Speaker 1 (00:02):
Saulsbrey, Okay, let's do this.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Sewn Salisbury, The USC Truths, longtime friend, Shawn Salisbury.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
Bryan Lima, go Lobos. This is the Sewan Salisbury show.

Speaker 4 (00:22):
That's not good.

Speaker 5 (00:23):
Last night, Spencer Arighetty two thirds of an inning, they
lose twelve to five. Day Gamer today, trying to avoid
the sweep that was good morning, good morning, good morning.
NFL starts tonight, does it?

Speaker 6 (00:36):
Really?

Speaker 7 (00:36):
It does?

Speaker 5 (00:37):
I thought it was last show. Well, this was last
week of preseason. Forget the headlines. We've got two of them.
Astros lose. NFL season starts tonight and Kyle Tucker didn't play.

Speaker 4 (00:45):
Yeah, he's not nine yet. Can we go back? I
thought it was one more preseason game. Does the NFL
start this week tonight?

Speaker 8 (00:51):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (00:52):
We got a game tonight tonight. Yeah, I'll be watching
Boulden Greenbirst Slippery Rocks. So you do you? You do you?

Speaker 7 (00:57):
What's the line on that, sir?

Speaker 4 (00:59):
The Lion seven?

Speaker 9 (01:00):
Is it?

Speaker 4 (01:02):
That's the over under on how many points are gonna
score the whole year? No, I'm kidding. Why do I
always Why do I gotta be Why do I gotta
throw strays at.

Speaker 5 (01:07):
Slippery Slippery Rocks like a top ten FBS team too.
I got a crazy I love the Rock every year
love slip. Maybe that's why I like the name.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
Hey, where'd you go? I went to Slippery Rock? Think
about that? You like the oh the soul Ross State Universe.

Speaker 7 (01:21):
It makes sense.

Speaker 4 (01:22):
I think they should name it the Slippery Rock. No
you can't, No, you can't. No. Back to these astros.
I think what happened in the clubhouse before the game.
They said, Spencer your throwing batting practice today, so a
little be peace hun That doesn't bode well with our coach.
That the argument of who's gonna be in your rotation, Well, well,

(01:48):
I'm talking about rotation of the postseason. That listen. One
off's happened. He's been pitching fantastic, but we got a
judge what we saw yesterday and.

Speaker 7 (01:57):
He couldn't have got you and me out yesterday.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
It really I mean boom, home run, boom, double boom,
and that damn Dela Cruz. You think he can run,
He's pretty good. Yeah, he'll do in a pinch. What's
he sixty plus stolen bases this year? Already? Yeah? I
think when I say already, noone pushing sixty five or
seventy something like that. Yeah, but just he couldn't get
out of Every ball that was hit was hit hard.

(02:20):
And you know, when you're down nine to nothing, you
spot a team nine runs in Little League three innings later,
we'd mercy ruled their ass, right, they got they'd have
got mercy ruled yesterday. Sixty two stolen bases for Elidela Cruz. Yeah,
they'd have got mercy ruled yesterday. It was not good.
It was it was ugly, you know. And I was
saying on Fox this morning with Nate, I said, they
throw out you know, if they throw out that first

(02:40):
you know, on like a professor, high school teacher, say hey, listen,
we're gonna throw out your worst. Yeah, we'll go. That
was a bad first hitting, which led to a twelve
five ass whooping that they took. They haven't beat Cincinnati since,
would they say, twenty sixteen?

Speaker 7 (02:54):
Twenty sixteen?

Speaker 4 (02:55):
Yeah, now, and George Foster, Pete Rose, and Joe Morgan
don't play for them anymore so eight years ago. Yes,
it is, thank goodness. They don't play the old school
nineteen times a year like they used to it a
couple of years ago in the division, right so, and
that they're in the National League makes it a good thing.
But they listen Cincinnati, and you know what's crazy for
a good team, it's it's almost disheartening. Maybe they're all

(03:16):
ready for Joe Burrow in the Bengals, but when you
see the stands, there's nobody there. No so I'm sitting
there if i'm Teams now start giving tickets away and
for in one dollar hot dogs every single game to
get some people to the ballpark. But it's it's kind
of disheartening, isn't it.

Speaker 5 (03:31):
Seventeen thousand fans in attendance last night to watch it,
and honestly looked like it was like seven fans.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
That's it. Did it really did so? But it wasn't good.
It wasn't good. The pitching was Spencer Arraghetti. I mean
it was you think, okay, lead off home run, who
that happens? Yeah, but anything, man, it didn't matter what
pitch he threw. They hammered it. So they happen. Hopefully
today the roles will be reversed. Really hard to spot
some many nine runs and expect to go win. But

(03:57):
the bigger picture is as good as he's been you
know what happens. If you're a manager, I think, or
us or anybody, your first thought is, man, what a
rookie year Spencer Raghety's had and what a run he's
on with these deep getting deep into games and all
this swinging myth and you think, okay, and the temptation
of this rookie's not he's no mentally and stuff.

Speaker 7 (04:18):
He's not a rookie and he gets people out.

Speaker 4 (04:20):
Then when you see what happened yesterday, and although it
was what two thirds of an inning?

Speaker 7 (04:23):
Two thirds he and I'm sitting.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
There watching it, I'm like, okay, eating some Mexicansloys says,
this are you going to get out of this? Is
it that ground ball going to hit somebody? You know,
go to somebody and found every every ounce of grass
you could find. But my thought was, if you're in
that judgment phase now, and you are, if you're the
front office, and if you're a Joe Espota in the pitching,

(04:46):
who you trust, come five and a half game, then
the Mariners wins down to five and a half. I
think yesterday I think that. I think so I didn't
pay attention to the marinath. I think the meritors won.
I know the Rangers won, they walked off. So you
go win the divisions, right, you go win the division?

Speaker 10 (04:59):
Right?

Speaker 4 (04:59):
Yeah, but don't you always go back to with all
the good stuff. There's got to be a part of
you if you're a manager that says, what if? Yeah,
you know what I mean? Now, game like this is
one when you had that rotation. If Ronell Blanco was
in the bullpen and this was postseason, he's in, he's
pitching in the second inning, right, or you go get
a bullpen guy, get him out, let him get loose

(05:20):
in a normal routine, and then it's like he started
the game. But you're trying to figure out who you trust.
And I trust vincon Araghetty. But the question is in
single elimination type and playoff you know series, all right,
I'll ask you this, Verlander or Aarragedty postseason, if it
came to one of those two, you know where you're going?

Speaker 11 (05:38):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (05:38):
Not, because now that's when performance and experience yesterday makes
you think, that's why I got to go back to
the forty one year old, right if it was between
those two. So I just and I'm not bearing it
at all. I am so impressed with this kid's makeup.
But yesterday wasn't it. And when you're thinking about the postseason,
those things come into play. When you think about that,

(05:59):
you say, oh, there's no doubt. Now Cokuchi's our third
guy right in the Poston. You start to roll through
those things in your head. But Spencer Araghetty needs to
apologize to know one other than get back to work
because in five or six days he's gonna have to
do it again.

Speaker 5 (06:12):
Two thirds of an inning, six hits, niner and runs,
no strikeouts, three walks. And it's not like, you know,
he went out there and gave up a couple of
bloop hits there, you know, a couple of line drives.
I mean, dude, he got barreled and barreled and barreled
and barreled. Double home run or home run double fielder's choice.

(06:37):
I mean it just it did not matter. Nine spot
and plus on top of it, the defense for the
Ashros last night was atrocious.

Speaker 7 (06:45):
Jeremy pania Is.

Speaker 5 (06:49):
Has not been a very good shortstop defensively over the
last fifteen games. I think he's got seven errors something
like that. Well, for a guy that want to gold glove,
it just doesn't stop there. His start to this season,
what's the first thing he thought of? Superstar?

Speaker 4 (07:06):
He worked on you know those pitches he was chasing
on non competitive strikes or balls last year, right pitch.
And then you started through most of the season like,
this guy's raking. When you look at the numbers, he's
two sixty nine, fifteen home runs and built. You know what,
I'm gonna say it as loud as I can, because
I love the guy. You got to have more production

(07:27):
from him in the field without Ques Wld. It looks
like the way he's been playing for you know, you
know the guy who puts from four feet, who's who's
been a great putter, and all of a sudden he
wakes up one day, goes out there and misses a
four footer and gets the yips, And then you say,
this dude couldn't put it into a manhole from four
feet and if it's a major he's rolling at eighteen
feet by. He looks like the guy when you're in

(07:50):
when you're in little league baseball, you say, let's put
the guy at shortstop, and a guy goes out there
is like, well, okay, I'm athe, but I've never played
the position.

Speaker 7 (07:57):
Yeah, and it feels it looks for to him.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
There's not nothing smooth about him right when it comes,
and this guy's smooth and great glove doesn't make many
airs this year.

Speaker 7 (08:07):
It's been a struggle.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
And when you're hitting two sixty nine, I'm starting to wonder,
is that who Jeremy Paine is? Is that where he's
gonna live with that batting average? But with his build,
if you're gonna hit two sixty nine, I need more
pop than fifteen home runs, don't you.

Speaker 5 (08:20):
Yeah, he's had let's see my goodness, excuse me, since
in August he had Uh, he's got eighteen airs so
far this season.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
I hate to say unacceptable, Yeah for him, especially who's
got a great arm, phenomenal hands, big range he got.
I mean, he can do it all. And I start
to wonder if at the plate or in the field
is affecting one of the other.

Speaker 7 (08:49):
Is the field I mean?

Speaker 4 (08:50):
And he started to pick it up with his bat
a little bit, right, I mean, he's had a he
was having a really good season early on with the
not chasing bad pitches and looking like he last year
was I thought a step back plate discipline, You feel me?
I thought his plate discipline was better the first two
and a half two and two thirds of the season, or

(09:10):
at least half of it. But I you know, you
start to wonder, are the airs affecting the next play
for him? You know, we've talked about being able to
get over it because this is unlike him. It's almost
like every every other game you expect a throwing or
a fielding air right now, and that is not him.
But if they don't start defending the baseball, you got problems.

Speaker 5 (09:30):
Actually, the Reds official score did not give him an
air last night, even though I feel like it was
a routine play.

Speaker 4 (09:36):
Regardless, that didn't give an air. But for him, that
is a routine that that's where you're judging. The play
has got to be made, right. But he is. He's
You're gonna have to count on him in the postseason, brother,
And we know what his postseason chops look like, at
least his rookie year fantastic, right, But he got to
get back to being smooth, you know, slick fielding and

(09:56):
doing all the things he does. And probably we still
need a little more pop at the plate from him,
and we also need to get Jeff Bagwell out of
the broadcast booth sound down? Why do you punish yourself
like that? I enjoy listening to Todd cost I know,

(10:17):
but if you don't, if it's if it's fingernails on
a chalkboard for you. Just turned the sound.

Speaker 5 (10:22):
Down, buddy, just listening, you know, just turn the sound down,
open the window, listen to nature while the astros get
their ass kick last.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
Night, and who would want to listen to the sound
and I mean after the first inning, Yeah, you can
keep after the first inning, You're like, keep yourself busy.
Watch it. It's like I'm gonna just look over my
shoulder watch I'm gonna keep it. You know how when
you're doing something, you keep the TV on for company.

Speaker 5 (10:42):
Right, That's what that was yesterday last night they did
their their like the Space City Home Network did their
whole uh what is it? Ask the booth Wednesday, right,
you tweet the hashtag or whatever and then they ask
so of course, with Jeff bag will be in a
Hall of Famer, a lot of people wanted to talk
about his you know, his career and things like that.

(11:03):
There was like three questions that Todd Kallis asked him
from viewers and like Jeff bag was like, Oh, I
don't know. I don't even remember that. I don't know.
I don't I don't know, I don't even I don't know.

Speaker 4 (11:17):
Is that what he said?

Speaker 5 (11:17):
Yeah, It's like, bro, yes, you do give us some
context answer the damn question.

Speaker 4 (11:24):
Hans Hans while you're on the broadcast. Yeah, to share
insight we don't have. It's like, come on, man.

Speaker 5 (11:31):
In the amount of times he cuts off, Todd kallis like, dude,
get this man out of the booth. I understand everything
he's done for the organization, everything he's done in his
career as a player, but my god, you don't have
to put You don't have to put every Hall of
Famer or every ex player in the booth.

Speaker 4 (11:47):
Some of them, when you put him in the booth,
it almost loses their player luster, which is unfair to
them because like, wait a minute, you you kind of
now you're starting in this thing. Since I've been here,
Whenever Bagwell goes on, huh, I didn't know because I'm
like I want to hear Jeff Bagwell, No you don't.
But this is like they're like beside himself when he

(12:08):
goes on Talk Baseball and it's all, when you hear
people talk, they don't like him as a personnel guy.
They don't like him as a broadcast. They just wanted
to play first base and hit. Yeah, but what's crazy.
But after all this, I'll ask you what did you
answers when we get back so we can get to
break out.

Speaker 7 (12:21):
What did you expect you? I mean, I'm talking.

Speaker 4 (12:23):
About what you've heard now. Did you expect like a
full change over that he was going to come all excitement?

Speaker 12 (12:29):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (12:29):
Yeah, you're right on that one. That's probably just me
being NAIs.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
I think that's who Jeff is, right, a little understated
does it kind of goes about his business and you're
not going to get a whole lot of John Smoltz inside.

Speaker 7 (12:41):
That's dog, suck it up, dog.

Speaker 4 (12:43):
That's on me.

Speaker 7 (12:43):
That's why I listened to Robert Ford and Steve Sparks.
Bobby Ford. Hey, we got a loaded show today.

Speaker 4 (12:48):
Do we we did?

Speaker 10 (12:49):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (12:50):
We mean, you know, for a guy that loves football,
you want to talk baseball for the for the next
four hours?

Speaker 4 (12:56):
Yes, you do? I do.

Speaker 9 (12:57):
I don't.

Speaker 7 (12:57):
I don't know if I can create enough topics.

Speaker 4 (12:59):
I don't really want to talk baseball because after the
first hitting baseball went out the window yesterday.

Speaker 5 (13:03):
We got Texans predictions, we got NFL predictions for them too.
We have division winners, We've got a FC title, NFC titles,
super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (13:15):
We are loaded.

Speaker 5 (13:16):
You're basically saying up any respect on the NFL. You're
not You're not, and it's sad. It makes me and
Tripley upset. I'm gonna speak for Tripley as well. So
we got to get the break because we will continue.

Speaker 7 (13:25):
To talk about these fricking h okay shoddy home.

Speaker 5 (13:29):
Let's go to a Gruss stalk Astros and Spence Spencer
Eric Getty got lit up last night.

Speaker 4 (13:36):
Uh, let's look a little more into that outing. That's next.

Speaker 13 (13:41):
Let's go.

Speaker 4 (13:41):
This is the Sean Salisbury Show, and this is the
long version, you know with with Chaka Khan.

Speaker 5 (13:47):
I can promise you I'm not doing anything with any
zoid to Shaka Khan. Well, I mean, I'd rather do
something with a zoid to boys.

Speaker 4 (13:55):
Apology. Do you start apologizing like the first thirty second
they we'll never make it through the song. Sorry, I
love it not you there you go, Hey, at least
you're explaining it, communicate.

Speaker 5 (14:05):
But if I'm putting on Chaka Khan when I'm trying
to serenade somebody with your canoodle.

Speaker 4 (14:11):
No, you don't doodle all right when you're making No,
you don't do that. What happened if.

Speaker 7 (14:18):
I am it's not the Shaka con.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
You're not zoid now to Chaka Khan. No, that's what
we're just gonna call it zoid now. No, and that's
no disrespect to Shaka Khan. That just it's not happened.
What if if it was Rufus thinking it, would you
zoid out?

Speaker 5 (14:30):
I don't even know who Rufous is outside of probably
somebody's dog.

Speaker 4 (14:34):
Well, that's got to be racist, triple.

Speaker 7 (14:36):
He's talking to.

Speaker 4 (14:38):
Got to be racist Chaka Khan. So you're not doing
you're not making love to Chaka Khan.

Speaker 5 (14:44):
No, not to herb but to her cut absolutely not No,
I go, but you know them zoids.

Speaker 4 (14:52):
Many want to what happened if the zoid nos I
love Chaka Khan? Get out? You're gone, get out?

Speaker 7 (14:58):
Really?

Speaker 4 (14:58):
Yeah? Or a new rood. I'm going home.

Speaker 5 (15:01):
Wow, that's your crib not oh yeah your cribo?

Speaker 4 (15:05):
Yeah, I got I walk in to a What if
you Justid's house and she's got choco Chaka con on.
What if you decided, what if you decide you're gonna go, uh,
maybe somebody a little older, maybe like in their sixties,
just so you decide you're gonna just see how you

(15:25):
hold up with a little bit of experience. And you
walk into your sixty four year old zoid's crib and
she's got Chaka Khan blowing in the you know, on
the on the speakers.

Speaker 7 (15:37):
Huh and two questions?

Speaker 4 (15:40):
What I got?

Speaker 7 (15:41):
Two questions?

Speaker 4 (15:42):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (15:42):
Are candles lit?

Speaker 4 (15:43):
Yes?

Speaker 8 (15:43):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (15:44):
Okay? Yeah? And it's a bottle of red wine out
white wine spritzer. She's got a sprinzer for you out.
She's got lost whiskey for her. You got spritzer for you.
So and she says, she says, you got no shot
at this at the title? Yeah, no shot at the title. Okay,
I mean, what are you doing with sixty four? That's

(16:05):
what she says to you. And she kind of takes
her her hands and points to the whole packaged she's
built built nice. Oh yeah, she's like a brick house. Okay, okay,
Oh yeah, I mean no brick house, meaning she's a
brick right, Oh yeah, I means she's stacked right right right, okay,
and you're afraid you can't bring it. So your excuse is, yeah,

(16:27):
a little under the weather. You lay that one, are you?
And you do you eat the meal and leaf? I'm
talking about the meal and right right? Yeah, the food, yeah,
the food.

Speaker 9 (16:34):
Right.

Speaker 4 (16:35):
I don't think that you want any part of sixty plus.
If you decided to go, which would you then go
shot con if that was the only way you get
to you get the can noodle.

Speaker 5 (16:42):
No, you're you're really I'm out. I'm not canoodling either.

Speaker 4 (16:48):
Now you miss out on sixty four. Sixty four, let's
see double let's go double your age? What's that? Sixty nine,
seventy seventy. They need love to don't hate. I think
you're scared. That's what I think. Little too little, too
much experience for you. Uh huh maybe, and.

Speaker 5 (17:06):
Now you've just disrespected Shaka Khan. Maybe just the choice
of music is all the time.

Speaker 4 (17:11):
I mean you like, if she said Billy Ray Cyrus banging,
would you you wouldn't? Yeah, you break your heart and
you sign and she says, well, let's I want to
see you do the dance the achy breaking heart will
do it?

Speaker 7 (17:21):
Right right for her. Now you're in, but you're going
to deny shot.

Speaker 5 (17:25):
Because what I do know is that that woman would
do everything like meals.

Speaker 4 (17:31):
Where you put your thumbs in your like right in
your in the front of your like in the jeans
the cowboys, Yeah right there, Oh yeah, starting the kick. Yeah,
then don't and sing it while you're doing it.

