Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hi dogs, welcome to the Entremd podcast, where it's
all about helping amazingphysicians just like you embrace
entrepreneurship so you canhave the freedom to live life
and practice medicine on yourterms.
I'm your host, dr Ibnah.
Well, hello, my friend.
Welcome back to another episodeof the Entremd podcast.

(00:26):
As always, I am super pumpedthat we get to talk today and we
are going to be talking aboutone of the most powerful
concepts that I think I've comeacross, and really we're going
to talk about how to generatemulti-million dollar ideas.
But the process of doing it issomething that I have used over

(00:47):
and over again and I anticipateI'm going to use over and over
again.
It is almost magical, and sothe first time I stumbled across
this concept I'm about to talkto you about was when I decided
that I was going to do my firstmillion dollar year in Entremd.
So at this time, the EntremdBusiness School had been around

(01:11):
for about six months and Idecided for that year so this
was 2021, that in 2021, we weregoing to cross the million
dollar mark.
I decided it was going to crossthat without doing ads, and
that's a topic for a completelydifferent podcast episode, but I
made that decision and I couldnot work out the math.

(01:33):
I was like there is no way, with what I have, I can create
that.
So it was something that lookedlike a quote unquote impossible
goal.
The year before that we haddone about 260,000, and so that
was quite a bit of a jump almostfive times and I was like I
don't know how I'm going to dothat.
And so I remember going toMiami.

(01:57):
I went for a meeting and whileI was at the meeting I thought
because this was March of 2021,the year that I had decided that
we were going to do a millionin revenue, and in March this is
the end of March we had hit$120,000 in revenue and I can do
math.
So math is my thing and I'mlike $120,000 per quarter is

(02:22):
going to give you $480,000.
This is not adding up to amillion, not even close.
Now, at that point I hadoptions.
I could have said well, I meanlike, if we get to 480,000, I
mean, that's almost half amillion we can just shoot for a
million the next year.
But the thing you'll find outabout entrepreneurship when

(02:43):
you've been in it long enough isone of the most rewarding
things you can do is embracesomething that seems impossible,
because for me, one is that Iconsider my businesses as labs.
I consider them to be labswhere I experiment with things
and then I can come back and Ican tell you hey, this is what I

(03:03):
did, this is what works.
I'll do it because I feel likeit's my responsibility to be an
example for the physiciancommunity of what is possible.
Like you get to choose, but ifyou want to do this, it's
actually available and this ishow I did it.
And so a lot of times I wouldchase those kind of targets
because of that, because I wantto be an example.
The other thing is I love who Ibecome as I chase impossible

(03:28):
things.
Like I always, like I neverthought of myself as somebody
who was a world changer, whocould disrupt an industry or who
could be an example of what waspossible.
Like those are not things Ithought about, my thought of
myself when I was growing up,and when I look at the person
I've become, I'm fascinated andI'm always like, wow, what else

(03:50):
is in there?
And so I love who I become as Ichase impossible things.
I say all of that to say whenthings seem impossible, I'm like
huh, like, let's do that, let'ssee how that plays out.
Right, and to be clear, yes,we're talking about revenue, but
that's not without the impact.
Right, like at this point, ontrimd, the OnTrimD business

(04:11):
school was creating humongouswins, with the people who were
in the school launchingbusinesses crossing the
six-figure mark, crossing theseven-figure mark.
It was wild.
It was wild what was happening, right?
So your revenue, your results, you kind of want them to go
together.
And so this is March, end ofMarch.
I'm like, okay, we're not ontrack for a million, but we are

(04:35):
going to do a million, and sowhat needs to happen?
And so I decided that I wasgoing to go, I was going to go
to the beach.
The resort I was was like a60-second walk from the beach.
So I was going to go to thebeach, I was going to take a
walk and I'm going to work thisprocess, and I wasn't going to
go back to my hotel room until Ihad figured this out, okay.

