Jessica Lundy (00:00):
I know that you
are wearing a lot of roles in
your life.
I believe that every womanspecifically deserves to take
the time to heal properly.
So, sis, this is your safespace.
This is the place that you canlearn, that you can grow, that
you can make mistakes.
(00:21):
I want you to starttransitioning with a level of
grace and intentionality, because you were created to
weather the storm.
You were created to put so muchgoodness and phenomenal energy
into this world.
(00:52):
Welcome to the Finally Healedwith Jessica Lundy podcast,
where we prioritize mentalhealth, self-care and embracing
our healing journey together.
Welcome to season one.
This is our first episode and,as you can tell, I am excited
(01:15):
about this experience.
I am so grateful that you arehere.
I do not take for granted thatyou are watching, that you are
listening and you are now a partof our community, and I am so
glad that you are here Now.
If you are wondering who isthis woman with all this energy,
(01:38):
I'm about to tell you who I am.
My name is Jessica Lundy.
I am the host of this podcast.
I am an international keynotespeaker.
I am a life coach, a keynotewriting speaking coach, an
author, but without all of theaccolades, without all of the
(01:59):
elaborate titles.
I am a woman on a mission tohelp as many women as possible
to prioritize their mentalhealth and their well-being.
I have been someone that hasstruggled with depression and
anxiety for over a decade.
I know what it feels like toachieve the dream right Get your
(02:26):
dream job.
I competed with over 1,500people to be the face of a TV
network and I was so gratefulfor that amazing opportunity.
I was able to interviewcelebrities like Usher Raymond
the Usher Raymond on the redcarpet.
I had the opportunity to guesthost on a variety of national TV
(02:48):
shows and it literally was mydream, since I was five, to do
that.
What I did not know about thatdream is it was going to come
with working long hours.
I'm not talking about a couplehours here or there.
I was often working 60 plushours, getting paid for 40.
I was sitting on the board ofso many organizations because
(03:12):
I'm so passionate, wanting tohelp people, but I was burnt out
and I got to a point where Iwasn't feeling like the most
fulfilled version of myself.
So I knew that I had to createa structure, a plan, a processes
to help myself, make sure thatI have balance so that I could
(03:33):
truly have it all, and so I amgrateful to be able to celebrate
10 years of marriage.
I have an amazing husband that'ssuper involved.
A lot of people see Mikey.
If you've ever seen me speak, you know he's with me because he
is a phenomenal photographerand videographer.
And I am a mother to abeautiful daughter that was born
(04:00):
not one, not two, not three, but four months early.
My baby was a 24 weeker.
She was born at one pound.
She was in the hospital 285days, which is nine months, and
she has a trach because she hasa narrow airway and she also has
(04:22):
a feeding tube.
And when I say that this littleprincess is a miracle, a sign
and a wonder, that is still anunderstatement to describe baby
Abigail, an understatement todescribe baby Abigail.
So I am grateful to not just bethis international speaker, not
(04:43):
just to be one of the topspeaking coaches in the world,
but I am a caregiver for mydaughter and to be a first-time
mom, learning how to be a nurse, learning how to be the best
wife that I can be for myhusband and prioritize self-care
, sis, that is a lot, and so Iknow that you are wearing a lot
(05:07):
of roles in your life and, to behonest, you have probably
shared similar frustrations,similar challenges, similar
things that you had to overcomewith your friends and your
family, and they might not havebeen able to understand.
But that is also why I am knownas America's Big Sister,
(05:27):
because I am your big sis nowand I am here to help you and
support you and encourage you.
And if you're watching this andsaying, I'm not sure if you're
quite the big sis because I'm alittle bit older than you, that
is okay.
It has nothing to do with age,it just has to do with wisdom
and mindset.
I truly want you to have thelife that you have desired, to
(05:51):
have your entire life.
Most people are only one step, one action, one decision away
from changing their life forever, and so I am so grateful and
honored that you are here.
So you might be thinking, jessica, with everything you got
going on your plate, girl, whyare you not doing a podcast?
(06:12):
I am really doing this as alabor of love.
I have worked with thousands ofpeople, helping them achieve
their dreams and their goals, but I have noticed a consistent
theme Most people have noproblem starting something, but
a lot of people struggle withfinishing.
See when that excitement of thenew thing, the shiny new object
(06:37):
, wears off.
That's really when the work andthe discipline sets in, and so
I'm so grateful to be someonethat has reinvented myself time
and time again.
