Hey everyone, welcome back.
This is episode 112, and todaywe'll be all about learning how
to connect with your desires sothat you can manifest them into
your reality.

(01:10):
Plus, there will be a guidedmeditation to help you connect
with your desires more deeply sothat you can connect with what
your heart is desiring.
So I get it.
As a first gen, even if you'renot a first gen, you understand

(01:31):
that sometimes it's hard toconnect with what you truly want
because you may have not beenallowed to for so many different
reasons.
So today's episode is reallygoing to help you understand,
maybe, the why behind you're notable to connect with your

(01:51):
desires and how you can begin toconnect with what you truly
want, what's in your heart, andhow to begin to imagine that
that's a possibility for you.
So, defining desire right,let's go ahead and start with
that.
A desire is this insatiablepassion, inspiration.

It's going to move you forward.
It moves mountains, literally,because it is so deep within you
like you can feel it.
The thing is, if you're notconnected with yourself, meaning
if you've been living life forothers and others' expectations,

(02:37):
you may not know what thatmeans and you might have to take
it back to really simple stuff.
Something that I can think ofright now is like maybe there's
an outfit that you're like oh myGod, if I just had that outfit
and I put it on and it was likebanging and I looked freaking
amazing.

(02:57):
That kind of desire, right.
Maybe there's a food thatyou're desiring and then you're
just like, oh, this bite of thisfood transforms my life and
takes me somewhere else.
Start off there.
Start off small.
Maybe it's something like maybeit's something less tangible
and more like the feeling ofbeing debt free.
So if you are a person whofeels like I have not ever been

(03:24):
able to connect with what Itruly want for my life for
myself, then you have to startreflecting on what is
overshadowing that.
What happened in your childhoodthat might be preventing you
from believing that you can behappy, that is preventing you

(03:45):
from believing that joy ispossible for you, and everyone
has had challenges.
And even if you've had a goodchildhood, you might still have
trouble connecting with it.
If you weren't allowed to dream, let's say that you went to
your parents and you told themyou wanted to be an artist of

(04:06):
some sort, growing up, or evenjust a job that no one did,
never know it, you could makemoney off of right.
That could then lead you tobelieve that those dreams and
desires that you had as a childare impossible, and even if
you're not really trying tomanifest being any of those
things, it then will trickledown to other parts of your life

(04:29):
.
Right, like, oh, maybe havinglavish vacations is not possible
for me because my parents neverhad that, or my parents didn't
ever dream of that or allow meto dream that way, or when I did
, they would tell me that'ssilly or or other negative
things that they could have said.
And it may have not been yourparents, maybe you a society,

(04:53):
maybe society says that tripsout are too expensive, right?
Or that dreaming to vacationmultiple times a year is not
possible except for the superrich, which is not true.
There's people that I know thatalways seem to be going on
vacation, and that's becausethey are stepping into those

(05:17):
true desires of what they want.
Now one thing you can do is tostart looking at outside,
external validation in regardsto some of those things that you
want to bring into your life.
Look at other people's livesand see it as a what they can do

(05:38):
.
I can do too.
That's a validation.
If someone else is alreadydoing the thing 100,000% you can
too.
And then, even if there isn'tanyone, it is still possible.
Anything in your heart that youare desiring, that you are
dreaming of whether it's adaydream that you are actively

(06:01):
looking at or a daydream thatyou thought about in the past,
that you've kind of buried awayknow that it is possible.
Everything in this world,everything in this life, once
was just a thought, just thethought.
It's amazing to think that,like everything this microphone,

(06:21):
the zoom that I record on myphone every single thing was
just once a thought, someone'sthought, before it became a
reality, before it becametangible.
So remember that anything thatyou can think of wanting to have
in your life, it is completelypossible.

(06:43):
What's important to know isthat it might be a small leap
for some people and it might bea huge leap for some people.
And you have to know, right,like, I want a million dollar
business.
Okay, does that mean that I canhave a million dollar business
in a year?
No, that would be too big of aleap for me.
Now, someone else it might benot that big of a leap.

(07:06):
Someone else might be able todo a million dollar a year from
going from zero.
Like, I'm not saying that's notpossible, it is.
But I know that for me and mylevel of thinking, my capacity
for it is not there.
So you have to know what yourcapacity is, right, like, what

(07:27):
are you desiring?
Even if you're desiring to havefive vacations in a year, you
know where are you currently.
Are you at zero vacations ayear?
You know, obviously going fromfive to zero or zero to five is
going to be different.
Right Then, if you're alreadydoing one or two.
So a desire is this internalfuel that helps you reach for

(07:54):
those aspirations, reach forthose dreams that you are
wanting to manifest into yourreality.
Again, I will say it againbecause I hear it all the time.
But I don't know what I want.
I lack clarity.
It's okay.
This meditation that I havecoming up is going to help you
with that.
But first you have to giveyourself permission.

(08:17):
You have to say to yourself itis safe to dream big.
It is safe to have desires.
I can decide to live adifferent life than I currently
have.
I can decide to have adifferent life that I currently
have.

(08:39):
Now, why am I spending all thistime talking about desires?
Because you need to know whatyou want and, like you, you the,
the inner you, not what someonehas told you, what you need to
be right and maybe no onedirectly said, maybe your

(08:59):
parents never said, you need tobe in that current role, that
current job and that certaincommunity, wherever you are in
your life currently.
Maybe no one directly said that, but there's a part of you that
feels obligated to be where youare and that dreaming big is
not okay.
And maybe you do dream big, butyou're dreaming someone else's

(09:22):
dream.
That's also important to know.
And I have come to realize thatwhat I desire in my life is
very different from others'desire in their life, and I
think there was a part of methat believed that what I
desired for my life was similarto others.

