Speaker 1 (00:01):
There's a good chance
that you are more experienced,
more knowledgeable or more of anexpert at something than you're
giving yourself credit for, andI'll use a personal anecdote to
back this one up.
About a year ago a little overa year ago now, at the end of
2023, I noticed that there weremore aspiring coaches following
(00:21):
me than anyone else.
My audience had shifted.
When I first went online in2018, it was all fitness, right.
It was all people looking tolose weight, crossfitters
looking to optimize theirperformance along those lines.
Right, and as it progressed, you know, I was in my gym.
I was the boss of my gym.
I was in charge of making surethat my coaches knew how to
(00:44):
approach their clients, knew howto sell personal training
packages, knew how to enroll newclients for our gym and this is
what I was doing in my gym and,at the same time, I missed
coaching.
So what did I do?
I went online and I startedcoaching fitness online.
Now I'm coaching fitness onlineon one side of the fence and on
(01:05):
the other side, on my side gig,on my or, I'm sorry, I'm
coaching fitness online on oneside of the fence as my side gig
and on the other side of thefence.
I'm showing up at my gym andit's a funny little Freudian
slip there because the gymstarted to become my side gig.
More and more of my energystarted going into coaching
online and that reflected itselfand energetic happenings in my
(01:30):
gym.
That ended with me choosing toseparate myself from that
journey at the end of 2021,along with a realization that
came from my little brotherpassing.
Now, 2022, I go online fulltime and all along the way, you
know, having $17,000 a month,$15,000 a month, having a
(01:52):
successful launch of my programand running a couple of cohorts
before going back to moreone-on-one focused things.
Just something was interestingthere, in the energy of it.
There was something missing andcoaches started coming back to
me in early 2023, guys who hadwent through my program.
They're like hey, man, uh,how'd you build this Like you
(02:15):
ran a gym for you know, eightyears.
You've been an entrepreneur foralmost a decade now.
How'd you do it?
Because after I went throughyour program and I had the
impact of your coaching, Idecided I wanted to give that to
other people.
So I went and I got theenlifted level one, by the way,
highly recommend enlifted as acertification for any coach or
(02:36):
change maker out there.
I went and got the enliftedlevel one.
I went and got this nutritioncertification.
I want to start coaching, but Idon't know where to start.
And at this point I looked atthem and I was like, guys, I'm
not a business coach.
Like I can recommend yousomeone I'll mentor you a little
bit if you want, but I'm I'mnot a business coach.
(02:58):
And one of them said well, you're my favorite coach, I've
worked with and you've been inbusiness.
Could you just like mentor mefor a little bit?
You know, they started seeingresults.
So I went and I looked at myaudience and I said, hey, who's
in here?
Now we're back to what I wastalking about earlier.
I said who's in here, guys?
(03:19):
And I gave choices rightBecause I was still thinking
that I was an online fitnesscoach who had ran a gym.
And I gave choices rightBecause I was still thinking
that I was an online fitnesscoach who had ran a gym.
And I gave choices.
I was like are you here to getin shape?
Are you here for your mindset?
Are you here to learn to loveyourself?
Are you an aspiring coach who'sfollowing along and looking to
me for leadership?
Aspiring coach beat outeverything else and people
(03:43):
looking for fitness.
That was the lowest category.
You see, along the way of mebeing a fitness coach, who an
online coach?
Who had ran a gym, I hadstarted to advertise on accident
, because it's who I become, butI was actually an entrepreneur
who also coached.
And there's, there's thedifference there.
(04:05):
Therein lies the rub, right.
So I noticed there's a lot ofaspiring coaches following me.
So what do I do?
I offer a free workshop.
I say, hey guys, I'm startingto realize that a lot of coaches
go off on their own or theystart online with these coaching
certifications and I've takenthat for granted.
(04:26):
My business acumen.
Who wants to do a free workshop?
We did a free workshop inDecember of 2023, two people
signed up.
Off the backside of that, athird and before the new year
and we were off to the races.
