Baby, it's time to Review That Review!
Chelsey Donn (00:30):
Hello.
Trey Gerrald (00:32):
Oh hi, and
welcome to Review That Review.
We are the podcast that is dedicated to reviewing
Chelsey Donn (00:40):
Reviews,
Trey Gerrald (00:44):
that is Chelsey Donn,
Chelsey Donn (00:46):
and that is Trey.
Gerrald.
Trey Gerrald (00:49):
but together we are.
Voiceover (00:51):
The Review Queens.
Chelsey Donn (00:54):
That's right.
Trey Gerrald (00:55):
Oh, 'I
just turned it into an old Southern
Chelsey Donn (00:58):
liked it.
Trey Gerrald (00:59):
uh oh.
ChelseyBD, it's your week forgetting stuff off your chest.
Are, are you ready to just let an exhale out and
Voiceover (01:06):
A' complaints.
Chelsey Donn (01:08):
'I Am.
Try 'I.
Have another real time Complaintthat has me very heated you guys.
First of all, I'm just gonnabegin with targeted reviews, okay?
'I.
Clearly 'I get all theweight loss targeted reviews.
So 'I probably got about not evenexaggerating, 'I think two A' hundred
personal ads for Infinity Hoop, which we've
like kind of talked about A' little bit
on the pod with Granny's offer, A' rocker.
(01:39):
So.
'I finally was like, you know what?
'I need to do some more cardio.
'I.
Think it was actually MemorialDay when 'I bought it.
It was on sale.
'I went ahead and did it.
Trey Gerrald (01:52):
Where are you getting the ads?
Chelsey Donn (01:53):
Instagram mostly, but also Facebook.
I'm not on Facebook as much, so mostly Instagram.
All right.
I'm at work and 'I get A' text message from A'company called Piggy Ship with like no information
about what piggy ship is trying to send me.
But they just text me and they're like, Hey,piggy ship is having trouble delivering your item.
(02:14):
Here's like, A' link to the tracking andhere's the phone number for the driver so
that you can give them more information.
'I googled it to make sure it wasn't like spam.
So 'I call the, the guy and he is like, oh,sorry, like, you're not A', part of my deliveries.
And 'I was like, well that's weirdbecause they gave me your phone number.
(02:34):
And he is like, yeah, um, I'lltry and call the company for you.
'I.
Don't know why they did that, butyeah, no, 'I don't have your delivery.
So then 'I realized that the piggy ship is theInfinity hoop and 'I messaged the Infinity Hoop
customer service because whatever like tracking
they provided me wasn't the U Ss p s tracking.
It was the original tracking from, fromChina, like in whatever service they used.
(02:58):
So it wasn't telling me where it was,it wasn't like it, it was returned
to this post office in Los Angeles.
'I had no way of knowing where is it,even how 'I wanna pick it up by myself.
Nobody's communicating with me.
So 'I kept reaching out to Infinity Hoop, and theykept being like, well, it's A' problem with your
local post office, so you have to deal with it.
And then they provided me with A'tracking number that was incorrect.
(03:20):
And then 'I kept messaging them back and forthand they still have not dealt with this issue.
'I still have paid for A' productthat 'I have not received.
It's been like, Over A' month.
At this point, still no product.
And now 'I have to call my credit card companyand dispute the charge all because 'I was
trying to buy A' product to help my health.
(03:42):
And then when the product isn'tdelivered, you're gonna somehow make
that my problem, like 'I have to be.
Where in the world is Carbon San Diego going?
Where the hell this product is?
It's ridiculous.
I'm so mad.
'I even went.
The tactic of writing them like A' heartfeltemail 'I was just like, you know, 'I was
vulnerable when 'I bought this product.
'I had seen it advertised A' lot.
(04:03):
I'm trying to lose weight, tryingto improve my cardiovascular health.
'I really needed this product and 'Ifeel like it's really wrong that you're
promoting this still A' vulnerable
community and you're not taking care of it.
And I've tried everything that'I can do to get this product.
And the bottom line is, regardless ofwhether or not it's the shipping company
that you use or whatever it is, 'I don't
have the product and 'I paid for it, so
can we please fix this so that 'I don't
associate your company with being just greedy.
(04:30):
People that take advantage of A'vulnerable community, and they were just
like, oh, is this your correct address?
I'm like, yeah, that's my correct address.
And then they started over again with A', like, maybe we should send A' to your post office.
I'm like, I've had thousandsof deliveries to my house.
It's ridiculous.
I'm over it.
I'm mad.
Trey Gerrald (04:48):
'I, hear the Complaint there.
There's A' lot in this Also, 'I am Okay.
If this is A' wellness product, how fuckingdare them use A' company called Piggy Ship
Chelsey Donn (04:59):
Exactly.
