Faith, Family, Giving Back - is part of the recipe of keeping a leveled head in life according to Williams. But to keep your core tight - you need accountability with good friends who will keep you grounded in reality.
Former NFL player Calvin John Williams and his wife Charese are native Baltimoreans. At the end of his college years at Purdue, Williams was drafted in the 5th round by the Philadelphia Eagles. Then, Williams played for the Baltimore Ravens, where he retired from football.
After his playing days in the NFL, Williams accepted a teaching position at Lake Clifton –Eastern High School. But when asked to join Stan Mitchell’s staff at Morgan State University as an assistant football coach, he was compelled to join the MSU administration.
Calvin always believed that continuing to work in and around Baltimore City allowed him the opportunity to give back to the community that nurtured him. And with Baltimore at heart, he and his wife started to refocus on the company they began during his playing days, Calese Inc. Now, in its 27th year, Calese Inc. continues to fulfill its vision and purpose of purchasing, revitalizing, and stabilizing communities.
Williams is currently at his alma mater, Purdue University, as Associate Athletic Director. He also serves as sport supervisor for several intercollegiate teams and as Sport Management Council (SMC) representative to the Big Ten for Purdue; Calvin sits on Purdue’s Athletic Affairs Committee, a group that reports directly to the President’s office.
