To know how to break free of porn addiction, we start by exploring the deep pain underneath the surface. Porn cravings come as a result of mental and emotional pain. Everyone deals with this pain to one extent or another. When we struggle with addiction, it simply means that this pain has reached a more intense/frequent stage than it has for some.
For this reason, there is no shame in porn addiction. It simply means our ego - our mind - sought out a way to cope with mental and emotional pain, and it chose pornography addiction as a way to do that.
If we want to stop watching porn, it requires us to find forgiveness for ourselves and others. This is a major part recovery.
