(01:40):
I've been giving you my takeaways from the XFL. Week
two is no different, and I have a very interesting
way to look at week three. So we're gonna continue
that conversation, all right. We're gonna continue to talk about
the quarterback Merry go Round that goes around and round
and around with a lot of rumors, a lot of buzz.
The Saints may have made the first Domino fall, all
all on an Instagram post from Drew Brees, so we'll

(02:03):
talk about that, all right. We got a big fight
night in Vegas this week. Alright, So what happens in
Vegas stays in Vegas except for a couple of things.
Insert joke there. I'll give you an interesting prop bet
that I saw here at the Fan Duel Sports Book.
We'll talk about that a little bit later on as well.
We got a pole question up, and that pole question is,

(02:24):
which is really the biggest scandal in Major League Baseball?
We have, you know, we have steroids, we have the
astro sign stealing. I bring it up because we have
Pete Rose and Gambling who's still not in the Hall
of Fame yet he's saying he should be in if
these astros cheaters do not get really punished the players
or even going back to Scholas Joe. Alright, so hit
me up at Spitting Speeds on Twitter. Let me know

(02:46):
you know what you think is the greatest scandal in
MLB history, and we are going to keep it going
on Major League Baseball and that scandal. The fans are responding,
players are responding, and the status over beach response is
gonna be incredible. Check it out as we put the
fun in functional sports content. It's your boy Speeds, the
spitting Statistician and the fantasy Freestyle. Come on back on

(03:09):
the other side of the break. But for now we
give it to my man Fasano down in the pit
for the news update. Sports Gride news Update. I am
Alex Passano with your sports Grid news update here on

(03:29):
the fantasy freestyle in the NFL. We could be expecting
a playoff format change as it is currently constituted. For
next season. The NFL owners are pushing for a playoff
field to be expanded to seven teams from each conference,
while the regular season will be increased to seven team games,
as well as the preseason being shortened to three games.

(03:51):
As part of the proposed player playoff format, only one
team from each conference will receive a first round by
as opposed to the two that currently do. This would
also be a revised postseason schedule that includes six games
on wild Card weekend, three on Saturday, and three on Sunday.
Also in the NFL, NFL offensive tackle Gregg Robinson was

(04:12):
being held Wednesday in a Texas jail on a pending
drug distribution charge. Robinson, a former Auburn standout who played
for the Cleveland Browns last season, was booked by the
d e A on Tuesday after federal agents said they
found a hundred and fifty seven pounds of marijuana in
a rented vehicle in which he and two other people
were riding. If convicted, Robinson could face up to twenty

(04:34):
years in a federal prison and in the NBA Minnesota
timber Wolves center Carl Anthony Towns will remain sidelined indefinitely
as he continues to recover from a left wrist injury.
Towns missed Minnesota's final game before the All Star Break
after an m r I revealed the injury. Coach Ryan
Saunders told reporters that the team held Towns out of
its first practice after the All Star break on Wednesday.

(04:55):
Saunders said Towns will miss upcoming games, but did not
specify how many. You got a full slate of NHL
college hoops and NBA makes its return after the All
Star breaks. Some games you may want to consider. The
Brooklyn Nets visit the Philadelphia seventy sixers. Sixers are your
eight and a half point favorites. The total is to
fifteen and a half. Also, the Dallas Mavericks visit the
Orlando Magic that's part of tomorrow's slate. The Mavericks are

(05:16):
two and a half point favorites. All right, I'm Alex Possano.
This has been your sports grid news update. Now back
to the spitting statistician, Dame Martinez on Fantasy Freestyle. Thanks
Altano down there in the pit of misery, Dilly dilly
to the crew, I don't get to see you, Alex.
I gotta text you later on, Man, I got an

(05:38):
opportunity for you. We gotta talk about that, you know.
I also want to ask you a couple of things
about that update. One of the things you mentioned there
for Asano was, you know, Greg Robinson, what a hundred
and fifty seven pounds of marijuana? We were discussing this
on the early line, me and Jared Smith. You know.
The the charge was, you know, possession within tend to sell.

(06:00):
Can I ask you something, If you have a hundred
and fifty seven pounds of marijuana, can you imagine not
having an intent to sell it? I mean, Dane, I
personally myself, we a hundred and fifty pounds, So I
don't know if I could out if I can sell, Like,
what are you gonna do? That's crazy? And also that's
what I'm saying, what are you gonna do? Of course
there's an intent to sell? Yeah, it's crazy. Also I

(06:21):
think I saw he would only make about three d
K from it. He made like six million over his
years in the NFL. It's crazy. It's a good point.
That is a good point. It's like, you know, uh,
there's levels to this. He's already made that money. Why
are you going through the risk reward proposition? We know
about that here in Sports Investing on the Sports Grid Network.