Trey Gerrald (05:01):
'I am so upset
Chelsey Donn (05:02):
'I know.
'I know.
That's why 'I was like, piggy ship 'I.
Guess it's the Infinity.
'I.
Guess it's the infinity hoop
'Trey Gerrald: I.
Don't believe that that is coincidence.
That is shameful.
Well, 'I think that
'I was like Googling it kind of.
And 'I want to say piggyship is like A' SoCal thing.
So 'I.
Guess they must like
Trey Gerrald (05:21):
'I mean?
I've never heard of it.
Chelsey Donn (05:22):
'I.
Never heard of it either.
'Trey Gerrald: I, hear the Complaint.
'I agree with you because there is nothingmore frustrating than feeling helpless
of like A' delivery that you've paid for.
There's an expectation, there's A' windowof time, and then it just doesn't show up.
And then you feel like you're the only one that's
having to like, this was like with Costco review.
It's like
(05:42):
I'm now responsible for correcting your error.
No.
that's, and
that's how they handle it.
It's like so smug.
They're like, oh, well, sorry ithappened on the local ship again.
So call your local post office.
I'm like, this is Los Angeles.
There's A' million local post offices.
'I have no idea what post office this is at.
Trey Gerrald (06:00):
Yeah.
That's bullshit.
Chelsey Donn (06:01):
Bullshit.
Awful,
Trey Gerrald (06:03):
I'm sorry.
'I, hear the Complaint 'I.
Hope that you get the delivery
right now
Chelsey Donn (06:06):
A' yy.
Trey Gerrald (06:07):
two minutes.
Chelsey Donn (06:08):
Thank 'I.
Hope so too.
Honestly, 'I really, really do.
But let's exhale 'cause that was A' lot.
Trey Gerrald (06:15):
Woo.
Why don't we jump onto our piggy ship
Chelsey Donn (06:19):
Yes.
Let's do it.
Should we jump into some online reviews?
Trey Gerrald (06:23):
Hope we do.
Let's go.
Chelsey Donn (06:25):
Let's do it.
Voiceover (06:27):
Review, That, Review.
Chelsey Donn (06:31):
As you know, we are your trustee.
Review Queens.
We bring in reviews from the internetthat we feel need to be inspected.
Trey Gerrald (06:38):
We read you A' review, then
we break it down and rate the impact of that
review on A' scale from zero to five crowns.
This is A' very regal process that we call,
Voiceover (06:49):
That, Kvetch.
Chelsey Donn (06:50):
That's right.
And Trey, it is your week.
What have you brought in for us?
Trey Gerrald (06:55):
all right, while speaking of piggy
ship, piggy ship.
Chelsey Donn (07:01):
Yeah.
Trey Gerrald (07:03):
Without even
realizing ChelseyBD, you
created A', beautiful symmetrical circle of love.
Chelsey Donn (07:09):
Okay.
Trey Gerrald (07:10):
What do you think of when
you think of A' Piggy that is on A' ship?
Chelsey Donn (07:17):
Buffets.
Trey Gerrald (07:18):
No, A' Live Piggy
that's sailing on A' ship.
What does that make you think of?
Chelsey Donn (07:23):
Oh my God.
'I.
Don't know.
Is it A' cartoon or is it A'?
Regular pig.
Trey Gerrald (07:30):
Well, I'm gonna go A'
little outside of the box here today.
This
review is for A' Live theatrical production.
Chelsey Donn (07:38):
Of like the three little pigs.
Trey Gerrald (07:40):
What other animals are on A' ship
Chelsey Donn (07:43):
What other animals are fish?
Trey Gerrald (07:47):
'I.
you ever heard of A'?
Really exceedingly large boat thatcarried every animal in existence?
Chelsey Donn (07:56):
Like Noah's Ark.
Trey Gerrald (07:58):
dinging, dinging, ding,
dinging.
Chelsey Donn (08:01):
Oh my god.
That took A' minute.
Trey Gerrald (08:02):
Okay, 'I it.
It seemed more smooth to me.
But you said piggy ship and'I thought there's no way.
There
is no way she did this accidentally.
All right, so today
we are going to you and 'I.
We're gonna break down and review this onedot TripAdvisor review for the site and Sound
theater in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
(08:25):
They also exist in Branson, Missouri, ChelseyBD.
Have you ever heard of Sight and Sound Theater?
Chelsey Donn (08:32):
Sight and sound theater,
and this isn't like for people that have.
Trey Gerrald (08:39):
Hmm,
Chelsey Donn (08:39):
or sound difficulties?
Trey Gerrald (08:43):
no.
So sight and sound theater is.
