Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hi dogs, welcome to the Entree MD podcast, where
it's all about helping amazingphysicians just like you embrace
entrepreneurship so you canhave the freedom to live life
and practice medicine on yourterms.
I'm your host, dr Ibnah.
Well, hello.
Hello, my friend.

(00:23):
Welcome back to another episodeof the Entree MD podcast.
Today I'm going to be droppinga lot of secrets of things that
I do, but really it's thingsthat I do for big business
growth.
We have had a lot of quantumleaps, if you will, in our
business periodically, and Ihave a number of different
things that I do to trigger that, and I wanted to share some of

(00:46):
those things on there.
It's top of mind for me becauseit is at the time of this
recording.
We are a few months away fromthe Entree MD Business School
Vision Retreat.
We have the Vision Retreat oncea year in October, and it is in
October because I start my newyear in October.
I'm not a January person, I'man October person, and I do that

(01:09):
because if I don't want to showup in the year and then plan
the year right, that doesn'tmake any sense.
To show up in January and thenstart planning by then it's too
late, the game has alreadystarted, and so I like to treat
my Q4 like my Q1.
So I get what the goal for theyear is going to be, the plans
to accomplish the goal, and Istart executing on them in

(01:30):
October.
So it puts me in a positionwhere I celebrate the holidays.
I enjoy Thanksgiving, christmas, all of those things, but I'm
not.
I celebrate the holiday, right, not the holly months, right.
That's what doing this inOctober gives me the benefit of
I still stay focused.
I have a lot of fun, but Istill stay focused, I still move

(01:51):
my life forward and all ofthose kind of things.
And so by the time we get toJanuary, I'm like full speed
ahead, because I have a quarterunder my belt, if you will.
So that's a little thing I usedto trick my mind.
So, because of that, we havethe Vision Retreat in October,
because I help my clients do thesame exact thing so that they
can finish the year strong andthen they can start the

(02:12):
following year with a bank.
Okay, so, as I'm curating theexperience and working through
the sessions and all of thosekind of things, I figured I
would come on here and sharesome of the things that I do,
because for me when they comefor the retreat.
My goal is retreat to retreat.

(02:32):
So October to October, theyshould feel like they're walking
vision boards, like how did Ibecome this person?
How did I become this person?
What is going on?
And that's what's beenhappening and it's just such a
joy to watch, right, because ashumans, I mean we just explore
our potential to relieve.

(02:53):
There's no cap, there's nolimit, and I mean when you bump
into versions of yourself thatyou didn't even know were there,
I mean that's the life, butanyway.
So I said, hey, let's come lookat a few things here.
Okay, so three things, numberone.
Number one is I step away fromthe familiar.

(03:14):
Okay, I step away from thefamiliar.
And the reason why I do that isbecause when you're in your
same environment, if you are abrick and mortar like, you run a
private practice, the samepractice.
You're right there with thesame people.
You have the same routine, likeI go get coffee, then I go to
work, and then I go to lunch andI go back to work, then I come

(03:35):
home and you get into.
I don't want to call it a rut,but it's a routine, and like big
dreams and big visions andstuff like this don't come out
from routines, you know what Imean.
Like that's just not the way itworks.
And so, for me personally, oneof my all time favorites is to
just be in nature Usuallybeaches, oceans.

(03:58):
I could do parks, but I reallyam a water person, so let's just
say the beach, and it's in adifferent city, it's in
different place, so differentparts of my brain are activated.
I'm away long enough that I canshut down right, shut down the
familiar, shut down the routineand just explore and give myself

(04:20):
white space and things likethat.
There are things that are Iwould consider complex, problems
that just are no longer complexjust because I did that.
There are possibilities that Icouldn't see before, that become
obvious.
There are things in my businessis that our frameworks and all
of these things that I see in anew light, not even by trying so

(04:43):
hard, just from disconnectingand getting away from the
familiar.
And so, for the most part, withour vision, retreats we would
be, we would go somewhere, right, that's the whole idea, right?
So sometimes people say, well,I'm busy working in my business,
so I can't make it to theretreat.

