Natalie Evans (00:03):
Welcome to the Happy Home Sale podcast with me,
Natalie Evans. In this weeklypodcast, I speak to homeowners
and experts from differentindustries, to share real life
stories, and inspiring advice toshow you how you can make your
home selling journey. One ofbliss, happiness, joy, and

(00:23):
staggering success.
This is the first episode of thevery first series of The Happy
Home Sale podcast. So I thoughtI would just start off by
saying, Hi, I am so pleased thatyou found this podcast because
this series is going to give youthe tools, tips and fresh

(00:46):
perspective to transform yourhome sale or perception of
selling your home for thefuture. I'm your host, Natalie
Evans. And in this weeklypodcast, I'll be joined by
amazing experts from a wholerange of industries who are
ready to show you along withmyself that selling your home
can be a blissful, inspirationaland enlightening experience.

(01:11):
Those are words that you do notnormally hear associated with
selling your home, but be readyfor it because this is a
positive space. And I really dohave my mythbusting gloves at
the ready to push away those oldhorror stories surrounding
selling up and replace them withfresh ideas and friendly

(01:31):
conversation.
As the founder of a UK basedhome staging brand, I have
worked with hundreds offrustrated home sellers, all who
tried to navigate the sale of aproperty. And one day, I

(01:54):
realised that well, regardlessof their background, property
style, or story, they all hadone thing in common. They were
all burdened by the fear thatselling their home was going to
be a stressful experience. Eventhose who hadn't yet set out on
the journey. We're alreadyfeeling the pressure. You hear

(02:15):
it everywhere. I mean, everywhere you go, somebody
wants to tell you or share anegative experience of selling
up. Just recently, I wasspeaking to another parent on
the way out from the schoolplayground. She said that she
was hoping to sell her home overthe next two to six months. But
she had been speaking to peoplearound her who told her the

(02:37):
market was about to dive andeverything was about to go
horribly wrong. And oh, thatpoor lady. She hadn't even
started her journey. You couldalready feel the pressure, the
tension and the anxiety that wasbuilding up. Does everything go
wrong? No. Otherwise, no onewould ever sell their home. But

(03:02):
no one's shares that story. It'sa bit like online product
reviews or online holidayreviews. People are fastest to
share their negative feedback, but don't often share the
positive. That is why I wantedto create a happy homesale to
share optimism to sharepositivity to bring some light

(03:26):
to a process that had previouslyseemed pressure filled. I have
learned like we do with otherareas in our life, that a shift
in our perspective, a gentlerefocus on mindset. And a
determination for happiness goesa long way. And the same is true
for your home. So having an openand positive mindset is key. And

(03:53):
being able to identify with whatis a triggering story versus
what is your reality is reallygoing to help you out as we
begin your home selling journey. So here's a quick task for you
this week. Use it within yourhome sale at work or even if
you're listening to the news inthe morning. I'm gonna call this
task story versus reality.Wherever you are today, whoever

(04:18):
you are with, or whatever you'rewatching on television, the
moment you feel yourselfbecoming impacted by another
story. Stop and tell yourselfthat's not my story, and focus
on your reality. Here's anexample of how that might play
out in your home sellingjourney. Imagine you're speaking

(04:39):
to a friend about a viewing on ahouse that you're going on at
the weekend. You are so excited. You've seen online you've driven
past and you cannot wait to getinside and see it for yourself
in reality and they follow it upwith a story of the time that
they offer, wasn't it Did youcan sense their negativity? How

(05:05):
does that make you feel? Stopand tell yourself. That's not my
story. The optimism, theexcitement, the passion, the
vision of your new home, that isyour reality. Hold on to that.

(05:26):
And you really will go into thatviewing with a positive outcome.
Let me know how you get on withthat task this week. Whether
you're applying it to your homecell, whether you're applying it
to a home, I really want to knowhow you get on. So keep me
posted.

(05:47):
