternal damnation.

In this episode, Sonya talks about her journey towards exploring and understanding sexuality and balancing faith. It is not an easy thing to do and she talks about how there is no one way to do it. We are all affected differently by religion towards our sense of self and sexuality. Hence, we have different learning curves.

By accepting this diversity and having that openness to different things may get messy. Sonya emphasizes that being messy is okay. She is still learning how to be more at peace with her sexuality. There is definitely a deep psychological brought by these societal and religious standards. So, it is okay to spend your lifetime unlearning and learning different virtues and beliefs.
