A Still Standing Podcast Interview with guest, Laura F. Brown, Marriage and Family Therapist and Individuals and Couples Psychotherapist, who works in the Philadelphia practice, The Wellness Collective, which prides itself on taking a holistic approach with their clients.

Laura strives to bring an effective blend of experience, expertise, clarity, concern and action to the counseling process in order to provide genuine healing and wholeness to individuals, couples and families, and helps her clients gain insight into how their past experiences and relationships may have caused patterns to develop, which can lead people to become stuck in unhealthy cycles.

At age 33, after years of uncertainty on how to get to where she wanted to be in her career and who she wanted to be, Laura finally took the leap and began training as a therapist. Although "enough was enough" when she made that decision, she still had to work through the negative cycles, self-talk, and the inner critic that stopped her from moving forward with the life she wanted to build for herself. As someone who has struggled with anxiety and others close to her living with mental health conditions, the impact of mental health in people's lives and how it affects relationships is very important to her.  Hear from Laura valuable tools and steps to take on how we can learn to connect and recognize negative patterns so we can begin to see ourselves and our behaviors in a new light.

In this episode, you'll hear from Laura on...

-Quieting Your Inner Critic to Make Change and a Fresh Start

-Relationships and How Negative Interaction Patterns Affect You

-What are Defense Mechanisms and How to Work Past Them in a Healthy Way

-Re-evaluating if Past Coping Mechanisms Still Serve a Purpose Today

-The Positive Impact of Recognizing Your Role in Relationships to Communicate Through Perpetual Conflicts

...and so much more.
