Joanna Armstrong (00:00):
And so you come to work in business with your

(00:04):
insecurities, with your issues, withdifficulties, with attitudes, maybe
have judgments against certain people.
When you have this possibility totake on a project or some business
or even a job, you don't even gofor it because, oh no, they won't.

(00:25):
I'm not there yet.
I don't have the qualificationsthey're looking for.
Oh, we haven't worked withthat big of a business before.
So you might be holding your back.
And there are all kinds ofissues that are sabotaging your
success and your happiness.
Welcome back to another episodeof success in mind today.

(00:47):
I'm joined by Joanna Armstrong, whoteaches how to switch from worry,
frustration, fear, concern, and anger.
To joy and ease in no time.
For the past 15 years, Joanna hasbeen helping countless clients to
free themselves of everything fromstress, worry, insecurities, and
overwhelm, to anxiety, fear, sleepingproblems, and imposter syndrome.

(01:11):
Her clients love her unusually liberatingscience based technique, combining EFT
tapping, EMDR, and positive psychology.
As a companion to her client work,Joanna recently wrote her second book,
The Fastest Way to Stop Stress andWorry, Calm the Mind in 23 Seconds.
Being a much wiser burnout survivor, she now enjoys her family life on

(01:34):
a homestead in the countryside.
This is a fascinating interviewwith so many great takeaways.
I really enjoyed this conversation.
I think you're going to as well.

Teri Holland (01:58):
I want to start with your story.
Can you tell us a bit about yourjourney and how you got into
the business that you're now in?
Sure.
Let's see if I can make it

Joanna Armstrong (02:07):
short.
I was a seeker.
I wasn't sure what I to totell my sons when it comes to
religion and those inner workings.
I was, I grew up in a Catholic environmentand I went to church rather frequently.

(02:29):
I was in the church groupand or the youth group.
Owned connection.
So following that thread, Goingthrough church, I found another church.
I started reading the Bible some more.
But then I started realizing thatI needed to do something more.

(02:50):
I needed to help people.
My, my calling was toactually make a difference.
And so I started shifting things around.
And as soon as I, opened upto allowing this to happen.
Of course, universe provided and all thesetechniques and methods and my journey

(03:12):
began making my own situation better andunderstanding these deeper areas better.
And and then I found sometechniques and methods to help others.
And I've been perfecting this all along.
I've been working with clients for15 years, And I'm still perfecting,
and I'm still tweaking, and I'm stilltrying to find even better ways.

(03:37):
So that's the short of it.

Teri Holland (03:41):
That's great.
So when you say that you you betteredyourself using these tools first,
what was that process like for you?
And how did you first comeacross these techniques?

Joanna Armstrong (03:53):
Well, as I mentioned, I started via the traditional.
church methods, you know believemore and you'll be saved.
And somehow that framework didn't fit.
So as I was taking these steps, I startedmy helping journey as a breath worker.

(04:18):
So, I began having sessionswith clients via Breathwork.
And it's a wonderful process and itdoes go deep, but it takes some time.
And it's a long period for theclient the client has to lay
in a position for a while.

(04:39):
And it's a, it's an elaborate process.
And I'm.
A bit eager.
I have this eager streak.
I want to be efficient.
I want effect.
I want results withouthurrying my clients, of course.
And I do have a slow outerfacade or way of being.

(05:02):
I haven't chosen it.
But on the inside there's thiseagerness going on and I want
effect and I want my client notto have to suffer for very long.
So on that journey and following myown needs and my own personality,
I step by step discoveredbetter and better techniques.

(05:23):
So the breath work, wonderful.
It takes too long for me.
And so as I was discovering or reachingout for something even better, I found
EFT tapping and I mentioned it to myhusband and he said, Oh yeah, I said,
but it's this amazing method and Oh wow.

