the-sober-butterfly_22_1 (00:00):
Hello,
beautiful butterflies.
Welcome back to the SoberButterfly.
I am Nadine.
And today we are getting Sportyish.
Sporty ish.
Okay.
Emphasis on the ish.
It is November.
Welcome to a new month, and.
When I think of November, we'rein peak fall season.
(00:22):
In fact, winter is coming.
I can feel it quite literally, the chill in the air.
But November, yeah, I'm stillriding off to fall.
And when I think of fall, Iactually think of football.
And while I don't know like alot about football, even though
I've gone to plenty of footballgames, in fact, oh my gosh.
(00:44):
Quick story time here.
Fall 2013, okay, I want you topicture it.
I'm in my final semester at FAMUin Tallahassee and across the
street, Florida State.
Our neighbor is killing it thatseason.
Let me actually give you thehistorical context.
We're talking November 2nd.
(01:06):
Wow.
I just celebrated my, what wasthat, 12 years ago?
12 years ago, November 2nd.
2013, I'm on the hill, AKA, I'min Tallahassee and I am unwell.
Okay?
I'm unwell in this time of mylife in general, but like I had
to go out hard.
(01:28):
That final semester reallypushed things before I
graduated.
So this particular day wasspecial in Tallahassee.
Like the whole town was a buzzbecause Florida State was having
an insane season and they hadthis really big game coming up
against one of their mainrivals, being Miami, the
(01:49):
University of Miami.
And so they were playing Miami.
And then this win basicallywould determine if they were to
go on to like the final victory, which.
I think is like in the a CCchampionship, and that is the
extent of my football knowledge.
Like I know that I sound like Iknow them talking about, but
like, it was just like a bigdeal basically.
(02:09):
So my friends and I were outpre-gaming as soon as possible,
I remember it was a Saturday,and I even remember what I was
wearing, and I actually have aphoto that I will share because
it is tragic, just so you canreally.
Get the full picture here, but Iwas wearing this really cute
like fitted polo FSU shirt thatI got.
(02:32):
I think I thrifted it.
Like I was definitely in my thgirl era in college and I was
really good at it actually.
So I had this really cute poloand then I wore this mini
pleated skirt that flared outand it was black and it was
cute.
And then I wore Conversesneakers.
And so my friends and I boppedaround literally probably like
(02:52):
noon-ish.
We went immediately to startpre-gaming and tailgating.
And there is video footage.
These videos live on, I actuallyposted these early days.
I took them down of course, butI posted them back in the day,
back in 2013 when Instagram wasa safe place and you could
literally upload whatever thehell you wanted.
(03:13):
Like I put these videos up thereand subsequently deleted them
because I like.
I have to have a job and I haveto be functioning in society.
People like, what was Ithinking?
Showing these videos of myfriends and I completely white
girl wasted, so we had a wholeday pre-gaming and the last
thing I remember actually beforeblacking out and I can kind of
(03:35):
piece together, parts of thestory based off of other
people's accounts and thevideos.
That I took because I was in my,like, also docu mentoree, I'll
say era as well.
Like I was constantly filming.
I was like feeling alreadynostalgic about graduating.
And so, thankfully I have thisfootage, but the last thing I
remember was being at like afrat house.
(03:58):
Florida State's campus or likeacross the street from the
stadium or close by enough towhere we could just like walk to
the stadium.
And I remember.
Standing on the table dancing.
And then I did like a keg standand that was like the last
moment.
And then there's a little likeglimmers I'll say like.
(04:21):
Little scenes that come to mind, but like in terms of the
chronology of what happenedafter I was doing keg stands.
On an empty stomach probably, and like drinking shots and like
everything, mixing everything.
Just doing everything.
Like I remember getting to thestadium and somehow I got
separated from all of myfriends, but somehow we all
(04:43):
snuck into the stadium.
And once again, I just wannaemphasize this was like the
biggest game of the season.
Like this was gonna determineeverything that they had worked
so hard for.