(06:41):
You know, we were talking about the NFL Alex all right,
And there have been a couple of pieces of news
since the last convening of the stats over beat Cipher
here on the fantasy Freestyle as it relates to that
quarterback market. Right, I've gotten buzz about Joe Flacco. This
is a name we haven't even spoken about yet, Alex, right,
like he's supposed to be coming back, getting hell the right,
but he's got he's got a twenty three and a

(07:03):
half million dollar cap hit if he would stay um
with the Denver Broncos, I think he's gonna wind up
being a cut candidate. Cut candidates are things we're gonna
have to start to pay attention to as we get
into this stage of the NFL calendar. The other thing
we heard as by the way, the first race at
Gulf Stream Park is popping off here at the Meadowlands.
But in any of that, I digress. What we heard though,

(07:26):
Alex that I think really does add to our quarterback
carousel is, uh, Drew Brees is coming back, all right,
Drew Brees is coming back for the New Orleans Saints
what will probably be his last year, and then the
dominoes fall. Right now, we're starting to hear Teddy Bridgewater
is a gunner. I don't know where did we have

(07:47):
Teddy Bridgewater, Alex on our little will he stay or
will he go? And will he start or will he
back up? I think we had him coming back, but
as the backup is that where we had Teddy bridge water,
I mean, as of right now we were So do
we have him leaving and becoming a starter? I think
we have it. We had him staying and being the
backup quarterback under Drew Brees. That ain't gonna happen. That

(08:12):
ain't gonna hat change that up exactly. That's what I'm saying.
This is a changing picture that we have to continue
to update throughout the off season. Right now, Teddy Bridgewater
is not gonna be a QB two. He's gonna get
starter level money and he's gonna go somewhere else. And
I think Taysom Hill becomes very very interesting now, Alex,
because here's the thing. Tasom Hill a punt block as

(08:35):
they come down the stretch, We got a close one here.
The one horse on the inside the eight is going
to be around. I think the one horse. I think
the one horse is gonna edge him out there on
the rail in the first race at Gulf Stream. But anyway,
I digress. We're talking about Taysom Hill here. And the
thing is, if he's actually the backup quarterback, which he
will be in New Orleans, he can't be on the

(08:57):
punt block team. He can't be doing ends around, he
can't be the wide receiver. And this is something which
is now getting solidified. More news that happened in my opinion,
this um this week as it relates to the quarterback position.
Big Ben, your boy Alex, He's gonna have a very
big doctor's appointment tomorrow, all right, So talk to me

(09:19):
here about this right the elbow and Will what are
we what are we getting? What kind of news are
you think we're gonna get? And what does that mean
for this overall picture that we have been talking about
in the off season. Well, I can tell you right now,
the team themselves are behind him, The coaching staff are
behind him. Obviously, I'm still waiting for this doctor's right um. Also,

(09:41):
fun fact, he will not be shaving his beard until
he can actually throw an object. Uh, So we will
be seeing the grizzly bend. God. I know it's crazy,
looks like a mountain man um, But honestly, once we
get that okay from the doctors, I I expect Ben
to be another you know, top quarterback. He really wants
to play. He's told the team he's ready to play.
And once he it's that approval to start throwing and

(10:01):
start moving his arm, I'm ready for the same old
Ben to go one last arrah here and solidify his legacy. Alright,
we'll see in the same draft class Eli has decided
to walk away, Philip Rivers. Will see if he you know,
continues to play at high level. We don't know where
he will be. There's obviously odds out for that. We've
talked about places like Indie and Tampa Bay. So we'll

(10:23):
see if Ben can you know, outshine his draft class counterparts.
The other thing that I think is interesting as we
talk about the Pittsburgh quarterback situation, Mason Rudolph is now
considering legal actions against Myles Garrett. Okay, listen to some
of the legal ease of his lawyer. Uh, Timothy Younger
in his statement over the weekend. Okay, he is now

(10:44):
exposed to legal liability because Mr Garrett maliciously used his
false allegation to coax sympathy, hoping to be excused for
what it's clearly an inexcusable behavior. That's legal. Talk to me,
I wonder if Mason Rudolph is actually going to take
legal action against Miles Garrett. What say you, Alex, do

(11:05):
you think he's gonna actually push push this? I mean personally,
I mean, you saw all the reports. Nobody is backing
up Miles. Nobody seems to have his back. And if
I would in Mason's position, I would I would be
upset obviously if I was a Mason. But just let
it go. You know you're in the right because you
didn't say it. You know there's not gonna any repercussions.
Just just just get it past it. Obviously people are

(11:25):
are behind you and not Garrett. I think you just
gotta roll with it. Yeah, this is a dicey situation,
but he's standing that this is what was said. I
don't know, and there's certainly no audio. You're right, so
maybe there is legal action. Listen, we're gonna take a
quick break. On the other side of the break, talk
about legal action that brings us to the astros and

(11:45):
the cheating schedule. Oh boy, the plot thickens, and I'll
tell you what the status with Beatsipon is gonna do
about it. Come on, I want to light the lamp
on Draft Kings and FanDuel this NHL DFS season. Then
joined Daily roado dot com and learn from the best

(12:39):
four hundred and thirty seven here on Sports Grade. Here
from the FanDuel Sports Book. I'm usually at Studio thirty four,
but we got the book today. We got you know,
the first race at Aqueduct popping off. Oh, we got
the third race over in monte Cello about to pop.
So it's very exciting over here with stats over beat
Cipher in the chat room as usual, I want to
keep talking about this ENFL stuff. Then we'll talk about

(13:01):
the Astros, and then you know, have a little bit
of fun and functional sports content later on. Alex. Another
thing that's coming out you alluded to it in the
UM the news update is the idea that they may
expand the playoffs UM in the NFL as as soon
as this year. Okay, we're hearing that there may be
a seventh team in the playoffs UM, and only the