(05:44):
And all these people are doing itand they're getting great results.
Yeah.
Do you know this method?
And he said, yes, I'm doing it.
I've been doing it for years and it turnsout that my husband was one of the, right?
I was flabbergasted.
We had been married forquite a few years by then.
We had children together and I didn't evenknow he was doing it because he was doing

(06:06):
it in such a way that was very personal.
He didn't do the tapping method full out.
And of course nowadays thereare different versions of.
Tapping.
Right.
So, so it was very interesting, but so,so that's, that was my second method.
And then I have, again, followed my own needs.

(06:31):
and way of being todo an even better job.
So I've been complementing EFTwith more spiritual possibilities.
So as I was evolving, my parents died.
I had some very, well, all throughoutmy I've had very visceral epiphanies

(06:54):
or occurrences and the mostamazing ones were so blissful
that there are no words for it.
I've been able to connect to this source.
And if you're religious, you'll call it God.
If you're not religious, you'll call it something else.
And it's this higher power.

(07:15):
And I got to sense the power.
I got to sense the beautyof this love power.
And it's really powerful.
It's a force.
It's not just, you know, rosy, cute.
cloudy emotions.
I mean, that, that's part of it.
I was shown and I've had this,I can just plug into it now.

(07:41):
It's this amazing state whereeverything is good with the world.
It's bringing down heaven to this earth.
And you can operate from thatplace of feeling, being, attitude.
So it was, Not painful, but it wascertainly a, it's been a journey

(08:06):
of discovery and a journey ofease and possibilities for myself.
So yeah, like most other peoplethat have had a, an amazing
transformation, they often tend to.
Become the passing it forward person.
So you've had this amazingthing happen and you just want

(08:30):
to save the world with it.
So that's very much the situation withme and I just want everyone to feel like
this and not take their difficulties

Teri Holland (08:41):
seriously.
Oh, I like that.
I like that a lot.
You know, I have to laugh when yousaid that your husband had already
been practicing this for quite sometime because I had this experience
with my husband where after leadingan NLP training, I felt like this
pressure right here and I, and itwould happen after every training.

(09:01):
And I told him, I said,Oh, like I always get this.
Pressure, this pain right here whenI'm done a training day and he goes,
Teri, just start tapping on it.
Just start tapping.
And I said what are you talking about?
Because my husband is a policeofficer, very grounded in this world.
Huh, mine

Joanna Armstrong (09:16):
too.
And I said, how do you,

Teri Holland (09:18):
like, what are you talking about?
How do you know about this?
He goes, I don't know.
Sometimes I get that too.
And I just, he's like, I just tapon it and it just moves the energy
around and it makes me feel better.
And it was just instinctivefor him to do it.
Yes.
He hadn't learned abouttapping or anything.
It was just.
Yeah.
And so I'm laughing when I'm hearingabout your husband, because I'm like

Joanna Armstrong (09:38):
These men.
Yeah.
Mine is very grounded as well.
Yes.
He's very down to earth anddoesn't believe in woo too much.
Although when you scrape on thesurface, he's had some experiences
and there is something there.
But I think generally for men, especiallypolice officers, or if you're in
a trade where you're supposed to bea man's man, whatever that is, but.

(10:02):
I'm sure most people canrefer to and conjure up a
picture of what that could be.
These woo things and this etherealand spiritual and deeper the
deeper realms aren't necessarilywhat they're supposed to be doing.
But yes, that's, it'swonderful to hear that.
Yeah.

(10:22):
Yeah.
He found it

Teri Holland (10:24):
naturally.
Yeah.
Exactly.
And I want to go back to what youjust touched on about not taking
our difficulties too seriously.
Can you tell us more about that?
Because I think for a lot of peoplelistening, like when you're in it, it's
so hard to not take that seriouslyand have that be all encompassing.

(10:45):
So how can we not take ourdifficulties so seriously?

Joanna Armstrong (10:51):
Oh, I love that question.
And to be honest, that is the mostdifficult thing for people that they
don't even believe it's possible.
What do you mean?
I have a real serious issue here and it'sreally difficult and it's really painful.
And yes, I understand.
But as one of my colleagues severalyears ago, she expressed it so nicely.

