Lunden Souza (00:00):
Welcome to Self-Love and Sweat the podcast.
The place where you'll getinspired to live your life
unapologetically.
Embrace your perfectimperfections and do what sets
your soul on fire.
I'm your host, London Susa.
Welcome back to the podcast andwelcome back, Veronica Kelly.

(00:27):
This is your third time on thepodcast.
I love having you.

Veronica Kelly (00:30):
I absolutely love talking to you, sister.
I'm just anytime I get to sharespace with you, I'm pleased and
grateful.

Lunden Souza (00:37):
Yeah, same.
Yeah, for those of youlistening, Veronica's been on
the podcast twice.
We're back talking about EFTemotional freedom technique and
how to reduce stress utilizingthis really powerful tool.
I was sharing with Veronicabefore I pressed record.
I was like, I feel like thismorning has been all the things.

(00:58):
And I think those listening cantotally relate.
Like I woke up, I got in mymeditation, my workout, then I
had to go pick up a rental carbecause my car got rear-ended
and it's in the shop.
And yeah, it wasn't my fault.
I wasn't in the car.
Everybody's safe.
It's all good.
And I sometimes think like allthe things, and I'm also London
party of one, and I don't havekids and all the stuff.

(01:21):
So I just know people listeningcan resonate with that where
you just like want to do thethings, you want to do your
meditations, your workouts, youknow, line it up, knock it down.
And I was so grateful when Igot to open up this video screen
and land with you.
And I just was like, oh, thisis what I'm excited about.

(01:41):
So um, yeah, I mean, let's justdive right in.
Let's talk about what EFT is,tapping emotional freedom
technique.
Let's give the 411 for thoselistening on what this is and
how you got into it.

Veronica Kelly (01:56):
Um, so happy that you're okay and that you
weren't in the car and that isthe car.

Lunden Souza (02:01):
So yeah, same.
And the woman, I wasn't in thecar and she left me a note on
the car just saying, you know, she could have hit and run, and
I would probably never noticedbecause it's kind of a small
thing, but it's not a smallthing in reality, right?
Like where she hit me, there'slike behind the scenes damage,
if you will, that I would havenever noticed if I didn't see

(02:21):
her notes.
So I'm grateful I'm safe andI'm grateful for honest people,
that's for sure.

Veronica Kelly (02:25):
Oh, I know that's right, girl.
Well, good.
I'm very happy to hear that.
And again, thanks for havingme.
Hello, listeners.
I am just so thrilled to shareEFT.
It is such a dynamic tool thatquite literally, as I've been a
practitioner for about 12, 13years now, it is so dynamic in

(02:46):
that it can help you to achievejust about anything that you
want.
So I've used EFT and guidedpeople to use EFT to move
through wounds, to heal oldprograms in their mind's eye, to
just apply it when you'rehaving a bad day or you just
feel like crap, or if you havesome shame, or if you made a

(03:08):
mistake or whatnot, it justhelps you to come back to the
loving and accepting yourselfright the way that you are.
But it also helps to createchange in your life.
So if there's a goal that youhave, such as, you know, certain
amount of money or a partner orwhatever that is, EFT gets in,
gets you out of fight or flight, and allows you to choose what

(03:33):
you want to program into yourbody and into your life.
And it does that just with realtime, easy tapping on the
different meridian points of ourbody and loving and accepting
ourselves right where we are.
That is the fundamentals ofjust being with yourself,
whether you're stressed, whetheryou're having a great day or a
bad day or whatever the case maybe, creating just that, hey,

(03:57):
all is well and I got this.
And once we come back to thatspace of all is well and I've
got this, we can make infinitechoices as to what we want to
bring into our space.

Lunden Souza (04:08):
Yeah.
Yeah.
And I think of moments whereI've felt stress because things
are hard or devastating, orthere's been um tragedy or loss
or something, I guess, negative, let's call it.
And then also that I experiencesometimes the stress that comes

(04:30):
along with excitement.
Like I'm just so excited aboutsomething and I'm ready to go.
And I'm like trying to, youknow, think my way into figuring
it out, right?
When we get all up in our headsof like, how am I gonna have
enough time to do this?
And I want to do this, and thissounds good, and let's bring
all this together.
And I go back to the tappingvideos that we've done for the

(04:56):
podcast, that we've done for myInstagram lives.
Instagram lives, yeah.
And I go back and do thosereally often because of, like
you said, no matter what'shappening, it's all good.
We can figure it out, we'llfind a way.
We just have to come back intoour bodies and not be, you know,
so scattered and all over theplace.

