Speaker 1 (00:09):
Thank you.
How are you doing, everybody?

(00:36):
And welcome to Wisconsin Sportson the go with Trage.
I'm your host.
Trage, it is Monday, a littlerainy over the weekend there,
little rainy, little rainy, butI mean not a whole lot else
happening there.
I mean you could be down in theIowa region, nebraska region.
They were hit by some prettynasty storms over the weekend.

(00:59):
Here, oklahoma, texas, samething Kansas, missouri.
I mean I was watching a littlebit of some of the videos coming
out of there and, holy man, prayers to everybody down in
that situation down there, because man oh man, some of
those videos, some of thewreckage and some of the
tornadoes that touched downthere that's what I was talking

(01:19):
about.
There's tornadoes that toucheddown there.
Some of the videos andeverything coming out of there
is all you can say is hopefullythat it was minimal casualties
and all we were seeing was homes.
That's the biggest thing.
Is that?
I mean, at the end of the day,we're just hoping.
As you know, you can't stop it,but it's hoping that everybody
is, I mean, for the most part, okay down there.

(01:40):
So prayers off to everybody inthat situation.
But coming here on the monday Imean the weekend didn't do a lot
this weekend here.
Uh, a lot of work around thehouse.
That was about it.
That's about all I had going onover the weekend here.
And well, I was preparing towatch me a full weekend of

(02:02):
wisconsin sports.
And well I, I got a goodBrewers game, right.
I got one good Brewers game, not three.
I got one good Brewers game.
Bucs played, you know, goodgame on Friday.
Got into overtime there andthen I mean, they played well on
last night there.

(02:22):
But Bucs go down 3-1 in theseries and it's heading towards
Game 5 with the question marksaround some of the big guys in
the Bucs starting lineup and onthis team.
So we got lots to get in.
I wanted to get into the Packerstoday Just because that was

(02:46):
about the best thing to come outof the weekend there.
Right, was the Packers NFL, thedraft?
Right, the best thing thathappened this weekend was the
draft.
We think, right, it's a waitand see situation with Packers
and their draft picks, but Imean that was probably the best
thing to come out of the weekendthere, but I don't know if I'm
going to get to it today.
I don't know if I'm going toget to it today.

(03:07):
I want to talk about the Brewerstoday.
I want to talk about thisweekend set the Brewers had.
They have a game coming up heretoday against the Tampa Bay
Rays.
So I want to get into theBrewers weekend series with the
Yankees, talk about that game.
And then also I want to look atthis Bucs series because the
Bucs will be back at the Pfizernow for game five, a do-or-die

(03:28):
game five there.
And I mean it's now or never.
It's now or never.
Will we see Giannis?
Will we see Dame?
I don't know, I really don't.
I truthfully don't.
Dame, I heard, was not in thewalking boot anymore.
So better signs with Dame thanGiannis at this point.

(03:48):
But I just got that feelingwith Giannis that I don't know
if he can sit out and watch thismuch longer and not contribute
at all.
So we're going to wait and seeon that whole situation.
But first off, today I want tolook at the Brewers, the Brewers
weekend set that they had withthe New York Yankees.
And look at the Brewers, theBrewers weekend set that they
had with the New York Yankees.
And well, it was one game ofthis series that was pretty good
.
Outside of that I mean not sogood, not so good of a series

(04:11):
for the Brewers there back atAmerican Family Field after a
pretty good road trip Cominginto Friday's game there against
the Yankees.
Brewers win that one in 11innings.
They won that game 7-6.
Brewers got the scoring openedearly there, 2-0 lead early and
then the Yankees they answeredback 3-2 there and then I mean
Brewers added on a run in thesixth and then they had a run in

(04:34):
the tenth.
Both teams scored in the tenththere to make it that 6-6 tie.
And then the Brewers got itdone in the bottom half of the
11th inning, a walk-off therefor Joey Ortiz.
Looking at that game as a total, jared Koenig got the win for
the Brewers there.
Tonkin took the loss for theYankees.
I thought it was interesting.
Tonkin has had like three teamsnow in the past couple weeks

(04:56):
here.
He had the Mets and then he had, I believe, the Twins and then
he came back to the Mets and nowhe's with the Yankees.
So interesting stuff that theBrewers have seen talking
already this year, but not inthat same uniform.
Looking at the Brewers in thisgame hitting I mean Brewers nine
hits in this game.
Nine hits in this game comparedto six for the Yankees
Contreras, one for five in thisone.

(05:17):
Adamas, one for four.
Hoskins, one for five.
Blake Perkins, one for five.
Sanchez, one for five.
Terang, two for four.
Blake Perkins, one for five.
Sanchez, one for five.
Terang, two for four.
Joey Ortiz first career homerun and also that walk-off hit.
He was two for four on the gamethere with four RBIs.
And then Jackson Churro, he was0 for three in this game.
Oliver Dunn did pinch hit late.
He was 0 for one.
And then Weimer came into thegame there and was in left field

(05:40):
for the Brewers.
So Brewers, hitting-wise I meanyou're talking about a team 11
strikeouts in this game here, three walks, seven RBIs, nine
hits.
I mean not a great day at theoffice hitting the baseball for
the Brewers, but enough to gether done right.
Enough to get her done there.
Terang and Ortiz both continuetheir hot starts to this 2024

