Melancholy is a kind of longing, a bittersweet sensation swept up in sadness, beauty, and an obscure cluster of sensations. We don't necessarily welcome it and thus it arrives uninvited. But there is something so seductive about the sensation of melancholy. And there is much to gain. Melancholy creates room for us to simmer, explore, and self reflect. Because it emerges from nowhere, melancholy has the power to strip away any semblance of expectation. I find a lot of discovery in interconnectedness, a nondual state of being, and a deep relationship to nature. While you will hear my own anecdotes and experiences, I'll also share knowledge from Virginia Woolf, Frederic Malle, and Thich Nhat Hanh.
