Lachlan Stuart (00:00):
Welcome back to the man that Can Project podcast
For those who are tuning in.
Thank you so much for beinghere Every week.
I am now back in a role and I'mhaving more of you reach out
and share some takeaways andeven add and ask questions
around the topics that we'retalking about.
I'm in probably one of the mostchaotic periods of my life and

(00:20):
it's so exciting.
I was talking with a clientliterally just a moment ago and
it's so exciting.
I was talking with a clientliterally just a moment ago and
it's very easy to seeopportunity as pressure and it
completely changes the wholeexperience of what's in front of
you.
The reason why I say that is alot of my life.
When I was younger, I wasallowing the negative emotions

(00:43):
and the limiting beliefs to winthe thoughts around.
You're not good enough, you'rea failure.
You're weak Because in previoustimes I wasn't good enough.
There was so many experienceswhere I wasn't good enough to
make a team and I allowed thatto define who I was, not just be
a stepping stone.
There were periods where Iwasn't strong enough.

(01:05):
I folded under peer pressureand once again, I allowed that
to define who I was, not use itas a learning point, and there
have been plenty of times whereI have failed and I allowed that
to define me as a failure.
Rather than using that as alesson, what I choose to do now
is I choose to know that, thoughit's still there and it always

(01:27):
will be, but I like to put it inmy pocket, and the way that I
keep it in my pocket is I flipor invert those negative
thoughts and emotions, and notonly just, you know, try and
think myself to a better life.
I then go okay, I am a success,I am good enough, and because I
believe that about myself, I'mable to take action towards the

(01:49):
things that are important to me.
And there are so many thingshappening at the moment, and I
trust that there would be thingshappening in your life as well,
and, depending on what frame ofmind you're in at the moment,
you may be absolutely crushingit, and I would call that summer
.
Summer is the time whereeverything you do turns to gold.
You're surrounded and supportedby loved ones.

(02:11):
You just feel like life isreally happening for you.
It's a great feeling, it's agreat space to be in, and some
of you maybe, in winter, itfeels like you just can't get
any momentum.
You feel like you're not worthy, you're not being supported,
and that's not a fun place to be.
I've been in both of those andI do believe that life is

(02:33):
seasonal.
Around every corner is the nextseason and we need to be
prepared for that and withinthat, I think it allows us to
stay humble in the tough timesand not get ahead of ourself in
the Sorry, that is humble, youknow not get our head blown up
when we're going well and notallow ourself to get stuck in a

(02:56):
rut when things aren't goingwell, because just around the
corner is the next opportunity.
So, for me, one thing that I'msuper excited to share with you
guys is the InnerTrack scorecard.
A decade ago, had I had this, itpotentially would have helped
me avoid hitting rock bottom.

(03:17):
I put myself in a positionwhere I destroyed my life and
when I say that, that's blowingit out of proportion, but I hit
what I would call my rock bottom.
My life couldn't get any worse,and I did that because I didn't
understand what was missing.
I felt confused, I felt lost, Ididn't feel good enough and I

(03:39):
was looking for masking agentsAt the time.
I was looking to drink away thepain.
I was looking to sleep away theinsecurity and the loneliness,
Rather than being able to assessthe different domains of my
life and go okay, from a healthperspective, life's good.
You're lacking purpose, youdon't have the best
relationships, and that'sincluding the relationship with

(04:00):
yourself.
So here's some work that youcould do, so I've created this
scorecard that is available toyou.
It'll take under two minutes togo through and get a quick
reading.
Now, if you like that, it'sgoing to give you some.
You know, depending on how youscore, there's three levels.
There's green, amber and red.
Red means we probably want tomake some changes and I'll

(04:20):
suggest some changes there.
Amber is things are going wellwe could improve.
And green is life's goingawesome.
We can still improve.
I think we always need to begrowing.
There's going to be suggestionsthere.
But what will then happen isyou'll get some automated emails
from me and I'm not going tosit here and say that I'm doing
every email, because that justwouldn't be good use of my time

(04:40):
but it will then ask you to takea more detailed one.
For those of you who want to doa more detailed one, it's 29
questions.
It's a lot more specific.
So then, rather than justsuggesting which area or which
domain of life from mindset tohealth, the relationships to
personal growth it'll give youactionable steps, like key steps
from your life, which I thinkis cool.