(11:14):
She said, pain.
Is, pain happens, butsuffering, that's on you.
So the pain, you break something, something says something mean you
get hurt, you feel a feeling thatisn't pleasant you get embarrassed,

(11:34):
whatever it is that you find negative.
Yes.
It stings.
Yeah.
But it's temporary.
So just, well, there are more steps tothis, of course, because what you need
to have as part of this way of beingis to understand that these people that
sting you, that offend you, that don'tlisten to you, that do what you want

(11:58):
them to, they have their own issues.
They have their own difficulties, they're going through something
themselves and they don't alwaysdo things to hurt you on purpose or
rather that's actually rare that peopledo things to hurt you on purpose.
So if you can.
If you can step back, take a deepbreath, another colleague of mine

(12:22):
said, smile just as an automatic, and it takes some training but
it's so simple and it's so easy.
You break state, as it's called inpsychology and mental training,
you break state and there aredifferent ways of doing it.
I mean, as an NLP practitioner, you'llknow that, but just smiling, you

(12:44):
Imagining, even, that you take a stepback that you turn away from
this situation and the person, or youactually leave, you say, excuse me, I
really need to take a little break now.
What if you do to break state?
And then you go into this deep.

(13:05):
Heart centered breathing.
You start spreading thesehormones of oxytocin by actively
doing something pleasurable.
So oxytocin will heal youand then you can go back.
You can talk about it.
You can sort things out.
Again the biggest issue is that peopledon't even believe it's possible.

(13:28):
So that's really the first step.
It can be, it is very simple.
If you start allowing yourself theoption of seeing the world yourself, the
people around you in a different light.
As a matter of fact, yesterday Ihad a workshop, and this one woman,

(13:49):
she didn't want to be on screen, shewas hidden, she was all secretive,
she was all in her own way of being.
And that's how we are.
Right.
Until someone helps us out ofthere, or we seek another route,
another way of living our life.
So she was very secretive and I luredher out of her shell and within half

(14:16):
an hour she went from suspicious andnot wanting to talk and not wanting
to come forward and showing herself.
As the wonderful human she is.
So within 30 minutes, her whole attitude, her, the difficulty, her hope came back.
She didn't have hope.
She was desperate.
She hated life.

(14:37):
She and within half an hour, she justshifted out of this and thanked me
profusely And that's the possibility ifyou give yourself a chance to try it out.

Teri Holland (14:51):
Yeah, that's such a great example.
And I love that you were able to do thatfor her in such a short period of time.
That's a powerful transformation.

Joanna Armstrong (15:00):
It is.
What exactly?
But that's the tools.
That's, the tools are very powerful.

Teri Holland (15:05):
Yeah.
And that's, you know, it's perfectthat you say that because I want to
ask you about what exactly is EFT?
So for the audience.
You know, for people who don't know whatthat is or haven't come across it yet
can you just, can you explain a littlebit about it for us and how it works?

Joanna Armstrong (15:22):
Absolutely.
So EFT is Emotional FreedomTechniques in plural because EFT
contains several methods actually.
It contains EMDR, emotional oreye movement desensitization.
It contains visualization.

(15:42):
It contains cellular.
Sensations and transformation,it contains going in and getting
in touch with your inner child.
It goes it's several methods in oneand it's very gentle, it's very loving

(16:04):
and you are guided to go deeper thanyou normally go and go into the body
as opposed to staying in the mind.
And yeah.
Feel the emotions, allow the feelings andyour intuition, allowing your difficulties

(16:28):
to get a voice, to come to the surfaceand express what is really going on here.
Why are you taking this so seriously?
Today I had a client and hewas getting these amazingly Big
expressions and negativity aboutsomething not so big, necessarily.