No Sight and Sound Theater is A' Christian TheaterCompany that produces inspirational musicals with
biblical themes from Moses to Jonah and Noah.
Chelsey Donn (09:04):
Oh, okay.
Now I'm seeing how this all comes together.
Okay.
Trey Gerrald (09:08):
They also made history.
They finally told A' story about A' female fromthe Bible, and it was Queen Esther, which is
A' hearkening back to several episodes back.
But before we get into this review,
Chelsey Donn (09:20):
Yeah.
Trey Gerrald (09:20):
'I want to share this
amazing trailer for the specific
show that this review is addressing.
So this review is under Sight andSound Theater in Pennsylvania,
but it's referencing this productionof this show that is called Noah.
So just for A', little bit of background.
Anyone watching everyone on our Patreon,
(09:41):
'I 'I, think it's just better to watch it up frontand then we'll be objective about the review.
Okay.
Chelsey Donn (09:46):
Okay, fine.
Trey Gerrald (09:47):
Okay, here we go.
We're gonna watch it together.
Piggy ship.
Can you see the screen?
Chelsey Donn (09:53):
Uhhuh.
Trey Gerrald (09:54):
Lemme make it full.
Screen
Chelsey Donn (09:55):
This is, looks like
it's like high production value.
Try.
Trey Gerrald (09:58):
'I mean if there's
anyone in the world that has money,
it's the Jews and the Christians.
Chelsey Donn (10:02):
Wow.
It looks like the, like M G M, like
Trey Gerrald (10:06):
It looks like
the beginning of Disney, right?
Chelsey Donn (10:08):
yeah.
Disney.
Trey Gerrald (10:10):
here we go.
Voiceover (10:13):
Coming to Sight and
Sound Theaters in Branson, Missouri.
The landmark production returns, Noah.
Oh it, it is you, the LordGod, Jehovah has spoken to me.
He said all creation has
Chelsey Donn (10:27):
There's A' Live horse on
Voiceover (10:28):
refuses to turn from his wicked ways.
'I will cover the earth
Chelsey Donn (10:34):
There's Lor rain.
Voiceover (10:35):
A', flood.
Noah, you must build an arc.
Come on board for one of theworld's best known voyages.
You must bring two of every animal, bird, and reptile in this extraordinary Bible story
that's captivated audiences for generations.
(10:58):
Lord, thank you.
'I Couldn't have done any of this without you.
Noah live on stage at Sight andSound Theaters in Branson, Missouri.
Returning March, 2020 for one season
Chelsey Donn (11:09):
Oh my God.
'I can't!.
I'm like shocked at how high theproduction quality of that was.
Like.
That was like even nicer than A'.
Lot of Broadway.
There was A' live horse on stage.
The lighting was like insane.
We had rain at one point.
The voice of God, the costumes looked like insane.
(11:31):
That was like, like 'I would, if 'I didn'tknow that it was, you know, A' Christian
Theater, 'I would be like, oh, 'I wanna be in
A' Show like that, like the production quality.
Trey Gerrald (11:40):
let me just go ahead
since we're in this conversation.
Now, let me, this is the outside of the theater.
This is in
Chelsey Donn (11:45):
Wow.
Holy crap guys.
It is A' beautiful theater space.
'Trey Gerrald: I mean it's ginormous, 'I.
Wonder if we can see the, uh, seeding chart
It's like A' huge.
Like A', huge house.
And in that video at leastit was like A' full house.
Trey Gerrald (12:04):
they are famous
Chelsey Donn (12:04):
Wow.
There's an elephant on stage now.
This is insane.
You guys.
And do they only do Christian thing?
Like will they do like Aladdinor they're only doing Okay.
Bible stories.
Okay.
Trey Gerrald (12:18):
And 'I know of Sight and Sound
Theater because my college 'I went to school
for Dress Up and Make-Believe and we would
audition for summer acting Jobs and Sight and
Sound Theater was one of the companies, and
they were notorious for the very firstquestion they would ask you if they called you
back to audition was, are you A' Christian?
Chelsey Donn (12:38):
Crazy.
And if you said no, if you're like, I'mA' Jew, they're like, all right, next.
Trey Gerrald (12:43):
know.
'cause 'I didn't know Jews in college, but,
Chelsey Donn (12:45):
Okay, fair enough.
'I.
Trey Gerrald (12:47):
and notoriously like when
you are hired by the company, you attend
church with everyone in the company.
You say prayers before all the performances
Chelsey Donn (12:56):
Wow.
So it's A' real.
Trey Gerrald (12:58):
organization.
Yeah.
All right.
So
Chelsey Donn (13:01):
And this is A'.
This is A' one.review.
Trey Gerrald (13:04):
read this one.review.
And this is for Noah.
So here we go.
This is written by Bama, Steve.
