La Doctora Susana Chow es un parteaguas en la petroquímica mexicana. Su formación en la ingeniería química la llevó a trabajar en el Instituto Mexicano del Petróleo, lugar en el que fundó el Grupo de Investigación del Instituto. Al ver su potencial, Leopoldo García-Colín Scherer la envió a especializarse y doctorarse en Francia, decisión acertadísima porque, a su regreso, Chow generó incontables patentes, escribió libros y dirigió a generaciones de ingenieros químicos que buscan ser como ella.