(05:01):
So that's free and you can dothat now, and I'm super excited
because what that will thenenable me to do is create more
specific content to help youguys right.
Firstly, not everyone can workwith me for a number of reasons,
and that's on both sides.
I'm not the right fit foreveryone pricing, availability,

(05:22):
so many things and for some ofyou, you just don't want to work
with me.
You just want to get resultsand do it yourself, which is
completely fine.
So this will enable you to dothat, and I'm so excited to see
you guys take that quiz.
The link is going to beattached below, or you can find
it on my Instagram or it'sactually currently getting
embedded on the website, but itis something, as I said, I'm

(05:43):
super excited about.
I believe it's an opportunityto help more people, and I'm
very excited to get thatfeedback and see how we can best
serve you guys.
The other thing is we have thedocumentary coming out For me so
grateful for the opportunitythat we crushed the 58 marathons
, and to have that story comeinto cinemas or on one night

(06:03):
only, but it's gonna be out issomething that I'm very proud of
.
To tell the story and to havethe team around resilience
sharing how we stacked the smallwins, how we built this plan
and overcame limited beliefs andinjuries and everything like
that and really showed and grewresilience to achieve that
outcome is such a coolexperience, and I look forward

(06:27):
to sharing that with you guys.
The final thing is KeynotesPlenty of keynotes.
I've spent literally four hourstoday practicing the keynote.
I don't just want to be aspeaker.
I want to be someone who hasgreat stories to tell around the
things that I care about, butcan do it in a way that moves

(06:48):
you, you resonate and you feelsomething.
You feel empowered to change.
That's what I'm excited about,and so I believe it's a craft.
I believe I have to keeppracticing ad hoc all the time
to get better, and that is alesson for life.
If you want to be great atsomething, how much time are you
investing into being great?

(07:09):
Because I think of it like thisI may get headstarts and
opportunities based off ofthings, and I do believe I've
put myself into a position nowwhere I do get opportunities
that I wouldn't have gotten adecade ago, but I also pat
myself on the back for becomingthe person who gets those
opportunities.
The second thing is I'm verymindful with those opportunities

(07:30):
that I don't want to just walkinto opportunity and be
underdone.
I want to be exceptional at thethings that I commit to doing.
There's not many things that Iwant to commit to doing, moving
forward, that are from a workstandpoint.
I just want to be an incrediblekeynote speaker and I want to
be a world-class coach whoreally transforms men's lives.
And if I can do the otherthings that provide value for

(07:51):
you guys by giving you thescorecard which you can get in
the link below, and give yousome free resources and tools
that will help you improve yourlife, then that's what I'm about
, because I want to help yourebuild from the inside out.
I believe that in a trackscorecard is going to be the
thing that does that for you.
So thank you guys forsupporting I have plenty of
opportunity, as I said, and Ibelieve you do too.

(08:13):
What lens are you going to lookat your life through?
We're here for a short time, soare you going to look at your
life through.
We're here for a short time, soare you going to step forward
and step up and look at itthrough a lens where you have
the opportunity to buildsomething that you're truly
grateful for?
And if you can look at that ina couple of steps, I would say
set a goal.
Set a goal that is compelling.
Set a goal that makes you feelgenuinely excited.

(08:37):
For me, just doing the 58states wasn't like it was
exciting I'm not going to lie toyou there but it wasn't as
exciting as when I said how goodwould this be to also share the
story and document the mentalhealth journey that I was going
to experience.
It would be even better if weset a huge fundraising goal, and

(08:57):
then it would be even better ifI had some of my mates come
with me.
That then became so compellingthat I was prepared to walk
through brick walls in order tomake that happen.
The next thing is understandingthat you have a choice from here
on out, after listening to this, what are you going to do with
your life?
Are you going to stay where youare or are you going to

(09:18):
continue to grow?
Because quite often, theshort-term answer is I want to
stay where I am because it'scomfortable.
You see, the problem withcomfort is in the long-term.
It has consequences.
We become soft, we becomeoverweight, we have a weak
mindset, our relationshipsdeteriorate.
The flip side the better choiceto make is in the moment.

(09:38):
It may mean you have to havetough conversations.
It may mean you don't hit thesnooze button in the morning.
It may mean you lift heavierthan you've ever lifted, but the
consequences, the long-termimpact of that is you become
fitter and healthier, yourmarriage gets better, your life
gets better and I think that ismuch more exciting and finally

(09:59):
stack some small wins.
What is something that you areable to do right now that is
going to move you towards whereyou want to get to and
understand that if you can dothat thing and then ask yourself
that same question once you'vedone that thing and you keep
stacking, win after win afterwin, you're going to become
better and better and betteruntil you end up creating a life

(10:21):
that you did not even think waspossible for you, and I'm
excited to hear about that.
I'm excited for you guys tofollow the journey.
I'm excited to meet plenty ofyou guys, so I want to leave you
with this Go, take thescorecard.
I'm super proud of it.
I do believe it's going to adda lot of value to you.
If you do take it, give mefeedback.

(10:43):
Would you like a few morequestions on that one?
Was the landing page a bitcrummy?
Just give me feedback, becauseI want it to be a free resource
that you can use to improve yourlife.
Thank you, guys, for being here.
Have a Ripper week.
I'll see you next week.
