in part by Skyline Chile. Stopby Skyline Chili for a three way or
cheese coney today. Feeling good,It's Skyline Time. This is ESPN fifteen
thirty Cincinnati Sports Station. Good afternoon, Welcome in, Happy Tuesday. Welcome
(00:25):
to the latest edition of Cincy threeto sixty as a service of Skyline Chili.
Right here on ESPN fifteen thirty,Cincinnati Sports Station. Happy to have
you along. Thankful to have youalong right here on ESPN fifteen thirty or
via the iHeartRadio app where you canlisten in and also be more of a
part of this show thanks to thetalkback feature. Of course, we get
(00:45):
the talkbacks each end every day inthe second segment of our number two.
We'll do so again today. Butuh, before we get into what's happening
in the sportsport, I gotta letyou know what's going on with the show
today, because it's a little bitdifferent of a schedule, and you know,
sometimes with Live right you got tokind of be fluid with us.
Here's the deal today. Joe Burrowis expected to speak to the media at
(01:07):
twelve fifteen. Joe Burrow is prioritynumber one right now in the city of
Cincinnati. When Joe Burrow speaks,we listen. Therefore, we'll cut this
segment a little bit shorter today andideally get to Joe Burrow at twelve fifteen.
If for whatever reason Joe Burrow islate, we will do our best
to recap what Joe Burrow talked aboutand then play the entirety of his press
(01:33):
conference later in the show today, because we also have a guest in our
number one at twelve thirty, MarkSheldon is going to join us to talk
some baseball, to talk some Cincinnatireads. And at one o'clock you know
him from AW you know him fromwhat he does with the NFL and the
Jacksonville Jaguars. It's Tony Kahn isgoing to join us at one o'clock talk
little aew as well your talkback. So our number one is a little congested
(01:59):
today a good way. Joe Burrowis speaking. We've seen us on the
heels of an open practice today wherefolks are down there and they're videoing Joe
Burrow Austin. He seems to bemoving very well. He doesn't seem to
have any limitations with what he's doingthrowing the ball. I would say all
things and all signs are pointing veryfavorably for Joe Burrow right now. Yeah,
(02:20):
it looks like a normal practice forthe Bengals quarterback. Everyone seems to
say, it's Joe Burrow as normaland as expected. And I don't know
that that's really as much of asurprise as much as it's just good for
people to see that he is backand is moving around and is throwing the
ball deeper down the field and alot of play action work, a lot
of outside the pocket work, alot of the stuff that you expect to
(02:44):
see a lot from the Bengals thisyear, primarily on offense. Appears to
be a point of emphasis during Phasetwo open practice one of the Bengals offseason
program. As expected, some guy'snot there, those guys named Trey Hendrickson,
T Higgins who technically isn't on theroster, he has not signed the
franchise tag. Sheldon Rankins is notthere, Rankom, Joe Batchie is not
(03:08):
there, and Jamar Chase is notthere. Not really a surprise for any
of those players not to be there. But first open practice of the season.
Just a again in any sense, just good to see Joe Burrow out
there. Those videos are all oversocial media right now. We'll get more
(03:30):
into that. We'll hear from JoeBurrow today. We also have what we
hope is a Reds game today. We don't know the weather forecast is if
he at best for a game that'ssupposed to be the Arizona Diamondbacks versus the
Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ballpark tonight. We'll talk about that as we go.
I should say, before we goany further, this segment as is
(03:51):
each and every day brought to youby our friends at Klaus Roofing. That's
Krscincey with awy dot com Austin. If you've got a weather forecast like today,
you've got storms, possible wins, potential hail. One of the things
you want to do is make sureyour roof's in good shape. Our friends
at Claus Roofing can help with that, KRS since he with the y dot
com. What else are we gonnado today? Well, we're gonna talk
(04:13):
NBA from last night, Yes,NBA from last night. Why Well,
because the New York Knicks won avery exciting game one against the Indiana Pacers
for Moegar. There it is forMoegar. Some would say poetic justice.
He said, you know there wasa call. I believe this happened.
