With a degree in Communications, extensive travel and employment with organisations such as WWF.  Anna Jane Linke,  or AJ decided to educate others on reducing waste, particularly ocean pollution and garment waste. After a trip to South America where AJ ran educational programs she returned to Australia and began Seaside Scavenge in 2014.

Since 2015, Seaside Scavenge has hosted eco-action festivals where litter collected from local waterways becomes a currency in a pop-up market to purchase pre-loved clothes and goods that have been donated by the local community. Added to the days features are a line-up of local musicians, talks and stalls hosted by local community groups working in waste reduction and environmental conservation.

Most recently they have added the Looped Festival which connected over 209 Sydney-siders with 11 growing circular brands who shared their knowledge and passion for the circular economy and a cleaner planet.

In this episode we talk about the early days and possible beginnings of AJ's passion for the environment, Seaside Scavenge, Looped Festival, circular economies, waste, impact of the individual and building a tiny house.