(13:21):
one seed would get a bye. I think that's very interesting. So,
for example, the Kansas City Chiefs would not have had
a bye in the new format as the two seed
in the a f C. You know, so these things
would in fact be changed. I'm hearing though, Alex, and
I don't know if you've heard this as well, that
it could be part of a larger picture here. Right.
Eventually they're gonna add a seventeenth game and change like

(13:42):
one of the preseason games into a seventeenth game. I'm
hearing that could extend the playoffs, and with a seventeenth game,
we also may get a second by in the regular season.
I don't know, Alex, if you're old enough to be
quite frank to remember back in the days when there
were two buys there were two by no, say sleep,
you don't remember that. Wow, So there used to be

(14:02):
two buys in the regular season. Okay, I can't tell
if you're joking with me or there used to be
two byes in the regular season. Is that when it changed?
That's when it changed, and you dually don't remember that.
You don't remember. Okay, we gotta look it up and
see when that changed last time around. But okay, so
here's the thing. And honestly, Alex, if you put in

(14:24):
a seventeenth game, you're also thinking about having um multiple
teams go to London, right, and that that changes the
schedule as well. You have to have more teams with
that by stretch it out. Imagine this, here's my platform,
and the stats would be the cipher has always known
about this. I want the Super Bowl to be the
day before President's Day. This way, it is a national
holiday in essent. You ain't gotta worry about going to

(14:45):
work the next day anyway. Okay. And so if you
actually do have the second by extend the playoffs, you
know I think we can get this done. What do
you think, Alex? This is a campaign ultimately to make
a super Bowl the national holiday? What say you? And
I know both of us would not be off that
president recapping the super Bowl. Oh, that's for sure, but
this is fair. Yeah, I'd be on that seven am.

(15:06):
I know it's okay, but it'd be nice to see
everybody else get off. But to that point, um, I
think also we'd see an increase in pay to for
that first round of the playoffs, right if if they would, uh,
the one team getting the biosibly be paid for that week.
So I'm sure the players are definitely all for this.
You know, it is only one game that's always concerned
of it's going to be too too much of a
toll on our bodies and this and that. But to them,

(15:27):
you tell them, oh, you're gonna get an extra by
a week, and you're gonna get paid in the playoffs
if you make it. I think I think we're leaning
towards something. Get another game check exactly all right, so
we will see and listen. I'm I also am intrigued
by what happens you know, in a sport like football,
who acts as poetic about the record books. Michael Thomas
sets a record, you know, uh, running four thousand yards

(15:48):
and stuff like that. What happens if you have an
extra game in the season. You know, it's gonna become
very easy to run for a thousand yards. You know,
the sack record could be in jeopardy. These are things
that are interesting to me. And then also when you
think about the schedule. You know, Alex, the schedule is
a formulaic thing, right. You know, you played the third
place team and the other conference you played this exactly.
So if you have a seventeenth game, I wonder how

(16:09):
you maintain competitive balance with that. It'll have to be
some kind of algorithm or formula, and so we shall see.
I do think it's interesting, But I want to get
back to that quarterback conversation we've been having, Alex. And
here's the thing. Okay, we said last week there's also
gonna be teams that think about getting their answer in
the draft. Right. We mentioned the names, of course, you

(16:29):
know them, Joe Burrow, justin Herbert to a tag of
aaloa and there are now odds out. We've talked about
the odds for Tom Brady. We talked about the odds
for Philip rivers. There are now odds for where will
toa wind up? And I think this is a very
interesting case. And you put them up there right now.
You see their Caesars came out with them. Okay, The

(16:50):
Dolphins are in fact the favorites all right at minus
one ten And that makes sense, right the idea. The
Dolphins have the fifth pick, okay, And I do think
that if Towah is there at five for the Miami Dolphins,
he will be there. You can take that off the
screen for now. I'm gonna ask you to put it
back up in a little bit. Okay, But yes, so
the Dolphins are the favorite at number five. But Alex,

(17:11):
here's the deal. You know this, just like me. Every
year there are teams that trade up in the draft
to try to get their guys. So the question for
me is really what teams are there that may not
have to spend too much draft capital to opt the
Miami Dolphins at five. That are part of our quarterback conversation,

(17:34):
and we can refer to our chart and our graft. Alex,
and to me, there are two answers staring us dead
in the face. All right, put up the odds again
for them. All right to me, Oh, this is our right, Okay,
either way it works. Either way it works. Check out.
In my opinion, there are two. The Chargers are one, right,
the charges on one at five to two. We've been

(17:56):
talking about the charges, Philip Rivers, moving on it. Our
chart dictates for us that we are going to have
a vacancy in Los Angeles as they moved to a
new building. Now I'm hearing Tarrod Taylor. They like him,
but there's no way they're gonna go into a new
building trying to sell seats, you know, with Tarrod Taylor
as their starting quarterback or at least not a promise

(18:17):
for the future. Maybe they go make a trade hop
Miami and wind up as a team in the three
or four spot. I think the Detroit Lions and the
Giants are live their trading partners. Maybe them. But here's
the other one. And we talked about this, and this
is why we did it in the way we did, Alex.
We wanted to see where the openings are. That's why
we played will they stay or will they go? Check out?