(16:51):
Not great, but it wasn't as bigand as traumatic and dramatic
as his emotions expressed it.
And that is always a sign thatthere is something deeper going on.
Because normally, you know, if it's not sobig, he knew in his head, he was telling
me that I know it here up in my head,in my thoughts, in my reasoning, but in

(17:17):
my core, in my center, in my heart, inmy super quick explosions of feelings
that this is dangerous, that this issuper lethal even when it really isn't.
It shows and indicates that thereare more layers or something deeper.

(17:38):
This comes from childhood, thiscomes from previous experiences and,
yes it's favorable to take a lookat it with these simple means.
Oh, that's amazing.
So, yeah.
Yes, so you can easily, when youallow yourself to gently take a
look at what's really going on.

(18:00):
Because when you tap oncertain acupuncture points.
When you tap on them, thewhole system calms down.
Originally EFT was based on themeridians and the energy fields and
blockages in the energy fields.
So whether you believe in that or if youjust can see that when you are stressed,

(18:25):
pressured you're in a bad place, yourwhole system, your body, your physicality,
your muscles will freeze, cramp, and so you have a physical blockage.
So, so it's a holistic, it's a full bodyexperience and it's really wonderful.
It's really very efficient andbecause I mean, my, my view is that

(18:50):
because it's a holistic and it takesThe whole body into the process.
That's why you get such wonderful results.
Amazing.

Teri Holland (19:01):
And I know that I know that you also, you work with
business leaders, entrepreneurs.
How do you use these techniques tohelp them in, you know, in areas
of business and achieving success?
Or yeah how do you do that?

Joanna Armstrong (19:18):
Well, as a business owner or leader or CEO, you
have you come to work, you come toyour business with your own issues.
So that's one level.
And everyone can relate to thatpersonal level, but you also come with
certain assumptions about yourself.

(19:41):
I'm this good, I'm so good, I'm maybenot great, I'm maybe not good enough.
Maybe I got this job because I knewthat person and maybe my CV is a joke.
touch.
What's that called?
Spiced up or pimped.
I'm not used to that word.

(20:01):
And you are sitting in this Wonderfulposition, you're in charge of people,
you're helping people you're a leaderand your business might be successful, but
there's something sabotaging your success.
Maybe you are not so comfortablecharging as much as you maybe talking

(20:25):
to that particular client is really notso comfortable because that client is
super successful and you're just thistiny little business in comparison.
And so you come to work in business withyour insecurities, with your issues,
with difficulties, with attitudes, maybehave judgments against certain people.

(20:50):
When you have this possibility totake on a project or some business
or even a job, you don't even gofor it because, oh no, they won't.
I'm not there yet.
I don't have the qualificationsthey're looking for.
Oh, we haven't worked withthat big of a business before.

(21:11):
So you might be holding your back.
And there are all kinds ofissues that are sabotaging your
success and your happiness.
at work because you're bringing youthere and you have certain issues and
thought patterns that are limiting andyou might not think of yourself well

(21:33):
enough or you're afraid of somethingit's a plethora of Amazing little
things that will sabotage your successand your joy and your happiness.
Yeah.
And this can so easily be fixed andswitched out of with, well, EFT, but

(21:54):
now, nowadays I have added love power.
So when you plug in.
Yes.
So when you plug into this state.
of bliss, of joy, of gratitude.
People can relate to that.
When you, so, so for example, this woman yesterday she was

(22:15):
saying, Oh, I don't feel anything.
I don't know.
You know, this, I can't relate to thisblissful, joyful, gratitude feeling.
Cause, cause you use that feeling as fuel.
You use the happiness and love, and the emotions as fuel as a

(22:35):
tool to heal your negativity, your difficulties your issues.
So, so I saw that her catwas walking by the screen.
So I said, Well, how doyou feel about your cat?
Oh, I love my cat.
So she could use that feeling And takethat feeling and embody it, make it grow.