Everyone was tailgating, everyone was outside of the
stadium, And somehow I think wejust like walked in,, this was a
ticketed event, of course withhigh security and like somehow
(05:03):
we all made it in.
And I don't remember how, I feellike we followed behind like a
procession of like the band orlike someone going in or knows
like I was truly phal.
But yeah.
Then there was another likepoint in time where like I, was
the queen of making friends inthe bathroom.
There's like a video of me inthe bathroom with like this girl
that like, I loved, I rememberher name was Cassandra,
(05:24):
actually.
Cassie.
So, yeah, Cassie, if you'relistening to this I love you
girl.
I'll always love you.
But yeah, bonded with her.
There were tears, of course.
I think at a certain point intime.
Amongst the chaos that washappening and everyone was
fucked up.
Just so you're clear, like everyperson at that game and the
(05:44):
surrounding area, I would saylike the entire city was fucked
up.
Like Tallahassee was a collegetown.
Everything catered to FloridaState mostly.
And then like MU, we were theretoo.
And then even TallahasseeCommunity College.
So like this city is run bycollege students.
It felt like everyone was likelocked into this day and this
(06:06):
game.
And so to be in that stadium waslike very cool, monumental,
because we didn't have tickets.
And so yeah, I get separatedfrom my group of friends.
I'm chilling.
I'm making new friends in thebathroom as mentioned.
And then I think at a certainpoint it really starts to hit me
like, oh.
I can't be here.
Like I, I can't even seestraight, like the room, the
(06:27):
stadium, everything's spinning.
I'm unwell, like I need toleave, right?
I don't remember everything, butwhat I do remember is getting
into a taxi.
So this is pre Uber, I somehowfound a taxi and there was so
much traffic.
I remember I was so sick, Ivomited.
(06:48):
Throughout the course of thisday, by the way.
And then I remember the taxidriver, like looking up and we
were at Starbucks and I was soconfused because I told him
where we were going.
I knew like my apartment that Ilived in at the time was like a
part of a very popularresidential apartment complex.
So I was like, take me toSeminole Grand.
So that's why I lived.
And so he.
(07:11):
Was supposed to do that.
And then I look up and I'm atStarbucks and I'm like, wait, am
I in danger?
Like, where is this?
This is not my apartment.
And he bought me, and that'sanother thing I think I didn't
have my wallet.
There was so many things wrong.
Like I didn't have money.
I don't think I had money.
And he bought me a coffee andwas like, you need to drink this
because.
(07:32):
Yeah, like, I'm worriedbasically before, like before he
drops me home, he is like, youneed coffee.
And so the coffee comes intoplay later because I don't
remember this part, but later Ishowed up to to my apartment
complex.
And at the time I was likedating slash hooking up with my
neighbor.
He was younger than me.
(07:53):
And like I'm a senior, a supersenior because technically I
should have graduated in thespring.
But I extended my time at FMUbecause I just wasn't ready to
leave college.
And.
The funny part is the majorityof my friend group also decided
to do the same thing.
We just decided, we were like,oh, we can really push in the
(08:14):
spring to graduate or we canhang out longer and delay
reality and continue to live inthis crazy bubble.
Honestly, I have no regrets.
I almost died so many timesanyway, but back to this day.
So like I was hooking up with myneighbor and I remember I went
to his place because I don'tthink I had my key to get into
(08:36):
my apartment.
And my roommate was alsotailgating with me.
All day.
And I had lost her like she waswith the rest of my friends
somewhere.
I went immediately to hisapartment.
He lived the floor above mineand there's a picture that he
took of me that lives on todayof me with the same cute little
(08:58):
like FSU polo.
It was white by the way, andthere is like a huge, just
splotch huge, just covering allof my chest of black coffee and
my hair looks.
I look insane.
I look like I am on crack if I'mbeing honest.
Like my hair is all over theplace.
My makeup is running down myface.
(09:19):
I had like these little stickarms because I wasn't eating
enough at the time and justdrinking and like, I just looked
crazy.
I looked very sick and I wassick.
That's my sports story fortoday's episode.