(04:34):
Was it twenty six or twenty nineyears ago? Twenty nine years ago,
Reggie Miller pushed off. Greg Anthonysaid, Moe in game one, Indy
goes on to win. Knicks fanshold last night, says Moegar. A
kick ball that possibly went the nextway, an a legal screen that went
(04:55):
the next way. The Knicks win. Poetic justice for Moeger and the New
York Knickson. How about Austin Ifyou're unfamiliar, and I think many folks
are with the Minnesota Timberwolves, gethip to him right now. They played
last night without Rudy Gobert. Theywent to Denver. They stole Game one
(05:15):
in Denver, and I don't evensay Steele at this point. They dominated
Game one in Denver. Last nightwas even more of a domination. It
was one of the best exhibitions ofdefense I've ever seen in the NBA.
Just suffer it, suffocating defense. The Nuggets were held in consecutive quarters to
(05:38):
twenty fifteen, twenty five, andtwenty They scored eighty points on their home
floor. Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolveshad no problem. They win one oh
six to eighty. Karl Anthony Townsand Anthony Edwards both scored twenty seven points.
Jamal Murray threw a heat pad onthe floor. He's dowing a towel
on the floor. He can't makea shot. It is a bad look
right now for the defending champions inthe den for Nuggets. But if you're
(06:00):
not up to it yet, ifyou're not keen to it yet, tune
in and watch Minnesota play a funbrand of basketball. You'll also see a
fun brand tonight Cavs Celtics at seven. But I think what's gonna be a
really good series is the number oneseed in the West, the Oklahoma City
Thunder welcoming to Dallas Mavericks. Bothof those games take place tonight. In
(06:21):
the National Basketball Association, Cubs andBrewers lost yesterday. Yeah, I mean
the Reds are still only one gameout of the wild card. Let's go.
Yeah, we'll give you a lineupwhen we have the chance today.
If we with a lineup, Ithink we'll have to ask Mark about this.
(06:41):
I think there is supposed to besome sort of an update coming today
on Matt McClain. Okay, Ibelieve he met with his surgeon yesterday,
okay, And so there is believedto be some sort of an update coming
at some point today on Matt McLean. Don't know that it's gonna tell us
(07:01):
much other than it's an update. The other thing, TJ. Friedel could
come back as soon as today.I was thinking about this, I was
like, well, where are thebats playing? And if this game more
than likely gets rained out tonight, could they keep him an extra day down
there, get another set of atbats before coming back. But the bats
(07:23):
are at home and they are expectingsevere weather tonight as well, So not
sure exactly what's going to happen. But David Bell said that they were going
to talk to TJ. Friedel Sundaynight get a plan in place, So
expecting an update on that as welltoday. Nice TJ. Friedel, Matt
McLean updates. Hoping for those,we'll get more clarification from Mark Sheldon.
(07:44):
All right, so we have allof that to look forward to. Austin,
you shared with me yesterday, wedidn't get to it yesterday. A
really cool story from I guess youcould say cool depending on who it happened
to. What's going on in theBaltimore Oals bullpen. We'll get to that
today. And you know, ourboss here today, Austin was running through
the halls pounding the table for theReds to make a move for a certain
(08:07):
player in Major League Baseball. Wehave a list of a few players that
would it make sense for the Redsto go after. If the idea is
to continue to go all in.Maybe you look at some teams who aren't
all in, who are struggling mightilyto start the season, and okay,
does this player make sense on theReds roster. We'll get to all of
(08:28):
that before we get to our firstBreakdoughs. Since we're so packed an hour.
Number one, let's get to Mark'sphone call. Uh Mark, what's
going on? Hey, I couldn'tcall in yesterday, you know, had
some personal Yeah, but I gota chance to listen to the show and
my absence was noticed. It wasit was yeah, you know, I
(08:52):
appreciate that, but uh so Ihad to call Lee in the day to
make up for yesterday. Yes,I'm not worried about the Reds losing three
games in the row to Baltimore.I don't understand why everybody's in panic mode.
You know, at the end ofthe day, that's look at this
realistic Specer Steer is only in thissecond year. He's a good player,
(09:15):
but he's in the second year atday La Cruz. Second year in Karnasi
Austrand second year. They're still developing. Tyler Stevenson still coming back from that
certain shoulder injury, you know, trying to make his way back to what
he was. Jonathan India, he'sSteve's a good baseball player. You know,
(09:39):
Will Benson, Stuart Fairchild, BubbaThompson, their minor league players.