I am so grateful to be someonethat has put the work in to be
at the top of the industry intelevision, the top of the
industry in speaking, and now Iam grateful and honored to work
(07:00):
my butt off to be at the top ofthe industry with podcasting,
because I believe that everywoman specifically deserves to
take the time to heal properly.
So, sis, this is your safespace.
This is the place that you canlearn, that you can grow, that
(07:22):
you can make mistakes.
On these podcasts that are goingto be coming out on Monday,
season one is going to be packedwith practical tools.
We're going to be having girltalk.
I'm going to occasionally havefriends that stop by, sit on the
couch and really share theirheart on this healing journey.
(07:43):
I am a huge advocate of us alldoing this together.
We don't have to figure thisthing called life out by
ourselves.
We are now a community, we arenow family, and I am excited to
have you as a part of my tribe.
So I want you to think abouttransition differently.
(08:04):
Sometimes we're transitioningfrom being single to married.
Sometimes we're transitioningfrom being single to married.
Sometimes we're transitioningto becoming a parent.
Sometimes we're transitioningwithin our career field or
becoming an entrepreneur, and soI want you to start seeing
transition differently.
I want you to starttransitioning with a level of
(08:25):
grace and intentionality, because you were created to
weather the storm.
You were created to put so muchgoodness and phenomenal energy
into this world, and so when Italk about transition, it's not
necessarily going to be an easything.
Let me tell you when I wentfrom speaking all over the world
(08:48):
to having a child, I had totransition to become a new
mother, and that transition wasnot easy, especially having my
own medical health challengesand my daughter's medical health
challenges.
But surrounding myself aroundamazing family reading books I
am an avid book reader, so ifyou like books as well, let me
(09:11):
know.
We can even do a little bookclub.
But surrounding myself withself-improvement resources I am
really big on personaldevelopment, like trying to be
the best version of myself.
So I'm gonna push you on here.
When you're listening, you'regonna leave encouraged, you're
gonna leave inspired, but you'realso going to leave with some
homework, because I think it'simportant to figure out who you
(09:35):
are, as not just the titles thatyou hold right.
Sometimes, if I were to ask youwho you are, you might say, oh,
I'm a wife, I'm a mother, I'man entrepreneur, I'm this, I'm
that.
But I want you to go deeper andfigure out who you are, like
the essence of who you are, whoyour identity is, and that is a
vital exercise.
(09:55):
So I want you to bring out thatjournal right and start getting
to work Now.
During this process, it's notgoing to be easy, like get your
box of tissue ready.
Like get ready to cry, getready to release.
Some of you have been holding onto some past trauma, some
(10:16):
brokenness, some hopelessnessfor too long.
I'm the one to tell you it'stime to get back out there.
Like the things that you put onthat goals list.
It's time to stop looking atthem, goals year after year, and
it's time to start takingaction to turn those dreams into
a reality.
I don't want you to no longerbe scrolling on social media and
(10:38):
look at other women doingamazing things and think, man, I
at one point in my life had adream to do this too.
No, it's your time.
It's your time, sis, to get towork and to put yourself out
there.
You now have a community that'sgoing to support you, that's
going to encourage you, that'sgoing to back you up and let you
(11:00):
know you've got this.
You are that girl.
So I am excited about yourhealing journey.
I am excited about you doingthe work.
I am excited about you puttingyourself as your number one
priority, because that isactually required, like to be
the best wife, to be the bestmother, to be the best
entrepreneur, to be the beststudent.
(11:22):
You got to be the best you, sowe don't want to skip that vital
step on self-improvement andself-love.
So one of my favorite segmentsthat we are going to be doing
every episode is called thehealing moment, and on this
segment, I am going to be givingyou an action item, like
(11:47):
something for you to do everytime, and I want you to take
yourself out on a date.
I wish self-date was talkedabout a little bit more.
I remember there was a seasonwhere if someone was like, oh,
you should go to a restaurant byyourself, I'd be like, no, you
should go to the movies byyourself.
(12:07):
No, why would I do that?
But I realized if I am notcomfortable with my own company,
that's a problem.
So I had to go on this journeyof going on these self dates,
and I still do that to this day.
I would tell my husband hey,I'll be back.
I need some me time, so youdeserve me time and I want to
(12:30):
see pictures and videos from thedates that you're going to have
by yourself.
Solo dates are so powerful, soI want you to follow us on
social media at finallyhealedpodand tag us on your solo date so
that we can celebrate theself-love journey that you are
(12:52):
on.
I am so grateful to have youhere.

It will not be my teamresponding to with you.

(13:37):
to all of your voice notes, because I am now your big sis.