So yeah, football.
I know football I eyeball areyou guys up on the trend where
it's like, oh, you don't think Iknow how to ball on Instagram?
(09:42):
I'm probably misquoting that, but like, it's something like,
oh, you don't think I know Ball.
An example could be like, oh,you don't think I know ball?
And then it's a picture of melike fucked up.
Maybe the image that I justdescribed of coffee being all
over my shirt and looking like Ijust barely survived a car crash
like that.
I don't know, ball.
(10:03):
And then cut to an image of me.
Being like four years sober andI look amazing and fabulous.
It's like, oh yeah, I know ball.
Or the opposite actually, itwould be the opposite.
It would be, oh, you don't thinkI knew ball?
And it's a picture of me todaylooking like presentable and
like cute.
And then it would be like, oh, Iknow ball.
And it's like, yeah, I am inrecovery.
I am sober, whatever, fouryears.
(10:25):
Does that make sense?
I, okay.
If you don't know what I'mtalking about, just ignore that.
So.
Football guys.
Today is episode I'm so excitedto bring to you is my fantasy
pick fan fantasy football pick.
Yeah.
What does the title say of theepisode that I actually dated a
(10:46):
guy who was super into fantasyfootball.
And I thought it was so lame.
It gave me an ick.
He and his friends used to likeput together these whole fantasy
leaks and I was just like, why?
Like, why are you doing that?
I was judging, but now I kindof, I can see why after making
(11:09):
today's episode or likeresearching.
I was like, yeah, it's fun tolike have these fantasy teams or
fantasy picks I don't know thefull scope of like how fantasy
football works either, becausehe would like try and explain it
and immediately I would zoneout.
I'd be like, wait, what?
Like, I don't care about this.
Like, why are you talking to meabout this?
(11:29):
So yeah, don't have a lot ofcontext there.
Actually, considering I datedthis guy who was super into it,
however i'm just doing it myway.
So today's episode is going tobe my sober girl fantasy draft.
Okay?
We're gonna use this tocelebrate the cozy.
End of fall because as mentionedfall, it's November.
(11:52):
It's coming to an end.
Winter is coming.
So we're talking about MVPs foryour sober lifestyle snacks.
'cause every sober girl needsher snacks.
Brands, habits, icons that keepyou thriving through this
seasonal slump.
Daylight savings was just thispast week, and while I do
(12:14):
appreciate like that extra hourof sleep, I also hate that it's
dark at 4:30 PM in New YorkCity.
Like I know other parts of theworld, like you guys, other
parts of the world, other partsof the country, you guys are
like fortunate to maybe.
Have light until 6:00 PM buthere in New York, like I'm not
(12:35):
exaggerating when I'm tellingyou that it's dark at four 30,
like the sun is setting, it'snot dark.
The sun is setting at four 30.
It is dark by 5:00 PM and I'mlike, oh, I'm gonna go to bed.
I've been gonna bed.
That's the upside.
I've been going to bed so earlybecause it gets dark so early.
So I keep coming home at likefive or whatever time I get in.
(12:57):
It changes on depending on theday, but like.
When I look outside and I'vebeen home for like an hour or
two and it's pitch black, I'mlike, oh, it's time for bed, and
it's literally like 7:30 PM SoI've been going to bed very
early and I wake up early.
Whether the holidays are hardfor you or you live for
(13:18):
holidays, like all of thesethings are coming there are a
lot of big things happening toclose out the year, and so
November offers the peakopportunity to reset.
So today's fantasy footballthemed draft is going to
celebrate this cozy end fall towi to wind down the year.
(13:44):
So why don't you go ahead andopen your notes app because we
are drafting our way into theultimate sober girl main
character glow up season.
the-sober-butterfly_22_11 (13:56):
Let's
get into it.
So for round one we have ourNovember reset era, and to set
the tone.
I want you to think of Novemberas basically the filler episode
of the year.
Like it's not spooky, right?
Halloween's over, it's not asfestive.
(14:17):
That's what December's for.
Although we do haveThanksgiving.