2024 was a wild ride for me.
We we ended the fitnesscoaching period of Chase's life
(04:50):
since 2008.
I've been coaching fitness andthat is coming to a close.
My last personal trainingclient officially ended in
December 2024.
I stopped taking online fitnessclients in quarter one 2024.
We built out a robustcurriculum of content funnels,
(05:12):
dm practices, authentic salespractices, has brand new coaches
signing high ticket clients andhas established coaches hitting
10K months again, finallyfinding their footing as the
market continues to shift.
And just this week, just in thelast 48 hours, I had this
realization.
I was talking to a coach whowent through our coach's
(05:35):
development program at my gym.
I was talking to a coach whowent through our coaches
development program at my gym.
It was a 12 week program, itwas $3,500 and there was no job
placement guaranteed and it wasthe thing that you needed to do
If you were going to have a shotat being employed at art and
fitness.
You know who ran that.
I ran that.
(05:56):
I built that.
I built the curriculum.
You know who ran that?
I ran that.
I built that.
I built the curriculum.
And I realized in the past weekthat I've been doing this
business coaching, this trainingcoaches on how to sell, on how
to show up, on how to ethicallymarket their services for longer
than I thought I have been.
You see, from the minute thefirst coach came in, who had
(06:16):
less experience, who was brandnew, had their CrossFit level
one and nothing else, I've beenteaching and I'm not saying this
in like a braggadocious.
I've been coaching longer thanother business coaches.
I'm using this as a point ofreflection that, through this
whole year, it took me until thelast week of December maybe the
(06:39):
first week of January 2025,even to recognize this in myself
, and I use this point ofreflection to hopefully spur in
you what have you been doing forlonger than you give yourself
credit for?
What have you been doing thatis of value, that has been
creating change that you may ormay not have been getting paid
(07:02):
its value for, but that you havethe experience in that you just
have yet to recognize and giveyourself the credit for, just
like I, up until the last week, had yet to truly recognize and
give myself the credit that Icreated some world-class coaches
.
I helped train and developpeople inside my facility that
(07:25):
went on to own their own gyms, that went on to ascend through
fitness coaching and becomesuccessful chiropractors, people
who came from the medical field, who who were flight for life
nurses, who came in and decidedthey want to go through our
coaches development program andnow have their own brick and
mortar fitness facility.
I trained three coaches whowent on to excel into gym
(07:48):
ownership and a fourth who nowtrains some people out of their
home and I say that more formyself than for anything to help
seal that in that business.
Coaching did not start forChase.
Helping coaches develop theircraft and learn to sell
themselves and sell theirservices and meet their clients
(08:10):
where they are did not start inthe last year.
It started in 2015.
And it's just taken throughthis last year for me to really
fucking recognize and own thatthis is what I've been doing,
that while fitness was my thingin 2008, as soon as I opened my
(08:31):
gym, my lead role became coachdevelopment, became sales
development, became teachingcoaches how to take their skills
, meet their clients where theyare and enroll them into high
dollar personal trainingpackages that help to pay their
bills and provide actual, massive impact to their clients.
That's what I've been doing forgoing on 10 years now.
(08:56):
What have you been doing longerthan you have been allowing
yourself to take credit for?
There's something that you havebeen doing that you've just
been taking for granted becausesince you do it, oh man, I guess
everybody else must be able todo it.
No, fuck that You've put in thereps.
(09:16):
You have actually put in thereps and put in the time to hone
this skill and now.
It's a value, and my questionto you is are you being
compensated?
Are you making a living in avalue equal to what you have put
in to?
(09:36):
This?
Is your craft that you havehoned providing for you and your
family?
If so, fucking awesome.
I guess this pep talk was justextra icing on the cake.
If not, why?
Why?
(09:57):
Fucking awesome.
I guess this pep talk was justextra icing on the cake.
If not, why?
Why?
And what's keeping you fromstepping in and owning the fact
that you are the professional?
