As a woman of color facing worse healthcare outcomes, Courtney Williams thought she was going to become a statistic when she fell ill in the days after giving birth. Instead, she survived, and what she experienced helped inspire her POV on how technology (like pregnancy apps) can do more than provide cute diversions but serve real women's needs, especially in the increasingly deadly postpartum period. Courtney is also the award-winning CEO of Emagine and has previously written for Fast Company about the maternal mortality crisis. Emagine is a prize-winning alumnus of Pharrell Williams’ Black Ambition Program.