(04:58):
So this was a decision I made.
There was no time, there was noend time.
I was just like I have enoughsun, sunscreen, I got water, I
got comfortable shoes, we'regoing walking, and the beach is
a place where everybody has toknow themselves.
For me, it is this place whereI can really relax.
I can be around people, but notsee them and not hear them.
So even if there are peoplethere, I'm alone you know what I

(05:21):
mean Like I can practicesolitude there.
The waves just do something tome, like it's a beautiful
thinking place.
Walking also does that for me,like walking in nature, even if
it's not the ocean.
So I just knew like where itwould be easier for me to think,
and mine storm and all of that.
So I got to the beach and I hadchoices.

(05:43):
I could have complained aboutit, whined about it, fussed
about it, looked at howimpossible it was, but that day
I chose to go with one questionhow do I generate a million
dollars this year in alltraining?
Okay?
And I started thinking about it, I started brooding over it and

(06:03):
it came to one conclusion Likethe first thing you're going to
do is come to terms withsomething that you've been
running away from and that wasmy pricing right, because at
that time, while there's theEntremde's business school was,
our tuition was like $597 amonth and 6,500 for the year or

(06:27):
something like that, and it'slike you're going to have to
change that.
That is not a reflection of thework that's being done.
That's not a reflection of thetransformation.
The reason why is that price?
Is because you're scared.
Like you're scared to chargeanymore, like you have some
internal stuff that you haven'tdealt with yet.
And so the question went fromhow do I?

(06:50):
And the truth of the matter is,when I was building the school,
I was always building a $25,000school, like always, always, I
was like this is what I'mbuilding.
I didn't have the guts tocharge that at that time, but I
was doing the work in that way,I was showing up in that way, I
was delivering in that way, right, but I didn't have the

(07:11):
guts to do it.
And so I was not like.
I was like, okay, and I justhad this thought like well,
maybe you can't do 25, but youcan do 10.
Like you can do 10, but whatyou're doing is ridiculous, okay
.
And so the question went fromhow do I generate a million to
how do I change my prices to$10,000 and do it in a way where

(07:36):
I am sold on it.
I am sold on the fact that thisis a steal, because it was
because once I could get thatand it could show up
authentically.
That way then I could cross mygoal right.
And so I was on that beach andI would think about it and I
would visualize it and I wouldlook at the results that people

(07:58):
were already getting and on allof these things.
And I did this for three hours.
Three hours.
I'll never forget that thing.
Three hours.
Well, let me tell you what thefirst hours it's like.
Okay, my thoughts are roamingeverywhere.
I'm visualizing, I'm doing allthe things that I'm thinking.
I'm imagining launches whereI'm telling people this is how

(08:20):
much it is, and people gettingresults and all these kinds of
things.
First hour went by, nothing.
Second hour went by.
I was still like, yeah, I can'tdo that.
Third hour went by.
At the end of the third hour, boom, it took for one of a
better way to describe it Iliterally left the beach, went

(08:41):
back to my hotel room, went tomy website, changed it to 10,000
a year or 997 a month, andcalled my team, told them this
is what we're doing.
The changes have already beenmade on the website.
It was amazing.
I was terrified that peoplewouldn't see the value before I
did this.
After I did this, it ended upbeing the largest launch.

(09:05):
My next launch at that pricewas the largest launch
numerically.
The number of people who signedup it was the largest ever,
ever.
I'll tell you what I think.
I think a lot of people in mymarket were like, you're not
serious, what kind of businessschool is 497 a month?
When I got to 10, it was like, okay, she actually means

(09:30):
business.
That's my speculation, but thebottom line is we did that.
That year.
Somewhere in November, wecrossed the million dollar mark.
I'm going to be unpacking a lotabout that journey and
subsequent podcast episodesbecause there's so many sides to

(09:50):
it.
The starting point is this howdo I generate multi-million
dollar ideas?
How do I do that?
That's how we did it, but thisis the steps.
I want to give you the steps.
The first thing is to askbetter questions Sitting in.

(10:11):
I can't do that.
I can't make a million.
People like me don't make amillion.
People tell me all the timewell, coaches don't make a
million, or speakers don't makea million, or people in my
specialty don't make a million,or DPC don't make a million.
The truth of the matter isthose statements are never going
to get you to the million.
There are speakers who makemultiple millions every year.