(05:17):
And so not only are you myfriend and somebody that I know
in real life and have had theyou know honor and privilege of
being around, but I love thework that you do and I love your
voice when we do the tapping, and I love the way that you um
yeah, channel or call in a lotof what you say and the

(05:37):
affirmations.
And I just kind of get lost init with you, which is so
beautiful.
So thank you, babe.
I get to be your friend, butalso I'm doing things on the
sidelines too, which make me sograteful.
Thank you for that.

Veronica Kelly (05:52):
Yeah, it's so it's really beautiful that, you
know, I'm a self-love andfreedom coach.
That is what I do.
My whole life is dedicated togetting these tools into
people's hands so that we canknow that no matter what we're
faced with, we have tools andresources that we can move
through it.
And oftentimes I find with myclients, whether it's my

(06:14):
teaching when I'm because Iteach EFT twice a week and leave
people in person here inAustin, or whether it's my
clients online, or whether it'sthe recorded videos, I notice
that most people, um part of thereason why they don't lean into
healing something or being withsomething is they're afraid

(06:36):
it's gonna overtake them.
And, you know, pain is real.
And oftentimes, if you don'thave the skills and the tools
and have the confidence to say,I can be with this no matter
what, it's not gonna kill me, Ican move through it.
And just having thatavailability to sit with
whatever it is that you desireto change, that moment of just

(07:01):
like, I can do this, I can bewith this, and it's not gonna
take me over, that right therefrees you up so much time and
stress and worry.
And as you said, like all thethoughts in your head about
making it worst case scenario.
And EFT, when you just sit withit and you just allow yourself
to honor this is hard, but I cando hard things, then just that

(07:26):
right there is the biggestfreedom gift so that when life
throws anything at you, you havethis tool.
And that's one of the reasonswhy I'm so passionate about
getting these tools out topeople, is because it doesn't
even matter what you're upagainst.
EFT will help you, which ispretty good.

Lunden Souza (07:44):
Yeah, or where you are, or well, yeah.
I I've done the Instagram livevideos in my car at home.
You can do them anywhere,anytime.
It's so easily accessible andit's so research-backed, right?
Which I I love.
I think this is such a greattime to be alive because there's

(08:05):
so much, um, for lack of betterwords, where the woo-woo meets
the science, where it's likeactually, this is not just like
some, you know, hippie dippywoo-woo stuff that we're just
pretending works or just sayingthat it works.

Veronica Kelly (08:20):
Like this is something that's has so much
research behind it and is suchan effective technique, like you
said, no matter what, no matterif you're I love that you just
name that because when I firstfound EFT in 2013, you couldn't
even really get certified in it.
It wasn't even an accredited umform of therapy yet.

(08:42):
It was still very woo-woo andit was very suspect.
And I learned throughapprenticing somebody else who
had been a practitioner, but Isaw such massive change, like
massive healing change in just ashort few months of adopting a
daily practice that that's whenI was like, oh my gosh, I need
to keep, I need to keep doingthis and I need to keep getting

(09:04):
these tools.
And then now there's so muchscience.
And like a couple of thingsthat I really appreciate is that
number one, as you say aboutthe the woo-meat science, that's
definitely what EFT is.
Um, but number one, we canthink all day long about how I
want to have this or I want todo this, or I want to change my

(09:24):
opinion about myself and feelworthy.
But as long as we're in ourhead and not in our heart, we're
not gonna see the totaltransformation.
And I love that science iscaught up because our bodies are
electromagnetic fields andscientifically proven, the
electromagnetic energy that'spulsed from your brain and the

(09:45):
one that's pulsed from yourheart is the heart is literally
up to 99 times more strong, theenergy that it's omitting than
the energy that your brain is.
And since we have anelectromagnetic field around us
scientifically proven, that iswhat literally draws people,
places, and things to us is whatwe're how we're vibrating, what

(10:06):
our frequency is, and what is amatch to us.
And so when we get out of ourhead and we get into our hearts,
which is exactly what EFT does, then we actually see the
change.
And I'm so happy that scienceis cut up because I didn't have
words for that before.
But now, because of all theseexperiments and all the
research, I it makes sense andit's provable.