Chelsey Donn (13:12):
Bama.
Trey Gerrald (13:13):
They have 82
contributions on TripAdvisor,
and this was written on June 5th, 2010.
So the trailer we just watched was 10 years later.
Chelsey Donn (13:25):
10 years after
Bama wrote this review.
Okay.
Trey Gerrald (13:29):
So here we go.
The subject for Sight andSound Theaters written by Bama.
Steve one review is 'I, so wanted tolike Noah, but it was flat for me.
Chelsey Donn (13:41):
Okay.
Trey Gerrald (13:43):
'I so wanted to like this
show as we walked into the theater.
It was impressive.
Very large stage and stateof the art sound system.
Many of the reviews were great.
at the price of the tickets, 'I wasexpecting something of the quality 'I
could find on Broadway, or at least on the
caliber of an off-Broadway touring company.
(14:11):
'I was disappointed, as said in previous reviews.
The animals were the mostexciting part of the show.
The arc and most of theprops were also impressive.
The obviously fake beards and wigs.
The thatched English style village buildings, parentheses wasn't Noah in the Middle East Three
question marks and the fact that the cast were
all wearing the same kind of keen hiking sandals
that 'I wore to the theater was just funny.
(14:49):
The plot line could havebeen much more interesting.
'I never felt that any of the leadcharacters were well developed.
Or drew the audience into the story.
The acting was pretty bad.
Lots of overacting over emotion, yelling, moaning.
That was never quite believable to me.
(15:12):
The evil rulers acting reminded me of A'Bad Children's Theater with the Evil Laugh.
This is Mellow Drama Theater.
Even though this is sold as A' musical, there is much more talk than singing.
Most of it is quote unquote preachy
Without being really artistic or beautiful, thiswonderful biblical story could have been told
much more artistically and with bitter music.
(15:42):
The songs don't have much of A' medley tothem, and none of the solos were very memorable
or highlight any of the characters' voices.
'I.
My wife didn't care for theextra stuff added to the story.
Da da.
Things that
are,
within the realm of the possible butaren't in the original biblical story,
(16:02):
eg.
The crowds trying to burn down thearc while it is under construction.
My kids didn't like the part of the showwhere Noah's kids had been on the Arc for A'
while and began to quarrel with each other.
Chelsey Donn (16:17):
Oh God.
Trey Gerrald (16:18):
Oh, please stop
arguing, yelling and seeing.
Yelling about having to feed the animals 'I.
Just wanna leave this theaterby now for exclamation marks.
'I just saw the miracle 'I.
Pigeon Forge two weeks before this and foundthe miracles Christian message presented in A'.
(16:41):
Much more artistic, poetic, and beautifulfashion with exceptional acting choreography
and A' first rate musical score.
Noah didn't touch me in the same way and left mefeeling 'I had just paid A' hundred and $50 to see
A' childish amateur show with an expensive set.
(17:05):
In all fairness, there were manyaround me after the show who commented
on how wonderful the show was.
So some of you may like it, but if you are usedto seeing professional plays with deep storylines
and character development, Or musicals and the
great American tradition of singing and dancing.
(17:27):
'I.
Don't think you're gonna like this one,
Chelsey Donn (17:32):
Wow, interesting.
'I feel like 'I went on A'rollercoaster with how 'I felt about
Trey Gerrald (17:38):
right?
'I.
Think 'I.
know exactly where the twist went.
'cause if it occurs to me,
'I.
Chelsey Donn (17:44):
Well, 'I don't know, but 'I
just feel like in the beginning, 'I was
like, okay, check, compliment, sandwich, and
also check agreeing, because if 'I was just
watching the video and just seeing that, as
you guys heard in real time, 'I was super
impressed with everything that 'I was seeing.
So the fact that Bama.
Started there and was like, 'I was superimpressed with everything that 'I was seeing.
(18:07):
Like the sets were great, the whatever, like all,all these elements that when 'I was watching the
trailer, 'I was like, oh my God, this is great.
So 'I was like, okay, bam.
Us off to A'.
Really good start.
'cause they're not A', total curmudgeonthat's just gonna complain about everything.
The switch for me happened, oh,first of all, the moaning, l o l.
(18:28):
But the switch for me happened around justlike, again, maybe this is my bias or my
lack of knowledge in this area, but around
the like Christian talk, 'I just couldn't
tell where Bama was falling on the spectrum.
Like if they were just so religious that any kindof departure from the norm was really throwing
Bama in A' way, that it wouldn't throw everybody.
(18:52):
That was like kind of where'I sort of got off the train.
A' little bit.
What about you?
