The future of home cleaning may be changing.
I've asked Viv from Maid Brigade to join me here on the program today to talk about the future of cleaning your home.
Hey,
Viv,
hi there.
How are you?
Hey,
it's good to see you.
I'm doing great.
Thank you.
All right.
There's some new advancements.
What can we expect in the future in home cleaning?

(00:22):
Well,
I would say right now,
you know,
with the,
um,
future with,
you know,
writing manuals and putting policies and procedures,
um,
in our operations side of the business,
I think A I has helped us a lot with kind of helping us,
you know,
making sure we're getting,
you know,
those,
those procedures getting done and quicker and we could,
we could focus on other things as,

(00:43):
you know,
taking care of our customers and teams.
And I think also what we're working on also is like,
you know,
we have,
uh,
we're testing out these battery,
uh,
vacuums at home.
It's battery operated.
Uh,
but the good thing about them,
they're quiet,
especially if you're working from home or someone,
you know,
babies are sleeping,
you know,
it's quiet,
it's good and people love it.

(01:05):
Um,
and they're easy to charge and I think that's gonna be great.
We also have,
um,
let's see here,
safe products.
We make our own products.
I think.
Um,
we hope to see that more out in the future,
but I'm,
I'm happy to hear that.
You know,
we,
we have it here and we can make it.
Um,
I would say also our technology here,
we're paperless.
We're a paperless company.

(01:26):
We don't use papers.
Everyone is through our,
we have an app so it's easy to manage.
We're,
and it's,
we follow a lot of automation,
you know,
before we had to do,
we do schedules and once the schedules are out,
we had to tell customers what time will be there.
Now with the schedule automatic,
it's automatically sends them an arrival window.
We don't have to do that.
So it takes off some burden on the office with doing um all that manual work.

(01:51):
I think also social media,
we have a social media platform.
You know,
we have uh we show videos,
you know what we're doing here as teams,
we have events,
you know,
and I think it also helps us with the hiring process.
People seeing us on social media reaching us through there via like,
you know,
Facebook messenger.
And it's so much I'm thinking we're also testing out um hopefully a chargeable scrub brush,

(02:14):
we wanna apply,
roll out soon.
It's pretty much,
it's not a scrub it's more of what to looking at.
It's a UV light,
it's showing,
you know,
areas that have been missed and it just shows like,
you know,
um,
that light helps us to see,
to make sure we clean it,
you know,
correctly.
As simple as cleaning a home appears to be.

(02:34):
There are some improvements I would say probably for decades there wasn't much change.
The person coming to your home would bring a bucket and a mop and some cleaner.
And that's just the way it's been for a long time.
But now with the advancement of technology,
there's so many options.
I like the idea of the battery operated vacuum.

(02:57):
So it's,
it's basically cordless also.
It's gonna save the homeowner probably a little bit of electricity because you're not using their power.
I'm assuming that's gonna be charged at the shop before you go to the home with it.
Yeah,
we also,
I forgot to mention we are exploring also with a robotic window washer.
We have it here.
Yeah,
it's pretty cool.
We're testing it out and we're putting them on windows.

(03:19):
It's still,
it's like a Roomba but for windows.
But,
um,
it's,
I think it's great for like shower doors and stuff.
But hopefully we,
we roll that out also in the near future.
But I,
I think that's a pretty cool gadget we have here.
No,
that's great because that will save some time I would imagine for the cleaning process because the human can let the robot do its work and kind of manage that while they're doing something else or doing other task.