(18:39):
A team there that seven o one I believe on
that list, it's the Carolina Panthers. So my question for you,
what about the Carolina Panthers. You got a new head
coach in Matt Rule, you got the new passing coordinator,
offensive coordinator, and Joe Brady too was a fan of
that system when he was in Alabama. About the Carolina Panthers,

(19:01):
who also draft in the top ten, moving up to
hop Miami to go out and get their guy to ah,
you know, new coach, and then they could be tied
at the hip. I think the Chargers and the Panthers
are two interesting teams to look at that are not
just the chalk of the Miami Dolphins. What do you
think about to Alex to your point, uh, I got

(19:22):
two things on the Panthers, because the Panthers are my
team for this one. I think you nailed it perfectly.
They're only at seven, right, so it's not too much
of a jump for them, and it's still a valuable
enough pick to where people will be willing. That's what
I'm saying. Um, So there's there's one. But the second
thing to that point, to also has a history of injuries,
So did Cam Newton? Did they really want to go

(19:42):
through another quarterback? Being the franchise with the injury risk
that they're willing to take. Yeah, no, I hear you,
But what are the odds on that right? Like seven
oh one. I'd rather take a shot on that value
at seven oh one on the idea that they do
want to get their new face of the franchise, They
do want to get their new franchise quarterback with a
new regime in place, you know, as opposed to minus

(20:05):
one ten for Miami, you know what I mean. So
you're saying the odds outweigh the future potential essentially, I'm
just saying the value. I'm just saying the value is
there for the Panthers in this kind of bet, you know.
And that's the thing, like, you know, when it's so
open like this. You know, we said the same thing
with Philip Rivers bet last week. You know, I'm not
gonna go on a minus one ten on something crazy

(20:27):
like this. But I digress. One of the things we
haven't gotten into with this quarterback market yet is uh
one about some teams that maybe still be on the
fence about their quarterback. And I thought about it this
this week, Alex, because I saw the news, you know,
Joe Flacco popped up that he's back and healthy, still
wants to play, you know, And it made me think

(20:49):
about the Denver Broncos as a team. Yes, he is
absolutely elite. He bet on himself and it worked out. Um.
But when you think about the Denver Broncos, we didn't
have any Denver Broncos on our original like you know,
little access is there, right And because they've got Drew Lock,
I wonder does that really preclude them from being in

(21:11):
the market, whether it be for someone who could push
the kid or one of these kind of bridge quarterback ideas,
you know, Like what about Denver still as a destination
And let me give you out to other places, all
right that I think could be a destination for some
of these quarterbacks we have on the Merry Go Round.
And then I'll get your take. Denver could be one

(21:33):
right for me. Another could be the Chicago Bears, all right.
I've told you for a long time people, I do
not believe in Mitchell Drabinsky. I think if you get
it wrong when you draft the quarterback in the top ten,
you are setting your franchise back for years. And the
only problem here is that sometimes it takes teams too
too long to cut bait to realize Exhibit A, the

(21:54):
Jaguars and Blake Bortles. Okay, and I think that Mitchell
Robinsky is, you know, slanting into that territory the Chicago Bears.
We've heard him linked to Cam Newton potentially, and so
I think Chicago could still be a destination for some
of these quarterbacks. We said Denver could still be a
destination for some of these quarterbacks. And the last thing
I'll throw out is what about Jacksonville? What about Jacksonville?

(22:16):
You know they spent the money on fold but you
can get out of it. Contracts are written on toilet paper.
In the NFL mentioned who was something of a revelation
for about a month until he turned back into a pumpkin.
Are they solidified at their position? I was gonna throw
Pittsburgh into the mix, but I know, Alex, I don't
want to, you know, throw cold water on it because
I know you think the doctor checkup will go great

(22:37):
for Big Ben tomorrow. But talk to me, do you
think any of these guys we've talked about that will
be in the market A Teddy Bridgewater, for instance, who
is now on the Merry go round as well? What
about a place like Denver, like Chicago, like Jacksonville. Should
these be places we're looking as well? Absolutely? I think
you make great points in all of them. Um. I
think with Mitch too, they've given him his chance and

(22:57):
you know he kind of fell short. Um. The the
team I'm looking at though, and it's in between all
these teams looking at the draft picks in the draft
order too, it's the Las Vegas Raiders. It's the Las
Vegas Raiders. Man. I mean, Derek Carr has given I've
been getting. So that's another one. He's been getting way
too many chances. And I think time is up in
his case. Mitch. I think still has another year's open
to give him a chance, you know, maybe like Jacksonville,

(23:18):
give him another year. So minshu Mania, I think the
Raiders here is your Okays, your biggest open door opportunity.
That's interesting, right, And we're considering Tampa already as a
slightly ajar door because we don't know anything about Jamis
Jess yet. Bruce arians a certain posturing like he's gonna
explore the market, So we'll see about that. But you're right,

(23:40):
Vegas could be interesting, you know. Again, buzz there as
they move on Gruden likes pieces of clay to mold.
I wonder what he is going to think. They're all right,
check this out. Here's what we're gonna do. We we
have to talk about these Houston astros, and it just
keeps getting more and more drama. Alex, Okay, players are
come and now we'll talk about Bellinger, We'll talk about Correa,

(24:02):
we'll talk about Judge. But then I want to talk
about my new hero and what we are going to
do as the status over beat Cipher. We got a
lot of things to show you. Alex knows where I'm going.
We're even gonna tell my man Danny Auto about a
new scheme we're cooking up and get his reaction on
the other side of the break. It's the Fantasy Freestyle

(25:15):
here to Fantasy Freestyle Episode number four hundred and thirty seven,
fourty seventh convening of the Stats Overbeat Cipher. I'm with
Jared Man. Three games each day on wild Card weekend.
I think that's on and pop and I am all
for the expansion and more football. Speaking of more football,
we'll talk about the XFL a little bit later on.

