In this episode, Kristina Driscoll, host of the She’s Brave Podcast With Kristina Driscoll, shares how she was at a crossroads in her life after being the caregiver to her husband, who was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s, and young son for 12 years. She shares her authenticity journey and how she started a whole new chapter of her life at age 54. Feeling very unsettled and not knowing what to do, but knowing she had to do something, she saw a podcast course and signed up for it, and now her podcast is in the top 2.5% globally. Kristina shares how getting everything you want out of life isn’t about doing more, but rather about becoming more, and how morning habits are the key. She also reminds us to give ourselves a year for any big change we are going through in our lives. To make mistakes, be messy, and remember regression is progression.

Take Aways:

1.    We can completely change our life at any age! Age doesn’t matter! If you feel unsettled, it’s because you are meant for more. There is a plan for you. You’re not done. Just do something. One connection leads to the next to the next to the next.

2.    You can do brave things a little at a time. You can take one small step at a time. Courage is a muscle.

3.    There’s nothing better than authenticity. When you are living and being authentically you, following your heart, people don’t question you. Honor your self-discovery journey. Do the therapy, do the work. Read self-help books. Find out who you are by asking yourself.

4.    Things are not happening to us, they are happening for us and our own spiritual growth. Follow the breadcrumbs the universe puts in front of you.

5.    When you live in the past, you get depressed, if you live in the future, your anxious. Live in the now.

6.    Our greatest sense of freedom is being authentic to ourselves. If you aren’t living authentically, you are actually doing more damage to yourself and everyone around you. Awareness is the first step.

7.    When you are making a decision, ask yourself, “Why am I making this decision? Is it based on what’s best for me, or is it based on concern about what someone else will think?” Who’s running your life, you or them?

8.    It is not selfish to put yourself first. If you’re not happy, everyone around you is not going to be happy, so put yourself first.

9.    Getting everything you want out of life isn’t about doing more. It’s about becoming more.

10. Don't think fear and uncomfortableness is ever going to go away because it’s not. Learn to work through it, and reach out to your community for help when you need it. We aren’t meant to take this journey alone.

11. The more vulnerable you are with people, the more enriched and meaningful your friendships will be.

12. Give yourself a year for any big change in your life. You are stretching yourself, make mistakes, be messy, remember you are learning something new.
