A) Sergio calls in to ask David a question about "sports" in his growing up in Detroit youth. B) We resume at James Chapter 5:9, where we discover that a commandment from God in the Old Testament remains valid in the New Testament. This commandment is straightforward: Do not complain about one another. Indeed, many people make mistakes, and we are likely among them. However, the admonition is not to judge, as the true judge is standing at the door. C) James then shifts our thought process to understand how we should abstain from complaining. The key is recognizing the need for patience in our afflictions. When we exercise patience, we tend to complain less. A useful method to gauge our progress is to observe the words we utter during our trials.