(25:37):
In our last segment. I got an interesting play here
for Week three of the XFL. We'll get into that
a little bit later on. But we have to continue
to talk about the Astros and they're cheating scandal. All right,
Here's what I think needs to happen. Um, we need
to not only understand that the players are upset about
this and that they are talking smack two weeks other

(26:00):
Bellinger has come out, Judge has come out, Stanton Trout,
among others people in other sports. Lebron is talking about
how you know the team's got cheated out of this
that we've talked about this before, they are not going
to get ahead of this. Major League Baseball Manfred did
a horrible job this in the same week where he
called the World Series Trophy a piece of metal, all right,

(26:21):
which obviously has raised the ire of players. And I
believe first of all, that this is going to wear
on the Astros throughout the year. Every city they go into,
they're gonna have microphones put in front of their face.
Every stadium they go into, fans are going to give
them hatred and vitriol and vile. Okay, there's literally odds

(26:43):
about how many times will Houston astros batteries get hit
by pitches this year. They're only hanging that kind of
number if it's going to happen a bunch. And now
you know, Manfred comes out and says that if a
hit or if a pitcher hits the Astros, well they
might get suspended. Meanwhile, these Astros are still not getting suspended.
But what I think is gonna be very very interesting,

(27:04):
and what I want to talk about a little bit
here is what happens with the fans. Okay, um, it
already started, It already started. I don't know if you
saw this, Alex, but in spring training down there already
they're taking their first like batting practice live. You know,
alt gets in the cage and fans are literally banging

(27:27):
garbage cans behind them as a distraction. And I'm gonna
tell you right now, I think that's even amazing, Alex.
Play the video. We've got fans banging the damn trash
cans and back of Altuve as he's doing it when
he's running past them, being like you're a cheater. I
think this is hysterical. I saw that the Yankees minor

(27:48):
league team when they play the Astros affiliate in June,
they are turning it into many trash can night. They're
gonna give away many disposable trash cans to all the
fans ends in attendance. This is the kind of stuff
the Astros are going to endure wherever they go. Let
me know when we have that video ready, Alex, I'm

(28:09):
telling you you were going to hear the in the
background people banging on trash cans, and this is gonna
be very interesting. The story continues to move. I don't
give a damn about Altove's tattoo, whether he had it
or not, it is a silly, silly defense. The thing
here is that the Astros have to stand up, take

(28:30):
their medicine, acknowledge it, and move on. Here you see it?
Do we here? Do you also hear in the background there, Alex,
you gotta play it loud so everybody hear the banging.
This is what they're gonna be here. Okay, I think
that is absolutely hysterical when we you know, like, this
is what they're gonna see. All right, But here's the thing.

(28:52):
As you know, if you're real deal stats over beat
Cipher and many of you are for four and thirty
seven episode, I like to mess with these things too,
you know. We like to be the stable genius vocal
minorities sometimes. And Alex, what if I told you that
I now own the rights to astros cheaters dot Com. Okay,

(29:17):
there you go, put it up on the screen astros
jeters dot Com. Okay, I'm not stopping here. Okay, check
this out. We have started this website, all right, and
we are going to build a plan for revenge. Go
to the next one. Okay. This is our call to
action people. Here's what we got. The Houston Astros cheated

(29:38):
their way. But if MLB won't punish the Astros, we
the fans will. Here's the plan, people, Okay, here's what
we're gonna do. This guy inspired me and a bunch
of others banging behind them. You can take that down.
You can take that down, Alex. Okay, Yes, we're gonna
show up and remind the world the Houston Astros are eaters. Okay,

(30:01):
and here's what I think we can do. All right,
take that down. Here's what I think we can do, Alex.
Amazon has everything, bro Amazon has absolutely everything for sale.
And you know what I found, Alex, Okay, put it up.
Here's what I found. You can go right now and
you can just get You can get these buzzers, these

(30:24):
little joke buzzers, the same buzzers that I'll be damned
if Jose Altuve wasn't wearing when he hit a home
run in the a LCS against my New York Yankees. Okay,
you can get these buzzers, Okay, very easily. You know,
jumbo packs for pretty cheap. Take that off. Here's what
we're gonna do. Here's what we're gonna do on Houston

(30:47):
astros cheats dot Com, which I own the rights to
We're gonna start a Kickstarter campaign. We're gonna get money.
We're gonna buy as many of these damn buzzers as possible.
I'm talking dozens, I'm talking hundreds. Okay. And then here's
what I want to do. Anybody, in the sound of
my voice, any city the Houston Astros are in, let

(31:10):
me know, connect with the Spitting Statistician. We will send
you with the Kickstarter money. We will send you funds
to buy a ton of these buzzers. Now you may think,
what could we possibly do with all these buzzers, alex Well,
I got an idea. I think we need to hashtag
buzz Altuve. We need to throw these things at Alta

(31:34):
when he's in the on deck circle, when he's at
second base, when he's in the batter's box. I don't care.
The best time to do it will be in the
very first inning, when he gets his first at bat,
walking from the on deck circle to the plate. Okay,
And here's what we do, because you can't have one person,
just throw a ton of buzzers. If you want to