(23:02):
I have this system where you walk thestairs and you increase this feeling.
And she felt it in her body.
She felt it fill her cells.
And there she was, smiling andoptimistic and hopeful and and then

(23:26):
we worked through what practical stepsyou could take to, to actually start
having a shift in reality as well.
So it's not just woo, it'snot just filling yourself with
amazing feelings, but then what?
What do you do with it?
I'll How do you approach your boss?
How do you approach your partnerthat is not pulling his or

(23:50):
her weight or whatever it is?
So you imbue yourself, you fillyourself up, you're, you put yourself
in this amazing state and then youlive your life and then your life
will be completely different of course.
Yeah.

Teri Holland (24:08):
Absolutely.
That sounds fantastic.
That's great.
People work with you.
When they come to you, whatdoes that process look like?

Joanna Armstrong (24:17):
I have a clinic here in Stockholm in the city.
Nice.
And so either they come in or I can workwith people online and the process is
that we will meet, we have a little chat.
I find out what is going on, andthen I take them through this

(24:37):
guided meditation, you could say.
It feels like a meditation tothem, but of course I'm taking
them through all these steps.
I'm asking them to visualize things.
I'm asking them to look forward, backward.
I'm asking them to get in touch withtheir inner child, and I'm asking them
to, When they visualize themselves in thefuture, what does that person feel like?

(25:02):
Sometimes it's they're there andthey're feeling something better.
They're feeling their future self.
But if they don't, then we go backand we look at, well, why not?
Which part of you, which youngerversion of you is protesting?
So we get in touch with that person.
Then, of course, there's the tapping, there's the eye movements, there's the,

(25:27):
well that's the key elements, but thenin the futuristic scenario if they can
see themselves in any sort of positivestate of mind then we grow that.
We visualize, we add, if the person hasa connection to spirit, we include that,

(25:49):
have the spirit come in and the sense of.
Help, if you will, and it's a hugecomplicated process, but the very, very
first beginnings are, that you can learnyourself, are very helpful as well.

(26:09):
And sometimes peopleget very far on their own.
So you can start with the traditional EFT.
You can start with the things that youcan pick up online or there are courses
and I offer courses you can begin there, but if you want to go deeper, foster,

(26:32):
take help from a practitioner, takehelp from someone who is doing this.
And.
And quite honestly, we alldo it somewhat differently.
And of course, as you can hearout loud, there's all kinds of
fabulous things to the process.
But the very, Formalized steps ofEFT, emotional freedom techniques

(26:53):
is amazingly helpful on its own.

Teri Holland (26:58):
Yeah.
Can you tell us a little bitmore about the courses that you

Joanna Armstrong (27:01):
offer?
Sure.
I have a 10 week course that takesyou through this process so you
can learn it and do it on your own.
So it's a we meet online, you get some homework.
I'm rather restrictive withhomework because people have so

(27:21):
much on their plate as it is,but it's pleasurable homework.
So most people don't mind.
And then I have workshopswhere you can come and try the
process out open workshops.
I have a variety of things.
And then I have a book.
I wrote a book where I boiledthe process down into 23 seconds.

(27:49):
Unfortunately, again, most people findit incredulous, but I counted and to be
quite honest, I can do it even faster andanyone who has tried something similar
or has worked on themselves and theywill tell you that, yes, all it takes is

(28:12):
a breath and you can be somewhere else.
And the proof of it is that.
Yes.
I mean, and there's simple proof.
I'll illustrate it with a short, tinylittle example, which is that let's
say you meet someone and they'rereally rude and they're angry and
they're very unfriendly and they'reasking you to help them out and you're

(28:34):
supposed to do business with them.
Or maybe it's someone thatyou're supposed to be working
with in some fashion or privately.
And they're really unpleasant andthey're short and you just sense
that this is going to be horrible.
And then as you talk to them for a fewminutes, it comes up that they admit

(28:56):
to you that, and maybe even in theshort and Yeah, not so pleasant
tone they share with you that, oh,the reason I'm not myself anymore
is because I just went through thisdivorce and she took the house and
the kids and the dog and everything.
All of a sudden, in a splitsecond, you have a completely

(29:21):
different view of this person.
All of a sudden, it took just a breath.
And this person isn't as horribleanymore, I mean, sure, you're thrilled
that they're the way they are, butall of a sudden, it's not as bad.
And that is, that's how it works.

