In this episode, Robin Jonas, an integrative wellness coach who empowers people to understand themselves & to listen to their bodies, shares so much wisdom & practical tools & practices we can use in our lives to make small, sustainable 1% shifts that end up carrying us miles. She shares “primary foods” for body, mind, and spirit. Becoming a parent sparked Robin’s wellness and nutrition journey & made her reflect who she was as a person & where she came from. Realizing how she was raised & what she was taught wasn’t what she wanted for her kids, she followed her authentic path to creating a healthier balanced lifestyle for her family & being the best health advocate for herself & her girls.

Take Aways

1.    You have the power to transform anything in your life. All you have to do is decide to do things differently

2.    Being authentic to who you are is when your personal transformation will start to take shape

3.    Be your own self-advocate & listen to your gut feelings, your intuition

4.    There is a gut/brain connection. If you’re feeling it in your gut, your brain is also off, or your brain is off which makes your gut off

5.    1% shifts make ALL THE DIFFERENCE & are easier to make into daily habits & routines. It’s the small daily practices that seem so insignificant that end up carrying you miles

6.    Take a minute to pause when you feel like you’re about to do or say something you won’t feel good about so you are able to come at it with a more authentic lens

7.    The health of your mind depends on all the inputs. The things you see, listen to, the people you surround yourself with, how you speak to yourself, the thoughts you have, all the things you consume affect your state of being.

8.    The health of your body depends on what you put in & on your body, how you move your body, how you treat it, & how things make your body feel. Remember your body is a gift

9.    The health of your spirit depends on what is meaningful for you, like your relationship with God/source/spirit/universe, not feeling alone, what you are pouring into yourself, the practices you nurture, doing things that bring you joy, & feed your heart & soul

10. Prayer vs. meditation. Prayer is asking. Meditation is the practice of listening

11. Give yourself space to get to know yourself, to figure out what you want, what brings you joy, etc

12. If things you choose aren’t soul feeding, they will be soul sucking