(31:54):
be a captain in the hashtag buzz Altuve a campaign,
link up with the Spitting statistician, buy a ton and
just stand outside of the stadium handing them to road
fans with the instructions of hashtag buzz Altuve. This is
what we are going to do. My man down in

(32:14):
Florida already banging on the trash cans. You are an
inspiration to us all, Alex. What do you think we
start a kickstarter, we get the money, we buy these buzzers,
and we hashtag buzz alduve. If this grows, okay, we
can literally in every city in Major League Baseball. We

(32:35):
can let the Astros know they didn't get punished and
this can be part of our revenge. I think it's
amazing and it could catch on. What say you, Alex Dane,
As a Met fan, you have me about to run
through a wall. I am so excited for this, and
uh I can't wait to be a part of it.
I want to and I guaid even as a Met fan,

(32:56):
I'll be standing there in the Bronx with the buzzer
and letting them know that they played everybody in Major League.
Absolutely absolutely, I'm telling you right now, I've already got
Frank stand for one of my best friends forever has
already agreed he will join me. We will be well,
we might do a remote show, Okay, we may do
a special edition Fantasy Freestyle whenever the Astros come into

(33:18):
the Bronx. All Right, we're gonna do a special edition
and we're gonna be passing out buzzers to anybody who
wants it. Okay, We've got to look, all right, we've
got to look at the astros schedule. I believe, Alex.
They opened the season at Oakland. I noticed status over
beat Cipher is strong in California, strong style where you at,

(33:40):
Jilly Dilley, where you at when we come to your stadium,
we need to hand out buzzers to everybody, and we
need to hatchtag buzz al tove. So here's what we
gotta do, Alex. Okay, because I'm not on are next
week for Fantasy Freestyle. As you guys know, I'm gonna
be Yaman and Jamaica hashtag Jamaic and me Martine as
y'all know about all that already. Okay, So in two weeks,

(34:03):
here's what we gotta do. We gotta figure out, we
gotta plot the course. We gotta know do we have
any sports grid listeners and he stats over Beats members
that are in these cities where the Astros visit early
in the season, and if you are ready to be
down with hashtag buzz out to a we will talk
about it. We will fund the Buzzers somehow with a kickstarter,

(34:23):
and we're gonna make it pop. What do you think, Alex?
In the next two weeks, we have to find people
that can in fact do this and help us out.
I've got a couple of ideas. We will interview you.
We're gonna try and get Mike Bolsinger on the air
with us, the Blue Jay's pitcher who is swing the Astros.
Maybe Dylan g as well, he got burned from this.
I think we're onto something and there is no better

(34:46):
time than to bring in my man Danny Otto, because
this is the fun and functional sports content. He knows
about the stats over Beat cipher. Danny, what do you think,
because you haven't heard anything about this idea? What do
you think, my friends, can we make hashtag buzz out
to happen? Sight and seeing this sounds absolutely incredible. I've
been sitting over here just like Aus jugg I was like,
this is the greatest idea I've ever so help me though.

(35:08):
You guys are millennials. You guys know a little bit better, Like,
can we get it? Can we get a Kickstarter? Can
we raise money to do this? I'm not putting out
my own money to buy all these hopefully hundreds of buzzers.
How do we do this? You leveraging social media hashtag
buzz aut How do we get captains in every city?
How do we get the money to buy the buzzers?
Danny definitely Kickstarter sounds like the first place. Okay, so

(35:32):
this is the help. I mean, I'm off getting married
in the next week or two. Okay, I need us
to figure out how are we going to get this money,
buy these buzzers and get you know, captains like uh
in these cities to make this happen. I think we
absolutely can do this. I don't know. Maybe Gabe or
Scott Farrell can help me out. Also, right, use your audience,

(35:52):
use the power hit me up at spitting speeds. And
also if you if you do this, post pictures of it.
We will put it on Astro's cheat dot com and
we will let them know that what they did was unacceptable.
Come on back, We'll be a little bit lighter. We'll
Talk XFL and Fight Night in Vegas. On the other side,

(36:13):
it's the fantasy freestyle, but I ain't playing y'all. Hashtag
buz out to day. Let's make it happen. It's fantasy freestyle,
yah do say that's what we do. Spitting statistiction in
the building. Come on back. I want to light the
lamp on Draff, Kings and FanDuel this NHL DFS season.

(37:02):
Everybody still wants to get ready for fantasy baseball, and
they want to get ready for spring training and the
start of the regular season, an opening day and everything else.
It's already been ruined. It's already been ruined by the
Houston Astros. The Boston Red Sox and certainly by Rob
Manfred and the best thing he could do. He says,
we don't want to alter what happened on the field.
What happened on the field was altered by cheating, you

(37:22):
stupid idiot. Week days for the six pm Eastern on
the Sports Grid network. Hey hey, hey, yeah here papay
Oh hey, al right, check it out episode four thirty

(37:45):
seven of the Fantasy Freestyle right here on Sports Grid.
I'm amped up because this five minutes. The post at
the second rates that actual. But check this out. Also,
here's the other genius of hashtag buzz alt Tove Alex.
All Right, I'm not gonna get caught. I'm not gonna
get you know, kicked out of a stadium for anything. Right,
I'm not throwing the buzzers. The plan is to pass

(38:07):
out dozens of buzzers to random fans, a ton of them,
and then, you know, just have trust and faith in
fandom that something amazing will happen. Right, Alex like makes
me tell people, Yo, exactly, I'm gas lighting the fans

