Hello, and welcome to another episode of The Good, The Bad, and The What!? The show in which we discuss three films that we have deemed "good," "bad," or "what!?" within a subgenre, theme, motif, director or actor's filmography, and more!

This week, Ryan and Chris ring in the new year with three thrillers of different varieties (techno, procedural, and erotic) that are all set on or around New Year's. We start with Kathryn Bigelow's 1995 ahead-of-the-curve sci-fi thriller "Strange Days," which was co-written by her then-husband James Cameron. The result is a thrilling, bleak, and prophetic experience. Then, we move into 2000's "Under Suspicion," which features solid work from Gene Hackman, Morgan Freeman, and Monica Bellucci, but is let down by its terrible structure and un-engaging mystery. Finally, we discuss Roman Polanski's indulgent and (seemingly) troublingly autobiographical erotic thriller "Bitter Moon" from 1992.