Speaker 7 (17:42):
Oh yeah. But some really with the really pointy to no.

Speaker 4 (17:49):
Wor about one thing about those boots out for the
Yeah what it forces your five Hey, that's got to
be racist. No it's not. It's a proven my Hispanic
out of it. You ever heard of club escapade. I've
heard a club escandide next door to Stampede over. Maybe
I go over there on a Saturday night and tell

(18:10):
me that those those the boys out there are not
wearing boots. So maybe some of my Hispanic friends and
esco uh huh, all of them wore pointy toe. I always,
you know the thing for you know, people have been
wearing Cabby boots that they were four right. But I
always have laughed for guys, you know you have big fear.
I've always said, how do I take these five toes

(18:30):
and slide it into one they're so you know what
I'm saying, Especially when they're like brand new and not
worn in there it's like, oh, you're blistering the top
of your toes. You blister in the back of it,
so and around even for me, not a pointy but
even a round toe boot, not unless it's like, are
you a square toe guy?

Speaker 9 (18:47):
I have?

Speaker 7 (18:48):
I have square toe?

Speaker 5 (18:49):
And I also have you've heard of the brand Takovas
So I have like a.

Speaker 4 (18:52):
Semi circle wade. Yeah, I got boot that I wear
in the fall. But it's not like it's a brownish
tank's right, A darker the darker swade.

Speaker 7 (19:01):
Yeah, I got. I got one of those soft and
soft leather.

Speaker 4 (19:03):
All the way up right and got so back to
your zoid though, what if she said, I want you
to walk in and cowboy boots and that's it. Yeah,
and a bow tie and say, heyke you back, dude,
I'm in a wedding this weekend and I have to
wear a bow tie, suspenders.

Speaker 7 (19:17):
And no shirt underneath the suspenders like stripper.

Speaker 4 (19:22):
Maybe I'd do wood strapped like the girls do with
their overalls. I just figured I throw that it. But
I don't think you can handle Hakakhan. It's okay, dude, I.

Speaker 7 (19:29):
Don't want to handle Shaka Khan. Shaka Khan blows.

Speaker 14 (19:34):
Man.

Speaker 4 (19:34):
Callers are going to start flowing now. Anybody born pre
nineteen seventy five is gonna be all over you for that,
just to make you're scared of somebody. You're scared? A
scared diafour afraid? Yeah, you're scared? Are you afraid anybody
maybe forty year older?

Speaker 11 (19:49):
No?

Speaker 9 (19:50):
Scared?

Speaker 4 (19:50):
So I did I understand the intimidation? No triple you feel?
You feel what I'm saying? Already throw a bullet at
my and my hispanics and ESCO. Are you ever going
to join my side? I mean just once, just once, dude,
just once? Wow?

Speaker 5 (20:03):
Right there, you should have been like, you know what,
f you? Sean, Brian ain't scared it? What do they
say that movie?

Speaker 4 (20:15):
Oh my goodness.

Speaker 5 (20:16):
All right, let's get back to talking Astro Jeremy paniah
Man the defense. We got to figure that out. So
let's talk about that next right here on Sports Talks
seven ninety. But also fellas, Sean's talking about, you know,
approaching women and you want to look your best, especially
with your haircut and your beard. So you need to
head over to the Boardroom Styling Lounge twentieth anniversary right

What's happening?

Speaker 6 (21:49):
What's going on?

Speaker 8 (21:50):
Brian, my favorite play cousin, Shawn, my brother from another mother, favorite.

Speaker 4 (21:56):
Man of show.

Speaker 8 (21:58):
Hey, Hey, Briant, totally agree with you.

Speaker 9 (22:01):
Man.

Speaker 8 (22:01):
You know, I'm a diehard Strolls fan.

Speaker 9 (22:04):
I love the Strokes.

Speaker 8 (22:05):
I love everything about the Strolls, But just Bagwell in
the in the in the odd thing, I can't take
it in the I can't take it now. Robert and
Steed for me all day, you know.

Speaker 11 (22:15):
So you know I remember a low.

Speaker 8 (22:17):
Past, you know, and you know that That's why I
think I try not to even think about Bagwell because
sometimes he states the obvious and it's kind of like
condescending a little bit to people who really don't know baseball,
and it's like, you stayed in the obvious, man, I
really don't like that.

Speaker 9 (22:36):
That's what I think about you, Sean.

Speaker 8 (22:37):
I can't say people who don't know the you know,
the sport as well as you you still talk to
them like you know, you're you're you're a teacher that's
teaching in good will instead of a teacher that's condescending.
So h, I appreciate that. Hey man, uh Shaka Khan

(22:57):
story true things. Back in the early seventies, the artists
used to come to the record stores and you could sign,
you know, you could take your album up there and
they'll sign the album for you. And Brian I don't
know if you know, but back then, Shock was one
of the highest things on the stage, I mean, super cute, nice,
barred everything. When she was definitely a tend. So I

(23:20):
go up there with my little album, you know, and
luckily I was born with some dimples, you know, and
she loved the differs. But she signed my little album,
which made me happy. But then when she pulled me
together and she kissed me on my cheeks, Oh man,
I was in hog heaven for about two weeks till
my mother saw that I had some red stuff on me.
About two weeks later, she said, what's that on your chin?

(23:40):
I said, that's when just Shaka.

Speaker 9 (23:41):
Khan kissed me.

Speaker 8 (23:42):
She said that was wan. I said, that was Stelfs
two weeks ago. I said, yeah, mam, but I can't.
I can't. I can't bring myself to wipe it out.
She said, well, if you can't bring yourself to wipe out,
I'm gonna bring myself to beat your butt.

Speaker 9 (23:54):
So I had to go in the wife it out.

Speaker 4 (23:56):
O G Do you still have it on your face
after these years? Said saving Absolutely, that's a great story
because he's right Sha Ka Khan. Was it back in
the day, no doubt. Yes, you and she could sing.
I mean obviously you could tell by she had pipes
and everything.

Speaker 7 (24:15):
She's awesome. So that's a great story.

Speaker 8 (24:18):
I don't know, you know, but you know before she
started RB, she was a great jazz scene.

Speaker 4 (24:22):
Yeah, you know what. I I haven't heard much of
her jazz, but I do know that background about her.
But I don't know much of that part of her singing,
but I do know that was part of her background.

Speaker 8 (24:31):
Yes, sir, I mean, I'll talk about super tough.

Speaker 4 (24:34):
Yep, you are lying, my man. Always a pleasure man.

Speaker 9 (24:37):
We're gonna win it today.

Speaker 4 (24:38):
We're gonna get out there. You go.

Speaker 7 (24:41):
Thanks love his calls.

Speaker 9 (24:43):
Man.

Speaker 4 (24:44):
It got some great history in him at Alt Garan
asked he still got that album.

Speaker 7 (24:48):
Too, Oh yeah, I would.

Speaker 4 (24:50):
Two weeks later the Red Lipstick. Still that's a classic.

Speaker 7 (24:54):
Let's talk to Tom Tom.

Speaker 4 (24:56):
Good morning, Good morning guys.

Speaker 5 (24:58):
How are you today, fantas, How are you feeling about
these astros?

Speaker 4 (25:03):
Oh? Man?

Speaker 6 (25:04):
I heard last night.

Speaker 12 (25:06):
Hey, I want to give a little uh, a little
half the glass and past bull And here's what I
got to say about arro Daty. You know, he would
still sink seven and the third no hit ball, and
then he picked a hell of a game against the
Orioles too, So I'll give him the benefit of the doubts.
And I'm gonna I'm gonna circle back to Jeremy Kayyer

(25:26):
with this comment about arrogating. You know, we got to
see what he does when he gets on the bump
in his next ball. I think he'll bounce back. I
think he's got that mentality. Pitcher's better had it. I
once heard Derek Jeter give an interview and he said
something very interesting. He said he couldn't speak to anything
but what he does in his preparations. And he said,

(25:49):
when I'm on the field, I want every ball hits
to me.

Speaker 6 (25:53):
Now.

Speaker 12 (25:53):
Right now, it looks like Jeremy Payner doesn't want anything
hit for him, so I hope he can get out
of that if the guy proven that he can pick it. Now,
the astros man, you're five and a half out. Let's
not let's not fall asleep here, guys, keep your eyes
on the prize. We got three games with the Mariners.

(26:13):
Don't let them free pucks, you know, when out out
of the woods. Yet, as much as I've said they're
playing great and the things they've done, let's not fall asleep.
I think they'll come back today and put a hurting
on the Red. At least I'm hoping they do. Maybe
they'll they'll.

Speaker 6 (26:30):
Win a close game like they did with the Phillies
on that getaway game.

Speaker 12 (26:34):
But that's what I'm looking for, a bounce back, you know,
Jeremy Tanyer want them to hit the ball to you, bro.

Speaker 6 (26:41):
You know, I play a little goal and there's some plenty.

Speaker 12 (26:44):
Of holes that I've gone from Fred Couples to Fred Quintton.

Speaker 6 (26:49):
He'll be back. I'm not worried.

Speaker 12 (26:52):
Hey, sean great interview yesterday with Dana Brown. I didn't
I didn't. I didn't buy a lot of it. But
I know you got a great relationship with these guys,
and I'm not going to ask you to, you know,
you know, say anything that that that's jeopardized his dad.

Speaker 6 (27:07):
You respect them, you know what it is. But it
was a great interview.

Speaker 4 (27:11):
Thank you.

Speaker 12 (27:11):
So hey, you got to give you You're welcome. You
got to give it the Dana Brown and he was good.
He put it on there. I like the way he said,
we you know, we did this.

Speaker 6 (27:21):
We did.

Speaker 12 (27:22):
He didn't say anything about doctors, like he didn't throw
no doctor under the bucks.

Speaker 15 (27:27):
You know.

Speaker 6 (27:28):
I like that. So we just got to keep keep
an eye.

Speaker 12 (27:32):
On the marinders, you know, if they're going to be
hanging around, let's finish them off. Have a good day, guys.
Thanks for letting me in.

Speaker 4 (27:39):
Tom great stuff man, love his energy always and five
and a half in front. It would take an epic
fold for them not to win this thing, or twenty
three games to go. That'd be tough, especially with this
team in the way, this pitching staff for the most part,
you know, SAMs. The last couple starts with Verlander and
and uh Raghetta yesterday, but they happen, and I'm with Tom.

(28:02):
At some point in time, Payne is going to get
that glove back and right, it'd be nice if it
happened right away and get back to being postseason Jeremy
Payna from two years ago.

Speaker 5 (28:10):
It'd be great, But it's right now. It's seven aeras
in the last fifteen games.

Speaker 4 (28:16):
Hard to do.

Speaker 7 (28:17):
Some say he may not make seven airs in seventy games. Yeah,
eighteen total this season.

Speaker 4 (28:21):
So but Tom makes a very valid points, and you know, listen,
I'll hammer, you know, as hard as I can on
when I'm interviewing somebody to get stuff out of.

Speaker 7 (28:30):
But there also comes a point.

Speaker 4 (28:31):
I mean, how many different times can he tell us
about you know, Kyle Tucker's you know, from the fracture
to the thing, and their responsibility is more to me
and you or more to their own team.

Speaker 7 (28:43):
Sure, yeah, so I get it.

Speaker 4 (28:44):
But as he said yesterday, we didn't go they didn't
go in with the imaging from behind until later on,
and we just you know, feled. It was far worse
than a bone bruce for two of those months or
two and a half of those months, right.

Speaker 5 (28:54):
How about that explanation? Though, pretty good man talking about
deep bone on the front swelling came down still like
a deep bone bruise. Oh, By the way, let's look
at the.

Speaker 4 (29:04):
Back fracture on the back of the imaging right on
the back of the bone.

Speaker 5 (29:08):
Don't you think you should get imaging on the whole bone?
Seems logic front and backside. Hey, you know when you
you know when you're getting an X ray. Like the
first time I ever went to a chiropractor to start
like a program, they took imaging of the front of
my spine, the side of my spine, every angle you know.
And I'm just a I'm just a basic ass white dude.

(29:29):
I'm not a professional athlete. But hey, I you know
who's counting. Why are we not imaging the back of
the leg?

Speaker 4 (29:36):
I have no idea? Well, the same thing you asked,
why aren't we getting from We're getting imaging on his
shoulder when it happened, right, am, A right, I'm not
giving you the choice. We're doing that. Yeah, but with
this we're at we're at the point out neither here
nor there.

Speaker 7 (29:49):
You know what it is? Yeah, now moving forward?

Speaker 4 (29:51):
How do you do it? Here's what you have to
go in as a fan in any of us, You're
not going to get everything you want to get. For
the most part. About injuries, yeah, you're just not but frustrating.
I get okay, I asked you say I'm not protecting that. Listen,
I want to, I know I want more to. But
do we really when people say, oh, they're lying, and

(30:13):
that toe us to not come and clean transparency. No, there,
you're probably right. But what if Kyle Tucker said I
don't want to let's not discuss this out shoes, should
he still discuss it?

Speaker 8 (30:23):
No?

Speaker 5 (30:23):
If he if the player's saying it the know right
and which he didn't take any interviews on the injury
for like up until last week.

Speaker 7 (30:30):
There you go. So whatever it is, Listen.

Speaker 4 (30:33):
I think at times when it comes to injuries, that's
a slippery slope because you don't want to overload your
mouth with your ass if you're speaking on behalf of
the player of the team. But you also want to
make sure the fans have at least an idea of
the process that got there. I think the biggest problem
is just tell us the process early, not late. That's
the deal.

Speaker 5 (30:49):
You know, one thing, just on that I know we're
getting ready to go to break, I'll make it real quick.
But when we hear about arm injuries and we hear
about elbow injuries. What do they always say, All, we
got some imaging done, but we're going to go back
for a second and pion, Hey we did some injury
or we did some imaging done on Kyle Tucker. It's
the deep bombers or swelling. Once the swelling some subside, subsides.
We're going in from a different angle. You know how

(31:10):
hard is that to say.

Speaker 7 (31:10):
It isn't It isn't, But I can't.

Speaker 4 (31:12):
We can't speak for what their approach isn't there me right, Well,
we trust approaches, right, That's what I said. We can't
speak meaning we can't change their approach. We can ask
all the questions we want they're going to give you
to a point you you hit your head on the
ceiling of trying to dig deep. Right. One thing about that, too,
is is the when it when it when, the when
the team approaches it, or the transparency when it doesn't

(31:35):
fit our agendas fans and media. It drives us crazy.
But they're always gonna They're always gonna err on the
side of protecting that part of it and dealing with
whatever wrath that is afterwards.

Speaker 5 (31:47):
Yeah, I just you know, you said it tons of
times and I agreed with you on it. The further
that thing went, people were starting to take in a
question is toughness level?

Speaker 7 (31:54):
And really tucker real quick, like when I blew up
my knee.

Speaker 4 (31:57):
Yeah. The imaging. That's another thing I'm not a doctor,
nor do I play one on radio. Is when they
take the imaging and they say, got to get a
second opinion. Well, if the imaging says torn labram or
the imaging says MCL tear, do I need another doctor
to read the same the same images? Though? It would
seem to me like, yeah, dude, see that, see that

(32:19):
separation between your ligament, Like when you your a c
L is shredded, I'm gonna go get a second opinion.
Oh okay, it's not quite shredded. It is ripped apart.
What are we waiting to hear? So it's just like
what that doctor is going to see it different because
he wears contacts or went to LASA, went to doctor
whits it. Yeah you know what I'm saying. So it's
always baffles me because a hamstring, I get that's a

(32:39):
little Yet the soft tissues seems harder. You blow out
your laborm or your UCL what it seems like It
could be pretty easy to see, right if you blow it,
you break at an ankle. Hey, that's a big break.
See that gap between the see the bontick out of
your skin, Bengo. Yeah, and I've had a compound fracture
and it's not pretty to look at and make your
stomach sick, especially.

Speaker 7 (32:59):
When it's on you. Not a good thing there.

Speaker 5 (33:02):
Joe Spot, how did he feel about the loss last night?
We'll hear the audio discussing next more.

Speaker 4 (33:09):
Sean Salisburg get in, strap in and write in.

Speaker 7 (33:16):
This is what Joe Spot had to say.

Speaker 16 (33:19):
You know what I thought that they were and they
were on all these pitches. You know, they just you know,
they were not fooled and and they just took some
really good swings on him. You know, that's the one
that you want to put behind you quickly and and
and get ready for your next one.

Speaker 5 (33:41):
They were definitely all all over his pitches. There's no
question about it.

Speaker 4 (33:45):
Yeah, I understand that, you know, you give coach speak
advantage to speak. Uh that was about his captain. Obviously
against they they would would he say, no fool of
no fooling though. Thanks That kid appreciates you, Joe. That
insight was off the charts. They weren't fooled. I love Joe.

(34:09):
That's a club, dude. You can't help but smile at Kachi.
They weren't fooled. I mean, you don't say nine, but
I've said, they're watching these Is this a cartoon you
don't have reminded me of?

Speaker 10 (34:22):
Did you ever?

Speaker 4 (34:23):
Have you ever seen the Bugs Bunny commercial? I mean
not commercial cartoon. I think it's one of the most
epic cartoons in any cartoon ever. Is when Bugs is
playing baseball against all the big bearded guys and it's
like strike one, strike three, strike two, one strike two,
strike three. Year right, he's pitching, playing the field. It's
him versus the that look like lumberjacks. Yes, yeah, yeah,

(34:43):
And they come to the plate and he throws a
boom hit it. I mean they're hitting around. It's just
like they're just next guy up, next guy up, next guy.
And then finally to say that they hit a ball
and it goes like maybe it was on top of
the Empire State building and makes the catch. He runs
there and jumps and makes the catch. It's felt like
the part of the career. Go go watch the cartoon.
You'll see strike one, strike three, strike two, strike three,

(35:06):
year out and they just but they get guy on
first guy, they just keep going around the bases, around
the base. I felt like I was watching a Bugs
Bunny commercial against the gas House gang and all those
big lumberjack beard old school guys hammering bugs money. That's
what it was like yesterday. What do you like to
call Spencer air Getty? What do you call though?

Speaker 7 (35:23):
A lot of people call him Arengetty? Do you see
an n in there?

Speaker 4 (35:26):
I do not know?

Speaker 5 (35:27):
Huh call him areng Getty though, Spencer Arengetti there?

Speaker 4 (35:32):
I love it? Yeah, you know what? Era throw the
worst one out, He'll he'll never have another seven run
and all nine of them because he wasn't her responsible
for these charged with the other two nine. He'll never
have another inning in his life. I'm gonna go out
on a limb. It's really not that big a limb,
because very few had nine runs in the first inning.

(35:56):
He'll never do that.

Speaker 5 (35:57):
Again in his career unless he's uh Alec what's his name,
Alec Manoa?

Speaker 7 (36:02):
Remember Alec Manoa?

Speaker 4 (36:03):
Yeah, speaking of a Bugs Bunny cartoon that couldn't get
anybody out at times.

Speaker 7 (36:08):
Yeah, his fall off needs to be studied.

Speaker 4 (36:10):
Unbelievable. He's a test case of what happened. Wow, yeah,
dude was an all star. Yeah, chalk this one up.
As you look for the no ceiling and where's the floor.
This was raicet. You go back and look at this
and say, hopefully, let's learn that never again.