November is like emotionallyconfusing.
That's why it also is theperfect time to reset because
everyone is waiting now untilJanuary to get their life
together.
We are starting and preparingnow so that we don't have to get
ready.
We're gonna be ready.
I already shared.
(14:39):
My 75 hard to end 2025 episode, which you should go listen to if
you haven't.
It is time.
Okay.
Girlies, it's time to get ready.
Okay.
It's time to prepare ourselvesto start 26.
Our best form.
So my fantasy dropped to picknumber one is the Cozy Reset
(15:03):
Hour.
The cozy reset hour is exactlyhow it sounds.
Here's how it works.
You put on your COMT loungewearcue, your favorite sofa,
butterfly playlist, or anypodcast of your choice or music,
play something right?
And then just start withsomething small.
(15:24):
Tidying your kitchen, maybechanging your sheets or wiping
down the bathroom mirror likeyou are in a slow-mo music
video.
Then you reward yourself withsomething cozy, a cup of tea, a
mocktail, or that pumpkin, Idon't know.
Latte candle.
You said you were saving forlike a special occasion.
(15:45):
You are the special occasion.
And if you're watching this onYouTube and you see the candle
playing in the back, playing inthe back, burning in the back, I
have a candle by a Yankee candlethat I'm obsessed with right
now.
It's the autumn wreath.
It was on sale on Amazon, socheck it out.
It burns so slow.
There's like notes of cinnamon.
(16:05):
It smells like fall mixed with alittle undertone of Christmas,
but not overwhelming.
Not like Piney.
It's an autumn reef.
And I think the reef part islike what makes me think of like
more notes of Christmas, butit's good.
I'll link it in the show notesif anyone wants a scandal.
Anyway the Cozy Reset Hour isthe sober equivalent of a
(16:27):
pre-season training because it'skeeping you grounded, it's
keeping you centered, and thenyou're ready for the chaos of
life.
Because here's the truth.
When you were drinking, yourweekends were about escape, but
now your every day is more aboutintention and you're not running
away from life.
You are curating life, and soyou should curate the best life
(16:52):
for yourself.
You've earned your dream life.
And I think that's the keydistinction.
Even when I'm praying ormanifesting or trying to affirm
a reality for myself, I thinkthe feeling piece that sometimes
is overlooked is the, yes, I'mgrateful for everything I have
the gratitude, the intention, like this is what I want.
(17:14):
But then the missing piece Ithink is the self-confidence.
Level of expectation.
Like you almost have to have theconfidence level of a mediocre
white man.
Like I know that's been saidbefore, but it's true.
Like you have to have thisunwavering belief that you
deserve this.
(17:35):
You are here and you've earnedthe right to be here and you are
a living testimony to theenduring strength of what it
takes to.
Kick a habit like drinking orchoose a better life for
yourself.
Okay,
so that is our number one draft
(17:57):
pick.
There are some other runner repsthat should receive honorable
mentions here.
I love Mel Robbins and I thinkshe has a really great morning
routine.
She has this whole like toolkitthat she created for.
The perfect morning routine andI loved when she shared this on
her podcast, so I will link thetoolkit in the show notes.
(18:18):
But basically her morningroutine is, don't snooze my
alarm.
I think she also has that fivesecond roll.
So like as soon as you open youreyes, countdown from five or
count up, 1, 2, 3, 4.
When you say five, immediatelyyour feet hit the floor, right?
So don't snooze your alarm.
(18:38):
Make your bed number two.
Like that just sets the tone forthe day.
How are you gonna show up to theworld and like, do you love
Future you?
Like you wanna get into afreshly made bed every night,
you wanna like climb into thecovers.
When I was drinking, I was sodisorderly in many aspects of my
life, and like tidiness was notsomething I was very good at.
(18:59):
That's'cause I was always likeoperating from this very low
base line of like, I'm hung overor my a DH ADHD was untreated,
so like I'm all over the placeand like literally everything is
all over the place in my room.
