During their 40-year journey through the desert, God’s people earned judgement over and over. But God continued showing them mercy, often because Moses advocated for them. In this discussion of Deuteronomy 9, Pastor Connor talks about Moses as a mediator between God and Israel. He also examines how Moses foreshadowed our great mediator, Jesus Christ. As our sacrifice and our advocate before God’s throne, Jesus is our sole source of salvation, past, present, and future.
This week, Jason, Teresa, and Connor discuss a section of Deuteronomy 9 that had to be cut from the sermon, the parallel of Moses’s intercession on behalf of Israel and Christ’s intercession before the Father for us, Satan’s conversations with God where he is our accuser, and the distinction between the various intercessors that are part of the Catholic faith and the concept of Jesus as the only holy, innocent, undefiled High Priest and intercessor. Oh, and Teresa tries to stump Jason with an eclipse-themed question.