(10:27):
And also, one other thing Iwant to say about the science,
which is crazy cool, is theyactually so when you do EFT and
you're tapping, you break theprotein bond on whatever thought
pattern it is that you want todisrupt.
So whether that's as dramaticas PTSD or whether it's as soft

(10:48):
as shaming yourself.
And I say soft because shamingyourself is still really bad and
traumatic and feels horrible.
But anything across the acrossthe way, if there is a thought
pattern you want to disrupt, when you do EFT, it breaks the
protein bond.
And if you consistently do theEFT, scientifically proven, you
can actually create newneurological pathways.

(11:10):
And it's wild that they nowhave actual experiments where
you can see the brain formingnew neurological pathways
through doing EFT.

Lunden Souza (11:19):
And then it like, then you don't have to think
your way into change.
You can't really think your wayinto change, right?
There's tools like EFT that canactually help you rewire the
way that your brain is wired.
So then you don't end up inthese shame spirals of why can't
I figure it out on my own in mythinking brain?
And I do that too, even thoughI know that.

(11:42):
And I love those moments whenI'm like, wait, hold on,
meditate, do at do EFT.
Like your thinking brain is notgonna solve this right now.
We need to go in and rewirethings at a neurological level.
And I love the first episodethat we did, and I encourage
listeners to go back to thatbecause Veronica shares like a
plethora of her story of neglectand all this stuff that she's

(12:05):
gone through and the way thatEFT has supported that.
So I want you guys to go in andlisten to that because I know
that somebody listening has gonethrough that too and can find
healing and strength throughyour story, Veronica.
And what I want to go throughnext is all the different
meridian points that we do whenwe're tapping.
So as we prepare to do sometapping together today for those

(12:26):
of you listening and watching,um, we're gonna do some tapping
together.
So can you just guide usthrough all the different points
and what um, yeah, what's kindof associated with each of these
points or why we're tappingthose points?

Veronica Kelly (12:40):
Yeah.
So I like to akin it to a map.
And this, the meridian linesare discovered and really um
heralded in traditional Chinesemedicine.
And so the body has tons oflines of energy.
So if you get uh acupunctureand you stick the needles,

(13:00):
they're all over the place,right?
So that map that they use islike a map with every city, with
every road, with every alley,right?
And so with EFT, we're justtapping on the main meridian
lines of energy.
So think of it if it's a map,it's the highways, if you will.
And so there's lots ofdifferent points.
There's it's depending on howmuch time you have and what it

(13:22):
is you're looking to reallyrewire.
But the basic spaces is likeeyes where they meet, nose,
outside heel, at the cheeks, nose between lip, at the chin,
and then just right below thecollarbone, and then you can
take it down to the side of theribs and then back up to the

(13:46):
head.
So that's the most basic, andit's the the core the
traditional emotional freedomtechnique points, but there's so
many other points.
So sometimes I'll do the hands, which we can go on.
This one's really special hereon the bottom of your ring
finger because this goes rightinto your heart center.
So just spending some time onthis space, if you're going

(14:08):
through a heartbreak, or you'rejust like, I want to cry, but I
can't quite figure out where thetears are coming or not coming.
You can really just drop intothis and just like one of my
favorite things to do is justdrop into the ring finger and
just tell myself, I love you, heart.
Your safe heart.
I love you, heart.

(14:29):
And just that right there, ifyou only do this one right here
with that I love you heart, willbring you down into a space of
ah from the the highball stress.
Also, you can get the wrists, there's the karate chop, there's
other spaces as well.
But it just kind of depends onhow much time you have and what
your practitioner is guiding youthrough and what the intention

(14:53):
is.

Lunden Souza (14:54):
Lovely.
Um, but I want to do some EFT.
We're gonna do some EFT guys, but before we get into it, I
want Veronica to tell you aboutan event that's coming up.
It's her finally breaking free, free event.
I'm gonna be speaking on it.
It's amazing.
This will be my third timebeing a part of it.
So before we get just sogrounded in EFT, I want you guys

(15:16):
to hear more about this event.
And I'll be sharing more aboutthis on social media, in the
show notes, all the things.
But before we get into sometapping, um, tell us more.
Hey, really quick, I want tointerrupt the podcast for just a
minute to tell you about one ofmy favorite supplements for
hair, skin, nails, digestive, and gut health.
And that is Snap SupplementsSuper Greens with Collagen.

