We have a special December series for you. Each day a short mind renewal meditation will be released, lasting about five minutes. We hope these encourage you to press-in closer to Jesus this year.

Facing the new year with courage can feel daunting, especially after the emotional highs and lows of the holiday season. In this final episode of the year and our December series, we open up about our own struggles with disappointment and fear, and how we've sought strength in Scripture.
Join us as we reflect on the unwavering presence of God, exploring His assurances through heartfelt prayer and scripture. We share our honest conversations with the Lord about the challenges we face and the courage we need to overcome them. Our prayer is that this episode offers you a beacon of hope and a deeper connection with Jesus, empowering you to trust in His plan.

(00:55):
.
Lord, jesus, we come to you nowbecause we have a need for
courage.
You know, lord, that lots andlots of emotions came up over
Christmas.
There was so much to do, therewas so much busyness, and you
know, lord, that I wasdisappointed and that I grieved,

(01:17):
and that there were some reallydifficult things that happened
even amongst the joys that werethere as well.
Lord, we need you.
We need you in this seasonafter Christmas, as we celebrate
the new year, as we begin a newyear with you.
Lord, when I look ahead into myfuture, I wonder how will I ever

(01:39):
get through it.
Lord, a lot of things scare meabout my future.
Lord, we want to lay thesethings at your feet and we want
to think your thoughts after you.
When I let my thoughts spin andspin, lord, they just take me
down.
They take me down into despairand fear and a place that I

(02:01):
don't want to be.
Lord, I want to be thinkingyour thoughts.
I want to be trusting you.
I want to know what you sayabout courage.
Isaiah 41 10.
So do not fear, for I am withyou.
Do not be dismayed, for I amyour God.

(02:22):
I will strengthen you and helpyou.
I will uphold you with myrighteous right hand.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Lord, god, I thank you that your word promises that
you have not given us a spiritof fear, but of love, power and
a sound mind.
Lord, where I have fear, I justsaid that before you I
surrender that to you.
I ask God that you wouldinstead replace it with courage,

(02:53):
lord, courage to face, intolooking at some of the
challenges that I haven'thandled well, looking and
learning, and courage to goforward, into what's next, into
situations where I don't feelconfidence, especially after the
way that I feel like I'vedisappointed myself previously.

(03:15):
Lord, I just need to know thatI can lean into you, and your
word certainly tells me that Ican.
Thank you for Deuteronomy 31.8.
That says you, lord, go beforeme and you are with me.
You will never leave me and youwill not forsake me.
You've encouraged me to not beafraid and to not be discouraged

(03:39):
.
Thank you, lord.
Your words encourage my heart.
They do.
They instill courage in me.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
Lord Jesus, where are you?
Are you close?
Are you near?
Are you engaged with me, lord?
How do I know that you arethere?
Will you tell me, through yourword, where you are?
Tell me, lord, that I can hopein you you are.

(04:07):
Tell me, lord, that I can hopein you.
Tell me, lord, that you have somuch more for me that I can't
even imagine.
Tell me, lord, that you willwalk with me this year and that
I don't have to live in fear, that I can trust you with my
deepest needs and my biggestproblems and my most impossible
challenges.
Help me, lord, to lean into youand rest in your provision,

(04:31):
rest in your love, rest in yourgrace and rest in your strength.
Lord, will you be my strengththis year?
Psalm 27.1.
The Lord is my light and mysalvation.
Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold ofmy life.
Of whom shall I be afraid?

(04:54):
Thank you, god.
Thank you for loving me so well.
Thank you, god.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Lord, I thank you that even now, as I've been
pouring out my heart to you, Iknow that you are answering me.
Your word says that I soughtthe Lord and he answered me.
He delivered me from all of myfears.
Thank you, Lord, for Psalm 34,4 and its reassurance to me.
I'm so grateful.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Lord.
We also read in Philippians 4,7, the peace of God, which
transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your
minds in Christ Jesus, lord.
That is the peace that we arelonging for.
We are longing for the peacethat passes all understanding
and for our hearts to be guarded, our minds to be guarded, our

(05:45):
thoughts to be guarded.
We look to you for that, lord.
And Jeremiah 29, 11, I know theplans I have for you, declares
the Lord plans for welfare andnot for evil, to give you a
future and hope.
Lord, we love that verse.
We look to you for these truths.

(06:05):
This is who you are, this iswhat you do, this is your
character and you will not fail.
The hope wells up in me becauseI know that I am not alone.
Lord, we trust you.
We trust you with this year.
We trust you with our future.
We trust you, lord.
We love you In Jesus' name.

(06:28):
We pray, amen, amen.