(29:41):
When you can understand somethingabout yourself, when you can open
up on the inside, allow yourselfnot to have to be perfect.
when you can allow yourself somethingelse in a different way than you've
been doing it for years and yearsand you've tried and you worked
on your issue and you worked onyour issue and it's not working.

(30:03):
We'll try adding joy first, adding a sense of inner peace
and harmony and bliss in my case.
To clean your issue up, to give youstrength to clean your issue up,

(30:23):
but it's not even that much work youneed to do because it turns out that
when you allow yourself to be in thisstate, when you prioritize this state,
you go to your issue and you noticethat it's not all there any longer.
Some of it has disappeared.
Some of it, someone cameand helped you with it.

(30:44):
So, universe helps you, when youput yourself in this positive vibe,
if you will, because the, yeah, themagic of metaphysics is part of this,
universe aligns and helps you outand sort things out so you don't have
to do half of the work or even thatmuch, even sometimes it's all gone.

(31:08):
And yeah, it's really amazing.
Sounds amazing.

Teri Holland (31:12):
That's incredible.

Joanna Armstrong (31:13):
But the, yeah the process is just very simple.
But it's just few steps.
And if you do them, learn them23 seconds and yeah, you can be
in another place very quickly.

Teri Holland (31:28):
Amazing.
That's amazing.
And you know, and I.
I just want to also reinforce whatyou said about how it's important to
work with a practitioner too becauseI believe we all have blind spots.
So absolutely needing that otherperson right who can you can see
your client what maybe they'renot acknowledging or aware of yet.

(31:48):
Yeah, so important to do.

(32:32):
I want to shift now into the rapid fire questions that I
have, so if you'll indulge me in this.

Joanna Armstrong (32:38):
This was actually tough for me.
Really?
Yes, because I don't havea one and only favorite.
I am so multifaceted and out there.
So I had to really think aboutthis, but I I thank you for it
because it was kind of interesting.
It was an interesting exercise for me.
To see, get in touch with maybeacknowledging some favorite ish options.

(33:06):
Perfect.
Oh, I love hearing that.
Thank you.
So, fire away.
Yeah.
Yes.
So, let's start with your favorite book.
Yes.
So Man's Search for Meaning.
By Viktor Frankl.
And I quote that and that's veryfoundational in my work because Viktor

(33:27):
Frankl was in a concentration campand in spite of all the horrors, and I
mean, we're really talking horrors, hefound that place that I'm advocating.
So he's in what I do and how I'vedeveloped my work and attitude
and I understood his principle.

(33:49):
No matter what, no matter how bad it is,you can go into that spot, that place
on the inside and be safe and feel good.
So yes.
Yeah.
That's a great book.
Favorite food.
Yes.
So here in Sweden, Idon't know if you have it.
I don't think they're international yet,but we have something called Holy Greens.

(34:12):
It's a restaurant and theyserve only salad, just salads.
It's a salad bar.
And, but the salads areso fresh and delicious.
So my favorite one is the salmon one.
It's it's cooked salmon on a bedof black rice with deep greens.

(34:33):
So your kales and your broccolis andand soy beans, the dummy beans, and
it's dressed with a creamy vinaigrette.
It's so amazing and so thankyou for having me remember that
I have to go back there soon.

Teri Holland (34:53):
Yeah.
Sounds like it.
That sounds amazing.
Biggest pet peeve.