I mean Will Benson more of aborderline. But at the end of the
day, you know, baseball inthe eighties and seventies, in the early
nineties, they'd have been in theminor leagues. They wouldn't have been in
the major league. They would havebeen on the right. So let's let's
(10:01):
look at it for what it reallyis. Baseball today is somewhat watered down,
and you know, you got mostof this lineup is still developing.
So they ran up on the teamthat was much better than them, and
they beat them three games in arow. I mean that one of those
(10:22):
games I think they had a chance, and the nights then the two guys
On and Dada Cruz struck out.Okay, you know, but my issue,
let me get to my point andthen I'll get off. My issue
with the Reds is it's an organizationalissue, like what is the plan?
What are we doing? Like youbrought these young guys up, They're not
(10:45):
gonna be championship ready until the nextgroup of young guys come up. They
they usually take two cycles of youngplayers coming up. You go out there
and you sign Jambers. That's aproblem, right because you got to play
him whether he's hitting or not.So to me, they got an organizational
(11:05):
philosophy problem that they need to maketheir mind up on, Like, you
know, Jonathan India, he's eitheryour lead off here or he's not.
Make your mind up on that andleave it at that and start putting these
guys in a certain place for whatyou feel like you want out of them.
Do you want Ali Delil Cruz tobe a power hitter? Do you
(11:26):
want him to drive in runs andhit on runs? Well, if that's
the case, you got a batingthird or do you want him to score
runs and use his speed, Butthen you got a bat in second,
and then he has to he hasto learn how to situationally hit in some
cases. So to me, theyneed to make their mind up on what
(11:48):
they want these players to be anddefine what their roles are and go from
there. And I'll get off andthen you know, I'm listening to your
opinion. Thank you. Mark divemore into the Reds as we go and
the consistency in the lineup. Iunderstand those frustrations. For now. We
got to get to a break, though, because when we got back,
when we get back, ideally JoeBurrow will be speaking to the media.
(12:11):
We will get to that on theother side of this break. Since he
three to sixty ESPN fifteen thirty CincinnatiSports Station, thanks to Skyline. This
is ESPN fifteen thirty and iHeartRadio stations. The Temverwolves have come into Denver and
stunned the defending champs, winning twiceon their home floor. The horn sounds
(12:33):
here at Balda, Waita and theWolves lead the Nuggets two games to none.
Incredible stuff. Honestly, still amazedbecause I know how good of a
team Denver Is and uh, andto see what Minnesota went in and did
last night. One oh six toeighty is the final. That is a
(12:54):
statement game of all statement games forthe Minnesota Timberwolves, who now lead that
series to to zero. We areawaiting Joe Burrow to get to the podium
at pay Course Stadium. We're andagain we're we're gonna be a little We're
gonna be a little fluid with thisbecause if it if it gets into you
(13:15):
know, three, four, fiveminutes that he's late, we're gonna hold
off so that we don't have tocut it short and we can play that
more in our number three and kindof discuss things that he said, uh
in this hour. But if heapproaches the podium in the next few minutes,
we'll obviously go down to the stadiumto to hear from Joe Burrow.
Again, that's priority, uh numberone. We we could talk about what's
(13:37):
going on at at Great American Ballpark. We could talk about the Arizona Diamondbacks
in town. It's Frankie Muntas isback on the mound for the Cincinnati Reds,
who had, of course, thisfantastic start to the season. Did
Montas through his first two starts,he looked unhittable. The the opening day
against Washington, he goes six innings, no runs, four hits. Against
(14:00):
the Philadelphia Phillies, who are thehottest team in baseball right now, he
went five and two thirds of onerun baseball, and then against Milwaukee,
he got roughed up a little bit, got roughed up against the Seattle Mariners,
and then again just lasted two thirdsof an inning in his last start
against the Angels. That start happenedon April twenty first, So this will
be Frankie Montas's first action since thensince taking the line drive off of his
(14:24):
elbow. He will be opposed byone of the best pitchers in Major League
Baseball and Zach Gallen, and ideallythat game gets underway at six forty weather.