(38:28):
out there. That's right, That's exactly what I'm doing, and
I make no bones about it. That's what we should
do with the platform that we have here on sports Grid.
But I digress, Alex. One of the other things we've
been talking about for the last couple of weeks is
the XFL, right, both in terms of some of the
rule changes, some of the product that we're seeing as
far as an entertainment in front, as far as the

(38:48):
quality of the product, but also because this is one
of the unique opportunities in the sports gambling world where
you and the books kind of have the same amount
of in nation and I think that is very interesting.
And now as we've had two weeks, we're starting to
see a little bit more, but there could be some
prime contrarian positions as well. So here's what I want

(39:10):
to ask you about. Did you see any of the
XFL headlines or any of the games over the weekend, Alice,
because what I want to talk to you about. Remember
we said how everyone was miked up with such a
good thing, the access we were getting and hearing the
players on the sideline, hearing the coaches in the ear Well,
I think that backfired a little bit this week, Alex.
Did you hear any of this with Matt mcgloyan and
the New York New York squad completely undermined his coach

(39:33):
and said, yeah, this isn't working, so let's change it up.
I think so. Right, So he's like going into halftime
talking about we need to completely revamp our game plan.
He's on the sidelines over her talking to another player
being like, this is the worst game I've ever played
in my life, you know, and this is and then
he got benched. You know. So it's interesting. You want

(39:54):
this access, right, but then you getta hold Matt mcgloyan
accountable who later came out and said, listen, you hear
this kind of stuff every game and every sideline that
this was almost par for the course. I don't know
if it was, but it's interesting, right how we love it.
But then the other side of the coin is it,
you know, where it exposes some of that rough underbelly,
which I think is cool, but ultimately make cost Matt

(40:17):
mcloyn his starting job. He was playing like pooh, if
you want to know, they look like blunt guts trashed
on the offense against DC on Saturday though, oh yeah,
no question about it. Also, DC is becoming and I
think right now stands the favorite tend exactly honestly though
to that point though, uh, I think Cardel Jones, Yeah,
Cardel Jones, but it's such a there's such a high

(40:38):
praise right now, they're such put up on a pedal stool.
I think that's gonna backfire in such a new league,
you know what I'm saying, that the top domino will
fall eventually. Yes, yes, I'm gonna talk about that a
little bit as well. But before we get into my
plays for a week three, which does have that in common. Um,
the other thing we didn't talk about last time in
terms of a rule standpoint are the claw and the

(41:00):
timing inside the last two minutes. I think that's pretty interesting, Alex.
So what happens is inside of two minutes, even on
a running play, even on a play that's inbounds, they
do not start the clock for five seconds, and it
leaves the entire playbook open. You can run the ball
right still with only two minutes left, you can you know,
throw to the middle of the field. And I think
that is very interesting. I don't think NFL will adopt it,

(41:22):
but I like it. Yet another rule inspiring excitement and
offense here in the NFL and the XFL. It's it's
kind of like a good and a bad thing um
in both senses, because you're right, it does. It's something
that the NFL will never do when it gives you
a more opportunity to open up your playbook. But it
kind of has a sense eliminates the fast two minutes,
you know what I mean, like the excitement of, oh
my gosh, we gotta get this cl clock, you know

(41:44):
what I'm saying. Like, I think it's just it's kind
of like a give and take sort of thing. Exactly
spiked the ball. You don't have to do that exactly. Yeah,
So so that is interesting. But then you mentioned like
obviously the top domino will fall because maybe this is
just recency bias and you only have two games to
see these teams. So as d C is now the
favorite there two to one to win it all, I've

(42:04):
been telling you I'm riding with the Houston Roughnecks. Okay,
they are not the second choice. I should have got
them when they were like plus five fifty. They're now
we're all the way down to plus two fifty. P J. Walker.
I like the D line. I like June Jones as
the tight end. I like them throwing it around the lot. Okay,
here's the thing, Alex, I do like them. Okay, I
still like the Houston Roughnecks. I'm betting against them this

(42:25):
week and that's my play of the week in the XFL. However, Alex,
check this out for this week. In Week three, the
Houston Roughnecks go on the road for the first time
this season, and they go on the road to the
Tampa Vipers. Now here's the deal, Alex, Houston too and
oh both games at home. They look good right on
the flip side, Tampa Oh and two both games on

(42:47):
the road. And somehow though people are forgetting you talked
about the short narrative the short season so far, the
Tampa Bay Vipers were the favorites to win the XFL preseason.
They have a very strong defense. Jerry Glenn loves their defense.
And also in both of those games for Tampa Bay
where they lost, they gave up the defense, the opposing

(43:08):
defense scored points. Okay, so that defense is still playing
good for Tampa Bay. Seattle. I think how to pick
six from like the three yard line and then the
um The New York Guardians got their win and the
opener scoring on defense as well. So this Tampa Bay
Vipers defense is still pretty good, has not truly been exposed,
and now after two back to back road games, they

(43:31):
finally go home to host the Houston Refnecks. Now, I
still do like Houston as a team. I think they
are a good choice in the futures market, but I'm
Tampa Bay Vipers. This week, they are home for their
home opener in Week three of the XFL, and they
are getting six and a half points against Houston. I'm
gonna tell you, I think this defense is strong, Alex,
and I think that is too many. What say you?