(10:36):
There are DPC docs who crossthe seven figure mark every year
.
There are private practicepeople who cross the seven
figure mark, or add and this isthe same, if you want to add
seven figures the same concept.
There are coaches who cross themillion dollar mark.
I'm talking about people whoyou may be saying, oh well,
they're not doing it right, theyhave bad practice.

(10:57):
These are people who areethical entrepreneurs.
We're going to walk away fromthose kind of statements because
those statements stop you, theydon't help you, they don't
create answers, because they'renot questions.
Why is nothing working?
That question is never, evergoing to produce a multi-million

(11:17):
dollar idea.
We want to ask better questions.
You'll notice, my firstquestion was how do I make a
million this year?
It doesn't matter if you don'tknow the answer.
That's why you're asking thequestion how can I make a
million a year?
You can play with it, you canplay with the idea, you can play
with the numbers.
You can do all of these things.

(11:38):
Starting from asking questionsfrom the standpoint of
possibility is where this wholeconcept starts from.
The first question is how can Imake a million?
The second question is how canI confidently charge $10,000?
.
You want to start asking thoseempowering.
How can I do these questions, even if those things seem

(12:02):
impossible.
How can I do that?
You might say.
Well, my business is not whereI can think about that at all.
I started thinking aboutcracking a million the day I
started my private practice.
I could not imagine how thatcould possibly happen, but I
started asking the question.
I started listening tomaterials about it, I started
imagining it.
It was so far out of mythinking but I was willing to go

(12:24):
there.
Now, it was years before Icrossed that for me because I
didn't have the entrainment ofbusiness school, right?
Like there are many people inprivate practice who are
crossing it so much earlier.
I tell them I took one for theteam.
Okay, you don't have to do that, this is what you do, but I was
willing to go there.
That's the point.
So, even if you're like I don'thave the answer, ask the

(12:44):
question.
Okay, so I asked how can I makea million?
And then it's like well, youknow, what you've been running
away from is your prices.
You know that.
Okay, fine, how can I charge$10,000 and charge it
confidently and charge itauthentically, meaning I believe
in what I'm doing, right, okay.
So that's the first thing.
The second thing is to think, visualize, mindstorm.

(13:07):
So mindstorming means likebrainstorming, but you're doing
it with yourself.
So think, visualize, mindstorm.
Until you unlock the answer,right.
So for the first question, Iasked how do I hit a million?
The answer was you have toraise your prices, right.
So I sat, I was walking thebeach, I was thinking about it,
I was visualizing, I let my mindjust go all the places with

(13:31):
that, right.
Until I locked okay, you haveto raise your prices, okay,
great.
But I know, yeah, right, like Ican't do that.
Then I had to ask the secondquestion how do I do that?
So think, think, give yourselfspace to think.
For you, that may be.

(13:52):
You take a walk, for somepeople, you take a long shower,
a long bath, for some otherpeople, you just put your noise
cancellation headphones in andjust travel, like whatever that
thing is for you.
Set yourself up that way andthink.
Don't be tied to oh, when willI have the answer?
Just sit, sit, you have thecapacity to generate ideas that

(14:16):
will turn your business around.
Just sit, think, visualize, imagine it, all of those kind of
things.
Sit with it If there's someresources on it, like a resource
like this, you could belistening to this, you can
listen.
Then you pause it, then youthink about it, then you apply
it to you, then you ask thequestion Like you just allow
your mind to go there.
So that's number two.
Number three is think, visualize, mindstorm until you

(14:39):
unlock the identity you need toexecute.
Okay.
So for me, the first questionwas how do I make a million?
I raise my prices.
The second thing was a littlebit more of an identity thing.
Like I'm not the kind of personwho can charge $10,000.
Like, I'm just not that person.
I can't see how I can do thatauthentically.
I can't see how I can do thatwithout feeling like a fraud.

