If you work long enough as an actor in Hollywood,
there's a decent chance you'll make some great movies and
some duds. And Nicholas Cage openly admits not every project
he started in is exactly a must see, particularly in
the twenty ten when he seemed to sign on to
any VOD movie he was offered. But he tells sixty
Minutes he has zero regrets because it was necessary to
stay afloat, saying I was over invested in real estate.

The real estate market crash and I couldn't get out
in time. I paid them all back, but it was
about six million dollars. I never filed for bankruptcy. It
was dark, sure, but work was always my guardian angel.
It may not have been blue chip work, but it
was still work. Even if the movie ultimately turned out crummy.
They know I'm not phoning it in and that I
care every time. Nick ads while some of those movies

were bad, being forced to take creative risks led him
to making some films he considers among the best he's
ever made, including Mandy Pig and The Unbearable Weights of