Trey Gerrald (18:57):
Well, it's an interesting,
that's an interesting point of the review
because if you just were to look up the
Noah story inside of the Holy Bible,
How do you make that A' $150 ticket priceStory 'I mean you probably will have to take
some artistic license to expand the story.
Otherwise
Chelsey Donn (19:17):
And to add drama, to add elements of
Trey Gerrald (19:20):
Right.
And if you're like hiring people to play Noah'schildren, like you want to maybe give them
A' storyline.
Right,
exactly.
'I think for me, 'I was sort of buying, regardlessof how Bama feels about Christian theater,
until they start really pumping up the competitor
Chelsey Donn (19:40):
Oh, well that,
'Trey Gerrald: I.
Mean 'I really sort of thought, oh, didyou write the score for the Miracle over at
1000%.
'I wrote that down.
So that was my second point.
So like first when they were saying just about theacting being bad, 'I was like, 'I kind of can't!
believe that.
Right?
Like especially if they're demographiclike you shared, is so specific.
(20:01):
Like not only you know, are you A' talentedactor, but you also have to be Christian.
You also have to be Christian enoughto wanna be in A' show like this.
'I can see how maybe we're notgetting the highest caliber.
Talent.
So 'I was totally believing them at that point.
Sort of starting to get A' little suss around, okay, are we A' little bit more religious?
Are we A' Little bit more strict aboutthe way we're interpreting the Bible?
(20:24):
But then, yeah, when we got into thatwhole section about the miracle, you
know, and how much better it was and
how much artistic 'I just wrote sus,
Trey Gerrald (20:34):
Yeah.
Chelsey Donn (20:35):
even if Bama is not the artistic
director of that show, they might be involved.
Trey Gerrald (20:41):
Well 'I, that obviously
occurs to me, but if 'I wanna be devil's
advocate here, let's also just consider.
If you are someone who is seeking out Christianbased entertainment storytelling for your
family, 'I would imagine it's A' less deep pond
than if you were looking forlike Marvel entertainment
(21:02):
or like, you know, so it is possible thatyou would've also seen this Christian
entertainment over in Pigeon Forge.
'I mean like, sure.
Chelsey Donn (21:10):
That's totally right.
If you're somebody that's really only, you're gonna be only listening to Christian
Rock, you're going to church every single
week, Christian schools, Christian,
everything, then yes, you probably know
all the Christian plays within the area.
But then also 'I feel like you probably have.
Ties to those places because of thecommunities that you're running into.
(21:35):
So 'I don't know that the twoare mutually exclusive 'I.
Guess that's where I'm like,maybe 'I don't know 'I.
I'm not A' hundred percent saying that theydefinitely know somebody at the other theater.
But 'I think that the passion with which, and the placement where they put like 'I, the
whole thing, just read A' little sauce to me.
But then we did sort of win it back when weended with the bottom bun of the sandwich.
(21:58):
We said some of you might like it, right?
Wasn't my bag.
For some of you.
Maybe the fact there are animals on stage, whatever, like that might be enough for you.
And 'I thought that that was A' Christian,uh, way of wrapping up A' one.review.
Trey Gerrald (22:15):
Well 'I find Bama Steve
to be really per com to be very complex
as A' character on the page because theyspend A' lot of real estate pointing
out that they're very knowledgeable
and English style village architecture
versus Noah being Middle East, Eastern.
Also, they like have A' proficiency and Broadwaymaterial and hilarious l o l that they say 'I.
(22:42):
Off-Broadway touring company.
Like those are like three different things.
An off-Broadway show, A' touringcompany, like an Off-Broadway show is
not necessarily gonna 'I don't know.
And, but 'I thought this would beinteresting for our show because I'm
curious to sort of dissect, are theredifferent expectations for A' Broadway
show versus A' Megaplex Christian
Entertainment musical extravaganza?
(23:06):
Like, are you gonna be criticalthat they're wearing fake beards?
Chelsey Donn (23:10):
'I don't know.
'I do think that they purportthemselves to be at that level.
So yeah.
Then it really.
Does need to be uniform throughout.
You know, why are you gonna have animalson stage and then have shitty beards
that are gonna take me out of it?
'I don't know about the comment of like the townbecause again, 'I think we're dealing with someone
who's like, must be exactly the way it is in
history where the architecture doesn't bother me.
Trey Gerrald (23:38):
Well,
'Chelsey Donn: I don't even
know if the shoes bother
That was my next thing is like
if you're looking for that much accuracy,
then Noah would be Middle Eastern.
They wouldn't be A' white person.
Chelsey Donn (23:48):
Right.
Right.
Trey Gerrald (23:50):
Like if you're that
Chelsey Donn (23:51):
in their Bible, they
probably would, in their Bible,
Trey Gerrald (23:54):
'I mean
Chelsey Donn (23:55):
they'd be like, he's
Middle Eastern, but he's still white.