Speaker 5 (36:27):
Two thirds of an inning, six HiT's, nine run, all
of them earned three walks, no case giving up a bomb.

Speaker 7 (36:33):
He threw thirty eight pitches.

Speaker 4 (36:35):
Tough, sludden.

Speaker 7 (36:38):
Yeah, at this point you just uh you uh may
not even want to.

Speaker 4 (36:42):
Yeah, you can't grind that much over this. I mean,
what happens, that's right, I mean not very often, but
it does happen. Big leaguers are going to hit. Yeah,
they are, especially when it's in the white area.

Speaker 7 (36:53):
Yeah yeah, I mean he got barreled.

Speaker 5 (36:56):
Just it's just not good man, yep, now not good yikes.
And then you had bag one on the booth too,
So that was just great night.

Speaker 9 (37:05):
Whoa.

Speaker 5 (37:06):
Still his name's trending this morning, still sling on Bagwell.
I was going through some of the comments. A lot
of fans don't like listening to them. That's why you
listen to seven ninety. Yep, your home Thrashers of Baseball,
Robert Ford and Steve Sparks. All right, let's get into
the seven o'clock hour. Let's look at this division plus
coming up. We got the Steak out coming up at
seven fifteen, and we've got tons of NFL stuff to

(37:29):
get into the Chiefs and the Ravens. Tonight, we got
to go through our predictions for the Texans, predictions for
the entire league, Super Bowl winners, Award winners. We got
tons of football to get into. Uh, let's look at
this division race for the Astros and then we'll get
into a lot of football talk right here on Sports
Talk seven niney Before we get to that, let me
tell you about my good friends over at Evoke Roofing

Speaker 1 (39:21):
Salisbury, Salbury, Houston. Okay, let's do this.

Speaker 2 (39:28):
Sean Salisbury to USC Troupe, longtime friend, Shawn Salisbury.

Speaker 3 (39:34):
Ryanl Lima, go Lobos. This is the Sean Salisbury Show.

Speaker 4 (39:41):
Rob good morning, Good morning guys.

Speaker 6 (39:44):
Can you hear me?

Speaker 7 (39:45):
Okay, yeah, we got you.

Speaker 17 (39:47):
All right.

Speaker 18 (39:48):
Uh, you know, last night was just every now and
then you have one of those games where it's like
after that first inning, second and turn inning, when it's
looking the way it is, you just kind of got
to put your hands up and say, it's just gonna
be one of those nights and nothing.

Speaker 11 (40:03):
Seems to go our way. The pitches aren't going our way,
the coals aren't going our way, the balls aren't even
bouncing our way.

Speaker 19 (40:08):
It doesn't seem like, you know, and that's why I'd rather,
I would almost rather take a loss like that where
you can just chalk it up to where I don't
know what's going wrong. I don't know what's going on,
but it's clear that tonight is not gonna go our night,
rather than have a heartbreaker. But you know, in true
Astro's fashion, we go and sweep the playoff contending team

(40:29):
and then go and find a.

Speaker 20 (40:30):
Way to completely fumble against a team that's doesn't really
seem to be going anywhere.

Speaker 6 (40:37):
The only thing that I could have enjoyed more that
would have made last.

Speaker 20 (40:40):
Night enjoyable, I think would have been seeing Mauricio Dubond
come into Peach. I want to see that man playing
all nine positions in the one season.

Speaker 11 (40:47):
I think that would have made it at least a little.

Speaker 20 (40:50):
Bit more entertaining, because as far as actually watching the game,
there wasn't a whole lot to be entertained with on
our side of the Stays. But you know, happy for
On Singleton up in his career high. I know a
lot of people aren't happy with him and him in
our first baseman, but.

Speaker 4 (41:06):
Yeah, you can't be.

Speaker 11 (41:08):
You can't be upset about the guy he's had. He's
just a good story and seeing him in with everything
that he's been up and down through.

Speaker 9 (41:16):
Yeah, happy for John.

Speaker 20 (41:19):
And I wanted to ask you guys gonna spend too
much time on the Astros because let's just be realistic,
there's not a whole lot to talk.

Speaker 11 (41:24):
About with him right now.

Speaker 20 (41:27):
But I was wondering if you got some the QB
rankings come out yesterday.

Speaker 7 (41:33):
Who what media outlet put that out?

Speaker 11 (41:37):
NFL.

Speaker 9 (41:38):
I'm not.

Speaker 11 (41:40):
But he was out on the NFL.

Speaker 7 (41:43):
Okay, I did not see that, but we'll we'll have
to get that up.

Speaker 11 (41:47):
It was and he guesses on where they where. You
don't think they dropped.

Speaker 4 (41:51):
In stround number six. I'm gonna save uh top five.

Speaker 11 (42:00):
He did make top five. He came in at number four.

Speaker 4 (42:02):
There you go. Wow, so base for him. I'm assuming
that the guys in front of him were Mahomes maybe
Buru Burrow.

Speaker 11 (42:15):
Burrow did not come in in top.

Speaker 4 (42:16):
Okay, so he was the right. And then they got
Lamar Jackson in there, correct, yep, and Josh Allen.

Speaker 11 (42:24):
You got it. You got your big three.

Speaker 20 (42:26):
And then they did the writer even and again I
can't remember which rider it was.

Speaker 11 (42:30):
That they went with, but he even said it.

Speaker 20 (42:32):
He said, I'm probably gonna catch a lot of flack
for putting a second year QB in the top five,
but the man skill sets are in deniable and hopefully
there's no sophomore regression, and you know that that ends
up to hold true. And those are the three you're
gonna put in front of them. You can't really argue
with that either. The Texans ended up in the top
ten themselves, and they're they're looking looked at as one

(42:53):
of the guys that could potentially knocked the Chiefs off
their pedestal.

Speaker 11 (42:57):
I just want to hear yours takes on that, and
I let you guys take it from me.

Speaker 4 (43:00):
Thanks Rob, I appreciate you, brother. Yeah, they're there. I'll
tell you what the expectations are through the roof. I
cannot remember even when Watson was here at his best
and they got got beat in the by the Chiefs.
Do you do you remember a time when the expectations
have been higher going into a season. Excuse me, going

(43:20):
into a season, I say, who's better. I'm talking about
the expectations, the buzz in your mind from think about
a year ago. At this time, you're a three win
team heading into a season, not having any idea within
a year. You're now sitting here and the expectations are
as higher around the league as anybody. They're the Detroit
Lions from two years ago. That's how people are talking,

(43:43):
and even more so because the rookie quarterback came on
the scene. The expectations since I've lived in this town
for eleven years, never been higher never.

Speaker 7 (43:52):
We'll see how that plays out. Stuck Roger sating Roger.

Speaker 9 (43:56):
What's going on?

Speaker 10 (43:57):
Fellas a baseball guds or not?

Speaker 21 (43:59):
With out a sense of humor, handsy yesterday's pitching performance
by by Eric Getty. I definitely I'll bet you whatever
that will never happen again. I know this kid's gonna
bounce back. I think it's just just anomenally that have
happened and everybody needs just he needs to relax. However,
let's talk about Bagwell and that and that broadcasting vibe. Brother,

(44:22):
I've never missed Blumber so much these past couple of uh,
these past couple of games, because I mean, I love
Bagwell's he helped grow this astro brand. No doubt all
his accolades are not without praise, my brother. I think
you need to stick to your laying, my friend. I
know you've got a lot of stories, but you need
to stick to coaching. Brother, God, I just think that

(44:43):
that player development.

Speaker 4 (44:45):
Hey, Roger, you know the say you want to know
the safest uh end game analyst job in all the
sports Jeff Jeff Blum.

Speaker 11 (44:56):
Yeah, no, yeah, no doubt.

Speaker 4 (44:58):
Blumber's got the Blummer's got the safe, a secure gig
on the planet. You ain't moving him out of there
for that. Sorry. Ok that's a disrespect of guy's career.
But some guys are good at some things and some
are good at the other. Put it this way. Put
it this way. The distance between Bagwell and most players
maybe is a is a very big There's a big gap.

(45:20):
The distance between Blumber and it is a big gap. Okay,
it's a big gap with that TV stuff. So but
that's okay, And uh, I just I just Blumbers. Blumber's
got a good gig and he's in no danger of
losing it. Okay, no doubt. Hashtag pay the band, great

(45:43):
call Roger good stuff man. Yeah, the baseball guys, do
you have a sense of humor? It's not very funny
when you're going through it as an astro. But the
key thing is you got to blow that out immediately
and get back to a day game Today't gonna take
care of your business? Yeah? And uh, are you living
on business? I stand on stand up, but you live
on it? No, I stand on it, just standing But
if you what's the difference what the kids saying? You

(46:04):
can stand on it, but if you stand on it.
Could that be temporary? You got to live on it?
Or you gonna stand just stand stand, stand, stand on
and you're there all the time. So that's that's how
we're doing this. Okay, just wonder what the kids are saying. Yeah,
you standing on business, stand on being a part bro.

Speaker 7 (46:19):
See I hear you go. Yeah, be easy because yeah.

Speaker 4 (46:24):
My pocket what you say? My pocket?

Speaker 5 (46:26):
My pockets ain't empty because we ain't hungry, no more
home gry love it. Yeah, has that new Fast and
Fears come out yet? Like number ten eleven?

Speaker 4 (46:35):
What is it? What they they're they're doing a new one.
They're they're actually doing all of it in space this time.

Speaker 5 (46:41):
Oh they are. That's right. And all the characters are
coming back with jet packs. That's right, all the characters
coming back.

Speaker 7 (46:47):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (46:47):
Yeah, I was how are all the yeah everyone yeah, yeah,
huh yeah no, and they really are. I'm not kidding.
Well one character is not coming back. Well they're going
to make them come back somehow with like a I
stay I probably Yeah, it's okay if it works. So
if I'm not mistaken, I mean, what other movie?

Speaker 7 (47:09):
What what other uh?

Speaker 4 (47:12):
You know? The movie group can actually fly a card
of the moon to outer space and actually keep you
interested in the show.

Speaker 5 (47:21):
I think the Rock's coming back for this one too, Yeah,
Jason Momoa's no, he was just in it.

Speaker 7 (47:28):
Have the Rock and uh the next one you don't
have the Rock?

Speaker 4 (47:32):
And family have they made up? I don't that what
they they They were having beef.

Speaker 10 (47:39):
They were having beef.

Speaker 4 (47:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (47:42):
Fast eleven will be released in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 4 (47:45):
Who wins the fight? Rock or.

Speaker 5 (47:48):
Family the Rock or so his name is Hobbes. Oh
well no, it's Don Touretto and Hobbes. Yeah, Shaw, Hobbs,
it's Hobbs, the Rock. Hobbs or dumped right in real
life in a bar they squared down. Don't always say

(48:08):
the bigger guy is gonna win. Sometimes a little elusive guy,
it's the rock. Rock just gets him in his grip.
Oh yeah, strongholds him right.

Speaker 4 (48:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (48:15):
But when you think he's down, he's choking him out.

Speaker 4 (48:17):
Do you think he says, hey, man, let me go
Rock Family were family, Yeah, I'll till you get out
of it. And he's like, give me a Corona family
because we're family. Stop choking me. I can't drink my
Corona Family don't drink a corona. Then drink my energy drink?
What's his energy drink? Oh it's uh rain, No, it's not.
I can see it. It's starts with a V, doesn't it?

(48:39):
The Rocks energy drink zoa. Yeah. Yeah. While you're drinking it,
you could taste the vitamins going into your right down,
Vitamin B, Vitamin D, vitamin see you taste it all?

Speaker 7 (48:50):
You know a thing or two about vitamin D, don't you?

Speaker 4 (48:52):
I actually do outside?

Speaker 5 (48:56):
Sure you did?

Speaker 4 (48:59):
Did you have? I? I did? But he said, hey,
shaul I you know after all the these DUTs, I
said them. Indeed, what do you mean to do that?
What do you mean by I got you?

Speaker 9 (49:12):
Though?

Speaker 10 (49:12):
Dog sor right?

Speaker 4 (49:13):
But you wouldn't do that, you know why?

Speaker 5 (49:15):
Yeah, family, I hope you're ready because pretty much from
here on out, as we head to the stake out,
it's going to be all football.

Speaker 4 (49:22):
Okay with that, and guess what we're breaking out on Monday?
Executive decision on Monday, Monday? What's Monday? The wrath is back?
You bringing it back?

Speaker 10 (49:32):
Yep?

Speaker 7 (49:32):
Daily seven thirty? You sure guaranteed?

Speaker 4 (49:35):
Okay, give you a give about ninety seconds of unleashed
unencumbered wrath, do you realize? And the wrath could be
a good wrath, but the wrath. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (49:49):
So you and I have been doing this show together
for over two years, Yes, over two years.

Speaker 7 (49:55):
I've heard one wrath and you.

Speaker 4 (49:56):
Know why, I let you let it? You let it,
you know, let it sit there and uh huh what
do we call it? And marinate? Yeah, And it's like
when you tease a movie, like tell hey man, do
you know that what's coming out in two years? Not
saying it's that in poort? But you ready?

Speaker 5 (50:11):
Hell yeah, I've been ready triple he doesn't know about
it yet. Seven thirty Monday, every seven thirty.

Speaker 4 (50:16):
Yeah, I'll give you about ninety seconds and then we'll
react to it and I'll let you get after it.

Speaker 7 (50:20):
So we go from the steak out to the wrath.

Speaker 4 (50:22):
Well, no, you know what we can let's move it
to take that back. We'll move it to eight thirty. Okay,
eight thirty. I'm good with that, yeah, because I don't
want back to back, you know that stuff. Eight thirty.

Speaker 7 (50:30):
I'm good with that wrath. Go see who can handle
the truth. I'm dude, I'm I'm unloading too, by the way,
So it's like there will be there would.

Speaker 4 (50:37):
Be no kinder to that. There will be no kinder
Jentler Sean, about time for that, man, Yeah, about time.

Speaker 7 (50:44):
If you're down, I'm kicking you. No, you're down and out.

Speaker 5 (50:47):
You're gonna be even more down now, all right, let's
get to the steak out next right here on Sports
Talk seven ninety.

Speaker 4 (50:57):
No back, This is Sean Salisbury. All right, Sean, what
are you hearing out there now?

Speaker 3 (51:06):
The Salsbury's steakout shells briefsteakout on the.

Speaker 4 (51:11):
Sean Salisbury Show. All right, real quickly before you get
into your steakout, it's timefan's seake out. Yeah, watch your
steak up. So thanks to Clay Play called in and
said well on Mondays at eight thirty, so you don't
have to change it is Steve Sparks. That's a good point.
We will do it every day at eight fifteen. The
Wrath will uh every Monday at eight fifteen. Perfect, and

(51:36):
Kinder Gentler will not be part of the second Good
film me Doc good. Yep, you're ready for it, aren't you?
I am been ready for you? See have you seen
the trailer? Oh, you've seen the trailer a few times.

Speaker 5 (51:45):
Yeah, the trailer's rock and don't come knocket look good good?

Speaker 4 (51:50):
You ready? Yeah? Are you ready?

Speaker 9 (51:52):
Yep?

Speaker 5 (51:53):
All right for the steakout? Travis Kelcey, Taylor Swift the Swifties.

Speaker 4 (52:01):
Apparently, don't be careful with the swift now, Brian now
tread lightly apparently because if they, if they and the
bay Hive get ahold of you, you're dead. You're very high.

Speaker 10 (52:10):
And the Swifties tread lightly.

Speaker 4 (52:14):
Apparently. Did you just say f the Bayhive and the
Swifties a tripley? When we leave the building today, make
sure you go out at different times on the elevator
because it's going to fall all the way to the
floor because the bay Hive's gonna be waiting on his ass.

Speaker 2 (52:28):
Ye.

Speaker 4 (52:29):
Don't get scared now, think you're afraid of the Hives?
Oh yeah? Would you say F the Swifties on serious
XM radio and an interview? Would be scared?

Speaker 10 (52:38):
Would you?

Speaker 4 (52:39):
Would you roll in the Ashville and say it bitch
ass pump leave the Swifties out of it? Kidding? You're
like jumping on the bandwa swift who wins in a fight?
Bayhive or Swifties? Because more of them? Yes, yes, that's right.
You get you, you get fifteen each. It's a full
blown bay hive. The Swifties are dead. They don't even

(53:05):
write a bull frame seconds right exactly. Oh dude, when
it gets right down to let's we're going all non
kinder jitler.

Speaker 7 (53:11):
Yeah, it's the Bayhive. Dude, come on here.

Speaker 4 (53:14):
There's not a Swifty standing after the hell the fact,
there's just a mere volume of this.

Speaker 5 (53:18):
Yeah, exactly, sure volume of fake the Swifties. Yeah, they're
taking down the Bayhive. Be careful where you're treading though. Man,
here we go.

Speaker 9 (53:24):
Huh.

Speaker 4 (53:25):
All right, so apparently Triple got your back. He's protected
you man.

Speaker 5 (53:28):
Allegedly, uh, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's relationship a sham,
fake and it's under contract. Travis Kelsey's representatives are speaking
out after a fake public relations contract claiming to be
about his relationship with Taylor Swift and plans for a
breakup surface online. The documents, titled Comprehensive Media Plan for

(53:51):
Travis Kelsey's relations Following Breakup with Taylor Swift. His PR
group said quote entirely false and fabricated. That's uh quote
that coming from a representative for full scope, that is
the company that runs PR for Kelsey.

Speaker 4 (54:06):
So your question is what do I think about this? Yeah? Okay, yes,
I always allegedly right, So I'll put an if in
front of this. Well, first off, before the if. Oh no,
if it's true, would it shock you? No, of course
it wouldn't. What's the first thing you said, or meaning
all of us when this happened. We didn't say, oh,

(54:28):
what a cute couple at first, you know, we said
what What we said is okay, let me is this
longer than Affleck and Lopez? And so that was our
first most of us went. I mean, we all going
with that negative that the saint lasting, whether it's a
an envy or whatever. Right, that's one. If it is true,
what a great plan by Kelsey. Yeah, yeah, I'm telling

(54:50):
you he's he's on more commercials than anybody I see.
The only guy on more commercials in him a shack. Now,
as good as Kelsey is, would he be on ninety
percent of these commerce if if he wasn't with Taylor
Swift right now? No, No, I'm talking about he's falling
into commercials just as all of a sudden, subway he
drops in and it's like, and he's in it just

(55:11):
for like. It's a cameo subway and Charles Barkley saying, oh,
you don't get yours and he drops the ball walks away.
Every listen, great player, no denying that, And he got
some love because great player a energetic personality. He's out there,
which is good. He knows that put it this way.
He knows how to draw attention to his brand. If
this is true, it makes perfect sense of why he

(55:33):
did it. Yeah, movies gonna be in Happy Gilmore. He's
got all he's got to guarantee you. He is as
heightened as he was. He's more popular than Mahomes is.

Speaker 13 (55:43):
Yeah, that's what Seohan. I was just finna say that
Mahomes ain't as the quarterback.

Speaker 4 (55:47):
He's not. He's the second most popular guy in the building.
I'm talking about nationally globally.

Speaker 7 (55:52):
Think about it. Think about it this way.