(43:52):
What do you think? I think you're absolutely right. You know,
it's a strong defense and it's a great team all around.
But thank you. We also did see this week though,
like I said, I said this last week we didn't
see the double pass. We didn't see the full extent
of the rule book. This week we did. To that
point of defense, We're gonna start seeing some defensive schemes.
Maybe adapt to this double pass or adapt to this
two minutes slower drill kind of thing. Okay, I think

(44:14):
it's you're you're You're absolutely right. It's great team, great
defense all around. But I still think it's a little
too early. Maybe after like this week, maybe next week,
we're gonna really start to see the solidified game plan
playbook for each team so to speak. Yeah, well, listen up,
here's the deal. I'm gonna get six and a half
points at home with the team that was the preseason
favorite to win this league and his oh and two

(44:35):
but was on the road in tough spots both times.
I'm gonna take the Tampa Bay Vipers plus six and
a half as a play for Week three in the XFL.
We only got a couple of minutes left, Alex, and
I wanted to say something. You know, my man Jared
Smith was in Vegas over the weekend, you know, and
there's gonna be a big time fight in Vegas, uh
this weekend. On Saturdays, Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury have

(44:58):
a rematch of their heavyweight draw that happened last year.
Both of these fighters are still undefeated, okay, and we're
getting a lot of opinions. This is going off at
minus one ten both sides. They're pretty much, you know,
even money both sides on this fight. But this is
why I love shopping around and anybody, you know, I'm
here in the FanDuel Sports Book right now, the first

(45:19):
out of four hundred and thirty seven episodes here at
the FanDuel Sports Board, here on Sports Grid, not in
Studio thirty four for this week. I'll be back after
the wedding um. But here's the deal, fan Duel. They
offer so many of these great promos, Alex, and I
think they're offering a promo that fits right into the
hands of how this fight could play out. All right,

(45:40):
So if you know anything about this, you know that
Deante wild that has the power punch. Okay, he can
knock you out in one punch. If lightning strikes you
might be done. You may remember the video Alex, last
of the last fight where he knocked Tyson Fury down,
but he like got up like the Undertaker when everyone
thought he was knocked out. Okay, And that's the thing.
Yonte Wilder has the knockout power. Tyson Fury is the

(46:04):
better boxer. Tyson Fury is the better boxer. Tyson Fury
just switched his training team. He's got now the nephew
of Emmanuel Stewart as his trainer. I think he's the
better boxer. He was outclassing Wilder when it comes to
the sweet science of boxing. For most of that fight,
he just got knocked down twice, okay, and that's what
made the scorecards a draw, all right. But also Wilder

(46:26):
is a I mean, Fury is a showman. He likes
to you know, he was showboating a little bit. He
comes on in and his outfits and all that. But
now they know second time around, now they know it
can be a fight. I don't think Tyson Fury is
gonna come in which as much showboating, as much craziness
as he did last time. In essence, I don't think
he will take Deontay Wilder and that power lightly. Okay.

(46:50):
So I think Tyson Fury is going to be the
more skilled boxer and if it goes the distance, if
it goes to points, it will be Tyson Fury. The
question is can he avoid the knockout? Feel me? That's
the way I think this fight will go, Alex. I
think Tyson Fury is the much better boxer, and he
might he'll look like he's outclassing Wilder at times. The

(47:12):
question is can he avoid the big one? All right?
That's the way I think it plays out. I think
now I look at FanDuel and check out what they're offering.
Go ahead. I'm just like, I think we're definitely gonna
get a better in the Jones. Yes, fight a couple
of weeks ago, that's for sure. As great that was,
I think this one sure, I'll buy that. Yeah, absolutely.
Also to this week, we saw them at their present

(47:33):
every way title. Yeah, they're really starting to dawn each
other to at this shoving. They don't like each other. Yeah,
they don't like each other. Now they absolutely don't like
each other. This is going to be real, Okay, but
this is how it plays out. I know, we only
got a couple of minutes, all right, So I think
Wilder's path to victory is the knockout. Furies path to
victory is out boxing him and on points, and that's

(47:56):
the way it plays out on fan duel as well. Okay,
if you look at it on fan Duel, you know
they're even. But it's something like plus seven hundred for
a Wilder to win on points because he ain't gonna
do that. He's gonna win by knocked out, and it's
like plus eight hundred for Fury to win by knockout
because he's not gonna do that. He's gonna outbox Wilder.
But on Fansuel, they're offering an option here. You gotta

(48:17):
opt into it. They are giving you a refund like
one of those paybacks if you bet a boxer and
they lose within the first six rounds, you get your
money back. Okay. So because of this, I'm telling you
to bet Fury in that way, because you get Fury
if he wins, and I think I do lean slightly

(48:38):
too tights and Fury in this matchup. He wins, you
get it. The catch here is, though, if he were
to lose the way we think it's gonna happen is
a Wilder knockout, and that could happen at any point
in time. So if it happens in the first half
of the fight, you get your money back. Okay. Maybe
fan Duel is setting me up and luring me in,
but I think it's a good way to go. Bet Fury,

(48:59):
but opt in and get it paid back. If he
doesn't that get knocked out. I think it's a halfway hedge,
a light Tyson Fury, and remember the Vipers couldn't get
their first win. I'm off next week to get this
ring on it. I'll be back in two weeks back
in Studio thirty four. Thank you Alex, Thanks Danny Otto.
Don't forget let's buzz out to all year long ham out.