Trey Gerrald (23:58):
What do you think about the like
children's theater, evil, laugh, melodrama.
'I mean, looking at that set, it looks
like A' melodrama.
To me it is so expansive.
It is so lush.
It's so huge.
Like for the storytelling to be melodrama,'I don't feel like that's incongruent.
Chelsey Donn (24:16):
Yeah, 'I agree.
'I think it's so hard with any of thesereviews to really know, because we've said it
A' million times, theater is so subjective.
So someone could go and see somethingand be like, the acting was terrible.
And then someone else could see itand be like, the acting was great.
And 'I do think that Bama left some room for that.
Like they were like, there were peoplearound us that were like, oh, this is great.
(24:37):
You know, 'I don't know.
Do 'I Trust Bama more than the average?
Joe Donn don't know.
What do you, what do you think aboutthe kids being like, father 'I hated
that the two are fighting on stage.
Why would they display siblingsfighting that's so wrong?
Like 'I know 'I made theBritish, but like, what the hell?
Trey Gerrald (24:58):
Bama, Steve mentions their
wife, my head cocked because 'I 'I don't know.
Maybe I'm just A' gay personthat thinks the world is gay.
And then
when they talk about theirkids 'I think, oh, my 'I mean.
It all just felt like, wait, what?
You need conflict.
Like it's just interesting 'cause Bama,Steve is really nitpicking what is being
presented and 'I think it circles back to
the question here is like they're selling us
this competitor so 'I automatically just 'I.
(25:26):
'I want to just believe that they're saying'I much preferred this other offering,
But something about it like you'recomplaining that they're wearing the
same sort of hiking sandals that you're
currently wearing, sitting and watching.
But Donn don't know.
I'm someone who 'I 'I.
'I don't need to spend A' lot of time here.
But famously 'I did see A' Tony winningperformance in the second row and could not enjoy
it because the actress had on multiple rings on
their fingers that were so inappropriately wrong,
(26:00):
very clear.
It was the actor, not the production.
That 'I missed the entire performance.
So
I'm obviously.
Chelsey Donn (26:08):
on the
Trey Gerrald (26:08):
I'm obviously much more
like Bama Steve than 'I perhaps want
to admit, but 'I
mean 'I, don't
Chelsey Donn (26:13):
Let's break down the value here.
'cause 'I do think that there arepieces of value within this review.
We know that it's A' hundred$50, so that's what I'm gonna
Trey Gerrald (26:23):
And that
people around you enjoyed it.
Chelsey Donn (26:24):
Yeah, it might be not at the caliber
that their promotion, that the grandiose nature
of their theater is making it seem like it is.
'I kind of think that 'I appreciate that.
Warning 'I always like that.
Like 'I always like whenever there's anythingthat is super popular 'I like when people
are like, well maybe it wasn't that good so
that 'I can try and go into it with my own.
(26:51):
Okay.
This objective mind, whatever you wanna call it.
Like this could go either way.
'I am not counting on this being A' Home Run,and I'm not counting on it being A' train wreck.
Trey Gerrald (26:59):
Yeah.
And 'I get that.
It is like A' discerning look, which 'I think is interesting.
And to say that the best quality in the showwas the live animals, 'I mean That's scathing.
Chelsey Donn (27:08):
And 'I do.
Yeah.
Right.
You know, again, we have to considerthe audience of people that are going to
be even visiting this TripAdvisor page.
Maybe there are gonna be other peoplethat are Bama Steves who are gonna
be like, oh, they changed the story.
Oh, they took liberties with the sets.
'I don't want to see that.
(27:29):
'I don't know.
Trey Gerrald (27:30):
Noah was not standing
around singing in real life.
Like none of it's accurate.
It's
Chelsey Donn (27:35):
But it's Right, right.
What do we think about the fact thatwe're calling this A' musical and we're
being told, don't expect too much singing.
Expect A', lot of talking andsome screaming Sing, yelling,
Trey Gerrald (27:46):
Yeah.
'I mean 'I Don't know.
Like what is the actual definition ofA' play with music versus A' musical?
Like do you
have to have A', certain number of songs?
'I don't
know.
Chelsey Donn (27:54):
don't know either.
Interesting, 'I.
Trey Gerrald (27:56):
is like beautiful and perfect.
Chelsey Donn (27:58):
Do we think that Bama
Steve is like A' pastor or something?
At very least
Trey Gerrald (28:04):
we think Bama,
Steve wanted to be A' performer.
Do we think they're A' Musical composer?
'I mean they, they have A'.
Lot
Chelsey Donn (28:09):
'I.
Think Bama.
Steve definitely has maybe somesuppressed artistic dreams.