So, long story short, now that Ihave a grip on both of those
things I have to have a cleanspace to be able to think
clearly or straight, if thatmakes sense.
(19:21):
So anyway, make your bed numberthree.
She has like this mirror highfive thing.
It's a little cheesy, but Ithink it really helps you give
yourself a high five in themirror.
I'm not joking.
And they say, when I say they, like neuroscientists, say that
it helps to rewire your brain tofocus more on like self-love and
(19:43):
positive reinforcement.
So do it, don't do it, whatever.
Then she recommends drinkingwater before anything else.
Hydrate first.
I do this ideally a pro tip, like you're supposed to delay
caffeine for the first, like twohours of the day, but.
I'm not there yet.
And then take in the morninglight.
(20:03):
So that's why I was saying getthe sunlight for that boost of
serotonin because sunlight helpsto reset your body clock, like
your inner clock.
It helps to boost your energy, improve your mental health, even
on days where it's like cloudyor overcast, like still go
outside as soon as you can andthis is actually a big game
changer.
I make it a point every day.
(20:25):
Before I like shower and likereally start my day to go
outside.
And it also helps me figure outlike weather-wise, because the
weather where I live has beenlike up and down and it's like,
do I need a light jacket?
Whatever.
I can't always rely on like Sirior Alexa telling me what the
weather is.
So I go outside and like just.
Take that moment for myself.
(20:45):
It's also quiet, which is reallynice for me, who's constantly
overstimulated in a big city.
And then lastly, she recommendsmoving your body.
Whether that includes going fora walk while you go outside or
stretching or doing a fullworkout.
I've been so good about doing mytwo workouts a day.
One outside and one.
(21:06):
Of my choice and I do a lot ofYouTube videos.
I'm actually putting together awhole tracker for you guys, so
I'll share that once it's done,because I've been trying
different fitness contentcreators and the YouTube is
like, I cannot tell you how muchI learn and use YouTube.
It baffles me that theseworkouts are free because they
(21:27):
are essentially the same thingthat you.
You, when I say you, I mean mereally, that I spend$45 a pop on
a class, a studio boutiquefitness class.
So yeah, this is free and it's.
Convenient because it's, I cando it in my living room.
So yeah, move some.
(21:47):
This will change your entireday.
There's no better way, in myopinion, by just starting your
day with a workout, you don'thave to think about it again.
You feel amazing.
You have those endorphins.
So those are my runner ups foryou.
Get some sunlight.
But then I went into Mel Robin'sPerfect morning routine.
(22:08):
So you got an extra little bonusrunner up there.
Okay.
Round two, we have the mosticonic sober brand.
So this is one of my favoritecategories because every fantasy
draft has its power players andin the non ALK world.
(22:31):
These are the ones running theshow.
So my number one draft pick isgoing to be Mocktail Club.
This brand will forever hold avery special place in my heart
on the top of my super rosterbecause it's not only delicious,
it's purposeful, and it's womanowned and it's black owned, and
(22:53):
it's creating this likesophisticated.
Very bold flavors that actuallytaste grownup, and I love that
Mocktail Club isn't trying toimitate alcohol.
I've actually taken a little bitof a hiatus from drinking as
many.
Non like brands and drinks, especially the ones that very
closely taste like alcohol.
(23:14):
Like I just am like, it doesn't,though, it doesn't taste like
alcohol.
And then for me it's not eventhat it's triggering.
It's just kind of like alcoholdoesn't even taste good.
Like it's ethanol.
Like we know that like nobodylikes really the taste of
alcohol.
We like the effects maybe, or wethought we liked the.
The effects of it, but like, yeah, I'm not so much on my non
(23:34):
ALK tip, but anyway, mocktailClub.
Isn't trying to imitate alcohol,it's really staying in its own
lane and every drink feelsintentional and elevated, like
something you'd proudly bring toa dinner party or to like a
housewarming or to gift yoursober curious best friend.
(23:56):
So yeah, my top pick goes toMocktail Club and I love
supporting a black woman ownedbusiness in the NA space.