Joanna Armstrong (34:59):
Oh, that would have to be bullies.
I had to search for that because I,

Teri Holland (35:03):
I, yeah,

Joanna Armstrong (35:04):
lately or over the years I've become so bullied.
It's a really blooming positive thatI find I don't let people get to me,
you know, it's, they're having an issue.
They're having difficulties.
But bullies are still on my list.
Yes.
Unfortunately.
Fair enough.
Oh, I just want to add thebullies, they have huge issues.

(35:26):
I mean the worst of a person youare in, in, you know, that state
of grading a person the worseyou are, the more issues you have.
So even they, you know,my heart goes out to them,

Teri Holland (35:41):
but yeah, they are a bit.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Fair

Joanna Armstrong (35:45):
enough.
Yeah.
Who inspires you?
Well, lately, I've been intouch with Sir Richard Branson.
I've joined LinkedIn.
I used to hang on Facebook, but someonerecommended LinkedIn and it's very
interesting because it is a more grownup, I hope people don't take offense,

(36:08):
but it is more of a business place.
And of course I love.
I love.
Everything business.
I love running business.
I love being inspired by business.
I love the different business waysand I just love the part of yeah.
And so LinkedIn, I've been Not chatting, because I don't even know if it's him,

(36:33):
but yes, I've been in touch with himand I love what he stands for and his
charity work and he's got that bigheart and he does heart centered work.
So he's definitely.
My, my latest favorite.
Yeah.

Teri Holland (36:49):
Incredible.
Three things you would takewith you to a deserted island.
Well

Joanna Armstrong (36:54):
A survival kit.
I'm very practical, so Iwould need some sort of gear a
solar powered satellite phone.
to call for help or maybe evenentertainment or some sort of human
contact or other worldly or not,no contact with the world at large.

(37:16):
And then my hubby, because myhusband is so handy and so clever.
And he, you know, he would figureout how to use the survival kit that
I might not even know how to use.
So he's very inventive.
So he would have to come along as well.
And for company and love,of course, but yeah, of

Teri Holland (37:37):
course.
That's excellent.
Who's a celebrity that you would liketo have dinner with dead or alive?

Joanna Armstrong (37:43):
Well, Simon Sinek, I don't even know how to say his name.
And he also has that heart centered wayof running businesses and he wants
to help the leaders and I just find himvery Inspirational, and I support what

(38:07):
he does because that's where I'm at, soI'd love to, to have dinner and talk shop

Teri Holland (38:12):
with him.
Amazing.
And finally, your go to karaoke song.
Oh,

Joanna Armstrong (38:17):
it's all the same theme, isn't it?
But, Happy, by Pharrell Williams.
His.
So I just listened to it now asI was preparing for your
meeting or this chat today.
And it's, you just have to hear thefirst few tones and the rhythm and

(38:39):
yes, let's get happy and let all ourworries just disappear, melt away and
celebrate life and what we have.
We might not have what anyoneelse has or we don't have.
Those amazing things that you're supposedto have, but it turns out that maybe some
of these amazing things aren't so amazing.
So don't ask for too muchbecause it might be more of a

(39:01):
burden than you ever imagined.
So don't wish for too much.
Make it simple.
Make life simple and happyand believe in yourself.

Teri Holland (39:10):
That's great advice.
And before we finish up, do you have anyfinal thoughts that you'd like to share?

Joanna Armstrong (39:16):
Well, it would have to be that I wish that everyone will
take their inner work more seriously, that happiness is serious business,
in the sense that if you Don't.
If you stay in that not so great place,if you let yourself be there and, oh,

(39:39):
it's only this, and oh, I can managehaving it this bad, it might get worse,
because that spiral tends to get worseif you don't do something actively to
get yourself out of there and turn itand have it go in a positive direction.
So, so take help.

(40:00):
There's all kinds of help out there.
You help people just reachout, and it doesn't have to be
so complicated or difficult.
So, so just take that firststep to to make life.
Truly happy, the way you need it tobe the happy that you're looking for.

Teri Holland (40:22):