(15:01):
And so I had to think so that'swhen I went to okay, what kind
of results are we getting forpeople, right?
What kind of transformationsare they having in their lives?
What is that return oninvestment?
Already, okay, if you did thatand you're charging $10,000 for
that, like, is that not ethical, right?

(15:22):
Okay, what else could you dofor them?
Not necessarily the features,but benefits.
How else can you hold them to ahigher standard?
I help them get even biggerresults, like even a more
ridiculous ROI right and all ofthat.
And so I started working onwhat was already happening, that
I am kind of I'm already thatperson and I can up level it

(15:43):
even more because there are morejumps to be had and all of
these things.
And I was sitting until I couldembody that identity of the
kind of person who charges$10,000, the kind of person
people want to pay $10,000, andall of those kind of things.
And I sat on that until I waslike, yep, I sure am, I sure am

(16:03):
and this is not my story, is nota formula meaning if I sit at
the beach for three hours, thisis what will happen.
But if you do the work becausewhat I decided was I was going
to do the work until right Likethat's the decision, and for you
it may be it may be an hour, for you it may be three hours,

(16:24):
for somebody else it might bethree months, it doesn't matter,
it really doesn't matter theattitude is we're going to shift
this, we're going to unlockthis, we're going to figure this
out right, and then the fourththing is to execute.
So you'll notice, I said thesecond, I was done, I went back
to my hotel room, I went to thewebsite.
I changed everything.
I called the team.
I said, boom, we're done.
This is where we are now.

(16:44):
And I took that boldness withme and scheduled my next launch
and did it.
And I mean, and then that wassuper wild and we hit the
million dollar mark.
And it's so funny, I didn'teven know about the Inc
regionals.
For instance, when they look atI'm in the Southeast, I'm in
Georgia, and they look at thefastest growing companies in the

(17:06):
Southeast, I didn't know thatexisted.
So later on I found out aboutit and found out that the
threshold so not the Inc 5000,but the Inc regionals the
threshold was a million dollars.
I was like, wow, we can applyfor that.
That's crazy.
And then I think we ranked, wequalified, we made the list, we
made the list, which is soexciting.
And then we ranked we're atnumber 29,.

(17:26):
Like so crazy in Georgia, rightIn the Southeast.
And so that's how you do that.
And so I think what I wanteverybody to walk away with is
this thing of you're more likePlay-Doh than you are like a
rock.
You're more like Play-Doh thanyou are like a rock, and so
you're not static, you're notunchangeable.

(17:49):
You're like Play-Doh you candecide.
I want to be different, I wantto accomplish different things.
I want to have a bigger impacton the world.
I want to help my clients getbigger results.
This is the same process.
If you're like how do Iup-level the results my clients
are getting?
It's the same thing.
You ask better questions, youthink visualize Mindstorm so you

(18:10):
can unlock the answer.
You think visualize Mindstormuntil you unlock the identity.
Then you go execute.
This is what we did.
When I noticed a lot of people.
They didn't really identify asentrepreneurs.
This is the very early stagesof the entrepreneur business
school and they did not identifyin all these things.
I was like what do I do?
I did the same exact processand came up with the Ultra MD

(18:31):
Business School Expo.
I hosted an event.
I made them the speakers and soI would come and I'm promoting
them and they're like mygoodness, she's using her
platform to promote us.
I trained them on how to do thetalk, how to nail the talk, how
to show up and dominate onstage, and then they went there
and they did it.
They were so blown away bythemselves and by their

(18:51):
classmates by the time we weredone with that.
We had a different set ofstudents.
When I say different set, Imean they had up level, they had
upgraded.
It's the same process.
It's the same process.
So, if you want to be thisperson who is full on play-doh,
every 90 days, you're evolving,you're becoming a higher,
different, better version ofyourself.
This is how you do that.

(19:13):
So I want you to schedule atime, I want you to go practice
this and I want you tounderstand that, every time you
want, you can create a quantumleap for yourself, in your
business or really any aspect ofyour life, using this process.
So go do it.
Share this episode with anotherdoctor, because we are so
convinced we're like rocks eventhough we're play-doh, and I'll
see you on the next episode ofthe Entremd podcast.