(06:01):
season.
Looking at the pitching for theBrewers and this is where the
weekend got bad for MilwaukeeColin Ray, six innings in this
one, four hits, five runs, fiveof them earned.
Three walks, four strikeouts, three home runs given up for
Colin Ray.
Yankees came to town and theywere hitting the long ball.
That's all they were doing.
It was a long ball just missedpitches by the Brewers and the

(06:26):
Yankees didn't miss.
The Yankees did not miss inthis series here Milner, he had
an inning pitch there, one hitand one strikeout.
Poguero, an inning with astrikeout.
Hudson, an inning with twowalks and a strikeout.
And then Jared Koenig came infor two innings, one hit, one
run, one walk and a strikeoutthere for Koenig Solid stuff.
Koenig's been solid for theBrewers.

(06:48):
I don't expect a world out ofhim, he's just been a solid guy
in the bullpen along with Hudson.
Both them guys have been solidfor the Brewers here in their
short times up in the bigs withthem.
So good stuff there on thebullpen in that game.
Collin Ray, like I said, though, gets roughed up early on in

(07:08):
this one and that led to thedeficit early on for the Brewers
there.
And, like I said, yankees Imean in this series it was home
run after home run.
Soto had a home run in thisgame for Dugo had a home run,
grisham had a home run.
So I mean you're talking abouta team that they are called the
Bombers for a reason, and theyreally showed it in this series

(07:29):
here against Milwaukee.
So that was Friday nightBrewers 7-6 win over the Yankees
in 11 innings.
That led us into the Saturdaygame there and this one got ugly
and it got ugly fast for theBrewers.
Ugly and it got ugly fast forthe Brewers.

(07:50):
You look at this game.
I mean three.
Verdugo had a home run thereearly in this ball game for the
Yankees and then it was justlike the floodgates open.
The Yankees got three in thefirst inning there and then they
had three in the third, one inthe fifth, four in the sixth and
four in the ninth.
And that was the big separatorin this game here.
I mean you're talking, I wasjust talking about the home runs
there.
Verdugo went deep there andthen we all saw Judge go deep,

(08:10):
rizzo Stanton went deep.
I mean Stanton went deep off ofOwen Miller.
So that doesn't really count, but they all went deep in this
ballgame here for the Yankees.
In this one, looking at theBrewers side of it, contreras
led off 0-2.
He had a walk and a strikeout.
Frelick, he played third alittle bit in this one 0-1.

(08:31):
And then we saw Willie Adamasgo 0-4 in this game.
Hoskins was 1-3 with that homerun early on.
Sanchez 1-4.
Ortiz 2-4 in this one OwenMiller 0-4.
Orchuro went 1-4, and JoeyWeamer went 0-3.
Joe Ross got torched.

(08:52):
Simple as that.
Joe Ross got torched in thisgame here.
You know, I can't say I knew itwas going to happen, I was
hoping it wouldn't happen.
But Joe Ross, this is whathappened to him with Washington.
This is what we were kind ofguessing would happen at some

(09:16):
point.
That is what happened in thisgame here Missed locations,
leaving balls up and over theplate there with minimal
velocity on them and not a lotof movement, and that led to a
lot and a lot of hits and a lotand a lot of long balls.
In this one You're talking aboutfive innings, eight hits, seven
runs, six of them earned, threewalks, five strikeouts and a

(09:40):
home run given up for Joe Rossthere.
Not a great outing for Joe byany means in this game here he
got roughed up big time.
And then Vieira came in for aninning.
He got roughed up Four inningsor four hits, four earned runs,
two walks, one strikeout and twohome runs given up for Vieira
there.
And then Jansen Junk gave uptwo hits and he had a strikeout

(10:01):
in that inning there, followedby Owen Miller.
Owen Miller two innings pitchfive hits, four earned runs, one
walk in this game.
So Owen Miller's not the bestguy to turn to if needed.
Owen Miller is not the guy totry to preserve a lead.
He's not a rowdy to les kind ofpitcher.
That's what we're getting outof this year.
But I mean Brewers, they justdidn't have an answer.

(10:23):
They didn't have an answer inthis game.
Yankees just started hittingthe long ball and once it
started, once the floodgatesopened, it was downhill from
there for the Brew crew and theyweren't able to battle back in
this one.
Hoskins did have an error inthat game there.
He did have a fielding error inthis game Against oh excuse me

(10:45):
there against this Yankees team.
15-3 was the final there.
19 hits in total for theYankees in this game here,
compared to the Brewers' five.
Not great.
Not great in game two of thisseries and that led us into game
three.
That led us into game three.
You know we were hoping Brewerswould bounce back.
You just got put up with 15runs the day before.