Speaker 5 (55:53):
Have you seen Morgan Wallen's walkouts that he does, like
his famous walkouts. Yeah, so he does these walkouts to
the to these concerts, and in each city he brings
out a local celebrity. Well, he was in Kansas City
and he had I believe it was Mahomes Travis Kelcey
and then what's the badass on defense for Chris Jones.
Chris Jones, Dude, when he he in this, I maybe

(56:16):
looking into it a little bit more.

Speaker 4 (56:18):
He was.

Speaker 5 (56:19):
He gave Patrick Mahomes just a dapt Morgan Wallen did
he hugged Travis Kelsey, dapped him up, talked to him
the majority of the time, and I'm like, dude, you
got Pat excuse me, you've got Patrick. As I hit
Puberty live on TV, live on radio. You at Patrick
Mahomes standing to your right, Morgan Walling and you're dapping
up and wanting to grab ass with Travis.

Speaker 4 (56:39):
Kelcey's think about this whatever it's called, you know your
your your the meter that they put on celebrities about
popularity and the endorsement meter they put on nationals celebrities.
His blows away the field right now, shack and one
because of and it's blown away the field in a
in nine months for the year. However it's been a

(56:59):
is that he year now? So think about it now.
He would have got some of them because he's Travis Kelsey,
good player, but it would have been doing like stuff
with Mahomes original. You know what I mean that part
of it now, I mean he jumped into a state
farm commercial. He's got both working for him, his quarterback
that wants Kelsey around, and he's got Taylor Swift but
his popularity globally. If this is true, brilliant planned by

(57:22):
him and them, and for Taylor Swift to buy into it,
she didn't actually need her awareness heightened. I mean, everybody
knows how pop but even then, you know what it
proved to people.

Speaker 7 (57:32):
Oh she's not just part of the Swift. She can
get in.

Speaker 4 (57:35):
She's football fame, and she she grabs a whole new audience,
and he grabs a whole new from twelve year olds
all the way through. Oh this pure beautiful cute relationship. Yeah, brilliant,
I mean brilliant marketing plan. And I guarant asked to
you over the course of it because of his relationship.
I'll bet you that's an extra fifty million dollars he's

(57:56):
made easy, That's what that's my point. YEA, So great
for her to play along as can we can. Can
any of us get in on this gig? Just ninety
days of it. I don't even need to kiss it,
I don't even need to just give me ninety days
back to where I'm not getting. So if all of
a sudden I show up and like Sean, where'd you
get here in fifteen commercials? Now, it's just because people
like No, it's because you've hitched your wagon to the

(58:16):
right singer and entertainer. So and he and you know what,
Like I said, he's got a bunch of personality and
all that it didn't hurt. And if he breaks up,
there'll be eight more commercials. Then she'll write a whole
new album over over the p yes breaking up, working
behind the scenes saying we got is a yeah yeah.

Speaker 5 (58:35):
So September twenty eighth is one that apparently they're gonna
break up. So twenty twenty three days from.

Speaker 4 (58:39):
Now, okay, So what if all of a sudden they
don't break up on the twentieth just to say they
see that contract was to then break up on the thirtieth, right,
So the point is, and we see this happen in
Hollywood all the time. And if you're Travis kelcey, does
she get a fighters fee?

Speaker 9 (58:55):
Oh?

Speaker 7 (58:55):
I'm sure what.

Speaker 4 (58:56):
It's twenty five percent fighters for that extra as if
she needs the point, I mean this this document plan,
if it if it's true, I don't know whether to
dap him or look at him like, how'd you do this? Yeah? Dude.

Speaker 5 (59:07):
This document basically lays out a whole blueprint for how
this is gonna go. So they're going to release an
official statement ouncing the separation on September twenty eighth, and
it says, quote three days post breakup to allow initial
media frenzy to settle and ensure clarity and quote. The
plan gives an example statement saying Kelsey's gonna do select
interviews with outlets like ESPN, Vanity Fair, and People Magazine,

(59:28):
and also includes talking points like emphasizing quote his respect
for Taylor Swift and the mutual decision to part ways.

Speaker 4 (59:36):
And you know what will happen. Then he'll go play
great football again. And you know what everybody will say, Man,
how do you get over this so quickly?

Speaker 22 (59:43):
How?

Speaker 4 (59:44):
Because he'd prepared for it for eight months. So I
don't know, but I'll tell you what I want that planol,
I'll go up a cop a feel on Morgan Wallen.
I don't really give him damn. If he needs me
to cop a feel, you can come grab my asses. Listen,
grab my ass. I'll give him a cut check I'll

(01:00:04):
got for for fifty extra million. I'm cut checking his
ass Okay, So I don't have problem but brilliant plan.

Speaker 5 (01:00:11):
So twenty three days until Travis Kelsey and Taylor Swift breakup.

Speaker 4 (01:00:15):
Well, if it was twenty one days, you could put
wouldn't say to play that again? Is it?

Speaker 10 (01:00:23):
What do he said?

Speaker 4 (01:00:24):
Did did I did? Ioke him? Did I smoke? Himusy dinan?
It's only it only takes twenty one days to break
a habit, So twenty three days it's going to be over.
So get started out. I tell you we get started out,
you'll break this era. Evans says, it takes twenty one
days to break. I'll tell you what su Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:00:42):
Taylor Swift's album, when she releases it after they break up,
is going to be a banger top off too.

Speaker 4 (01:00:47):
Oh my gosh, she's got eight of the cuts done
already on the Turf Cut album. There's no question, no question,
wait for that to come out. So plan your plan
your day accordingly. Coming up in twenty three days. It
is on the twenty eighth, which is a sad Saturday.
Go figure that Sunday game is gonna man hopefully he'll
be okay for the Sunday. I hope, so man hopefully,
and he goes out and catches fifteen balls on that Sunday.

Speaker 7 (01:01:08):
Yeahs so focused.

Speaker 4 (01:01:10):
Well, one hundred extra million dollars in a goodbye card.
You're good to go.

Speaker 11 (01:01:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:01:16):

(01:02:48):
But the Shawn Salvesbury Show continued. Whatever he's got going
on in the background is loud. To excuse me as
we get ready to uh in the eight o'clock hour.
Starting eight o'clock, we're gonna go through the entire NFL
with the season kicking off, and I we're gonna make
all of our predictions, especially with the Houston Texas, how
we think they're gonna do with their season. And of

(01:03:10):
course right here in the division, you got a big
one tonight, Sean the NFL season starting, you got to
Baltimore Ravens, you got the Kansas City Chiefs. Obviously the
Chiefs are gonna get their ring. Kickoff is at seven twenty?

Speaker 4 (01:03:25):
What real quick?

Speaker 7 (01:03:26):
What are you most excited for this NFL season?

Speaker 4 (01:03:30):
Talking to me, I'm kidding. I would say that the
thing I'm most excited for is it's been a while
since I felt like this team's out of the obvious
four or five and they're still going to be there.
Have the tenth team this for instance, when's the last
time you'd have a team like Detroit, have a team
like Detroit, uh huh as a super Bowl favorite? I

(01:03:55):
don't think forty nine Ers, Ravens, Chiefs. You know, the
same old stuff we get in a lot of sports
every year. So I am excited for the fact that
Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans. Yeah, I mean, there
really is a If I said, what's the difference the
gap between number eight and number one Chargers. Is it

(01:04:17):
really that far fetched? No? So I'm excited about that.
And you know what else I'm excited about is to
see and I know maybe this is biased because of
my position, but quarterback play, how much better can it get?
And we got three rookies that the impact that Jayden Daniels,
Caleb Williams and bow Knicks could be huge. And for
this team locally, I'm excited. I want to find out.

(01:04:38):
I want to come out of this season. If nothing,
I'll get with the Super Bowl ring for the Texans
would be great. But you know what I want to
come out of the season saying that team there as
we can team.

Speaker 7 (01:04:48):
I already know the perimeter people.

Speaker 4 (01:04:49):
I want to come out of the season saying when
you come to a fistfight and you come into the
building here or wherever they come into your building, they're
whooping your ass physically in front of your family. And
when people come here, when they walk down the tunnel
say ugh, we're in for one today, so you better
you better strap it on for a full What are
we twelve rounds in the heavyweight fight now? Not fifteen anymore?

(01:05:12):
And it's gonna be one of those ten point must
system is in effect. I know that sounds cheesy, but
the physicality locally, I know what I'm going to get
pim or to wise, I do. But across the league, dude,
we're going to have the fifteenth best quarterback in the league.
Who can win the MVP?

Speaker 7 (01:05:28):
Sounds Oh Sean, come on Caleb? Why not him?

Speaker 4 (01:05:32):
Why not Jayden nan Is? If they take a team
like like Stroud did last year and they go win
ten games, and then there's the what's Green Bay going
to be like? What are the Cowboys going to be like?
Is Burrow back? I think there's so many sidebars, but
for me, it's I don't think par for the Course
is going to happen in the Super Bowl this year.

(01:05:52):
The team's in it.

Speaker 5 (01:05:53):
You know who I'm really intrigued to see is what
the Atlanta Falcons are going to look like with it.

Speaker 9 (01:05:58):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (01:05:58):
That is one of the what you mean with Ruth
kirk Cousins. Sorry, Matt Ryan, he used to play. Yeah
kirk Cousins, Yes, I'm with you.

Speaker 9 (01:06:05):
Right.

Speaker 4 (01:06:05):
If I say two teams one in the NFC, one
in the AFC, overall that it's like I don't know
who they are. I have a good idea they'll be better,
but I'm not sure. Atlanta and the NFC that I'm
talking about playoff could win the division or get close.
And the Chargers in the AFS, what's Harbaugh's impact? Are
they going to be physical? Is Herbert superstar or just star?

(01:06:27):
So there's a lot of But for me locally, it's
when it comes out of this season, did you realize
it's like when you go play When I played against Pittsburgh,
Ryan real quick and we'll get the we'll get that.
I think we got our caller back. But when I
played against Pittsburgh, any time you played against him, regardless
of and their teams were always good. Well, one thing
I knew it wasn't all are they going to finesse
you to death? I knew when I went and played

(01:06:48):
there in their building that regardless if you won and
I won and been beat there and won there to
get to the playoffs, that I came out of that
game both starts realizing. I just I've been through a
full blown ass kicking physically. Even when you come out
of there and win, it's like okay, and you know,

(01:07:10):
and I'm telling you go play Pittsburgh this regardless you
like Russels, and when you come out of Pittsburgh, somehow,
some way, they've issued an ass whipping. So you know
going in there, which you get even if you win.
I want that to be the feeling here because if
they set that tone physically, the rest will take care
of itself. Finesse teams don't win championships. They get close once.
Even the Rams back in the day with the fast
the greatest show on turf, I can tell you this

(01:07:32):
underrated defense and they wore your ass out on the
offensive line, hints Marshall Falk. But they bandwidth was created.
They created bandwidth like like you're seeing teams do it now.
They were way ahead of the curve, right, That's what
I want to see.

Speaker 5 (01:07:43):
Yeah, I'm pretty excited with the state of the quarterback
play for the NFL. And then you got these rookies
and then oh, by the way, like another another guy
that no one's really talked about this offseason is what
the hell is Bryce Young going to look like this year?

Speaker 4 (01:07:55):
Improved offensive line, improved wide receivers, and they're no longer
a by week. They're not winning the division, but they
will be better. New coach Dave Canalis, who had great
luck with Baker Mayfield last year, re rejuvenated his career
and he also rejuvenated Geno Smith's career in Seattle, yep.
And now he's the head coach. They will be better,
as the Texans found out in that game. But I'm
telling you there'll be better. And I wouldn't expect Bryce

(01:08:17):
Young to be but he played like a rooi last year.
He'll play better because they've surrounded him with better players.
But there is a lot of questions to be asked
and answered this year, and I'm here for it. But physicality,
and like I said, if this team gets to that,
the finesse is gonna be fine. You got it. You
gotta be willing to gut punch people to win games.
Could there'll come a time when the finesse part of

(01:08:37):
a game is not Can they win a game when
Stroud's not playing great?

Speaker 10 (01:08:40):
Right?

Speaker 4 (01:08:40):
That's what I got to see.

Speaker 5 (01:08:41):
And for the Panther's sake, let's just hope that David
Tepper doesn't throw a drink on a fan again.

Speaker 7 (01:08:45):
Hopefully just sits his asking the booth.

Speaker 4 (01:08:47):
Oh if you no, yeah, just go up into your
suite and close the windows. God, yeah, just be quiet, Gosh,
sign the checks and be quiet.

Speaker 5 (01:08:54):
Let's let's stay with the quarterbacks in the NFL, and
let's look at the updated quarter wreck power rankings heading
into week one. That's next right here on sports Stock
seven eighty.

Speaker 3 (01:09:07):
Let the celebration start war Sean Salisbury on Sports Talk seven.

Speaker 4 (01:09:11):
Ninety Marvin in the background might be too well, you
may not be able to last long. Did the gallows say,
what was a problem. It's not you, It's me, and
it's Marvin right now. Yeah, it doesn't matter if it's
Shock Cohn. It doesn't matter if it's Marvin Gaye. Boys
to men, Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan so Blake Shelton.

Speaker 5 (01:09:32):
He's saying, DC, I ain't lasting long anyways, because it's
it's it's me.

Speaker 4 (01:09:38):
It's it's it's it's me. It's not you. But you'll
you'll be hell for what like forty five seconds?

Speaker 7 (01:09:43):
All right, I'll get in there.

Speaker 4 (01:09:45):
I'm a I'm an MF for about forty five seconds,
for about a minute and a half. Is Nolan Richards
said we had ninety four feet a hell? Is that
what he called her? Ninety feet a hell whatever he
thought it was Arkansas basketball. Yeah, you're gonna give him
old some hell. Now, do you tell me?

Speaker 5 (01:10:00):
Dudes are driving down the street right now saying I
feel I feel you one of the guys driving.

Speaker 4 (01:10:06):
He's driving down the street thinking, damn, I wouldn't know
what to do with the other thirty seconds you're talking
about me? Damn? Did did you have a GPS on me? Oh?

Speaker 8 (01:10:19):
Man?

Speaker 7 (01:10:19):
Seven one, three, two five A team?

Speaker 4 (01:10:22):
It didn't last long?

Speaker 11 (01:10:22):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (01:10:23):
Whoa?

Speaker 5 (01:10:24):
I'm kidding because you know I'm an Aggie, right, you
are an Aggy. That's true, Damn, Doug. He almost threw
a straight bullet at your ass when it came. You
gotta be able to be self deprecating when you get beat,
like hey, hey that's true.

Speaker 4 (01:10:35):
Hey hey real.

Speaker 5 (01:10:36):
Quick, aggie, Doug. I got a question. Did you go
to the game this past weekend? I did, so I've
seen and I've been to a couple of Aggie games,
and I know I give you a lot of flak
for being in an A and M alumni and things
like that. I I don't know why they why did
they go away from playing the song power.

Speaker 17 (01:10:55):
Because the Kanye Jewish stuff.

Speaker 5 (01:10:57):
Okay, I completely forgot about that whole thing, but they
brought it back and it is electric, man, it's electric.
Just to them to come out and have Connor Wegman
throw for barely one hundred yards, it's unbelievable.

Speaker 17 (01:11:08):
So, I mean, so guys, that past that passed, Uh,
you know, a couple of minutes before I got on
y'all need to record that for Men's Tea Clinic for sure,
because that's that's just a perfect segue into that. I
was getting ready for y'all to just drop an ad
right before y'all came to me.

Speaker 4 (01:11:23):
But that's a good point. Hey, if you're used to
lasting forty five seconds, we can extend it to a
minute thirty The.

Speaker 17 (01:11:31):
Pay sometimes sometimes, you know, just one hundred percent more,
is you know, like given two hundred percent maybe?

Speaker 4 (01:11:37):
Damn right, damn right.

Speaker 5 (01:11:39):
Head over to Men's CE Clinic min'st clinic dot com.
They can help you out. It's trying to last a
minute and a half.

Speaker 4 (01:11:44):
Hey, but it's not just sexual wellness, it's full body weilding.
True Okay, just so you know true well Tucky's fresh.

Speaker 17 (01:11:49):
Speaking of full speaking of full body wellness, that was
not a full body performance for the Aggies the other day.
I mean, I think Notre Dame's gonna end up being
a very good team. They have a damn good defense.
Uh and and again for A and M to be
where they were with as crappy as Wigman played with
eight minutes left, I mean, you could still go win

(01:12:10):
the game even after two interceptions, even after awful play
by the court. I was not impressed by the play
calling at all. Our receivers had very different had a huge,
horrible time getting open when they were just playing man
the man defense, So that worries you a little bit.
But but but again, y'all were talking about all these

(01:12:31):
young quarterbacks. That's that's the main reason I called think
about like, Okay, so you got you know, Caleb Williams,
and you got Bo Nicks, and you got the Daniels
out of out of the Washington. But bro, think about
all the talent that's coming through in the next two
to three years with the college game. I mean, there's
quarterbacks coming out the Wazoo right now. I mean, you

(01:12:54):
got the kid in Austin. Obviously, Wigman needs it needs
a lot more time before he's even or an NFL
picked much less the first rounder at this point, but
I mean there's I mean, the kid out of Tennessee
is going to be a highlight. He got obviously Klubnik
and in Clemson even though he didn't look super, it
didn't look great, but I mean you're playing Georgia, so
you know it is what it is. But I just

(01:13:16):
think there's just gonna be a ton of and also
the kid out of USC. I mean, there's just so
many young quarterbacks in Shawna. I guess this question is
for you. Do you see that specialization finally kind of
coming through because we always kind of clowned on it
a little bit, right, like, oh, just one sport or
just focusing on on on just being just one sport
guy instead of these you know, multiple sports guys. And

(01:13:37):
I think we're finally just seeing that that wave of
specialization kind of come through with just the talent.

Speaker 4 (01:13:44):
Yeah, I here's how I feel. I'd like to go
back all those names you just named. How many of
them played more than one sport in high school? Because
when you get to college, it's rare. Like Wigman's a
good baseball player, fell in love. Maybe he at some
point will try it one year if things go well
this football seat and say, okay, I don't have to
go win a job in spring training. Let me, I
can go play baseball on a great Aggie baseball team.

(01:14:05):
So maybe, but a specialization I don't think for me.
Specialization is how much time you put in and how
much time you take off. Doesn't mean you only play
one sport. So in college the decision eventually gets made
for you, right your three sport athlete. In high school
you want to play both. Sometimes you're just not going
to get that chance, especially with the specialization and the
focus and the year round part of the mental, emotional

(01:14:27):
and physical side of playing quarterback, because of all the
things you got to do. But I still I don't
need a quarterback throwing twelve months a year, my man
for me, and I really would Moss. And of these guys,
how many of them?

Speaker 21 (01:14:39):
C J.

