Welcome to Day 21 of the 30-Day “Living an Authentic Life Challenge.” I am Tanya E. Hood and today for this 30-Day Challenge we will be discussing Next Level Notes. If you come across a moment in life when you want to rebuild, restart, or reset, then it often requires some help greater than yourself to make it come to pass. The thing that helped me when I encountered this moment was just believing in God's promises. I've been in numerous situations in my life where I needed to restore covenant practices in order to find a solution to get through the journey. A Next Level Note is part of a covenant between you and God. There are promises God has made that he will keep no matter what. Let me take a quick moment and define covenant. A covenant is an agreement between two parties based upon mutual promises. Some people may be thinking that a contract and a covenant are the same thing, but they're not. Here are some fundamental differences: A contract is an agreement between parties while a covenant is a pledge. A contract is an agreement you can break while a covenant is a perpetual promise. You seal a covenant while you sign a contract. A contract is a mutually beneficial relationship while a covenant is something you fulfill. A contract exchanges one good for another, while a covenant is giving oneself to the other. You can opt out of a contract while a covenant is about having the strength to hold up your part of the promise. One can stop paying in a contract when one party is not fulling their part in a deal. However, in a covenant, the party not getting their needs met supports the failing party so that they can meet their obligations. i.e. everyone helps to keep the covenant. Covenants are trust-based promises that rely on your integrity and discipline. While contracts are enforceable by the courts, covenants depend on your values. Overall a covenant is a better way to build relationships both in business and in life because in a covenant you must hold up your promise even if others do not hold up their pledge. I love that God includes himself in covenants with us. I am still in awe of it because he knows we will fail on our end, yet knowing this he still enters into the agreement and sustains us. I have asked heaven to intervene based off of the promise that God made in his covenant with me where God said he would never leave me nor forsake me. I called God on that because there were plenty of times in my life I felt alone. When God said that he would provide for and protect me, I called him on that because I have been left without provisions or protection. When God said he was a mother to the motherless and a father to the fatherless, I call them on that because I needed him in both of those instances. You see Next Level Notes sustain me! Next Level Notes keep me! Next Level Notes is how I make it through! No matter how powerful you are or how much prestige you have there will come a time when you will have no control and can do absolutely nothing about your situation. It is in those moments that you are going to need a covenant keeper. I want to encourage you to let God be your covenant keeper because when you fail he won't. When others around you give up, He'll still be there. When you are on your last leg, He will still help you make it through!