(11:07):
You should bounce back in thisgame and make something of it.
15-5 was final in the game onSunday.
There, 15-5.
Yankees score first one run inthat first inning and then I
mean zeros across the board.
It looked like it was headingtowards a pitcher's duel, kind
of a low-production,low-offensive day.
And then came that fifth inningThree runs for the Yankees in

(11:30):
that top of the fifth, followedby four by the Brewers in the
bottom of the fifth.
It was like all right, allright, it's tied up, we're back
in this thing, let's do it.
Let's do it now.
Well, top of the sixth Sevenruns for the Yanks in that top
of the sixth.
Brewers battled back I mean notbattled back Scored a run in
the bottom of the sixth and thenit was two in the seventh and

(11:57):
two in the eighth for theYankees there.
That led to that 15-5 loss forthe Brewers 18 hits for the
Yankees in Uribe took the lossfor the Brewers.
Looking at the Brewershitting-wise in this game here,
I mean they were hitting thebaseball one for four for
Frelick there, but two for fivefrom Contreras, two for four
from Adamas, three for five fromBowers, one for one from

(12:17):
Sanchez in this game here, onefor four for Perkins and then
one for five for Jackson Churroin this game here.
Looking at the pitching, tobiasMyers I mean all things
considered, didn't pitchterrible.
I mean you're talking about aguy, young guy, facing a pretty
good, hot team in the Yankeesthat we saw the day before Five

(12:38):
innings, five hits, four earnedruns, five strikeouts and two
home runs given up there.
The home run, I mean you'retalking about leaving, like I
was talking about joe ross, likeI talked about colin ray
leaving pitches up, leavingpitches up and over the plate,
and that's what tobias myers didin that game there.
I mean the one, the home runthat he gave up there too, I
believe who was it that hit thathome run there against him?

(13:01):
It wasn't verdugo again itmight have, was it off.
It was Judge hit one in thefirst inning, volpe.
It was Anthony Volpe that hitthat one in that inning there
that he left a breaking ballover the plate there.
And I mean we saw the result.
We saw the result, and that's Imean, the way the Brewers

(13:22):
pitching was happening thisweekend Pitches over the plate,
yankees weren't missing.
Result, and that's I mean, theway the brewers pitching was
happening this weekend pitchesover the plate, yankees weren't
missing.
Yankees came into town.
They were pretty cold.
Their judge was cold, rizzo wascold.
They didn't leave town cold, that's for darn sure.
So they got hot.
Coming into milwaukee there, uh, brewers, like I was talking
hitting.
I mean hitting wasn't bad, itwasn't great, but it wasn't bad
in this game here, just not ableto produce runs like the

(13:44):
Yankees were in this series here.
Looking at the pitching, like Iwas there.
Tobias Myers solid day, not notgreat, not over the top, just
solid.
That's all you can ask out ofhim, I guess.
Looking at the bullpen, thentwo-thirds of an inning out of
Uribe there, two hits, fiveearned runs.
And then we had Puguero come infor a third of an inning, two
hits and two earned runs.

(14:04):
Jansen Junk he gave up eighthits in two innings, four earned
runs and a home run giving upfor him there.
And then Jake Bowers did finishit out an inning, one hit and
two walks.
Otherwise he got out of thebases loaded jam.
So you want to know somethingJake Bowers might have had the
best pitching performance of theentire weekend for the Brewers
there.
So I mean we were going to runinto this at some point.

(14:30):
Right, we were talking about theBrewers bullpen being taxed.
We were talking about thestarters not able to get the
Brewers set up in a goodsituation, heading into their
bullpen there, and I mean thisgame on Sunday.
They did I mean you talk aboutTobias Myers before.
I mean those foreign runs, yeah, that bites.
But the Brewers did.
I mean they tacked on forthemselves.
It was four, four, it was abrand new ball game heading into

(14:53):
that big inning for the Yankeesthere in that sixth inning.
I mean you're talking about ateam.
You got your rebate in there.
This was supposed to be one ofthe guys, one of the guys that
we could rely on, that we couldcount on.
He was going to be a shutdownguy for us.
Not the case.
It's not the case right now.
Uribe is struggling.
He is struggling to find hisstuff and I mean the walks,

(15:15):
three walks in that game there.
Now I'm going to tell you thisI don't care what the MLB says,
because afterwards the umpiresapologized for this game and I
saw it and I was like great, youapologized for the game.
What is that going to do for usnow?

(15:36):
What is that going to do?
Aaron Judge slid into secondbase and if you haven't seen the
video, look it up.
Aaron Judge slid into the baseand it was a feet first slide
and his hand, his left hand wasraised in the air.
Raised in the air.
Now.

(15:57):
I've seen a lot of crazy slides.
I've seen a lot of guys do someodd stuff when they slide.
That's not it.
That was blatantly obvious.
And I don't like Aaron Judge.
Never have, never, will.
And you might like Aaron Judgeout there, I'm not going to say

(16:20):
that you can't, I'm not going togive you reasons why I dislike
him right now, I just don't likehim.
I have never been on the AaronJudge I love Aaron Judge hype
train Never been there.
So I already don't even likethe guy.
Now he slides into second baseand does this and I, you know I

(16:40):
I love the game of baseball, butthere are times where it's
imperfect, right, and thoseproblems we thought were being
resolved by this brand newinstant replay.
We can review everything youwant when you want.
We can fix calls.

(17:02):
We can make out calls that theguy was actually safe.
We can make him safe.
We can make him out if he wasout.
We can do all that for you want.
We can fix calls.
We can make out calls that werethe guy was actually safe.
We can make him safe.
We can make him out if he wasout.
We can do all that for you.
Now why can't this be reviewed?
Something as simple as aninterference call?
Because we call interferencesright it's.