It just feels extra special tome because we lack so much.
Representation in that space.
And representation matters notjust in sobriety, but in
lifestyle and luxury.
(24:17):
And we all deserve beautiful, intentional products that
reflect us.
And if you haven't triedMocktail Club, I'll link their
website in the show notes.
As a runner up, I'm actuallygonna go with liquid death.
It's my favorite non alkseltzer.
I do the plain flavor, the blackcan.
I always have a liquid death.
(24:38):
I feel like it's a great talkingpiece.
In fact, sometimes I'm like,it's too good of a talking
piece.
Every time I'm freaking drinkinga liquid death, someone thinks
I'm drinking alcohol.
And it's kind of like perfectfor me.
'cause then I get to tell'em no,of course I'm not drinking.
A beer right now, it kind oflooks like, I guess a, like a
artisanal beer can.
And that's intentional, Ibelieve, because liquid death is
(25:01):
often served at like musicfestivals and it can definitely
blend in as.
Looking as though it's analcoholic beverage and like the
whole marketing behind liquiddeath.
And even the name is like, it'shardcore.
It's hardcore seltzer sparklingwater.
But I actually like thecarbonation of liquid death.
Like I'm a little bit of aseltzer sparkling water snob,
(25:25):
and I drink it all the time.
I think I'm well qualified inthat area.
I've tried a lot of differentbrands and Liquid Death is my
favorite right now.
Okay,
next up it's time to draft our
celebrity MVPs.
So these are the icons whoinspire us to stay grounded,
(25:49):
level up, live with intention.
And because every fantasy draftneeds a captain, I know that
this one is leading with puresupermodel energy., My best
celebrity in recovery, numberone pick is drum please.
(26:09):
Naomi Campbell.
Yes.
I think a lot of people thoughtI was probably gonna see Bella
Hadid and one of my favoriteepisodes from early days of the
Pod was an episode I did withKeisha from Done With
Debauchery, and we each sharedour favorite sober celebs and
hers was.
Bella Hadid, which I love,Bella.
(26:29):
And then I said Naomi Campbell.
And we hadn't pre-planned that, but like it was funny that we
both chose supermodels.
But I have to go with NaomiCampbell because she's timeless.
She's clearly stunning.
She's disciplined and she's beenin her sober era for a long
time.
I just relate so hard to someonethat is gorgeous.
Obviously joking, I relate sohard to someone who like very
(26:54):
much was in their.
Party girl era and like so lostin that.
And at certain parts of herstory, it was so dark.
She said that she would look inthe mirror and not recognize
herself and she just basicallyfelt like she was a shell of a
human.
And I relate to that because Ithink from the outside I
presented as though I was the itgirl.
(27:15):
Like the girl that had it allfigured out and was living her
best life and like travelingabroad all the time and you
know, looking a certain way.
But inside I felt dead.
Like I felt just.
A hole, a black hole.
And that was right before Ichose to get sober.
(27:35):
And obviously she's a blackwoman.
I'm a black woman, and I justlove when black women win and
they choose to evolve, you know?
They choose to evolve, and it'snot necessarily about
apologizing for your pastbecause Naomi Campbell, she's
not someone who I think evenreally knows how to apologize.
She is very, like, direct, youknow, she'll say how she means
(27:59):
it.
She's a great reminder thatrecovery isn't about losing your
edge because she's still verysharp.
Okay.
Naomi is still.
Fierce and still iconic.
But there's also like peace andpurpose behind it.
I think she had her kid or kidsthrough surrogacy, and she's an
older mom, which I feel likethat's probably gonna be my
(28:20):
story if I have kids.
I just respect the hell out ofher and I don't think I'm now
once again speculating because.
She hasn't quite come out andsaid anything like this, but I'm
imagining that this life thatshe has with her family that
she's made, we don't knowanything about the baby's
father.
We don't know anything about herpersonal life in that way, but
her discretion is not detractingaway from the fact that none of
(28:41):
that would've been possible.
Without sobriety, like I don'tthink she would be living this
life that she lives withouthaving chosen to get sober.