(05:03):
I'm like, yeah, if you're busyworking in your business so much
so that you can't come for theretreat, then you really need to
be at the retreat.
You know what I mean, becausethis is where all that happens.
So the first thing is I reallystep away.
I step away from the familiar.
Okay, so this year we are goingto Fort Lauderdale and we're
going to be at the beach.
I always am like guys, you haveto reserve, you have to give me

(05:25):
enough ocean view rooms, because I want my people to get
those rooms.
They're in there, they'reoverlooking the ocean, they're
coming for the sessions, they'redoing all of that, but they
walk away changed and the next12 months are just a riot like a
good riot because of it.
Okay, so that's the first thingI do.
The second thing I do is Iinsert myself into rooms with

(05:48):
big thinkers.
Okay, so I do that on purpose, because you become like your
environment.
There may be things that havenever crossed your mind as a
possibility that a conversationover lunch we're not even
talking about sessions here,we're just talking about two
people having a conversation andyou're like whoa, mind blown,

(06:10):
like it's right there.
I never saw it.
You could I mean you could gofor a bathroom break and in the
back, hey, hi, there's that andone sentence.
You're like wait a minute.
And people come and they'retalking about their wins and
you're like you did what.
You know what I mean.
And it makes you seem like, oh,and I'm here saying this itty

(06:31):
bitty thing is not possible.
Of course it's possible, right.
So I insert myself where it'salmost like the magic centers of
my brain are set.
They're set on fire, right.
And that's what happens whenyou're in those kinds of rooms.
So big thinkers, big dreamers, doers, people who are daring
their fears, people who arebeing innovative in that space,

(06:55):
people who do not embracenegativity, right Like, even in
the midst of challenges, they'relike, okay, this is a challenge
, we're going to pivot or we'regoing to adapt this way, as
opposed to who?
Always me, right.
So I put myself because that'slike, that's like an incubator.
It is a place where visions anddreams and goals and businesses
are born.

(07:15):
And so I do that and I do itintentionally.
When I was younger, I let myrelationships happen to me, like
whatever opportunities bringand stuff like that.
Now I happen to myrelationships, right Like, I
decide this is the kind ofperson I want to be.
I find where those people aregathered and I insert myself in
those rooms, right, okay.
So again, if we go back to theEBS Vision Retreat, that's the

(07:39):
same thing that we're doing.
So we're bringing all thesepeople together who have been
together.
They understand the alternativebusiness school way.
They understand building yourdream business and your dream
life concurrently.
They understand 10X thinkingand they're doing the things
Right.
You meet people who crossed sixfigure mark.

(08:00):
You meet people who grew theirbusinesses by 400%.
You meet people who crossedtheir first million multiple
seven figures.
You meet people who they'relike yeah, we figured it out.
Now we take a vacation once aquarter, all kinds of things,
right, and to be in that roomand be there for three days like
it damages your limitingbeliefs, like your limiting
beliefs are like I want out,it's so fun.

(08:23):
So that's the second thing I do, so I step away from the
familiar and start myself intorooms with big, big, big
dreamers.
Then the third thing is I takethe time to practice visioning
and planning.
Okay, so think of it this waythe vision is the free flow,

(08:45):
thinking this is what we'regoing to do, this is what we're
going to accomplish.
It could be for the business.
It could be for your entirelife.
But let's talk business, sincewe're on the podcast.
For your business, what couldthat look like?
You allow yourself, dream, youadd you're like, what if I 10x
that?
You add a zero?
You're like, wow, what wouldthat look like?

(09:05):
And you're like, what kind ofperson do I have to become to
pull that off?
Whose help would I need?
And I just allow myself, dreamlike cray cray, dreaming, right.
But every great thing lookedcrazy before it became normal,
right.
And so I give myself thatfreedom to dream to visioner, to

(09:28):
do all of those things right.
And so when I'm done with that,I state what my goals are for
the following year and all ofthose things.
And then I plan right, becauseyou don't want to have a vision
or goal without a plan.
So what do I need to?
What are the actions that willtake me there?
Whose help do I need to getthere?

