Hi is Stefania over at positive informations and audio stories
bringing you happy thoughts, motivation, entertainment, and inspiration. Today we've
got a very short poem, a very short story. You

probably have heard it before. It's about the starfish. But
it doesn't hurt to hear it again if you ever
already heard it, because at every different time in our lives,
we might hear the same thing, but we hear it differently.
(00:43):
Different points stand out as we have matured over time
or had different experiences that bring different things to mind
when we hear these old familiar words.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
Let's listen the starfish story. An old man was walking
on the beach one morning after a storm. In the distance,
he could see someone moving like a dancer. As he
(01:21):
came closer, he saw that it was a young woman
picking up starfish and gently throwing them into the ocean.
Young lady, why are you throwing starfish into the ocean?
The sun is going up and the tide is going out,
(01:45):
and if I did not throw them in, they would die,
she said, But.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
Young lady, do you not realize that there are many
miles of beach and thousands of starfish. You cannot possibly
make a difference. The young woman listened politely, then bent down,
picked up another starfish and threw it into the sea.
(02:15):
It made a difference for that one.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
We are like that starfish. No matter how unimportant we
think we are, We are important to someone somewhere now
or in the future, or even in our past. And
(02:45):
always we are important to ourselves. We count, We are
good enough, we matter. Feel free to spread the news