(15:38):
Now, if you're following me onsocial media, you've probably
seen me post about this a bunchbecause honestly, this product
tastes amazing and it'sjam-packed with nutrients, like
I said, to support healthy hair, skin, and nails.
It helps supportdetoxification, a healthy immune
system, and there's evenprobiotics in there for a
healthy gut.
It's non-GMO, no sugar added,soy-free, grass-fed collagen.

(16:03):
And every scoop is gonna giveyou seven grams of protein.
And this is why I love it,because it's not like a protein
shake.
It's just a scoop of powder.
It tastes amazing.
I put it in water, or if I wantmore hydration, I'll put it in
coconut water and mix it up.
And it's like having a nicerefreshing beverage that's
packed with a bunch of supergreens and protein.
So, what I'm super excitedabout is that for listening to

Veronica Kelly (17:22):
Yeah, thank you.
And thank you for being a partof it.
You have such value that youbring, London.
It's such an honor to co-createwith you.
So thank you for being aspeaker on my event.
Um, so yeah, guys, FinallyBreaking Free is a five-day free
online summit.
And the goal is to get youtapping every single day and

(17:46):
exposed to other amazingpractitioners because, like real
talk, everybody resonates withsomething differently.
There's some stuff that reallyrocks, feels so good to one
person's body that anotherperson doesn't feel good to them
at all.
So I guide you guys throughevery single morning, guided
meditation, a little bit ofwisdom, teachings, and then

(18:07):
we'll do an EFT and have you setyour intention and notice from
EFT and tapping every day forfive days, you will see an
palpable shift in everything.
It's wild.
I have had people come on thatwent on with me into group
coaching that said in just fivedays, they went from being their

(18:29):
biggest enemy.
And then just five days oftapping with me and the other
amazing practitioners' offeringsas well, that they were for the
very first time able to quietthat negative thought in their
head and actually open up tohaving positive self reflections
and starting to reorganizetheir brain to be on their team.

(18:52):
And if anyone that's hadnegative self-talk or has, you
know, you know it's so hard.
Because the most importantwords you're ever going to hear
are the ones that you tellyourself.
So yeah, that's huge.
Finally breaking freeze, fivedays in the morning and in the
evening with lots of fantasticspeakers, totally free.

(19:13):
And it's it's a game changer.
So I highly recommend, and youcan check the replays as well.
It's all it's completely free.
Some people like to purchasethe replays and have them just
in their toolkit for howeverlong they want to have them in
their toolkit, but you can watchit anytime.
I always suggest doing yourbest to be on live because it's

(19:34):
gonna, it's 10 o'clock in themorning, Central Standard until
11:30, October 13th through the17th.
And if you can make it live, Ireally tune into the field of
who is there and make a lot oftailor EFT decisions based on
how best to serve the people whoare registered and who are

(19:54):
there in the moment.
So yeah, it is a it's justmiracles, literal miracles I see
happen, just with five days ofdedicating some time and
prioritizing yourself.
And so I hope that everybodycan pop in.
Finally Breakingfree.com willget you there.
And um, I'm so pleased andexcited to share this.
It's my my greatest honor.

Lunden Souza (20:16):
Yeah, finally breakingfree.com.
You guys are gonna want to gothere immediately and sign up.
It's awesome.
It's so awesome every time Iget to be a part of it.
I've joined in some of theother sessions too, not ones
that I'm uh facilitating orspeaking on, but um, it's just
such great stuff.
Such great stuff.

