As little girls, we want to be rescued. We want to be the damsel in distress, the princess twirling in her pretty dress. Who do we picture rescuing us? The strong, confident, capable, masculine man!

Modern (extreme) feminism has come along to say we no longer need a man. They tell us, we are 100% equal and that “anything they can do, I can do better.” The honest truth is, we can’t. Now, don’t get me wrong. I absolutely 1,000% consider myself a feminist! I believe in equal opportunity and freedom of choice. I take so much pride in being able to CHOOSE my role as a SAHM. However, I also find pride in having found a partner who helps support me in this role which we’ve chosen is best for our family. He makes my life better, easier in some ways, and more joyful.

My goal for this episode is to debunk the idea that needing a man is weak. I want to show the perspective of a strong woman who is proud to rely on a strong man. There is so much value in a relationship where each partner can lean into their masculine and feminine roles. As a society, these partnerships need to be celebrated, not shunned. Men enrich our lives, provide support in different ways, and, let’s be honest…help us open that pickle jar when we can’t quite get it ourselves.