'I kind of feel like Bama.
Steve and his wife homeschool.
The kids now 'I don't know.
Making A' leap there,
Trey Gerrald (28:22):
'I.
Think that too
on this conversation.
'I, think the truthful, shadycommonality sort of thing.
If 'I am spending A' hundred $50A' ticket, and I'm bringing my
family, A' four, and 'I cansee they have live animals.
This is A' ginormous, 'I
immersive, like over the top
spectacle.
Chelsey Donn (28:39):
experience.
Yeah.
Trey Gerrald (28:40):
Hire people with beards.
'I mean like it is sort of absurd.
Like if the beard work and the wig worktakes you that much out, but they're
actually walking live elephants on thestage, that's A' huge glaring issue like 'I.
Get
the point there.
That's A' mighty price for youto have wigs from amazon.com.
Chelsey Donn (28:59):
Right.
Were we humored at all?
'I mean intentionally.
'I, 'I.
Don't know.
Trey Gerrald (29:04):
'I mean I'm 'I
was entertained enough, but 'I.
'I don't know if it was intentional,
the quarreling,
Chelsey Donn (29:11):
Yeah.
The quarreling between the children on the
Trey Gerrald (29:14):
that's why you made them British.
The word
Chelsey Donn (29:17):
Oh, maybe, yeah.
'I just felt like, yeah, 'I just felt likethere was something so buttoned up about Bama.
Trey Gerrald (29:23):
buttoned up.
But there's also like, I'm notsure about the trustworthiness.
Chelsey Donn (29:26):
Yeah.
'I don't know, right.
'I kind of feel like we're dealing withinan ecosystem where like if you are A'
Bama, you might see yourself in Bama.
And if you're not like us 'I, thinkwe're really questioning A' lot.
Trey Gerrald (29:40):
But 'I also feel like 'I
have experienced BAA's frustrations at
Broadway shows.
Chelsey Donn (29:46):
Sure.
Right.
With the rings.
Trey Gerrald (29:49):
And many other experiences.
It's very hard for me to enjoy live
Chelsey Donn (29:52):
'I get that.
'I get that.
And 'I think that that's, that's wherelike if you're that kind of person again,
you've been warned, which 'I appreciate.
Trey Gerrald (30:02):
And 'I.
Also, before we go into Crowning Bama endswith A' sentence that says, Noah didn't touch
me in the same way as this other offering.
And that left me with A' feeling that 'I hadjust spent A' lot of money on A' childish amateur
show with an expensive set
Chelsey Donn (30:18):
Yeah.
'I.
Get
Trey Gerrald (30:20):
that.
sort of resonates for me.
Let's, let's crown them.
So ChelseyBD.
and 'I each have our own setof zero to five crown cards.
And in an effort to be fair and not influencedby one another's, outrageous, extravagant sets,
we will simultaneously reveal our ratings.
Voiceover (30:36):
Queens are Tabulating
to school.
Chelsey Donn (30:43):
Okay, I'm holding up three crowns.
Trey is holding up four crowns.
'I went with three because 'I justdon't know that this is gonna be.
Everyone's experience.
I'm left not knowing if A' A', A' is A',hundred percent A' reliable narrator, or
if they're just so specific and insular in
their, you know, beliefs and what they think
that A' quote unquote Christian show should
look like, that they're not really A' able.
(31:10):
To look outside of the box of this onetheater space that they really love.
So 'I don't know if it's that or if there'sreally A' larger warning here that merits
this one star one.in this case review.
So that was why 'I went with Three Crowns.
'cause 'I do think there's informationhere, but 'I think it's specific
to A' certain kind of person.
(31:30):
Why four?
Trey Gerrald (31:32):
'I said four because it 'I.
Appreciate Bama.
Steve is able to be discerning about A'very, uh, compassion outwardly, you know, 'I.
Uh, driven community, sort of pick apartthings that even if 'I have A', different
taste level or A', different expectation.
(31:53):
'I, appreciate Bama.
Steve wanted to sort of offer A' little bit of A'warning rather than just being like, it was great.
They looked like they were having fun up there.
Like,
you know, but 'I also wanna say that A', lot ofwhat Bama offers is just innately my expectation.
(32:14):
'I, were gonna go see A' Christian themed musicalby an organization that only tells stories that
encourages their cult, I'm sorry, their system.
So,
Chelsey Donn (32:26):
'I.
Love
Trey Gerrald (32:27):
but yeah, 'I couldn't do Review
Queen because 'I feel like 'I can't tell.
If 'I can totally trust theethics behind leaving the review.
Chelsey Donn (32:38):
Mm-hmm.