(09:45):
But now I've come to realizewell known, and so it's
important that you also makethat realization that there's
things that you desire and maybea part of you feels like, well,
I can't have that becausesomebody already else has that
or it'll take away from someoneelse.
Release that.

(10:06):
That is a mindset of scarcity.
If you believe that youattaining your desires takes
from someone else, you're nevergoing to be able to manifest
what you are wanting.
So that is another thing thatfirst gents definitely have is
this feeling of I have enough,so I cannot be asking for more,

(10:27):
but you can.
You getting more means therewill be more that you will do
with that.
That is why it's so importantfor us women of color minorities
first gen to begin to build ourwealth so that we can continue
to share that with our communityand not just share it but show

(10:49):
them what is possible.
Any way that you grow andexpand in a positive way is
going to positively influencethose around you, influence your
community.
So, again, connecting with yourdeep desire on what you want to
bring into your life how youwant to feel starts by you truly

(11:14):
acknowledging yourself, trulyconnecting with inner you.
That is the first step tomanifesting.
So I'm going to have you guysdo a guided meditation here, if
you're able to do this now.
If not, hit pause and come backto it, because a visualization

(11:37):
will help you connect with yourinner self.
You know, creating this mentalimage and if you're not a visual
person, even just connectingwith the feeling will be more
than enough so that you canbegin to unfold what your
deepest desires are.

(11:58):
Because I get it, sometimes youmight think you want something
and in a few months you realizethat might not be it.
So you might have to come backin a month or two, or even
listening to this once a weekuntil that desire becomes clear
and clear to you.
Especially if you were a personor a person who wasn't allowed

(12:20):
to imagine, who had to grow upwithout believing there was more
possibilities, just the one infront of you was the only
possibility that you had, andthat was it.
Like dreaming more than thatwas not allowed, then you're
going to have to take more timeto begin to reveal what is your

(12:43):
desire, because you have tocreate a safe space for it to
come out, and that might be, youknow, doing this meditation a
few times.
So, if that is, you know thatit's okay.
You are building your manifestin journey.
You are in control of it, souse all the tools that are

(13:07):
available to you so that you cancreate everything that you are
desiring.
So go ahead and find a quiet andcomfortable place for you to
begin this meditation, eithersitting or lying down, and, as

(13:33):
you begin to get comfortable,take a few breaths, close your
eyes and settle into thispresent moment.
Take a nice deep breath in,hold and release.

(13:54):
Take another nice deep breathin, hold and release Right in on
this next breath.
Go ahead and take a nice deepbreath in and hold your body
tight and, with exhale, releaseany tension in your body, allow

(14:26):
your shoulders to relax,unclench your jaw, soften your
forehead and allow your thoughtsto be focused solely on this
moment and breathe in at a pacethat feels comfortable to you.

(14:49):
Now imagine a warm, goldenlight surrounding you.
This light is a symbol of theuniverse energy and its support

(15:11):
for your desires.
As you breathe in, feel thislight entering your body,
feeling you with a sense ofpeace, safety and positivity.
Now bring your awareness toyour heart center, located in

(15:40):
the middle of your chest.
Notice this area glowing with agentle, radiant light.
This light represents yourinner desires, dreams and what
you want to manifest.

(16:10):
Take a moment to reflect on whatyou want to bring most into
your life.
What do you desire?
What are your goals?
What is it that you truly wantto bring into your life?

(16:33):
And to imagine these desires asvivid, beautiful images in your
mind.
As you focus on your desire,feel the emotions associated

(17:00):
with them, whether it's joy,love, excitement, fulfillment.
Let these emotions flow throughyou.
Go ahead and take a nice deepbreath in allowing these

(17:23):
emotions to grow stronger witheach breath you take.
Now imagine yourself steppinginto a reality where your

(17:44):
desires have already manifestedand come true.
Realize this reality with asmuch detail as possible.
See the colors, shapes andfaces.
Hear the sounds, voices andlaughter.

(18:08):
Feel the sensations, texturesand emotions.
Allow yourself to become fullyimmersed in this imagined

(18:29):
reality.
Feel the gratitude and joywelling up within you as you
experience this manifestation.
Take a few moments to bask inthis sensation of connection and

(18:50):
fulfillment.
You are one with your desiresand they are already in your
future.
Now gently come back to yourpresent reality.

(19:17):
Know that this connection withyour desires has been set.
The intention is in motion.
At least you go about your day.
Remember the emotions andsensations you experienced
during this meditation.

(19:39):
Now, whenever you feel doubt oruncertainty, return to this
feeling of connection with yourdesires.
Use it as the source of yourmotivation and inspiration.
When you are ready, slowlybegin to bring your awareness

(20:02):
back to your physicalsurroundings.
Wound your fingers, toes andopen your eyes when you are
ready.
Alright, now go ahead and takea moment to reflect on your

(20:25):
experience here.
Know that you've taken asignificant step towards
manifesting your desires byconnecting with them through
meditation, just in the process,and believe in your ability to
bring your dreams into reality.
So, if you're able to take out ajournal and just write

(20:49):
everything that you just feltexperienced, so you can connect
even deeper with those desires,even if you don't have a
tangible goal that you areworking towards, write down how
you felt, write down what yousaw and write down who else was

(21:10):
there with you in thisexperience.
This is how you begin toincorporate it into your daily
life and in connecting with yourdesires.
So remember that in order tomanifest, you need to connect
with your desires.
You can begin a meditationpractice to connect with them.

(21:31):
You can do journaling.
Whatever you do, you can createa routine around it, whether
you do it daily, maybe a fewtimes a week, whatever works for
you, because this is yourmanifesting journey.
So I also want to give you guysa little sneak peek to next

about how she connected with herdesires 10 years ago in her
visualizations and how that hadled to an event she hosted a few