Speaker 4 (01:14:39):
Stroud played hoops. But yes, it's starting to funnel down
to where a guy instead of risking it, and with
the nil money now high school nil money, you're like,
maybe I'll just focus on my sport. I'll go watch
basketball or baseball or golf or what have you. I
do think there's more of it and I think sadly
more coaches are demanding you play one sport, which doesn't
sit well with me. But I think they're getting enough

(01:15:01):
reps in eight months or nine months. They used to
be getting made up for the reps that you the
lack of reps you used to get. So, but the
focus and the personal training. I never had a private
quarterback lesson in my life, so I was busy playing
three sports. Now they all do. They got a nutritionist,
they got guys who are cutting their highlights, all of them,
which is a good thing. But they're far more advanced
because why they're starting earlier and getting more attention to

(01:15:24):
detail and the mechanics part of it. So I hope
that playing more than one sport it'll made for you.
I encourage them to play more. But when you're focused
on that sport, you got to dive in man, you
have to.

Speaker 17 (01:15:35):
I mean, do you think also the technology obviously that
you have in place. Yeah, that's another huge thing. I mean,
just think about it. Just the evolution of video games
from when we started playing video games and now, I
mean Douglas mad Yeah, we hadn't looked like a freaking
NFL game.

Speaker 4 (01:15:52):
We used to laugh, we used to laugh at that.
I'm telling you now I've actually gone to a kid's
house to talk to watch coverage, to talk coverages him.
And you know what we watched. We'd watch cover two
on Madden stop it and break it down and start
to you know, you start to identify who the mic
is and what this guy's assignment is on defense. And

(01:16:14):
Madden has become a teacher, and these kids see it
all the time, and the more you watch it, those
reps get into your head. So it's sitting in here's
what they do on cover two. Here's what they do
on cover two. So yeah, and technology and think about this.
Real quick story before we go is I'm on a
field training a guy a couple of years ago and
really good player, and I text Leach, who wanted to
see He wanted to hear about him and talk about him.

(01:16:37):
I said, what do you want to see? This is
I'm talking about? This is during warm up on the field,
I texted Michael Leach. God rest is So I said, Mike,
what do you want to see from the guy? He
sent me a list of routes and what he wanted
to see and what he wanted specifically for each route.
We did a holt of an hour practice. I put
fifteen plays on video and send him back to him
about the last ten minutes of practice. By the time

(01:16:59):
practice was over, Mike Leach had watched and gave me
an evaluation.

Speaker 7 (01:17:03):
In fifteen minutes.

Speaker 4 (01:17:06):
And that's it was.

Speaker 6 (01:17:07):
It was.

Speaker 4 (01:17:07):
It was real time instead of hey, let me send
you this tape. So yes, you not only get the evaluation,
but what to work on, like I mean in a
New York minute. So yes, technology is taking it to
a whole nother level. I just get cautious sometimes with
coaches teaching gimmicks. I see too many gimmicks on a
football field or in some of these gimmicks. Make sure

(01:17:28):
it's your sport related, which is only going to help
the guy on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Speaker 7 (01:17:32):
But good point, Doug, thank you man.

Speaker 17 (01:17:34):
A good thing is that how you used to have
McBee state this week, So you know, obviously that's that's
a team to.

Speaker 7 (01:17:40):
Get well on you ain't lyon, and they will get
well appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (01:17:44):
Boy, be good. Thanks buddy.

Speaker 23 (01:17:45):
There.

Speaker 5 (01:17:45):
Let's get into the eight o'clock hour and we're going
to make some predictions for the Houston Texans football season
is back.

Speaker 4 (01:17:52):
Let's go.

Speaker 3 (01:17:54):
KD Houston, KTDHD two Houston Whart radio stations.

Speaker 4 (01:17:58):
How about the masks a rocket.

Speaker 3 (01:18:03):
This is Sports Talk seven ninety your home for your
home teams, driven by that classic elite to viewing GMC
studios for the elite car buying the experience.

Speaker 1 (01:18:16):
Saulisbury, Oby, Okay, let's do this.

Speaker 2 (01:18:23):
Sewan Salisbury to usc Truth, longtime friend Shawn Salisbury.

Speaker 4 (01:18:29):
Ryan Lima, go Lobos.

Speaker 3 (01:18:31):
This is the Sewan Salisbury Show.

Speaker 7 (01:18:36):
Are you ready?

Speaker 4 (01:18:37):
Sean? Yeah? Yeah, who really cares about?

Speaker 21 (01:18:43):
No?

Speaker 4 (01:18:43):
Of course I'm ready? You kidding me? Why would you?

Speaker 7 (01:18:47):
Isn't that like a redundant question?

Speaker 4 (01:18:49):
Is it redundant? You? What do you think? You think?
Are you the question? Are you ready? I think you
might be a little scared going in. You might pand
r to you probably got him winning the Super Bowl?
Who Texans? Sure don't?

Speaker 5 (01:19:00):
Whoa I got I'm going and I got him going
pretty deep in the playoffs, super Bowl.

Speaker 7 (01:19:06):
Super Bowl or bust. Yeah, I'm excited.

Speaker 4 (01:19:09):
Come on, man, I just don't want to, you know,
they say, hey, man, save some of your energy as
far as like exploding through you know what I'm oozing
out of every poor my my, oozing out of every
poor my energy. Yeah, with energy for the NFL season. Yeah,

(01:19:29):
year is here, We're in it. We've got playoff baseball
on the horizon. Yep.

Speaker 5 (01:19:35):
College has already started. NFL kicks off tonight. I mean,
next thing, you know, it's gonna be Christmas. That's how
fast the fall flies. I would agree, bye oh yeah,
and so enjoy. It's gonna be one hell of a run.
We're in for a great fall College n NFL. But
I like this debut.

Speaker 4 (01:19:52):
I'm still trying to do you like the Thursday night
kind of tea off football or would you rather have
it start on Sunday?

Speaker 5 (01:19:59):
I would like it if it wasn't on Amazon, right,
but but oh wait, no, tonight's on NBC.

Speaker 7 (01:20:05):
It's not on Amazon.

Speaker 4 (01:20:06):
No, this is the main game here. Thursday and entering
the regular season are different. This is like the opener
that you get on I missed the regular and is
it the NBC crew?

Speaker 7 (01:20:17):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:20:18):
Who is he?

Speaker 7 (01:20:18):
Who is the regular NBC crew?

Speaker 11 (01:20:19):
Now?

Speaker 4 (01:20:20):
This is what Rico calling the game?

Speaker 9 (01:20:21):
I know?

Speaker 4 (01:20:22):
Is that the pregame stuff? Al Michaels is He's on Amazon?

Speaker 7 (01:20:26):
Okay, Yeah, so starting next week to go.

Speaker 5 (01:20:28):
To Collinsworth and and Mike Trico. Yeah, joy, what's wrong
with that? I know, Mike Rico is one of the
best of dude. I just I don't like him as
a play by play.

Speaker 4 (01:20:37):
Games okay for NFL, but he's so solid, ude, I know,
so such a pro. So yeah, I'm excited for it.
And we had a hell of a game tonight and
I actually will alway. Is it a must win game?
You know how I feel you want to winning them
all matters the psychological aspect for the Ravens to get
by the Chiefs.

Speaker 7 (01:20:53):
I think it's huge to start off this team.

Speaker 4 (01:20:55):
I do. Now the Ravens are still a playoff team
and all that, but they're not in a hacked division. No,
the best the worst team in the division could win
nine games this year. Yeah, and you've got Burle coming back, Kelthy.
Their big expectations in Cleveland and and with you know,
with the Lamar and Ada and Derrick Henry that they
had their expectations. But the fact that we still got

(01:21:16):
the best in the business playing quarterback and a two
time MVP that just can't quite get by these Kansas
City Chiefs. I think psychologically, this is a huge.

Speaker 7 (01:21:23):
Game for the Baltimore Ravens.

Speaker 5 (01:21:25):
I do like it on Thursday nights though, like the
standalone Yeah, yeah, I'm okay with it too, especially you're
giving me this matchup's what's that?

Speaker 4 (01:21:33):
And then it doesn't take the way to distraction. On Sundays,
you're watching five games, right, but this is you're focused
on one game and what a way to tee it up.
The Raining m v P against the Raining Goat. We
got one hell of a match. It's the other stuff. Oh,
how's Derrick Henry? How many touches he going to get?
The Kansasity Chiefs. Are they more explosive offensively this year?
How are you going to stop? If if it's me,

(01:21:55):
Kyle Hamilton, mall's Kelsey the entire game. I'm not letting Kels.
And if I go to the line as if I
turn this game on tonight, and when I do, if
I turn it on and see an eight yard ten
yard cushion by the Baltimore Ravens with Kelsey at the
line of scrimmage, I'm going to blow a gas. Yeah,
I'm gonna literally my head's gonna explode thinking about why

(01:22:18):
are you giving him a free run. Now, I'll tell
you who may be more equipped than any safety in
this league to handle him, because he's rangy long, got length, physical,
and a ball hawk. And you play his zone. But
if you did play man, forget the linebacker because he's
too quick for lineman. You bring Kyle Hamilton out of
the secondary, and you say, that guy there gets no run.

(01:22:41):
Take away, Kelsey. Thanks change for the Chiefs. As long
as you're not giving him the short field. I'm anxious
to see how they defend him. And are you going
to pressure Mahomes? You're gonna be multiple? Are you going
to say I'll give you every underneath throw you want.
You're not getting home runs off me tonight.

Speaker 5 (01:22:55):
The kid that I'm really excited to see, just from
a pure football standpoint for the Chiefs is Xavier Worthy,
the wide receiver out of Texas and his burst, do
his quick step, just to add that weapon to Patrick Mahomes.
That's who I'm looking looking forward to seeing. Here's what
they played at Texas Center. I hope they get their asking.

Speaker 4 (01:23:14):
Here's another promise that I can make you, whether it
works at some point in this game tonight, Xavier Worthy
is going to have Andy Reid dial up something that
allows him to to try and put him in space
to get the ball on the run, to see what
that looks like somehow tonight, whether it's a gimmick shot,
not a game, but you know, one of those okie dokes,

(01:23:35):
or just straight out, let's get this guy the ball
and the let's let's be multiformation him to death and
see if we can create a man a man or
spacing thing for him and get him the ball in
space and allow that speed to work. They haven't had
a guy like this speed wise since Tyreek Hill. And
in a straight race, I'm not sure right now who
wins that one. Probably the young fella, yeah, probably, but

(01:23:57):
he'll be close. Right. Yeah, So this is the speed
they've had since Tyreek Hill left. And he's going, can
you imagine know if you're aver Worthy saying you got
the look of the draw? Yeah, you just got drafted
by the freaking Chiefs and Andy Reid's play calling. And oh,
by the way, Patrick Mahomes is your quarterback. That's exactly so, yeah,
we got, we got. If you were betting you you'd

(01:24:19):
be you wouldn't get very good odds for your money.
But you could bet that this is the AFC Championship
game and you'd get a lot of people supporting it.

Speaker 5 (01:24:25):
Kansas City favored by three right now, just probably because
it's a home games.

Speaker 4 (01:24:30):
Well that's exactly what it is. But you'd still favor
the hell if you were going into Baltimore would be
like probably one and a half points for for Kansas.
Kanas City still be favored. I believe in the game
the Goddess where they played it just be different. Over
Under said at forty seven and a half, it's bad.
This is to me, this is like twenty seven to
twenty three type games. So and at this stage of

(01:24:50):
the game, usually defenses are ahead of offenses because they
just are offenses getting in rhythm. But you're dealing with
Mahomes and lamar Jack and so that's a whole that's
a different outlier. And you're dealing with two coordinators, meaning
Andy Reid is the play caller and Baltimore they you're
gonna have some fun watching this game, man. I wouldn't

(01:25:11):
get up and go get a beer during the game.
Go get it during during a commercial because they may
score during a commercial, or you'll miss a big play.
If you don't during a commercial, who's going to be
more physical? And if you want to limit possessions, Derek
Henry should get a good body of work tonight. I
don't know.

Speaker 9 (01:25:25):
I don't.

Speaker 7 (01:25:26):
You've got a limit possessions.

Speaker 4 (01:25:27):
I don't drink during the week. I don't really don't.
If you came to the house tonight to watch the game,
you would have one beer.

Speaker 7 (01:25:33):
You probably have a beer, maybe a gummy be honest.

Speaker 10 (01:25:36):
With you, Okay, today it's like pre Friday.

Speaker 5 (01:25:39):
You know well, I mean when that along goes off
at four o'clock in the morning, it's Friday.

Speaker 7 (01:25:44):
One beer.

Speaker 4 (01:25:45):
You don't have to But if you, I mean, if
you came to my house, you'd probably say, get a
sptal tap. You probably would. No, you would, No, don't
don't ever, don't utter any ounce of other beer that
you wanted to me.

Speaker 7 (01:25:56):
You know we have we have a Mexican beer here too.
Now at that spindle tap?

Speaker 4 (01:26:00):
Really? Yeah?

Speaker 7 (01:26:01):
What's it called spindle tap?

Speaker 4 (01:26:04):
Ah?

Speaker 7 (01:26:04):
Okay, yeah, I gotcha.

Speaker 4 (01:26:05):
I just wanted to go.

Speaker 7 (01:26:07):
This is a it's called subliminal message.

Speaker 5 (01:26:09):
I would probably say, like we're sitting on the couch,
I got keelo on my right I got opus on
my left and right and I'm just in heaven right
and and then I'm like, hey, Sean.

Speaker 4 (01:26:18):
And patron on and patron on your lap right right
and trifecta.

Speaker 5 (01:26:22):
Sean, he grabbed me one of those order lays please.

Speaker 4 (01:26:26):
That means Mexican spindle tap exactly. It's a Mexican beer.

Speaker 5 (01:26:29):
Tell tell Brody unless he's not, unless he's listening, he
ain't scared. Name it orderly, you know what? Just the
orderlay essay? Yeah, Hey, give me one more of those essays, dude?

Speaker 4 (01:26:43):
How good is that? We're the advertising group for rights
going on? My guys? But if I need to load
up my truck and drive some of those to Esco, dude,
my peeps, no.

Speaker 5 (01:26:58):
Stay here, it's the fall Dog. You ain't going to
West Coast my people, and just ship it to him, right, yeah?

Speaker 9 (01:27:04):
Ship?

Speaker 4 (01:27:04):
Can you ship beer like that?

Speaker 9 (01:27:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:27:06):
Can I put it? Can I put it on a FedEx?

Speaker 2 (01:27:07):
Say?

Speaker 4 (01:27:08):
Absolutely? Positively? Has to be there overnight? Yeah?

Speaker 7 (01:27:10):
Yeah, man, okay, yeah, make sure.

Speaker 4 (01:27:13):
Yeah. I've never shipped a case of beer either, I
know I own come now, I know a guy I
owe a case of beer lost that.

Speaker 5 (01:27:21):
I still owe John h A twelve pack of bud
Light from last year.

Speaker 7 (01:27:26):
Fast Fast Pay makes fast friends.

Speaker 5 (01:27:29):
You ain't Uh, Oh, my gosh, what was I gonna do?

Speaker 7 (01:27:34):
My gosh about it name and naming the beer.

Speaker 5 (01:27:37):
Oh, I'll tell you what last thing before we get
to break, because I know you got to.

Speaker 7 (01:27:40):
You want to tell me about some what I should
do to show me that money to go buy your beer.

Speaker 5 (01:27:44):
I would put money into getting Loan Brow shipped to us.
Oh yeah, if anybody has any idea how to get
a case of Loan Brow beer, please.

Speaker 4 (01:27:55):
For the love of God, let us know. I'll bet
your brody knows how to get the beer business. I
do just to have and keep it there, and I'd
like it on like, just like it to me once
every month, a subscription to it. It's one of the
best things I've ever had. I just want to look
at it again the same. Yeah. And I want it
in the bottle. Yeah, I think that.

Speaker 5 (01:28:11):
Don't know if it comes any other way, well, whatever
way they can get it to us. I'm in my witness.
I'm with Now what should I do with my money?

Speaker 4 (01:28:16):

Buckle up, The Shawn Salisbury Show continues.

Speaker 10 (01:29:56):
It's gonna be a hell.

Speaker 4 (01:30:00):
It's not even just where I went to college. It's
the phenomenal stars are not stars. It doesn't matter, just
the people, the lifelong friends and the just being and
not even just the friends, but just like what Saturdays
were during football season, and just just I think about
the places we went ate, the stupid things you do,
the fun things. Hell yeah, I think about where I
went to school.

Speaker 7 (01:30:18):
So I always I love my university.

Speaker 5 (01:30:20):
I love my my degree, everything that Soul Ross State
did for me. There's always a little part of me
that was like, should I have just gone to a
bigger school just to be a college student and like
enjoy everything?

Speaker 4 (01:30:32):
But then I enjoy all the pomp and circumstances.

Speaker 5 (01:30:34):
It goes with Saturdays, right, And then for me, like,
I mean, just to be quite honest with you, I
wasn't good enough to play Division in baseball, which is fine,
but I was still able to go and play in college.
And I loved every single minute of my time in Alpine.
But there are just think.

Speaker 4 (01:30:47):
About the lifelong friends you've made that you would have
never made had you not I mean different friends, but
you wouldn't have the buddies my teammates.

Speaker 5 (01:30:53):
Man, I'm gonna I'm in a group text with those
guys and they're absolute idiots and jackasses.

Speaker 4 (01:30:57):
Great the world death And you know what you can't
replace is that? Yeah? But is That's why I tell people,
And I'm sure you do this too with your young players.
We've talked about this. Quit as a parent and even
societal at times. Quit making it seem like the Division
one power sports is the only.

Speaker 5 (01:31:14):
Sport man, and and and I don't know how it
is for football, And like the guys that you train.
But the players that I have and the players in
this city, like they need to understand going D one
is not as easy like as it used to be.

Speaker 7 (01:31:26):
And I'm not saying it was easy by any means,
as long as you can do.

Speaker 5 (01:31:29):
But now, like with the nil and with transfer portal
d ones in baseball, they're not coming to high schools
as much as they used to do. They want to
go get the juco guy. They want to go get
the guy transferring like.

Speaker 4 (01:31:40):
To They want to get like they want to go
with the four the fourth the third year or fourth
year junior.

Speaker 7 (01:31:45):
Yeah, whose experience now and help.

Speaker 4 (01:31:47):
Look what Dallas Baptist has done the getting and they've
built a powerhouse now doing a lot.

Speaker 7 (01:31:52):
Of best and every year, no doubt about it.

Speaker 4 (01:31:54):
But it's even without the sports part of it, the relationships,
but with sports and listen to strive to go to
your dream school. You should.

Speaker 7 (01:32:02):
If you don't set your goals, how you're going to read?

Speaker 2 (01:32:04):
What?

Speaker 4 (01:32:04):
What do you know? What to get to write them
down and go get it. But it's not a disappointment
to go play somewhere else. No, it's not, because when
all is said and done, you know what we want
to do. Play as long as as long as you can.
I don't give a damn where you're going.

Speaker 5 (01:32:16):
If you get a chance to play college athletics, you
are what in the top like like of the world
or whatever it is that gets to the privilege to
play in college.

Speaker 4 (01:32:28):
You will never listen. There will become a point in
time when you go back. You're not going to say, man,
I mean you'll you'll love your experience, whether you're player
or not, with the transfer portal and all that stuff.
But to me, it's it's at some point in time
think about it, the decision will be made for you
and you and I can promise you that locker room
feel at any university. Once it's done, you never get

(01:32:49):
it again. This is as close as we get outside
of coaching. This is as close you'll get for the
laughs and jokes.

Speaker 7 (01:32:56):
We're off air. This is a locker roow that.