So Naomi Campbell's Drug ofchoice was.
Cocaine and alcohol addiction.
And in 1999 she went to rehaband has been sober for many
(29:03):
years.
And word on the street, is thatshe has attended AA meetings and
has stated that she does notmiss alcohol.
She feels so much better withoutit.
What I really love about NaomiCampbell's story, which I think
is definitely worth mentioninghere, is a big part of Naomi
(29:24):
getting sober was actually dueto her friendship that she had
with Mary j bj.
Naomi Campbell has shared thatMary j Blige inspired her to go
to rehab in the first place.
Like they had been friends fordecades And Mary j Blige is also
a powerhouse.
She's actually gonna take therunner up spot for me because,
(29:45):
Mary j Blige is definitelynoteworthy in terms of her sober
journey, in her story.
and just to wind down with NaomiCampbell's story, so she's
pretty candid about heraddiction and in.
94.
She said that she tried cocainefor the first time and I think
she was like 24.
I think just like the pressureand the like lifestyle of being
(30:08):
one of the most salt out modelsand greatest models of her time
and of the times, in my opinion, she was working a lot.
Believe it or not, cocaine isconducive for stressful work
environments.
And so I think it was just aperfect storm.
But Naomi's clean and sober now,so it was a success.
the-sober-butterfly_22_11-07 (30:32):
So
we're winding down with my bonus
rounds, my November MVP picks.
Let's wrap this with someseasonal awards.
So my best sober snack, top pickis popcorn.
Um, popcorn.
It's crunchy, it's cinematic.
(30:53):
It's perfect for dramaticself-reflection under a blanket
like cue, Lorela Gilmore lyingon the couch.
With a blanket and a big tub orbowl of popcorn, like it's
perfect.
And it also representstransformation, I actually make
my own popcorn from scratch, soI, when I say from scratch, I'm
(31:13):
buying the kernels.
I buy the kernels because I'mbetter than everyone and I, you
know, grab a bowl and I put someoil in there and I heat it but
anyway, popcorn, when you makeit from scratch, like me, I'm
such a trid wife.
When you make it on the stovetop, it's transformative because
it starts off as a kernel, butwith a little heat, a little
(31:35):
pressure, suddenly it'sthriving.
It literally pops.
Okay.
And that's what I want foreveryone.
I want everyone to pop, pop off.
My best cozy, sober activity isgoing to involve a bathtub, so
if you have access to a bathtub, please utilize it.
(31:57):
I have been living in my currentapartment for like.
Two years, and I have abeautiful bathtub and a
beautiful shower head.
And I realized until the summerthat I had never taken a bath in
my bathtub.
Like what?
So I've been really getting intobaths lately.
(32:17):
Like I put some essential oil inthere, I light a candle.
I bring my speaker and I'lllisten to a podcast or I will
like play some music.
So yeah, I'm really into takingbubble baths right now.
It's also great for activerecovery since I've been working
out so much.
Sometimes I'll put some Epsomsalt in there.
(32:39):
Okay, my November playlist, MVPwinner goes to Olivia Dean.
Enough said, right.
I know I'm probably so late tothe party, but I cannot stop
playing Olivia Dean's album.
The Art of Loving.
I first discovered Olivia Deanlike most people on Instagram,
(33:01):
right.
She has a great.
Team in terms of the way theypresent her is just like this
ethereal creature, like goddess.
She's incredible.
I love her fashion.
I love her voice.
I love her music.
I love her style.
Like everything about her islike iconic already if I were a
famous singer, I would wannalike be Olivia Dean meets
Rihanna.
(33:23):
That would be my.
Persona, um, my avatar as a popstar.
But anyway, Olivia Dean's albumis incredible and one of the few
albums I can listen to fromstart to finish and not skip a
track.
And that's how I feel.
So if you haven't heard thealbum already, I think it's
perfect for fall.
(33:43):
I think it's perfect for anyseason, but like it's definitely
my November pick.
the-sober-butterfly_22_11 (33:53):