(17:22):
It's a, it's a baseball call.
Now you run, you don't get down.
It's interference right.
You run out of your baselineand get in front of a um and get
in front of a guy's path to beable to see right, it's
interference, right.
You, your catcher blocks theplate without the baseball
Doesn't get moved into the basepath.
He's blocking the play.

(17:42):
Right, interference Catcher,interference there.
I mean we call all thesedifferent, not technical term,
but we call all these differentinterferences right.
Why can't we review them?
That's what I want to know.
Why can it not be challenged?
We can challenge everything else, not everything right balls and
strikes.

(18:02):
You had everything else likethat, but it seems like we're
expanding this thing so far outthat we can explain we can.
We can challenge plays at theplate.
We can challenge plays atsecond base, we can challenge us
for guys out at first.
Right, we can challenge allthis crap, but we can't
challenge that.
Are you kidding me why?
And it isn't just in thisbrewer game.
I would like you know if we canchallenge everything these days

(18:25):
, apparently.
I mean, look at the nba, they're challenging everything.
If we can challenge everything, why can't we challenge this call
?
Because in this circumstancethey didn't call interference.
So if pat murphy's upset aboutit, he wants to challenge like,
hey, hey call interference.
So if Pat Murphy's upset aboutit, he wants to challenge like,
hey, hey call New York.
I mean, it's New York, right, yankees, new York, we probably
would have got the same callanyways, but it's a play that

(18:49):
should be able to be challenged.
And then if you lose yourchallenge, you lose your
challenge.
But as many interferences thatwe love to call.
Now, right, you can't get inthe way of a guy throwing a
baseball anymore.
Right, you used to be able to,you used to be able to plow them
over, now you can't.
So why can't it be reviewed?
Why can't we go over thatanymore?
I don't get it.
I don't get it Because this wasblatantly obvious.

(19:11):
This was so blatantly obviousit's not even funny.
It's literally scouring theinternet.
Right now, nobody cares aboutthe Brewers, right, nobody does.
Outside of Wisconsin, nobodyreally cares.
Cub fans, they hate us, that'sabout it.
Outside of that, nobody cares.
But this video is scouring theIndians, yeah, because it's the
Yankees too, but I mean to seeall the comments on it all over

(19:33):
Twitter, all over Instagram andFacebook and everything like
that, and not just Brewer fans, red Sox fans.
I mean I'm just going to keepnaming off Yankee haters out
there, a lot of Yankee haters, let's go with that.
But I mean I'm talking aboutall fan bases out there.
Excuse me, there Are like what, why?

(19:53):
What is going on Like that?
Because I sent it.
I know I was talking to one ofmy buddies.
He's from down, I believe he'sfrom down in georgia there, but
he's a big boston red sox fan, right, and you know we have
baseball, we do a baseballpodcast together and everything
like that, and we I sent a videoin the group chat with him and

(20:15):
he goes oh, you know, that wasdefinitely called interference,
right, and I'm like no, he'slike what do you mean?
I said no, it wasn't.
Wow, that no way.
I was like yeah, I mean I waslike I'm telling you right now,
that was not called interference.
They had a big meeting.
They said it was his natural wayto slide me personally, if I
was willie adames, how to putone in his elbow?

(20:36):
That's me, that's just me,because Willie threw it and he
hit him in the hand.
Now they used to teach you backin the day to drop the arm
angle and put one right in hisdome piece, but probably would
have been more blatantly obviousbecause he was sliding a little
bit to the right there, so thatwould have been a little
obvious.
Put one right in his elbow.
I don't care, I really you wantto stick your hand up there.
He had the big oven mitt on.

(20:56):
I mean, he's not going to feelit, but you drop the elbow a
little bit and you put one rightinto his arm, he's going to
feel that one.
He's going to feel it, he will, and it might not hurt that bad,
but he's going to feel it.
And then maybe he gets a littlebit hot, then Maybe he gets a
little bit excited.
I don't know.
I don't know.
But that play in the sixth there, because that was a double play

(21:18):
, that was a double playopportunity that would have, I
mean, at that point, four tofour, there's a good chance the
Brewers get out of that inningand they don't, and they don't,
and it leads to the disasterafter.
So to Yankee fans, to AaronJudge fans I still hate the guy

(21:39):
Now even more.
He's like a Manny Machado to menow.
He's like a Manny Machadotrying to break Jesus Aguilar's
ankle there.
He's like in the same boat forme right now.
I mean just a ridiculous playthere at second base.
In that one Brewers, like I said, lost that game 15-5.
I'm not going to say that thatwould have changed the whole
scope of the game.
The, like I said, lost thatgame 15-5.
I'm not going to say that thatwould have changed the whole

(21:59):
scope of the game.
The Brewers might have stilllost, but that call was
ridiculous.
That call.
What does it do now that thecrew chief came out and he said,
yeah, we missed that call, I'msorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry,
shove it, just shove it, don'teven want to hear it.

(22:21):
The sorry crap.
It only makes it so far becauseguess what?
It's not like we can just say,oh, yeah, we'll go back and
we'll change what happened andthen we can change that inning.
Okay, like it does nothing, thank you, sorry.
Thank you, thank you for beingsorry that you suck, that you
sucked at your job that youcouldn't blatantly see the
second base umpire, the firstbase umpire, the third base
umpire, the home plate umpirecould not see Aaron Jones stick

(22:44):
his hand straight up in the air.
I am sorry that you guys suckat your jobs.
I am sorry.
That's what I'm sorry for.
The MLB should be sorry.
The MLB should go back in thereand they should say Yankees
lose.
That's what they should do.
Make me feel better.
I'm just kidding.
They ain't going to do that,but I don't know.
That was bad.