Speaker 4 (01:32:58):
We're sharing with that we actually locker room that we're
sharing with our listeners and that they're sharing with us.
But that feeling of man, you're always gonna miss it.
Why do you think every athlete when they say what
do you miss the most? Rarely? Now deep down.

Speaker 7 (01:33:12):
They may say that the paycheck is good, but deep
down the money.

Speaker 4 (01:33:16):
While they're playing with we think it's all about the
money while you're playing when you're done. I know very
few that when you say, man, what do you miss
the most? Start with money? You know what? They start with?

Speaker 7 (01:33:25):
The fellas, camaraderie, absolutely.

Speaker 4 (01:33:28):
The stupid ass stories, the ground and you know what
you actually think of of all the hard the hard,
the struggle, the journey, the destination. I'll be honest with you,
I think in a lot of things is overrated. From
a guy ten years yeah, so I love it, yes,
And you know, with our jobs now, I don't mean

(01:33:49):
that they don't love being there. But if you're asking
me where more memories come from when you got there
or on the way there, it's not even close. It's
not even close. I don't even remember the Notre Dame
game that when I became SCS. All the time, I'm
just saying, all the time, lying pastor. But you know
what I do remember the weather the day before the

(01:34:09):
fist fight. I got into a locker room with my
own teammate because the inner, because you could do it,
it was so it was so thick, the intensity and
it was snowing the day, Oh no doubt, I remember that.
And the game. I don't even remember what throw it was.
It was all that stuff. And then how we laugh
about it to this day about one of my best friends.
We're getting a fist fight because like, you got my
way trying to get to the locker. Well, what are

(01:34:30):
you two fighting about? We don't know. It's just the intensity.
So it's the journey that there's far more stories told
on the journey than there is to the destiny man,
like straight to wear the ring and all that emotion
put the ring away. It's great you get to where
nobody else has, but are very few go. But the
journey there that you get to share with everybody's awesome.

Speaker 5 (01:34:48):
I just like some of my fondest memories now that
where I'm at in my like at thirty five years old,
I think back to fall workouts like they were awful, brutal.
We had hell week, kicked our ass. But one thing
I missed is there were a couple of fridays we
would have three pm workouts. You'd get your ass kicked
in the weight room, you'd have to run sprints. But
the my favorite part is when you and the boys

(01:35:09):
are walking out of the weight room drinsed in sweat, bitching,
moaning and complaining. But then you remember it's Friday, and
you're like, fellas, we gotta go get us a six
pack Miller High Life for four ninety nine. Those where
we partying tonight. That's what I miss. I'd go back,
give me goosebumps. Man, it makes me getty because I
miss that side.

Speaker 11 (01:35:24):
Damn.

Speaker 7 (01:35:25):
I'd pay to go back and do it. Yeah, just
to have that.

Speaker 4 (01:35:28):
You're one correct and like that the night before a game,
sit in the hotel room with your fellas and the
intensity is there, but you're trying to laugh and your
routine and I just know those memories. So whoever's listening,
it's young gut. It's not just about d one, No,
it's about it. It's about the go, get the journey
to it does. Keep playing as long as you can.

Speaker 5 (01:35:46):
We used to go to a place called Guzzy Up
and Alpine for our pre night before Friday night meal.
That's where we would go have a couple of beers. Coach,
you know, Coach Mesker. Thank god he's not listening, because
we would. We'd some of the best games I ever
had in my rear in college, I was hungover. I'll
just be one hundred percent of just damn near drunk.

Speaker 4 (01:36:03):
I told you my guy, Jacob Green is an A
and M Guy Texas A and M Guy was a
mentor to YEA. The very first time I broke curfew
as a as a rookie, I was scared to death. Man,
I'm trying to make this team. But I think I've
told you this story. He walked me into the the
keg is what it's called in in Kirkland, Washington. He said,
you come with me, kid, And they said, what are
you talking about? And he goes, no, we'll go. We

(01:36:24):
call it going over the wall. Left the dorms. After
checking left, I'm saying, well, I'm with Jacob Green. How
about well this is a superstar and I'm I'm a rookie.
But when Jacob Green says you're coming with me, guess
what you are doing? You're You're You're going with Jacob Green.
We walk into the keg. There's seven coaches sitting at
the table. Oh no, oh dude, and there's twelve of

(01:36:44):
us fifteen of us, seven coaches and think outside of curfew.
Oh yeah, then you have toast for for the from
a distance. And I said Jacob, he goes, relax, he goes,
just be ready to practice tomorrow, and was. And Chuck
Knox would always called, if you're gonna throw the ball in,
Chuck new Chuck, Chuck's on it, idiot, right, But the
assistant coaches didn't sell you out right, Chuck knocks old vetter.

(01:37:06):
He said, if you're going to throw the ball over
the wall, you better be able to go get it,
which met if you're gonna go get drunk, are you
gonna do this and break curfew? You weren't gonna get
fined unless you had a bad practice. They did it
all saiden. Whoa, it's retroactive. But you went out there
and did your things, showed up on time, didn't matter.
And that's cabability is called being a pro. Yeah. But
I walked in there and the first thing I see
at a table, there's color. I'm like, come on in.

(01:37:26):
Jacob's laughing. He goes, We're okay, you'll be fine. Just
be ready tomorrow.

Speaker 5 (01:37:30):
Okay, seven three, five, seven ninety is the number to
join biscuit. Bonnie Joe will get to you next. We

Cry Cry cries. Yeah, let's talk to biscuit. What's happening
to biscuit?

Speaker 5 (01:39:20):
Let's just kids.

Speaker 4 (01:39:26):

Speaker 11 (01:39:38):
Man.

Speaker 9 (01:39:39):
I get that deep voice practice on me.

Speaker 4 (01:39:42):
Oh yeah, you got to. You got to all right
with you.

Speaker 9 (01:39:45):
Got starting up today, man.

Speaker 22 (01:39:47):
Shine, before I before I forget man, I just I
was listening to the news this morning. And of course
I'm not surprised, man, But one of the people that
in that shooting incident that school that passed away just happen.

Speaker 9 (01:40:01):
To be a coach. How about that?

Speaker 23 (01:40:04):
Is always a coach up in the mix, you know why?

Speaker 9 (01:40:07):
You know, trying to stop something?

Speaker 4 (01:40:09):
Man, Well, isn't it true that those guys spend so
much time protecting their players and defending them. It's only
fitting that they're what you're preaching to your players, to
watch over your teammates and your family and all that that.
You can't you can't be surprised that he's willing to
sacrifice everything to make sure somebody else lives. What a
what a horrific awful We're still there. We're still there.

(01:40:30):
Columbine was what twenty five years ago? This get about?
Why aren't we talking about twenty five years now? And
I don't not to compare the two because it's awful,
But we're still talking about this, We're still talking and
then people going in and trying to defend these kids.
I don't know what the answer is, but the answer
is we've got we've got to be better all the
way around. But I know this, It does not surprise

(01:40:50):
me one that math teachers and coaches, you know, teachers
and coaches were doing everything they can and a coach
to try and defend, you know, stop this this animal.
You know, it's sad.

Speaker 9 (01:41:04):
Very sad. It's sad, man, But no question about it.

Speaker 4 (01:41:08):
I don't know how you. I don't know how you
explain it or find peace and understanding in it. But
damn the grind of this and having them, you know,
get back to peace is going to be a long
arduous process for those families. It's awful in that community and.

Speaker 22 (01:41:24):
Must to take everything I said about your back man,
what you know about Loewen Brown, man, that's way before
your time.

Speaker 4 (01:41:30):
My brother, Well, I'll answer it for you because he
had to just step out of the studio. He loved
he does. He found it years ago. We were talking
about it, and I brought it up to him because
we were talking about like the Champagne of Beers and
all that, and about a year ago, about a year
and a half ago, he said, and I brought up
Lowing Brown and he goes, oh, my gosh, I love
Lowan Brown. So probably his pops, right, you know your
dad's drinking Loan bro, Because it was before his time.

(01:41:52):
Lowan Brown was before that dude was born. So the
fact that he came here and now he'll tell me
he doesn't know who uh Mayor Monroe is, but he
damn well knows what Loan Brow is. Right, priorities.

Speaker 22 (01:42:08):
Say it is Man, I don't think Uhleman Tripoli.

Speaker 9 (01:42:12):
No, Man, you was. You was in the midst of the.

Speaker 23 (01:42:17):
Coming in the early eighties, late seventies Man with team Jackson.

Speaker 9 (01:42:25):
College football. It was.

Speaker 4 (01:42:27):
It was and the names Marcus Allen and Chip Banks
and across the country. I mean just my Yeah, Bruce
Matthews and I were talking about the other day because
Bruce was on that team with us, and we were
talking about our opener my freshman year against Tennessee and
the Reggie White was on that team. I just think
about that's happen. I mean, we played Willie Galt. I
mean you were talking and I was the opener at

(01:42:49):
the coliseum, brother, and it was we there's some times
and not only that, but it's time to be just
sports wise. And the Lakers were you know, Lakers showtime
was rolling Magic was a rookie early on in that
it was we just had it was. It was a
great time and some tough times too, but great time
to go to college at Southern cal right there, and

(01:43:09):
I had some some of the best people in the world.

Speaker 11 (01:43:11):
Man.

Speaker 4 (01:43:12):
Those experiences can never be replaced, never be replaced.

Speaker 17 (01:43:15):
Man.

Speaker 23 (01:43:16):
My prediction shine for this year. And I hate to
go with the favorites, man, but I was looking at it.
I wanted to say Detroit, and I wanted to say Baltimore,
and I wanted.

Speaker 9 (01:43:26):
To give the Eagles a shot. But I think we.

Speaker 23 (01:43:30):
Hit it for a repeat shot.

Speaker 9 (01:43:31):
And I think the Niners might get.

Speaker 4 (01:43:36):
Him this year. Yeah, Which would this be three in
a row for Kansas City if they pull this off?

Speaker 10 (01:43:40):
Right?

Speaker 4 (01:43:40):
Tough to do two in a row is tough enough, right, Yeah?
Sure is. So I'm anxious to see it, my man.
And uh, we get it started tonight and two of
these teams that will still be staying in January or
playing to night. But hard to pick against Mahomes and
hard to pick against the loaded roster in San Francisco.
So we'll see great stuff. Brother, Let's just kiss and
say goodbye. We'll talk to you. That's right, I have

(01:44:01):
a good We'll talk to you tomorrow. It's Sportstock seven
ninety Bonnie Bonnie, Joe and Felipe and Kenneth. Let's get this.

to hear from you again. I hope you're having a
good Thursday.

Speaker 9 (01:46:08):
Oh I am.

Speaker 14 (01:46:09):
Thanks guys for taking my call. I'm going to get
through this real fast because I know y'all have a
lot of callers. I'm just so excited about the NFL
starting tonight. I mean, and y'all talking about it has
got me more pumped up. My husband had one of
his favorite drafts last night with all of his friends.
They've been together in this league for thirty four years,
and so it's just like everything's coming together. And I'm

(01:46:31):
optimistic about my Cowboys, but I'm also a realist, so
I know it'll probably be another mediocre season. And I'm
just I'm just really excited about tonight's game. And I'm
the kind of football fan whether it's college or NFL,
I'll watch. I'll watch anyone play.

Speaker 4 (01:46:50):
I don't came in with two.

Speaker 14 (01:46:52):
I mean, I love football.

Speaker 10 (01:46:54):
I will watch.

Speaker 14 (01:46:55):
Those minor, you know, college conferences. A lot of people
make fun of them. I love watching those.

Speaker 4 (01:47:03):
That's football too, right, it's still good football, so no
doubt it is. Yep.

Speaker 14 (01:47:07):
And the last thing is, please tell Tripoli to stop
playing the mood music. My husband's off today. I have
things to do, places to go. He can just stop
with all the smooth music.

Speaker 4 (01:47:23):
We'll start playing like We'll start playing like headbanger music,
so it takes you out of that mood. There you go,
Bonnie Joe, great stuff. Enjoy tonight and a great football season.
And we got to treat with these two teams playing tonight.
Thank you so much. And you know what, cold shower,
Bonnie Joe.

Speaker 14 (01:47:39):
Yeah, I'm putting in there.

Speaker 4 (01:47:43):
Great to hear from you. Have a good one and
tell your husband to get his ass home. We'll talk
to you later. Thanks. Bodie Joe appreciated good stuff. She's awesome,
los and I'm with her. And you know what, real
quick to validate what she said, Brian, she'll watch any like.
You know, we joke about slippery Rock and bowling Green.
I've had buddies that went to schools, so I get it.
But you know it's crazy is at ESPN we were

(01:48:06):
having a production. We had somebody come and talk about programming,
so they took a handful of us people who were
on the studio stuff and TV stuff, and we were
in a couple hour meeting for a big boss to
talk and they brought a speaker in and all that,
and we're sitting there and do you know the ratings
for a game like that, Kent State versus Bowling Green
will blow away anything else you're putting on ESPN that day?

Speaker 9 (01:48:27):
Really?

Speaker 4 (01:48:27):
Oh yeah, on a Wednesday night, that game wo I'm
talking about you during the week game. I'm not talking
about of course, if it's Alabama Auburn, you're going to
see that. Find about during the week when they say, okay,
do we want to run this game on a Wednesday
or Thursday? When you go and you know you're bidding
for college football and Wednesday on a Wednesday, when it's
one of those games or a Thursday, you are going
not against the Chiefs in Baltimore, but standalone, you're going

(01:48:50):
to get better ratings for that at that time. And
I'm assuming it's still right that live programming game will
get more people watching it, then you'll get on Sports
Center at Primetime Sports Center. I'm just telling you that's crazy.
And so Bonnie, She's right, it's football. Think about it. Okay,
if tonight there was no game on, but and you
didn't anything else do, and you're sitting around the house,
and let's say Bowling Green was getting ready to play

(01:49:13):
Tennessee Chattanooga, you turn it on just to see. Yeah,
because I'm most likely probably that's the football world we
live in.

Speaker 7 (01:49:22):
I probably would have a bed in on it. Yeah,
so I want to see you.

Speaker 4 (01:49:24):
There you go. And that's another big part of it.
So Bonnie Joe classic tripley do you hear Bonnie Joe?
Quit playing good music? Dude, I'm sorry here, she's you're
gonna have to drive down to her husband's work and say, hey,
got five minutes, I got the suv.

Speaker 7 (01:49:37):
She got her husband's off today.

Speaker 4 (01:49:39):
Off today. Yes, right, she's.

Speaker 7 (01:49:41):
Got things to do.

Speaker 4 (01:49:43):
Oh that's so. I I thought I heard her say
he's at work and I got things to do. But
you're playing this music, so I can't get going. Oh
so the husband's at home and she's got to run errands,
she's got work to do, Like, what are you doing
chasing her around like a baby duck? Mother duck? So
that's even that's even even better. Yeah, he's chasing around
the house. You got real popular.

Speaker 7 (01:50:05):
I love it.

Speaker 4 (01:50:06):
Yeah, I love it. Yeah, that's that's why she says
she's gonna stick your call. Yeah, I'm sitting here thinking, oh,
go shower, your your craving your husband.

Speaker 7 (01:50:13):
Well he's here. The problem is he won't leave me alone.

Speaker 4 (01:50:16):
There you go. I love it.

Speaker 5 (01:50:18):
Oh, let's talk to Ken kennonth Thanks for holling good morning.

Speaker 4 (01:50:22):
Yeah. Hey, did I hear you?

Speaker 2 (01:50:24):
All right?

Speaker 12 (01:50:25):
That?

Speaker 17 (01:50:25):
Uh and kiss and uh Taylor Swift breaking up.

Speaker 4 (01:50:30):
That's the word of the world on the street. Yeah,
they're breaking up. But we were.

Speaker 2 (01:50:37):
Night.

Speaker 4 (01:50:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:50:39):
Man, I be enjoyed this game.

Speaker 19 (01:50:41):
Man.

Speaker 25 (01:50:41):
Well, I don't know he's going to destroy the front
of you and nest the walls up inside.

Speaker 6 (01:50:47):
Of them before you go. But anyway, you mentioned h
John Halo last week.

Speaker 17 (01:50:54):
I didn't know he played with Kao.

Speaker 4 (01:50:56):
See no John Johnny's Yeah. John Hadel went to key Can.
John Hadel went to Kansas.

Speaker 25 (01:51:04):
That was my first quarterback and I can consciously remember
as a child covered up as a quarterback in Houston.
And I had a question for Brian because he always
good on fast and see if I'm stumping Brian. Before
the merger of the League. Who was the quarterback for the.

Speaker 6 (01:51:25):
Houston TEMI for Houston Hall when they won the championship
before the mergers.

Speaker 9 (01:51:33):
I'm gonna leave you with that.

Speaker 4 (01:51:36):
Find out. Go ahead, I gotta find it. Oh yeah,
so he wants you to look it up. Yeah, great point. Yeah.
John Hadel number twenty one played for the Chargers was
Kansas bag I think there's been some good Nolan Cromwell,
I believe was a Kansas Jayhawk, long time NFL coach,
but also a great football player in college. John Hadel,

(01:51:57):
Gail Sayrs one of the greatest. If I would have
loved to see Gail Sayers for a full career instead
of just a shortened career, kind of like the Terrell Davis.
But boy, you want to talk about with the ball
in his hand in the open field, never anybody better.
Packers defeated the Chiefs, he said before the merger? Is it?

Speaker 7 (01:52:12):
What was his question of Super Bowl One? I thought
did he did?

Speaker 16 (01:52:15):
He?

Speaker 4 (01:52:15):
I think he said, who is the Oilers quarterback? I
was having issues with my Oh okay, so I couldn't
so year back he remembers John Hale. Yeah, John Hadl's
and Kansas Jayhawk man Kansas Jayhawk.

Speaker 5 (01:52:26):
Yeah, super Bowl, let's see ninety sixty nine, the Super
Bowl Moniker became the official title.

Speaker 7 (01:52:32):
The two leagues merged in nineteen seventy.

Speaker 5 (01:52:33):
Green Bay Packers Elijah Pitts runs the ball during the
Super Bowl one against Kansasity the Chiefs on January fifteenth.
Packers defeated the Chiefs thirty five to ten yep and
then Kansas.

Speaker 4 (01:52:44):
City got them later on on sixty five toss power trap? Good,
good play call, sixty five toss power trap. Love that
play call sar Hankstram on those Oh you see him
on the highlights on the sideline on NFL films, Like
what did I tell you what a sixty five toss
power trap? Sixty five tossed trap? Would I tell you?
Ha ha, I got him, didn't I owe us? Sixty
five toss power trap? Yeah?

Speaker 7 (01:53:04):
Classic stuff man. Yeah, it's like Spider two, Why banana?

Speaker 4 (01:53:08):
What would you rather do? Run Spider two? Why banana?

Speaker 7 (01:53:10):
Or sixty five toss power trap? So in your mind
real quick.

