Practice makes p- did you think we were gonna say perfect? You must be new here ;)

Being a perfectionist is rough stuff and can cause major impacts to your physical and mental health. We are conditioned to believe that there is only one right way to be and one path to follow and that veering away from those standards means absolute failure.

In our fourth, completely unedited and imperfect episode, we explore various forms of perfectionism, explain why they're shit, and how you can tell perfectionism to literally suck it.

If you still have "practice makes perfect" rattling around in your head, here are some tips to help support your imperfect journey:

  • Avoid editing your life "behind the scenes" by not using filters or spending significant amounts of time editing your content.
  • Therapy baybeeeeee.
  • Understand there is no one right way to be.
  • Don't say sorry for taking up space or using your voice.

Imperfect book recommendations:

  • The CBT Workbook for Perfectionism: Evidence-Based Skills to Help You Let Go of Self-Criticism, Build Self-Esteem & Find Balance by Sharon Martin
  • The Girl Who Never Made Mistakes: A Growth Mindset Book for Kids to Promote Self Esteem by Mark Pett