(23:04):
That was bad, that is.
I mean you know there's beensome bad calls throughout
history.
What's that?
I can't remember off the top ofmy head.
The Tigers pitcher who lost theperfect game or no hitter or
whatever, because of the play atfirst and then, yeah, they knew
he was out but they called themsafe and everything like that.
That play was a guy, it goes.
I can't remember now, can'tremember off the top of my head,

(23:26):
but I mean there's been a lotof plays throughout history that
have been terrible calls, terrible, terrible umpiring, and
this was one of them.
And why we can't instant replayand use instant replay on it.
I don't know why we can't.
I don't know.
It is the stupidest thing I'veheard, because that's what I

(23:46):
thought right away.
I was like go to the booth.
Go to the booth and then I waslike, thinking about it.
I was like I'm pretty sure youcan't.
And then I looked it up and Iwas like you can't, why?
That's what I want to know iswhy.
Why this should be a primeexample and a prime reason why
it should be allowed this righthere.
The Brewers should send thisvideo to the MLB and say, hey,

(24:08):
maybe we should be able toreview crap like this because
you guys screwed up.
That is what should happen.
So I mean Brewers, they lose theweekend series.
They made history though.
First, uh, first time in a longtime they've given up uh 30, 30
runs in two days.
So, uh, that that was cool.
I guess.
I mean only second time inhistory.
I thought I saw something likethat, some crazy stats.

(24:29):
So, uh, that's, I meansomething right, something
historic to come out of theweekend there.
So exciting stuff there, Iguess, if you want to look for
history book stuff over theweekend there.
So the Brewers dropped theweekend series to the Yankees.
That'll lead them into a weekstart series here on Monday.
Start for this one here.
They're going to have threegames set, with Tampa Bay Rays

(24:50):
Little AL East action cominginto American family field.
So the Rays come to town here.
640 start tonight here.
That'll be on bally sports,wisconsin.
That'll be on wtm j620, thebrewers radio network, wherever
you get the brewers there, uh,we'll see peep, uh, pie up for
the rays taking on bryce wilson, for the brewers wilson coming

(25:10):
in 2 and 0, 3.50 era.
Uh, I mean looking at thematchups there, the Rays have
seen Wilson a little bit Goodrum, he's got two RBIs and two
at-bats against him there, a 500average.
Yandy Diaz in one at-bat he'sgot 1,000 against him.
Outside of that, no success forthis Rays team against Bryce
Wilson.
So good stuff therematchup-wise.

(25:31):
Going up against Puyop for theBrewers, adamas has seen him
three times there, two rbis anda home run there, bent 333 and
gary sanchez and one at bat.
He's got a home run against himthere.
So I mean relatively unfamiliarmatchups.
In this one the brewer I meanyou're talking about the the
rays have seen bryce, but onlyseen him for a little like uh,

(25:53):
short periods out of the bullpenthere.
So hopefully, hopefully, thebrewers get off the schneid here
in game one against the racehere, bounce back and get a win
and hopefully, hopefully thebrewers get some good news of
christian yellow chair prettysoon, because now I mean he's
supposed to be able to come offthe il but we haven't heard any
good news coming out of it.

(26:14):
I saw he was throwing out inthe field but man, oh man, oh
man, you just can't get this guyback from injury here, the back
injury, and I seen a lot ofpeople talking about.
Well, maybe we should just havehim play first base and, you
know, take time off with Hoskinsthere, first base and then just
hit, and it's like that's notgoing to fix it.
You know it's a back problem.
You're not going to fix it.
He's an outfielder.

(26:34):
You know you're not hurtingyour back in the outfield
running after a fly ball, you'rehurting your back swinging a
baseball bat.
I mean you're putting torque onyour back when you swing.
So putting him at first baseisn't going to be the ultimate
solution to the problem.
It'll be an ultimate solutionto the problem with too many
outfielders, right, but it's notthe solution to fixing the back
problem.
The back problem would besaying let's make him an

(26:56):
all-time defender and no longerlet him hit.
That would fix the back problem, but then you'd lose his bat,
right?
So I mean I was just like.
No.
No, the back problems for Jelicwill always stem and they will
stem simply because of thetorque that he gets put on when
he swings the baseball bat.
That's plain and simple.
Now maybe you know he makes asliding play in the outfield

(27:18):
that runs into the wall.
That might upset his back alittle bit.
But I mean you're talking aboutyou're running after a baseball
.
You're running, that's not.
That's not as much torque onyour back.
The torque on your back isswinging a baseball bat.
So I mean, hopefully when hecomes back we get the same
Christian Yelich.
Because my worry is is that now, with the back issues, if he
comes back, will we get theChristian Yellich that we got to

(27:40):
start the year, or is it goingto be kind of a limited one,
simply because the back can onlydo so much?
The back can only take so muchwhile swinging?
I don't know.
I am hoping for the best out ofthat entire situation there.
But with that, let's get out ofthe brewers here.
Let's get out of the brewers.
We've talked's get out of thebrewers.
We've talked enough about thebrewers today I got to get to
some sponsors of the show herefirst, and then let's wrap it up

But with that we got to get tothe Bucs.