Veronica Kelly (20:38):
Thanks, honey.
I'm really excited.
It's just mind blowing.
And I'm it's I also I'm sograteful to be able to offer
this for free.
Because when you're aspassionate as I am about these
tools, it's it just makes sensefor everybody to get the
opportunity to try it.
Because just the simple act ofadding in meditation practice,

(20:59):
adding in an EFT practice, thoseare free things that you can
do.
Once you learn how to tap, youcan tap anywhere at any time.
If you're stressed out at aparty, or if somebody said
something that, you know, reallyupset you, but it's not the
place to have the conversation.
You get up, excuse yourself, dosome EFT in the bathroom and
just calm your nervous systemdown so that you are not in the

(21:21):
reaction mode anymore.
And when you come back to theconversation with the person,
you're coming from a place ofbeing grounded.
Or if you feel you're out andyou have social anxiety or
nerves or anything, it is a freetool that I feel every single
person needs to have in theirtoolbox and their kits of how

(21:41):
they take care of themselves.

Lunden Souza (21:43):
Yeah, that's real.
Both of those scenarios thatyou mentioned, I just feel like
people listening are like, ohyeah, somebody said something
that triggers me.
And before I react, I'm gonnado some tapping so then I can
respond.
Or if I'm feeling anxious orjust uncomfortable in a certain
situation, tap and go back andpresent your best self.
So yeah, let's let's do sometapping.

(22:05):
I'll let you guide us throughuh maybe like five-ish minutes
or so of tapping if that's cool.
And for those listening, it'stap time.
We're doing it.

Veronica Kelly (22:15):
So um let's just do a nice little tap for just
bringing safety, loving, andaccepting into our bodies.
I know there's so much stressin the world right now, and
we're going into the holidayswhere it's uh it's a lot.
So let's just take these nextfew rounds and create as much
safety, self-love, andcompassion for ourselves that we

(22:37):
can.
Sound good?
Yes.
Okay, great.
So go ahead, y'all, and startto, if you're available, just
maybe shut down your eyes.
Maybe you might still want tolook at me because I'll be
tapping with you and you can seethe points.
But if it feels okay, start totake some breaths and just allow
yourself to receive themedicine for the next few
minutes.
If you're driving, obviouslydon't close your eyes, but you

(23:01):
can still tap along with uswhile you're driving.
It's a very easy and gentleflow.
So just starting to breathe.
In and out.
We're gonna take some boxbreath together.
So let the air come out.
Through the nose, inhale forfour, three, two, hold it at the

(23:21):
top for four, three, two, exhale, mouth, four, three, two,
one, hold it empty, three, two, one, one more round.
Inhale, nose, three, two, one, hold it at the top, three, two,

(23:43):
one, exhale, mouth, two, one, suspend empty.
Three.
Beautiful.
Go ahead and just let yourbreath come back to a slow
cadence.
And we're gonna start on thekarate chat point.
This kind of gets the theintention set.
So just exactly as it sounds, outside of that hand as you're

(24:07):
breathing, just repeat after me.

Lunden Souza (24:09):
Even though sometimes I can find myself
stressed out, even though Isometimes can find myself
stressed out.
That's okay.
I love and accept myself rightwhere I am.
It's okay.
I love and accept myself rightwhere I am.
Big breath in.

Veronica Kelly (24:30):
Big breath out.
Even though being a human comeswith ups and downs and a lot of
responsibilities, even thoughbeing a human comes with a lot
of ups and downs andresponsibilities.

Lunden Souza (24:46):
I'm sure proud of how far I've come.
I'm sure proud with how farI've come.
Big breath in.
And even though I desire tomake some change, and even
though I desire to make somechange, I totally accept myself

(25:09):
right where I am.
I totally accept myself rightwhere I am.

Veronica Kelly (25:14):
Eyebrow points.
All of these feelings in mybody, all of these feelings in
my body, and I want you guys athome and London as well, just
tune in to a sensation rightnow.
Just whatever presents itself.
Even though I feel this way, even though I feel this way

(25:37):
outside of the eyes, I deeplylove and accept myself.

Lunden Souza (25:42):
I deeply love and accept myself.

Veronica Kelly (25:45):
And if you're at home and that's causing a
trigger, you can add the wordwilling.
I'm willing to love and acceptmyself.
I am willing to love and acceptmyself under the eye.

Lunden Souza (25:56):
And even though I may have some stress inside of
my body, and even though I mayhave some stress inside of my
body, I'm totally safe.
I'm totally safe.
The nose.

Veronica Kelly (26:12):
My body knows exactly what to do to take care
of myself.

Lunden Souza (26:17):
My body knows exactly what to do to take care
