In such moments we may receive flash ideas, unexpected solutions or even life changing connections from God.

Hey there, friends. Gary Miller here. This is Hope in Hymn Today.
I'm sharing with you today from the wisdom notes of Mike Murdoch in a section about difficult times.
It says this, moments pregnant with discomfort often birth seasons of revelation.
Discomfort is always the seed for promotion and change.

(00:30):
Are you in a season right now where things feel a little uncomfortable?
Have you ever been in a season where things are a little uncomfortable?
Do you think you're ever going to be in a season when things are uncomfortable?
Most of us can answer yes to many of those, if not all of them.
And it's just a wonderful reminder here that when we're walking with God,

(00:54):
we have to understand in some of the most trying moments, that's where we we
get some of our clearest and on-time revelation from God. Why is that? I don't know.
It seems like our ears, both spiritually and naturally, can hear and receive
better when there's a struggle going on.

(01:14):
Now, I'm not suggesting that we should be walking in seasons of struggle all
the time. I don't think that's what the scripture teaches.
But when we are struggling, for whatever reason, it's almost like that radio knob tuning in.
There's less static and we get a good signal.
And it's in those moments that we can hear from God uniquely about our circumstances,

about our situation, or about something that he wants us to know.
Sometimes it's a flash of an idea that we go, where in the world did that come from?
A solution that we weren't expecting, a relationship or connection that can change things.
But often, and I go to this second part of this statement from Pastor Mike,
it says, discomfort is always the seed for promotion and change.

When you're uncomfortable, just know that this can be the source of massive
change that can ultimately end up in promotion and good things and growth.
It's one of the easiest and hardest ways to reframe discomfort,
pain, and troubling times.
When you're really going through something, when you're really wrestling with

something, just know that that is a powerful portal for God to bring about change in your life.
As uncomfortable as it might be, that can end in great promotion and blessings,
whether that's an actual promotion at work or or an increase in income or an
increase in a relationship in terms of maybe solving something that's been broken.

(02:41):
Whatever the case may be, God can do it. And let me tell you something,
it's not the worst sign in the world.
If you're struggling right now, if there's something that's really weighing
you down and it's a difficult season, just know that those seasons are seeds
of promotion and change.
And you can receive words from God that you would never be able to receive otherwise

(03:04):
if you weren't right where you are.
God's not lost. He's not confused. He knows exactly where you are and he knows
exactly what he's doing.
Doing take some take some encouragement in that get a hold of that and know
that you'll walk through your time of trial differently because as the song
says something good's about to happen i'll see you next time.