(30:07):
Bucs it was a rough weekend.
It was a rough weekend for theBucs.
You look at the Friday nightgame there for the Bucs and a
121-118 finish there in overtime.

(30:28):
Damian Lillard gets hurt earlyin this.
One remains in the game, playsa majority of the game there but
very limited there late in thisballgame.
Middleton I mean he playedfantastic 42 points for
Middleton in this game here hewas 16 for 29 from the floor, 4
for 9 from downtown, 6 for 6from the free throw line, 10
rebounds in this game, 5 assists.

(30:48):
I mean he played, he wasdynamite.
He was dynamite down thestretch.
He was dynamite in overtime.
He was it in overtime.
That's all the Buc bucks hadfor scoring in overtime was was
chris middleton.
So I mean it was chrismiddleton against pacers late in
this one and chris did justabout everything he could to
keep the bucks in this game.
Bucks just couldn't get a stop.
They could not get the stop now,if it's just me.

(31:10):
But man, oh man.
The nba needs to learn how tocall something.
I mean, if adam silver wants amore competitive league, fix
your refs, man.
Fix the rules in the NBA.
How can Tyrese Halliburton pickthe ball up, walk three steps
across the half court and thentake off.
That's what I want to know.
Call basketball fouls and thenyou'll get a more competitive

(31:32):
league.
You'll get people to watch it.
I can name off the top of myhead.
I can name 10 people that Iknow that don't watch the NBA,
simply because of the rules, simply because of the fouls that
don't get called or that getcalled now.
Excuse me there I mean it'sjust ridiculous, just ridiculous
.
Even when I was watching thegame, I'm like man, oh man,

(31:52):
that's some tic-tac crap.
Just let it go, Just let theseguys play.
I mean, you want a competitiveleague, let these guys play.
Don't call the crap.
What are they going to do?
Is one of these NBA superstars, lebron James, going to cry in
your face?
So what?
Tee him up.
I don't care.
Nobody would care If youstarted calling travels, if you

(32:13):
started calling three seconds,if you started calling games how
they should be called, the NBAfans would not care, not a bit.
They might actually like it.
I'll be honest with you.
They might actually like it.
But this crap show ain't doingit.
But you know what?
We live with it.
We live with it because that'sthe day and age we live in.
So you look at this game hereMiddleton, he played solid.

(32:36):
Bobby Portis 17 points a littlebit down in this game, 7 for 15
from the floor.
He did have 18 big rebounds inthis game though 1 for 3 from
downtown there, 2 for 2 from theline.
So not a bad day from BobbyPortis.
Brooke Lopez 14 points, 7 for12 from the floor in this one.
4 rebounds Now I really did.
I was having a pretty goodconversation.
I rebounds now I really did.

(32:57):
I was.
I was having a pretty goodconversation.
Uh, I can't remember what washappening with about brooke
lopez and this bucks team and hewas talking about how brooks so
slow and I was like, yeah, Isaid he's 100, very, I mean,
he's getting older, he's gettingslow, like he can't get up and
down the court very fast and hegoes.
That is probably why he doesnot rebound.
Because you look at him.
If you, if, if you said brookelopez Lopez there in there to
rebound against the Pacers, youwould not have him back down by

(33:20):
the time the Pacers had the balldown there, he would not even
be close.
He has to bail out earlybecause otherwise he will not
get back in time, he will be outof the play and the Pacers will
be scoring the basketball underthe rim.
So I mean, I, I completely agreewith everybody who says that
this guy needs to learn how torebound the basketball 100%.
I, what are you going to do?

(33:44):
I mean, even on the defensiveend, he is slow getting in there
.
He is slow getting in there.
When he is slow getting inthere, it ain't, it ain't going
to help you.
I'll be honest with you.
So I mean, you're just talkingabout a Brooke Lopez who is, I
mean, just not capable ofgetting speedy, getting into the
lane fast and being able torebound at a high intensity

(34:06):
anymore, unless if he startsunder there, which is where we
don't have, brooke Lopez veryoften is in the paint getting
buckets down there.
So that, to me, is a big reasonwhy we might not be seeing a
lot of rebounds out of BrookeLopez.
Now, is that a good excuse?
No, not at all.
I mean, he's still a 7-footererand I still need rebounds out
of the guy.
But at the same time, I mean, what are you gonna do?

(34:30):
What are you gonna do?
What are you gonna do?
So, bev, he goes for 11.
Dame, like I said, injured inthis game but still added 28, 12
for 12 from the free throw line.
He was 4 for 12 from downtownand 6 for 20 from the floor.
Looking at the bench for thebucks in this one, this is where
it got really timid and not alot.
You had four points from AJGreen.
Jackson added two.
Outside of that, you hadBeasley with nothing in this

(34:52):
game here, connington withnothing and Jay Crowder with
nothing in this game here A lot.
I mean.
We saw the starters for amajority of this game.
Now, should that have been?
I don't know.
I saw a stat.
I saw a stat from this game.
The Pacers players shot one of14 when defended by Andre
Jackson Jr or AJ Green in gamethree.

