Today’s talk was part of WIBS 22 and is title Beer: A Story About Power featuring Tinu Diver (river) a film maker living in North Carolina. She opens this talk with the Obama beer summit and quickly get to know this talented and impassioned film maker.
As she reveals her journey to beer and the genesis of her documentary project, This Belongs To Us, we hear how important it was for her to find black beer culture and what a revelation that was for her.
She shares her belief that beer needs new stories, fuller, truer and more nuanced and expansive and in the end who is telling the story matters most of all.
She closes with a plea for craft brewers the world over to step back for just a second from the hectic day to day operation of your small business and self reflect and think about what your beer’s story is.