Speaker 4 (01:53:15):
Yeah you want me to I would know sixty five
toss power trap. What would you if you didn't watch
football but you knew football but didn't watch that game?
What in your mind if I say sixty five toss
power trap, So what would you think the quarterback? So
what's the backfield? I'm not talking about the line, but
what's the backfield action? So is that now? So is

(01:53:35):
so trapped? Doesn't that mean somebody pulls? Is a does?
Is a guard pull? Good point? Somebody guard or motion
tight end? But there's some kind of motion correct? Right?
So then doesn't or no, you can do it stationary okay,
but you're trapping right. So a lot of teams guys
will send a guy across them with information and he'll
peel back and trap the guard while the other well,
the guard influences and leaves and they'll trap and kick

(01:53:56):
him out. So you open the hole so trap. Yes,
you can motion it okay, but your trap blocking back.
So you said sixty five, Yeah, don't worry about the
sixty five because you won't get it.

Speaker 7 (01:54:05):
Thought the odd numbers to the left.

Speaker 4 (01:54:07):
It is usually now sixty five could be they may
have labeled it, well our backs A lot of times
I think it used to be with two backs in
the back of the two back was the tailback the
three backs, so it'd be like twenty eight pitch for
us two back to the eight hole. Yeah, so sixty
five sixty five toss power trap tells me they're going
five hole. Yeah, so it's right. Yeah, so think about

(01:54:27):
the action. So you got a guy on the formation,
either I or a guy on the wing. I don't
remember what the formation was, but what he's doing is
Lenny Dawson. Yeah, turned around, reverse pivot like he's gonna
he's gonna flip the toss. He fakes the toss ye
to get action moving and comes back and Mike Garrett
the rank comes underneath and you trap the inside. So
there so they're widening them out, influencing them. A guy

(01:54:49):
comes in and kicks out, and so you're faking tossed
to get wide steps and then toss power trap. So
you go sixty five toss and then power trap where
power were. This is our inside power trap. We're kicking
out and we're gonna show trap, widen out the defense,
and we're gonna come in and trap them to the
five hole and we're going to walk in the end zone.
And they did score on sixty five. That is where

(01:55:09):
we need to toss power trap. We need to draw
that up for you and you'd love it.

Speaker 5 (01:55:13):
Yeah, because I want I want to be I want
to be able to try to guess what you're about
to explain.

Speaker 7 (01:55:18):
And then when I completely royally.

Speaker 4 (01:55:19):
Mir on the right path though, Yeah, and then and
then you break it down, those numbers want to tell
you what hole and then toss power traps to play,
so boom, no matter how you get to we're gonna trap.
We're going to toss to influence them thinking we're going
wide and we're gonna come back on reverse pivot and
give an underneath hand off to Mike Garrett, who's gonna
waltz in into five hole. It's crazy.

Speaker 5 (01:55:35):
I was thinking about I played quarterback seventh eighth grade.
I'm thinking about the numbers and the holes and power trail.
We didn't run power trap, but I just remember toss
and just things like that.

Speaker 4 (01:55:44):
Nowadays, they'll just say, uh, Trojan and everybody knows what
the formation is. It's two by two is what is
given a one name and let's go play.

Speaker 5 (01:55:53):
Yeah, got yeah, we need a whiteboard for that. All right,
it's prediction time, whole nine o'clock hour. We've got to
make our predictions for the NFL season.

Speaker 3 (01:56:01):

I had it.

Speaker 5 (01:57:12):
I had had it on a trip right we went
to Saint your dad drink my dad. My dad was
a bud light guy his whole life, and if to
be completely honest with you, if my dad was still
alive when all that stuff happened, my dad would have
gone away from bud Light, which is.

Speaker 4 (01:57:26):
Crazy to think about, because he was with what they
did on the label and all.

Speaker 5 (01:57:29):
Yeah, yeah, the marketing plan, Yeah, the Dylan Movane yeah,
and all that stuff. And I'm not trying to get
into it, but my dad would have been like, what
the hell is anyways?

Speaker 9 (01:57:35):
Right?

Speaker 4 (01:57:35):
Uh? Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:57:35):
So we went on a trip to a conference when
I was in oil and gas to Saint Louis, and
Saint Louis.

Speaker 4 (01:57:40):
Sold Loan Brow.

Speaker 7 (01:57:43):
They aren't Anheuser bush.

Speaker 4 (01:57:44):
Yes, they stayed. They sold it at the stadium. I
guarantee you somewhere in there. One of my well Shane
was the Shannon family. Yeah, no, I'm gonna try to
find some for us because it was broadcaster. Yeah. His
son Tim's my best friend, right, and they're the other
two brothers and they got, you know, the family of
the Shannon's all over the place. They work for Anheuser

(01:58:07):
Busch to this day. Well, and I gotta call him,
we call him Gibbel, I gotta call him Mike and
his son Mike Junior, and say somewhere in that in
the back of that dog On Brewery and Anheuser Bush,
there's got to be some cases of Loanbro float And
what I vividly remember is the label and the can.

Speaker 5 (01:58:25):
Of course, now that now it's more right, Yeah, because
you were out of I was at a baseball so
I was a bush bush stadium. Yeah, but then I
remember it's like a horse or something whatever it is. Yeah,
And it was just absolutely phenomenal. And I got back
and I tried everywhere, anywhere, everywhere. My dad used to
have a local spot he would go to right outside

(01:58:46):
the neighborhood, the liquor store. I met with the owner
like two or three different times, and he met with
every rep possible and nobody could get it.

Speaker 4 (01:58:52):
Okay, so you tell And I said this to him.
I said, here's a guy who knows Loan Brow was
around before he was born, and they like Loanbrow. But
you can't tell me who Marilyn Monroe is.

Speaker 5 (01:59:01):
I know who Marilyn Monroe is. Yeah, she's a great,
great college hoops player. Didn't she didn't she the chick
that she's got that fame called chick right where dressing
all blowing up? You know, you say, are you asking
like once she kind of you know, like, didn't she
get around?

Speaker 4 (01:59:21):
Well, there's there's some that she there's talk that she
did her in Elvis, President Kennedy, that's who it was.
And well she was married to Joe DiMaggio. Yeah, well, okay,
Well I don't know how much she got around in
her thirty some years. But Trey, you know, tragic ending.

Speaker 5 (01:59:34):
To a didn't Joe Demaggio get around to or is
that Mickey Mantle or both or all of them?

Speaker 4 (01:59:39):
They had fun with the Yankees, So I can tell
you this. Pete Rose will tell you about Joe Dimagio. Okay,
so Jody Magio is one of Joe to magic. Probably
Joe probably didn't have to go get to hog tiede
dog apparently apparently it was a man hanging off of
according to Pete Rose as he tells the story in

(02:00:01):
the in the jungles at Vietnam is where Pete discovered,
well he's showering. Well he's pouring the water on Joe
Vahu who wanted to shower in the middle of the jungle.
Great story. Google that you'll cry laughing and uh, I
mean you're being tears. But I digress. So yeah, you're saying,
is she she's iconic? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (02:00:21):
Yeah, this so is Loan Brown. All right, that's that's
not very You can talk to Michael in the Heights, Michael,

Nick Asterio have heard of him?

Speaker 9 (02:00:42):
Bobby Season, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (02:00:45):
Much about him.

Speaker 5 (02:00:46):
I don't know much about him either. Actually, so when
did when did he get a new agent?

Speaker 23 (02:00:51):

Speaker 9 (02:03:19):

want to start in the NSC.

Speaker 4 (02:03:32):
Who you got in the NFC are triple? Are you
writing these down? Or should we?

Speaker 10 (02:03:36):
I can?

Speaker 4 (02:03:37):
Okay, and okay, we'll all go triple. You got a
favorite the NFC East, We'll let you get your stuff gathered.

Speaker 5 (02:03:43):
You tell us, all right, Brian, go ahead, So NFC East.
So I'll just go through my playoff teams.

Speaker 4 (02:03:49):
Okay, go give me your four.

Speaker 5 (02:03:52):
Division wining division winners Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions, and the
NFC North. I think the Falcons are going to win
the NFC South. I think I like what Tampa Bay
has done, bringing back a lot of their guys. I
just don't know how well is Baker Mayfield gonna play
what's gonna happen with the New Orleans Saints. But I
think Kirk Cousins has been surrounded by some really good players.

Speaker 4 (02:04:11):
We know what he does during.

Speaker 7 (02:04:12):
The regular season.

Speaker 5 (02:04:13):
Give me the Falcons for the NFC South, and then
over on the NFC West, it's gonna be the San
Francisco forty nine ers.

Speaker 4 (02:04:20):
I think that's yeah. I'm rolling with that. Yeah, I'm
making a noye. I took San Francis. I got San Francisco,
and San Francisco is the one seed. Same Philadelphia, Atlanta,
and Detroit the NFC as division winners, and well not
even just division winners, but the four playoff teams that
are yeah, they are division winners. So those are the

(02:04:40):
teams that win the division. Those are my four teams. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:04:42):
So uh and then you have the three wild card teams.
I've got the Cowboys as one, green Bay Packers as two,
and in the Los Angeles Rams as the three.

Speaker 4 (02:04:56):
Yeah. See, I hate the fact that we're doing this
like this because I have Rams is a wild card,
Cowboys is a wild card, and the Green Bay Packers
is a wild card. Packers Cowboys.

Speaker 9 (02:05:10):
Yep.

Speaker 10 (02:05:10):
I'm right here, I'm ready.

Speaker 7 (02:05:11):
You're ready to go Cowboys and Rams.

Speaker 13 (02:05:14):
Yeah, yep, I got Cowboys, You got the Cowboys winning
the division yep.

Speaker 10 (02:05:19):
NFC North, yep.

Speaker 13 (02:05:21):
I'm really gonna double back and take the Lions because
they really had a great season last year.

Speaker 4 (02:05:25):
Yep.

Speaker 13 (02:05:26):
And in the South, I'm really liking Atlanta. I'm not
gonna do like ATLA and NFC wes give me the
forty nine ers.

Speaker 4 (02:05:35):
Yep, okay, seems like four fairly not easy, but uh chalk.

Speaker 5 (02:05:42):
Picks right, yeah, yeah, yeah, pretty much? All right, triple three?
More wild card teams. You gotta go Philly, yep, Philadelphia.
Let me see, I think I'm a really I'm gonna
go with Green Bay. Okay, yeah, they are Green Bay
and the Cardinals.

Speaker 4 (02:06:03):
I like it. Okay, I like it. Sneaky pick different pick,
there we go. I like it. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (02:06:06):
What's Kyler Murry gonna look like this year?

Speaker 10 (02:06:08):
M hm Okay, I can't wait Sunday, can't get here anything.

Speaker 7 (02:06:11):
No, man, I know, I'm actually you know that obviously.

Speaker 5 (02:06:15):
Tonight's game Baltimore and the Chiefs, Yeah, that one's gonna
be a good one. But then tomorrow night you have
Green Bay at Philadelphia playing over in uh Over in Brazil.
So that's gonna be good. All right, Let's let's get
the break because we got to talk about the a
f C. Who do we think is gonna make the
playoffs for them? Also gonna you know, get into some
AFC South talking our heavy predictions on the Texans. Let's

(02:06:37):
do that next right here on Sports Talk seven niney.
But let me tell you about Brotherly Love Electric and
their home generator. Do not get left in the dark
the next time a big time storm rolls through the city.
The tropics are heating up right now. I believe the
National Weather Service is tracking five tropical disturbances. So the

(02:07:00):
GOP for we will get another hurricane. But if we do,
you will be prepared. If you get yourself a home
generator from Brotherly Love Electric, that American made Bridges Stratton
home generator. They have a fully stocked warehouse right now
ready to go shortestly times in the city, and they
will offer twenty four to seven monitoring of that generator system.
So if there's every problem, they're gonna know about it

(02:07:20):
before you do. Brotherly Love Electric and their home generator
from American the American made Brigines Stratton home generator. They've
been servicing the Greater Houston area for over ten years.
Already for your call three four six seven seven seven
three three seven zero three four six seven seven seven
three three seven zero Get that American made Briggs and
Stratton home generator from Brotherly Love Electric.

Speaker 3 (02:07:43):
The Shawn Salisbury Show put ours smart ass on your
smart speaker.

Speaker 5 (02:07:49):
Google Play Shawn Salisbury on iHeartRadio.

Speaker 4 (02:07:53):
Yeah, you go ahead, go for it, all right.

Speaker 5 (02:07:56):
I got the Chiefs, I got the Texans, I got
the Jets. And am I crazy to say that the
Bengals are gonna win the AFC North over the Ravens.

Speaker 4 (02:08:08):
You're asking me or telling me I'm asking you. I
don't think you're crazy at all.

Speaker 5 (02:08:12):
I've got the Bengals winning that division, okay, even though
that division is a gauntlet. Then my playoff teams I've
are my student my wildcard teams, Ravens, Browns, Buffalo Bills.
I struggled between the Browns, Bills, and Chargers. I think
Harball is going to have the Chargers playing really good
physical football. I don't know about Justin Herbert, even though

(02:08:33):
I'm a big fan of his. I just think the
Browns defense is too good. And then Josh Allen is
one hell of a quarterback. And I also think actually,
with Stefan Diggs not on that team and whatever bs
they had going on, I think.

Speaker 4 (02:08:45):
It is going to help them. I just hmm, it's
tough for me, all right. For me, Tan City wins
the division, Jets win their division, Texans win their division,
and I have the Bengals winning their division as well.
Yeah a, Jackads making that big. I think the Browns
are a playoff team there if there. If not, it's

(02:09:06):
gonna be awful disappointing. I much to my chagrin to
pick them for one reason. Yeah, I'm going Browns just
because it's football related and I'll leave it at that.
And uh, the Ravens. Three teams from that division make
it yea and what is really deep division? And I
labored between three other teams Jacksonville because I think that

(02:09:30):
with rookie with when I say rookie, with young starting
quarterbacks in the league, you may be able to get
some wins in the South, which is the North. It's
going to be a fistfight every week. But I think
the South will be better than we think, even though
you got Richardson and Will Levis still in the you
know what second year but in the infancy of their
correct trust obviously Stroudon Lawrence a little more right now.
But I'm gonna And so it came down to me Buffalo, Chargers, Jacksonville,

(02:09:55):
and Buffalo's too obvious a pick. And with Josh Allen,
I think they miss out on the playoffs year that's
I was. I was in the same boat, and I
think that Jacksonville may end up losing a tie break
or something. I'm gonna go with the Chargers. I think
hardball's impact will be felt if the Chargers can finally
stay injury free to start a season. I am going
to think that that Herbert elevates his play and that
they find a way to sneak And I think Denver

(02:10:17):
will be better this year with bow Nicks and I
do and more thrilling and exciting. I just don't think
they're good enough. And finally, the Raiders. I know they play,
and I love Antonio Pierce. They play hard, but playing
hard isn't still not enough to get them into the
into where I think I want him to go because
as a Raider guy, it pains me not to pick him.
Give me the Chargers is my final playoff team.

Speaker 5 (02:10:39):
And then also a team that neither of us picked
and I don't know, actually triplely go with your go
ahead with your Miami Dolphins left off, Well, that's exactly
what I was about to say, who you.

Speaker 13 (02:10:47):
Got when I was going without the East, I was
really gonna take the Dolphins because I don't like the
Bills this year.

Speaker 4 (02:10:53):
Okay.

Speaker 13 (02:10:54):
At the North, give me, give me Cleveland, Okay, yeah,
all right, Cleveland, AFC South.

Speaker 10 (02:11:03):
A f C South. I'm looking at the Texans.

Speaker 4 (02:11:06):
Of course, okay. And then the AFC West.

Speaker 10 (02:11:08):
Oh yeah, the cheese cheers, all right.

Speaker 13 (02:11:10):
Three more wildcard teams all right, Yeah, I'm gonna.

Speaker 10 (02:11:15):
Go with the Colts.

Speaker 13 (02:11:16):
Oh okay, yeah, Indianapolis, and I'm gonna go with the Jets.
They may make the wildcard, okay, Aaron Rodgers. Can't leave
him out. And lastly, one more Yeah, I think I'll

(02:11:38):
take the Raiders, the Raiders Las Vegas.

Speaker 4 (02:11:41):
Okay.

Speaker 7 (02:11:41):
I like his I like his guts, all right, I
like his got it?

Speaker 4 (02:11:45):
Okay. With that in mind, if I had to pick
between Miami and Buffalo this year, I'd take Miami over Buffalo.

Speaker 7 (02:11:51):
I think Miami is just not physical enough.

Speaker 4 (02:11:53):
That's what you're We're gonna find out they score points.
Though that just said, The question is how how's Buffalo's
roster offensively true? Who's who's Josh?

Speaker 7 (02:12:02):
God forbid Josh Allen misses a game or telling he's
my fantasy quarterback?

Speaker 4 (02:12:06):
Guys are great. No, I'm even with a nicked up
injury Oh, yeah, that that team you're talking about, A
reliant on a player, good gracious man, did rely on
him to do everything. I'm gonna stay away from them,
and they've been They've been a a fashionable pick for
me to last couple. You're thinking Buffalo's time. I don't
think the windows closed along as Josh Allen, but I

(02:12:26):
think the windows closed little more than it's been open.
It's closed more than it's open, in my opinion, than
it has.

Speaker 5 (02:12:31):
Been in the past. You know, I love their fan
base too. Real quick, where do you see the Eagles
this year? I know you haven't winning the division? Did
you have one of the Yeah, win of the division?

Speaker 4 (02:12:41):
I do, But I'm concerned about We're going on the
coordinator thing three discs. It's we've done it, it's doing
it again. And I think about how quickly Sirianni went
from a hero too and he's the man.

Speaker 7 (02:12:58):
People talking about they want him out.

Speaker 5 (02:13:00):
Yeah, so all off season you heard about the disgrunt
not disgruntle, what's the good word, just basically not on
the same page between him and Jalen Hurts.

Speaker 4 (02:13:10):
For me, I think that's.

Speaker 7 (02:13:12):
Got to leave that at the door. Brother, you have to.

Speaker 5 (02:13:14):
Think that's going to affect them this season at some point,
because very well, there's a lot of analysts out there
that like, I was listening to the show before us Uh,
it's Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox, and LeVar Arrington. Brady Quinn
and LeVar Arrington both had the Eagles as the number
one see over the forty nine ers.

Speaker 4 (02:13:31):
I was like, dude, their roster is packed, and remember
they got Saquon Barklay now right. I put it this way,
the season you saw Hurts have last year, he's gonna
play better. And Siriani, I don't know how they Sometimes
those relationships don't need to be great. They just need
to be respectful during practice week and on the you
don't have to love each other, but the respect of

(02:13:53):
play calling and putting them in the right position. I
think they're gonna be okay. I don't think they're gonna
cake walk their way. I think they're gonna they're gonna
face some resistance, and that I do. I think the
Cowboys will give them resistance. But the roster and after
last year and all the non coordinators both left the
year before and now they're both and they had Jonathan
Gannet and their head coach. Then last year the replacements

(02:14:15):
out and so now that's a whole new look for them.
I would expect them to come back be a little
bit more ready to play. I like them in the division,
but I don't like them to to be the number
one seed, although it could. Their roster says number one seed.
The question is will the common will the will the
contentious part of the quarterback head coach, at least on

(02:14:37):
the surface what it appears to be contentious. But Jalen
Hurts is such a good dude. He just does this thing. Well,
look at look at Dak Prescott. I don't pay much attention. Basically,
this is Dak in a pre paraphrase. I don't pay
much attention to what Jerry says to the media anymore.
That doesn't impact me. So I would imagine that's a
little bit like, I don't want to say strained, but
it's like that's just the ownersipewing nonsense. He still got

(02:14:59):
to go play, so good players, great players can compartmentalize
and say, Okay, I don't have to like the dude,
but my ass is on the line because if things
go south, guess who the first two guys are gonna
get blamed. The Philadelphia and Dallas are Mike McCarthy and
Dak Prescott, Nick Sirianni and Jalen Hurts, regardless of the rest. Yeah,
that's where it will start if they don't play well.