(35:13):
That included zero for 10against Jackson.
I don't know what more you needto make their rotation spots
permanent.
That was a tweet I saw fromDalton Sell, sell underscore
Dalton there on Twitter.
I saw that one and that I meanhe was 100% correct in his
statement there about this Bucsteam.
This Bucs team when Jackson Jr.

(35:33):
We saw it in game four whenJackson Jr and Green were out
there.
They were playing pretty soliddefense.
Now I'm gonna talk about it herein game four, but holy crapola.
I mean the amount of movingscreens that you see in a ball
game are ridiculous.
I, andrew Jackson, couldn't getthrough the screen because I
mean it's one thing to try to gothrough the brick wall that is
Miles Turner but when the brickwall is moving with you, it's
hard to get through, it's hardto get around.
It really is, it's hard to getaround it.

(35:55):
We saw it in that game.
I mean I said it, I saw it inreal time and I was like that
was a moving screen and then allof a sudden they replayed it
and I'm like replaying it inslow motion makes it look worse.
I mean, come on like this is bad, but I mean so you look at the
pacers in that game three andturner he had 29.
They cannot answer for turnerand that simply is like I was

(36:16):
talking about brooke lopezstanding in the lane, standing
in the lane against turner, fourfor 10 from downtown there and
10 for 21 from the floor in thisgame here.
But we're going to talk aboutin game four here.
Man, oh man, brooks got to getout on him or we got to put
somebody else on him and itdidn't help not having some of
your key players, but at thesame time it's just like, oh,

(36:38):
you're just leaving guys open inthis game.
Here I mean nem hard, he had 16, 18 for halbert and 17 for
siakam and and Neesmith had 13.
15 points for Obi Toppin off thebench there, and then McConnell
added 7, and Shepard added 6 inthis game here for the Pacers
Pacers in Game 3, they shot itat 26% from downtown compared to
the Bucs 32.
They did shoot 42% from thefield in this one compared to

(37:06):
the Bucs 46%.
But a couple more shots put upby this Pacers team in this one
that really led to it, becausethe Bucs I mean they shot three
more free throws than the Pacersdid and they hit 96%, 26 for 27
in this game here.
Looking at the rebounds forthem, 43 for the Bucs in this
game compared to 50 for thePacers.
So the Pacers got off the glassa little bit more 32 assists

(37:27):
for the Pacers in that game.
There they moved the basketballand they move it fast and
that's what gets the Bucs out ofsorts here.
The Bucs, they try to play thatkind of pace, but they cannot
play that uptick pace that thePacers I mean little.
Did you know the name.
The Pacers really is what theyare.
They play at a certain pace andif you try to play at that pace
with them, unless you can thisBucs team they can't.

(37:50):
And we're seeing it right now.
That leads us into the Game 4action and that was a 126-113
finish.
There Pacers beat the Bucs inthat game, and well I mean the
Pacers.
They controlled this game fromthe third quarter on.
The third quarter was big.
They had a 10-point cushion inthat third quarter.
There it was more, but in thequarter they were 31-21 compared

(38:13):
to the Bucs there.
And then in that fourth quarter, there they actually both
scored 28 points.
But that third quarter was thebig difference.
The Bucs did put on a littlebit of a run late in that one,
but they weren't able to closethe gap.
This late in that one, but theyweren't able to close the gap.
This game the tone was set whenNemhard.
He kind of baited Bobby Portisinto Bobby getting thrown out of

(38:37):
this game.
Now to me.
You know they call this firsttechnical foul on Bobby Portis
for putting his hands to thechest of Nemhard.
I saw Nemhard's hands go to thechest of Bobby too.
So just saying, just sayingmaybe you could have thrown a
double tech there Now, did Bobbyhave to go as far as to
basically try to roundhouse him?
Probably not, probably not.
But I'm looking at the firstpart of that scenario and I'm
saying, okay, there should havebeen at least a double tech.

(39:00):
You might have still thrown.
Well, they would have thrownBobby out either way, but I
still saw the attack on Neb Hart.
Does it make it better?
Does it make the situationbetter?
No, bobby Portis has got to besmarter.
Excuse me, you're alreadywithout Dame, you're already
without Giannis in this game.

(39:20):
You've got to be smarter.
You have to be smarter.
But I mean, man, this Pacersteam, they have a way to get
underneath your skin.
And the worst part is in thenew day of the nba, you can talk
a lot of crap, but you don'thave the fists.
Come back at you right back inthe day and this is before my
time but watching a lot ofvideos, you talk a lot of smack.
You got ran over.
That's just how it was.

(39:40):
That's just I mean just aplainly obvious the way that it
was.
You got some cheap shots inthere.
Not today, not today.
A whole lot of smack talk andnot a lot of action anymore.
Not a lot of action.
That's the worst part.
You just want to just.
You know, deb, hard he gets inbobby's face.
Bobby pushes him, bobby throwsa fake haymaker.

