Welcome to another episode of Mental Health Multiverse: A podcast where we mindfully break down your pop culture favs and discuss them through the lens of self care, mental health, and personal development.

This week on MHM we are talking about Disney’s ENCANTO, a movie about a Colombian family and their magical gifts (or lack thereof) with our FIRST guest of the season, Cindy aka The Yummy Geek!

Cindy Mesa is a 38-year old Latina mom of two awesome kids. She’s been cosplaying since she met her husband back in 2006. By day, she works for VOLUME, a platform that supports artists and hosts live streams. She’s all about content creation to keep the creative juices flowing. Her passion project, #FoodandCosplay, highlights local restaurants in a unique way, blending her love for food and cosplay!

You can follow her on Instagram @theyummygeek!

Questions, themes, and topics we touch on include:

  • Intergenerational trauma
  • Family dynamics
  • The pressures of familial and societal expectations
  • Importance of community
  • Navigating self-doubt and self-sacrifice
  • Diversity
  • Authenticity
  • Which Madrigal gift would you want?
  • And much, much more!