(02:15:20):
And that's okay, and that's hell. That's part of the
reason you played the position because you kind of like
that heat on you to know.

Speaker 7 (02:15:25):
How you can handle it.

Speaker 4 (02:15:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:15:26):
Yeah, we'll have to see how that shakes out. They
play tomorrow night. We'll look a little bit more into that.

Speaker 4 (02:15:31):
Now we got to pick who the final four.

Speaker 5 (02:15:33):
Yeah, we got to NFC Championship, AFC Championship, Super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (02:15:36):
And then but MVP and Coach of the Year and
Rookie of the Year yep, okay, and DEFENSI Player of Year,
so four of them.

Speaker 5 (02:15:41):

The Shawn Salisbury Show continued.

Speaker 5 (02:17:12):
UH Championship games in the Super Bowl, real quick.

Speaker 16 (02:17:17):
UH.

Speaker 5 (02:17:17):
NFC Championship game for me gonna be the forty nine
Ers versus the Lions AFC. God bless, this is tough.
I think the Chiefs get back there. Unfortunately, No, I

(02:17:42):
take that back. Chiefs don't get there. I'm gonna do
something different. I'm gonna go Homer. I'm gonna go Bengals. Texans, Yeah,
screw it.

Speaker 10 (02:17:51):
I got Chiefs in Yeah, in Texans.

Speaker 4 (02:17:54):
Okay. I got Cincinnati Kansas City AFC Championship game.

Speaker 7 (02:17:58):
Okay, what about NFC?

Speaker 4 (02:18:01):
I got San Francisco Detroit, and I got Detroit winning THEIRS.
And I got the reason why I'm doing it. I
got Detroit playing Cincy and I did. It's easy to pick.
I listen. If you're telling me, Sean you have to
bet ten grand today, I'd have a hard time not
going repeat. Like Biscy was talking about San Francisco Kent City,
those are the two best teams yet. I just think

(02:18:24):
Detroit's primed for this and Cincinnati And where's the super Bowl?
New Orleans?

Speaker 7 (02:18:31):
Yep, Joe Burrow. It just sets up for me.

Speaker 4 (02:18:34):
Yeah, and all the chatter and talk, I'm gonna go
Cincinnati and Detroit and Cincinnati super Bowl champion.

Speaker 5 (02:18:39):
Well I have the Lions and the Bengals. Oh you did,
but I have the Lions winning it. Okay, fair enough?

Speaker 4 (02:18:45):
And I listened. Do I think San Francisco? Could we
be sitting here seeing a repeat from last year or
neither one of those teams even getting by? Like, I'm
not comfortable that the Texans aren't if you're Cincinnati, I'm
not comfortable that the Texans can't beat Cincinnati right now. Yeah,
but I I I talk to me at this time
next year, and it may be a lot, even one

(02:19:06):
more step for the Texans. I just think I'm gonna
take Cincinnati in this one over. I know who I'm
rooting for, but Cincinnati. I'd rather my picks be wrong
and it'd be Houston to get there. But it's too
easy to pick kansaity in San Francisco for me. Give
me Detroit and Joe Burrow going back to where he
won a national title and getting his first super Bowl win,
not appearance, but win in New Orleans trivially.

Speaker 7 (02:19:28):
Who do you have in the super Bowl?

Speaker 4 (02:19:31):
White?

Speaker 10 (02:19:31):
Super Bowl?

Speaker 9 (02:19:32):
Or?

Speaker 4 (02:19:32):
Yeah? Who'd you have in Super Bowl? He's got his
final four? First name him? Yeah, he did his AFC
Chiefs in Texas.

Speaker 13 (02:19:38):
What about the NFC the I'm gonna take the Eagles
in the forty nine ers?

Speaker 4 (02:19:43):
Okay? Who do you have win in that game?

Speaker 10 (02:19:45):
Forty nine ers?

Speaker 9 (02:19:46):
Okay?

Speaker 5 (02:19:46):
So you got a forty nine or super Bowl against too,
Chiefs or Texans Texans?

Speaker 4 (02:19:49):
Let's go, who do you have one in the super Bowl?

Speaker 10 (02:19:51):
Texans?

Speaker 4 (02:19:52):
You got the Texans winning? And okay, I like it?
Why it's the way to hop on board and pander. No,
I'm kidding really good. Well, there's a legit chance.

Speaker 9 (02:20:00):
Man.

Speaker 4 (02:20:00):
That's that's you know two years ago he said, that's
far fetch. Come on, man, get off the Homer train
right now. That is a legit fair pick. Who do
you pick in the NFC forty fair? Who do you
got winning at the Texans?

Speaker 10 (02:20:14):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (02:20:14):
And that'd be awesome, wouldn't it? Yeah? All right, So
who's your rookie of the year.

Speaker 7 (02:20:18):
Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Speaker 4 (02:20:20):
Just pick yeah, I did defensive, Just pick your Who's
the best rookie in football this year?

Speaker 5 (02:20:25):
I think it's gonna come down to, uh, Caleb Williams
or Jayden Daniels.

Speaker 7 (02:20:31):
And I like Jayden Daniels, I like bow.

Speaker 4 (02:20:33):
Nicks is a sneaky one. But I'm taking Caleb Williams too,
because no, I said Jaden Daniels, No, I said bow
Nicks is going to be a sneaky pick just for me.
But I'm taking Caleb Williams. That's sc Homer pick ye
in Chicago will be better.

Speaker 5 (02:20:46):
Another guy that I'm I'm really really excited to see
play as How does Brock Bowers play for me?

Speaker 7 (02:20:52):
Raiders?

Speaker 11 (02:20:53):
Right?

Speaker 4 (02:20:53):
Yeah, the Raiders. And who's the defensive rookie of the year.
What's the dude's name?

Speaker 7 (02:20:59):
Oh my gosh, he's the Oh gosh, he's an.

Speaker 5 (02:21:03):
Alignment I think, or the linebacker for the Dallas Turner
linebacker for he's for the Vikings.

Speaker 7 (02:21:09):
He's a guy that's uh.

Speaker 5 (02:21:10):
He's actually favored to win the Rookie of the Year
on the defensive side.

Speaker 4 (02:21:13):
So there you go, all right, now, Coach of the
Year buddy, Demiko Ryans. Yeah, I'm gonna take Dan Campbell.
Dan Campbell well deserved, gim me Dan Campbell. Yeah, Demico
is gonna win one more than one. I think you knows.
I'm trying to use reverse psychology keeping him out of
the super both that thing? All right, who's the defensive

(02:21:35):
player of the year. You're gonna say, Daniel Hunter? No, no, no.

Speaker 10 (02:21:40):
No, what's our guy in Dallas?

Speaker 7 (02:21:43):
Michael Parsons. He was who I was gonna pick. But
fair choice.

Speaker 5 (02:21:47):
What's Oh my gosh, Daniel Hunter wouldn't be a bad
pick man. Daniel Hunter and Will Anderson Junior. What they're
gonna do to compliment each other is going to be insane.

Speaker 7 (02:21:56):
If they both stay healthy.

Speaker 4 (02:21:58):
Minimum twenty five sacks between, there.

Speaker 5 (02:22:00):
Be two of them. I think both of them are
in the hunt. Honestly, you have a pick for defensive
player there, give me, give me, give me a second.
Do you you got somebody in mine?

Speaker 4 (02:22:10):
Right?

Speaker 12 (02:22:10):
No?

Speaker 4 (02:22:10):
I have a couple of guys in mind.

Speaker 9 (02:22:15):
Give me.

Speaker 4 (02:22:19):
Because you can't out, you can't count out Miles Garrett,
Jimmy Bosa in San Francisco. That's who I was thinking of.
What's the one that's in sandie not San Diego. What's
the one in Los Angeles for the Chargers?

Speaker 5 (02:22:30):
Joey and Nick. That's that's right, Joey and Nick are
the Bosa brothers.

Speaker 4 (02:22:35):
Michael Parsons, since you chose him, I wasn't, but he's
an I think he's a logical pick every year.

Speaker 7 (02:22:40):
Yeah, but I'm gonna go Bosa in San Francisco.

Speaker 4 (02:22:42):
I think T J.

Speaker 5 (02:22:42):
Watt's coming back healthy. He's another guy that you could
you can make the case we love we love guys
who get sacks in the NFL. Yeah, I'm gonna go
with Michael Parsons Offensive Player of the Year, not the
m v P Offensive Player of the Year. You know,
if Justin Jefferson had a better quarterback, and I know
Darnolds probably gonna do a pretty good job, I would
say Justin Jefferson. Jamar Chase, who knows if hev's and
gonna if he's even gonna play Week one because he's

(02:23:05):
still doing his bs.

Speaker 7 (02:23:08):
Those are two of my favorites.

Speaker 5 (02:23:09):
But Offensive Player of the Year for me, man, there's
so many different different choices that I think of, like, like, okay,
so wait, do we do we do a do we
do offensive player and MVP, right, yep.

Speaker 4 (02:23:26):
Yeah. For me, the Offensive Player of the Year is going
to be c J. Stroud. Okay, offensive player. He won't
win MVP this year, but offensive Player of the year.
I'm thinking like thirty three and nine, sixty six percent
completion rate in that range, yeah, and you know, forty
four yards. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:23:44):
I think Offensive Player of the Year for me would
be Christan McCaffrey.

Speaker 4 (02:23:47):
That was him or easy, easy choice and another easy
choice because they're both going to see the ball a
ton and the MVP in the league. I'm taking Joe
Burrow this year. Mm hmmm.

Speaker 5 (02:23:57):
It's a quarterback award pretty much. I don't think it's Gonn,
Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen.

Speaker 4 (02:24:02):
I think c. J.

Speaker 5 (02:24:02):
Stroud will have a phenomenal year, and I think he'll
be right there. Jordan not Jordan love Lamar Jackson. I
even think brock perty might might be in some sort
of the rule.

Speaker 4 (02:24:14):
But if I tell you two guys may get to
five thousand yards passing this year in the same season,
I think you're far off.

Speaker 9 (02:24:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:24:18):
I don't either.

Speaker 5 (02:24:19):
Yeah, I think if Joe Burrow stays healthy, it's gonna
be and especially if.

Speaker 7 (02:24:23):
The Miami Dolphins are gonna put up a lot of points, dude.

Speaker 5 (02:24:25):
So for me, I've got the Lions and I've got
the Bengals, so it's got to be basically one of
those teams or somebody from the forty nine Ers or
Texans for MVP.

Speaker 7 (02:24:32):
So I'll go with Joe Burrow as well.

Speaker 4 (02:24:35):
Fair enough.

Speaker 7 (02:24:35):
Yeah, I think C. J. Strout will be right there
on the running Ford as well.

Speaker 4 (02:24:38):
Now, we got a bunch of calls next.

Speaker 5 (02:24:39):
Right, Yeah, Brandon, Alex, Rodney, John, hang on, We're gonna
finish our last segment with you guys, the callers.

Speaker 7 (02:24:45):
That's next.

Speaker 4 (02:24:48):
This is the Sean Salisbury Show.

Speaker 5 (02:24:50):
Salsiful, gotta be Chris pier Fella's got a lot of
guys that want to get in. John, You're up first.
I got about a minute for you.

Speaker 6 (02:25:00):
That's cool, man, That's all I needed showing.

Speaker 20 (02:25:02):
Remember back when, Uh, I can't remember the year when
Philly had the Dream Team.

Speaker 4 (02:25:12):
I'm here. I don't know. I know. I mean, if
you're asking me the date, I don't know the date.
But I remember when they went out and spent all
kinds of money in the off season and didn't make
the playoffs.

Speaker 11 (02:25:21):
That's what scares me about this.

Speaker 17 (02:25:23):
Everybody's talking about Philly and all these superstars and everything,
and I don't.

Speaker 20 (02:25:27):
Expect Brian, and I know I'm up against it, but
I don't expect Brian to remember because he.

Speaker 17 (02:25:32):
Was still at the day here at that time.

Speaker 4 (02:25:35):
A great week. Thanks folks are coming over?

Speaker 17 (02:25:39):
Who was like Tom Data drug wild?

Speaker 4 (02:25:43):
How Yeah we know you ain't working, Yeah we know
we would get it.

Speaker 7 (02:25:47):
I love it.

Speaker 4 (02:25:48):
I appreciate.

Speaker 26 (02:25:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:25:49):
I don't remember what year, but they went out and
got They spent a ton of money in the off
season Philly, and they called it the dream Team, and
you know, the dream team. I don't even I don't
think they made the playoffs that year, but they weren't
very good.

Speaker 7 (02:26:01):
He was dream team one year?

Speaker 2 (02:26:02):
Was that.

Speaker 4 (02:26:04):
Eleven? There you go?

Speaker 7 (02:26:06):
Yep, eleven.

Speaker 5 (02:26:07):
I was in college, overpaid, overrated that year. Yeah, they
they did not make the playoffs. Crazy all right, Rodney, Good.

Speaker 26 (02:26:15):
Morning, Good morning, Brianney. So I was calling uh to say,
what you think would be a good game plan against
the coach to keep you know, Anthony Richardson and Johnathan
tell you them, Uh off the field, and what you.

Speaker 9 (02:26:29):
Think would be Shane stick as a post.

Speaker 26 (02:26:31):
Did you think he go be medodical to keep CJ
and the Texans office out the.

Speaker 9 (02:26:35):
Field and have a good day?

Speaker 4 (02:26:36):
Guy appreciated Rodney.

Speaker 8 (02:26:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:26:39):
I was asked that quest a real quick question earlier
in the week from Dan Dockets, who has a host
of showing in Indy. I'll tell you what this This
is the unknown. They they saw a little bit of him,
but another year advanced. This is a This is going
to be a difficult to defend. Why now? I think
the Texans are going to be fine, But you got
to ask, okay, because you're so concerned about his legs

(02:26:59):
and Richardson that you can get caught up and worrying
about Okay, I can't let him break contain. He's a big,
physical body, and what happens is those gaps get a
little wider and Jonathan Taylor is still a grown man now,
a grown ass football player. So to me, I think
if you take away the run this week and spend
a lot of time dominating line of scrims right now,

(02:27:20):
Anthony richards has got to beat me consistently throwing the ball.
And I think he's extremely gifted, but he's still give
him a lot of different looks confusion, but what happens
is you cannot let him break the pocket. First guy
there got a hold, meaning wrap up and keep him
there because he's about two fifty and the guy can
move and the unknown is sustaining four.

Speaker 7 (02:27:39):
Quarters making the big play.

Speaker 4 (02:27:41):
What I also think you've got to guard against is
when you lock onto your guy. If Richardson breaks that pocket,
his arm is strong enough to throw it anywhere to
the upper deck. You got to stay away from allowing
scramble big plays and big plays with the arm off schedule.
I think if they keep him on schedule the whole time,
they'll be fine. And you also can't let Jonathan Taylor

(02:28:02):
carry it thirty three times for one hundred and eighty yards,
which is obvious and captain obvious to me. I just
think that the I'm anxious to see in the passing
game colts weapons and how much separation they get against
the Texan secondary. I expect a fierce pass rush, but
you better be disciplined in your lanes because if you
miss Anthony Richardson, Dude, this is a different this is
a different cat playing quarterback. So that's how I defend him.

(02:28:25):
If I'm them, I want to find out. If I'm
the Colts, I'd come out throwing right off the bat
and changing my formations and misdirection and doing a lot
of things just so the Texans don't get locked into
you thinking, well, here's what's going to be now and
then you can run, Jonathan Taylor. But if you're gonna
go steady died to Jonathan Taylor. I trust that the
front seven can actually handle that this year. Yeah, I
do what the playmakers. They got no doubt. Anthony Richardson's

(02:28:48):
ability to dress in a phone booth off schedule stuff concerns.

Speaker 7 (02:28:52):
Me because he's got so much ability talk to Alex.

Speaker 15 (02:28:54):
Good morning, alexas know everything going, Hope, it's a good
third day for y'all. Uh Now, I just wanted to
get in real quick, give.

Speaker 20 (02:29:02):
You all a shout.

Speaker 15 (02:29:03):
I'm not gonna be able to listen to the show tomorrow.
But uh unfortunately, I don't miss the show if I
can help it. But uh now, I'm just wondering, uh, Sean,
where we stood on Uh I'm getting that championship belt
hung up over your your desk right there in the office,
so Brian gets to look at it all day, every
day and uh.

Speaker 11 (02:29:24):
And then my second question is.

Speaker 15 (02:29:26):
I'm wondering when, uh or what y'all's uh really realistic
expectations and realistic h likelihood that the Texans actually make
a run at the super Bowl and the possibilities of
them actually winning it this year. With that being said,
I'm gonna push the Galston and I will holler at

(02:29:49):
y'all next week.

Speaker 4 (02:29:50):
Thanks, be safe, have a great weekend, appreciate the call. Oh,
that championship bell will go up? Okay, hanging. Secondly, where's
your desk? I think you got where's your I didn't
realize you had one in here? This is my lair. Well,
you're not gonna keep it up? Yeah, exactly exactly. With
the Texans. I think the Texans win a playoff game.

(02:30:11):
I do.

Speaker 7 (02:30:11):
I think they get to the second round of the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (02:30:14):
And I think for them to be eliminated in that round,
it's going to be a team like the Bengals that
end up going to the super Bowl, or one of
those two teams that's going moving on that it has
a chance to maybe the Bengals who go on and
win the super Bowl. I think that the Texans are
going to be a tough out. I actually think the
Green Bay Packers are going to cause some trouble in
the NFC too, and we may have missed it. I

(02:30:34):
mean we got them as a wild card. I think
the Green Bay Packers and Jordan Love give me. I
think they're dangerous. I really do. But I got the
Texans winning a playoff game and getting beat, possibly by
the eventual Super Bowl champion and just another experience. But
I don't think when they get beat in the playoffs.
If they do, and let's hope they don't. But being realistic,

(02:30:56):
it's still a tough to go from the I mean
it's the AFC's a gauntlet, man. Yeah. And so if
they do get out of the AFC, or if they
do get beat in that game, it ain't gonna be
one of those where it's thirty seven to ten. You're
not waltzing over the Texans in your playoffs. Not this year, right,
Not not this year. If you told me they were
going to play in the second round against a team like,
give me a wild card team. Let's say they're playing
Cleveland in the second round. Yeah, I think they'd be

(02:31:18):
moving on. Yeah I do. But to me, they'll run
into the maybe the eventual Super Bowl champion. I think
they win their first playoff game. Last but not least, Brandon, good.

Speaker 17 (02:31:26):
Morning, good morning, Good morning, Brian, good morning, sEH On.
How are you guys?

Speaker 4 (02:31:30):
Well, thank you, good morning.

Speaker 17 (02:31:32):
I'm okay, Texans. I will watch ton of I watch
I will watch all of it.