(40:00):
Adam doesn't really connect.
You got him slapped, him in theback of that.
Whatever.
Brush it off and keep playing, right?
No, I'm just kidding.
I mean, bobby has to be smarterthan what he was.
Bobby has to be smarter thanwhat he was in that situation.
Now is Nembhard squeaky cleanin that situation.
Not a chance, not a chance.
But Bobby has to be smarter.
He does, and I know he's aneasily easy-triggered guy, but

(40:25):
he's got to be smarter in thatsituation.
So Bobby gets thrown.
Seven minutes of action in thisone four points.
Middleton 25 points in this game0 for 4 from downtown.
He's 9 for 22 from the floor.
7 for 8 from the free throwline.
Brooke Lopez 0 for 4 from thefree throw line, 27 points.
He was 3 for 5 from downtown,12 for 18 from the floor.
This game we saw Brooke Lopezgoing going to the paint and it

(40:52):
was masterful.
It was masterful watchingbrooke lopez in the paint.
In this one he was.
It was like brooklyn nuts.
We finally got a big guy.
Brooke lopez again, and I lovethat.
Now was it?
You know threes are worth morethan two rights.
You still got to slow down thepacers at the other end, but it
was a first time in a while I'veseen the Bucs use Brooke Lopez
in that traditional sense of himplaying in that area.
So Brooke Lopez goes for 27, 9for Beverly, 20 points for

(41:15):
Beasley.
Beasley had a pretty good game 8for 12 from the floor, 4 for 7
from downtown in this game here, and he played solid for the
Bucs all the way around.
Gallinari had 6 off the benchfor the Bucs there, three for
five from the floor.
Crowder had two, two forBishkamp in this one, four for
Connington.
And then we saw six for AJGreen and six for or no eight

(41:40):
for AJ Green and six for AndreJackson Jr in this one.
I thought Ajax played reallywell.
I thought he was the spark plugfor the Bucs when they needed a
spark plug at times and I washonestly saddened when they
pulled him out of the game.
I was like keep this guy outthere.
He's the only thing keeping usalive right now.
So Bucs I mean they didn't shootthe basketball that bad 46 for

(42:01):
90 from the floor in this gamehere 51%, 51% from the floor in
this game here 51, 51 from thefloor in this game here, 12 for
33 from three, though that wasgoing to be the killer.
Because you look at the flipside pacers they shoot 46 for 89
in this game here, 51.
Just like the bucks, justeerily similar to the bucks in

(42:23):
this game here.
One less shot.
But you look at the three-pointline, 22 for 43 from downtown
and that was seven of themcoming from Miles Turner Seven.
And that stems my diss to BrookeLopez.
You have Miles Turner out there, you know he can shoot, and yet

(42:44):
Brooke stands in the lane, brooke stands in the laneoke,
stands in the lane and we letthis guy in.
Miles turner knocked down.
Seven big ones in this gamehere and a lot of momentum
killers for the bucks.
The bucks just go and swing thedefense fast enough.
Brooke didn't swing out fastenough.
Seven big ones for miles turnerin this game.
He had 29 points 24 for HalBurton in this game here, 13

(43:08):
points for Siakam, 13 forNeesmith and then you also saw
15 from Nembhard in this gamehere, 13 for Obi Toppin off the
bench there for the PacersPacers, I mean in this game here
.
They had 38 rebounds comparedto the Bucs 42.
So Bucs out-rebounded thePacers, they got in the glass a
little bit more and sevenoffensive rebounds for the Bucs.
But you look at this, 33assists again for the Pacers in

(43:29):
this game here, and that wasyour big kicker.
That was your big kicker inthis game here.
I mean turnovers nine for theBucs, seven for the Pacers.
They controlled the basketballin this game here.
But pace of play the Bucs had toplay fast, simply because they
were missing so many pieces.
They had to try to get openshots and well, they played
right into the Pacers handsbecause then the Pacers were

(43:50):
able to get out and run, theywere able able to make things
happen in transition and thatwas a big killer for the Bucs.
It's not always, you know, youget your fast break points.
In this one and the Pacers hadseven.
But you know, when I look atfast break points, yeah, it's
transition buckets, but it'salso, you know, the fast break
points.
For me they also are.
You know, you get your ball outfast and you're able to get up

(44:12):
the court swinging around alittle bit quick and get an open
shot off early in the shotclock.
That's a big thing for me thatI count towards transition and
the pacers did a lot in thisgame here to get off and get to
some open shots, some big openshots for them in this game.
So, bucks, that's gonna set upa massive and a do or die game

(44:35):
five for the bucks that'll becoming up here.
I believe that'll be tuesday.
If I'm not mistaken, that'll bea tuesday game for that one.
Yep, tuesday night.
That'll be in milwaukee.
Time has not been decided forthat one.
Yep, tuesday night That'll bein Milwaukee.
Time has not been decided forthat game here.
I would imagine probably a 6.
I would imagine somewhere inthe 6 o'clock range for that one

(44:55):
.
But Bucs Pacers, we're hoping tosee Dame back.
We're hoping to get Giannisback.
They need him.
They're going to need all handson deck because this Pacers
team's coming back to Milwaukee.
They're hot to need all handson deck because this Pacers team
is coming back to Milwaukee.
They're hot and well, the Bucsneed everybody.
They need everybody and theyneed to figure something out
here.
So we're going to get more intothe Bucs tomorrow we got to
preview this Bucs game.

(45:15):
We're going to get more intothe NBA draft or not the NBA
draft Sorry about that.
The NFL draft we got to betalking about the Packers draft
picks.
We're going to look at them alittle bit there and then we're
also going to jump back into theBrewers a little bit.
Hopefully the Brewers pick up awin tonight.
So with that, that's about allI got for today.
