A new documentary screening at DocEdge promises to examine the risks and lure of deep-sea mining.
Deep Rising, narrated by Jason Momoa, explores controversial proposals and plans by corporations to mine the ocean floor- and all the devastating consequences that may bring.
Director Matthieu Rytz says he was inspired by the complexity of the issue when he heard about it over five years ago.
"I was absolutely amazed by the complexity of the energy transition, but also realising how little I know about the ocean and my own planet. And it kickstarted this journey to the bottom of the ocean."