Trey Gerrald (32:39):
if 'I were to go and see the show,
'I would consider, oh, like maybe because they
spend so much money, maybe their budget is so
fat in other areas, maybe they skimp another,
Chelsey Donn (32:51):
Right.
Trey Gerrald (32:51):
you know, Donn don't know.
I'm just really perplexed.
I'm really intrigued.
This whole existence of this ecosystem isso convoluted for me that 'I appreciate you
entertaining walking through this with me and,
um, 'I would love to go and see it with you.
Chelsey Donn (33:06):
Oh my God.
'I.
Don't know 'I just never heard ofSight and Sound Theater before, like
maybe in the recesses of my mind.
'I did, but I'm sort of enamored by the factthat you actually auditioned for this company,
Trey Gerrald (33:21):
Well, 'I, you know, when you go to
these colleges, you audition,
Chelsey Donn (33:24):
For everything at once.
Straw hat 'I did.
'I did straw hat.
Trey Gerrald (33:28):
And the N E T C, the
Northeastern Theater
Chelsey Donn (33:31):
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So it was one of those, it was one of thosewhere you're like auditioning for everything
at once, and then you get the callback
list and you're like, you were called
back for blah, blah, blah and blah, blah.
Trey Gerrald (33:40):
There's like 90 companies in in
Chelsey Donn (33:42):
And then you
get called back by like five.
Trey Gerrald (33:45):
That's what 'I did, right?
And sight and Sound was alwaysthere, and they never called me back.
Chelsey Donn (33:49):
Um, those
Trey Gerrald (33:50):
But 'I do know someone who was
hired and did two contracts with Sight and
Sound Theater, and we can get into the stories
Chelsey Donn (33:59):
in the after
Trey Gerrald (33:59):
that was A', homosexual male
that, uh, that actually went and worked there.
And we can talk about that on the after show.
Chelsey Donn (34:05):
oh, 'I would
love to talk about that.
Yeah.
Trey Gerrald (34:07):
Uh, Queen Esther, we have done it.
We have
reached the most regal portion of our show.
ChelseyBD, who are you inducting today for?
Voiceover (34:16):
My Royal line is,
Chelsey Donn (34:18):
So today 'I am
bringing in A' very special inductee.
His name is John Essel.
Is A' magician who performstricks for shelter dogs
Trey Gerrald (34:34):
Oh,
Chelsey Donn (34:34):
so that their
enthusiastic reactions get them adopted.
Isn't that so cool?
So John Cecil normally performs his A-ListMagic show to adoring fans and celebrities.
Cecil routinely performs nowfor shelter dogs at the St.
Hubert's.
(34:54):
Animal welfare center Center in.
New Jersey where their adorablereactions help to get them adopted.
Reactions to magic?
Yeah.
Dogs are smart and making treats and toysdisappear before their eyes evidently
leaves them flabbergasted and determined.
To find out this secret, one of my small little.
(35:17):
Superpowers, John says is 'I can just help dogsshow off in A' way that they couldn't without me.
And typically in the videos, the dogsjust go nuts and they have all these
different cute reactions that people love.
So in addition to the fact that Cecil's,obviously A' Queen, just for even thinking that
they could do this to help dogs get adopted,
they're also severely allergic to dogs.
(35:44):
So, They have to take four to five likeBenadryl throughout the duration of these
shoots just to get it done, but they still show
up even though they get hives half the time.
And most of the dogs from these videos havegone on to find permanent homes and loving
Trey Gerrald (36:02):
Wow.
Chelsey Donn (36:03):
Thank you, John Cecil.
For magically being such A' Queen andhelping these animals find loving homes.
What?
A' mitzvah.
You're such A' mensch, and I'm happyto induct you as our Royal Highness.
Trey Gerrald (36:20):
Oh my gosh.
'I.
Gotta find out what shelter this is.
Chelsey Donn (36:24):
Yeah.
Well now you're gonna adopt.
Adopt another dog.
Trey Gerrald (36:28):
'I can't, but 'I, 'I, 'I.
Don't know if it's John
necessarily, but 'I have seen, like thereare trends on TikTok and Instagram of
Chelsey Donn (36:35):
Dogs reacting.
Trey Gerrald (36:37):
and it is just the best 'cause
they're, they're so uninhibited and so they're
just like the raw reaction of like, what the
Chelsey Donn (36:44):
Exactly.
Like what?
Where'd that go?
Trey Gerrald (36:46):
Oh my God, 'I.
Love that.
All right, well I'm definitely looking up John.
I'm gonna add them on Instagram
'I.
Love that.
Good induction.
Chelsey Donn (36:52):
Thank you.
Thank you.
Trey Gerrald (36:54):
We did A' Queen.
That is another round on the R ruA' R Q wearing A' wig Ferris wheel.
Chelsey Donn (36:59):