(09:49):
What mindset work do I need todo so I can be in the belief
that that's something that I canpull off right?
What are the things that got inmy way before?
How do I stop them from gettingin my way now?
What are the things that arethe most important things to do,
the 20% activities that wouldgive me 80% of the results.
What are the distractions Ineed to get rid of, like, so I

(10:09):
can have this plan and it'smapped out on paper.
So when I'm leaving, I'm kindof living with this yellow brick
road, right, like this is theroad map to where I'm trying to
go, and as a group, we do thisin October.
But this is something that I doperiodically in my own life
because I can have one year in ayear or I can have multiple

(10:30):
years in a year, and I choose tohave multiple years in a year,
and the way I do that is I dothis process multiple times a
year, right, okay, so I visionhere, I practice visionary and
I'm planning in the visionretreat.
That's the same thing that'sgoing to be happening there, the
vision retreat.
Actually, one of the things Ilove about it is where I talk

(10:53):
shop, right, we can do thebusiness stuff, but we also do
life stuff, right, so they'regoing to be planning their 2024
in all nine areas of life, sonot just business, all the other
core areas and they're going toleave with a plan, right, so
there's going to be the time forvisionary.
There's going to be the timefor planning and man, it's going
to be 2024, it's going to be awild, wild, wild, wild year.

(11:16):
Okay, so for you, the reasonwhy I'm sharing this is because
this is something that you canstart applying right away to
start creating big leaps bigleaps in your business, right?
Big leaps in your life, bigleaps in the kind of team that
you have.
You can start doing that, okay,if you're like.

(11:36):
Well, but I would love to do itin community, I would love to
do it in the EntremD BusinessSchool.
You can always schedule a call, entremdcom forward slash call,
and my team will kind of walkyou through what that would look
like.
I personally believe that foryou to be able to come into the
business school, go to theVision Retreat I have maybe nine

(11:57):
months left on your enrollmentfor the year, for your first
year, that would be, I mean,like I can't imagine a better
way to start in EBS than that.
And so, entremdcom forwardslash call and the team will
walk you through what that wouldlook like for you.
Okay, but you know that I am alover of physicians and I share
this because I want you to beable to create big, big, big

(12:23):
growth opportunities foryourself, big transitions, big
transformations.
I want you to be able to crossmilestones six figures, seven
figures, multiple seven figures,eight figures.
I would love for you to buildteams.
You have teams of people who dothe work, teams of managers,
teams of leaders.
I would love you to be able tobuild a company that is a
well-oiled machine that can workwithout you.

(12:45):
I have all these big dreamsthat we, as physicians, we will
be able to do this and we'll besavvy entrepreneurs and we will
live life on our terms.
And we started off because wewanted to change like, we wanted
to help people and be able todo that on a really large scale
and we'll be able to compete onany stage with any kind of

(13:05):
entrepreneur.
Like.
That's my dream, and if that'syour dream too, I'm telling you
that it's a reality Right fromwhere you are.
If you'll start doing thisprocess, you're putting yourself
in a stage where it's going tobe one to the other, to the
other to the other, and that Imean that will be beyond

(13:27):
fantastic, beyond fantastic.
I wanna give a really big shoutout to a doctor who's in the
Entremity Business School, justbecause this would.
I mean.
I just thought of it as Istarted telling you about the
dream.
Her name is Dr Tolu.
She's been on the podcast twiceand she just celebrated the
second year anniversary, thesecond anniversary of her

(13:49):
private practice and it's justbeen so much fun to watch.
She came on, I think, when shewas five weeks in.
She was fully booked at thetime.
Came on again.
She had grown her panel to4,000 patients and to think that
in two years you could getfully booked.
You could bring on otherclinicians to work with you and

(14:11):
they're fully booked as well andyou can figure out how to serve
your community, createfinancial freedom for yourself
and your living life on yourterms.
Being there with your family, able to prioritize your family
and you're still in year two isjust a perfect example of what
I'm trying to describe herethese big growths.

(14:32):
It's not out of reach.
I mean, there's her.
There's so many other doctorswho are doing the same thing.
I just bring up her storybecause the time of this
recording this is her practicebirthday, if you will.
So biggest shout out to you, drTolu.
You're an inspiration to thephysician community and to the
EBS community as well, and we'rerooting for you because many,