It's going to be the issue todayand tonight, and that's gonna be
something to watch for. But asof right now, we get about six
(14:45):
or seven minutes of Joe Burrow downat pay Corpse Stadium speaking live so great,
it's gonna be back. Like manypeople, yeah, they were felt
good last two days. Oh younever, I don't never really know how
it's gonna feel until I wake upthe next morning. But I was encouraged
by the last couple of days forsure, and it's the market moment to
(15:09):
take it over by Yes, that'sa good question. I think I'm fully
cleared for everything other than contact rightnow. That'll come in the next month
probably, But the snow rush seasondoesn't start for a while, so it's
when a good spot. So itfeels like these conversations are highlighted by bad
(15:33):
calls that are made in these spots. The uncertainty, you know, you
never whenever you have an injury toyour throwing side, You're never quite sure
how it's going to turn out atthe end. But I'm in a good
spot. I'm happy with where I'mat, and I'm gonna continue to get
better. You just let it go. Let it go. We're not going
to come back later, and we'regoing to switch this out to a little
(15:54):
bit better audio standby, OK,thank you so great, it's gonna be
back. Yeah, they were feltgood the last two days, so you
never, I don't never really knowhow it's gonna feel until I wake up
the next morning. But I wasencouraged by the last couple of days for
(16:17):
sure in terms that you've only clearedfor your rights, are I guess that's
a good question. I think I'mfully cleared for everything other than contact right
now. Uh, that'll come inthe next month probably, but it's no
(16:37):
rush season doesn't start for a while. So we're in a good spot.
That's the biggest challenge or challenges. It's injury and having drum the uncertainty.
You know, you never whenever youhave an injury to your throwing side,
you're never quite sure how it's gonnaturn out at the end. But uh,
I'm in a good spot. I'mhappy with where I'm at, and
I'm gonna continue to get better.I thank you. Oh yeah, how
(17:02):
much masters you put on? Howmuch where you can get So it looks
like we just lost Joe. Itmight be, you know, a really
good start to the season. Herehe's back. Now you're throwing side.
(17:22):
You're never quite sure how it's goingto turn out at the end. But
I'm in a good spot. I'mhappy with where I'm at, and I'm
going to continue to get better. How much you, oh yeah, how
much masters you put on from howmuch where you can get you work out?
How much? Yeah, We're bigger, definitely bigger. We'll see where
(17:45):
I'm at at the end of theoff season. Uh, you know,
I feel good about where my bodyis at right now. I'm going to
continue to get stronger and bigger throughoutthe off season, just kind of play
it by ear depending on how Ifeel. Like I said, I'm in
a good spot right now. I'mreally strong, you know, bigger than
I was. We're going to continueto eat right, lift and go through
(18:06):
my routine and see where I'm at. The mechanics when look pretty good.
Is that how helps you describe withthe panic program? Yeah, it's a
work in progress. You know,I've been thrown for about a month,
so uh, just like any offseason, you're working through some rust a
little more this year than in yearspast. But uh, you know,
I'm still working through everything footwork, arm path you know, the little intricacies
(18:30):
of of the throwing motion. That'ssomething that I'm I'm working through every day
and I'm going to continue to honeand improve at it's easier to keep going
mechanics intact. Even that it wasn'tthe l and body, Yeah I was.
I mean, I was definitely ableto continue to work on my footwork,
but it's always tough to work onthat for me when when you don't
see the results being the throw. So you can do all that and that's
(18:53):
great, but uh, you neverreally know how it's gonna work out until
you get the ball in your hand. You start wrong of what was to
build up through that as life.Yeah, it was about a month ago.
That would have been the beginning ofApril, so somewhere around there it
was. You know, this wasa difficult injury. It's been a tough
(19:18):
several months, but physically it's notthe worst injury that I've had. You
know, I've been through much muchtougher things physically, and so that's been
a positive. I've been able toreally lift and continue my off season program
kind of the way that it alwayshas been. You know, by the
time that came around, I waspretty much able to lift and do everything
(19:41):
that I needed to in the weightroom and conditioning. Why so, you
know, physically and conditioning wise,I feel really good. Every quarterback takes
to being bigger and over healthy whenyou grow and everyone takest year. I
don't know that's what we're gonna findout. That's kind of a work in
progress of of somebody's career. You'realways growing and learning, and I'm trying
(20:03):
something new this year. So we'llsee how I feel when when the season
rolls around and can't rolls around whenwe're on the field every day. Uh,
but I don't know the answer tothat. We're gonna find out.
Yeah, trying to focus on theon the little things that I've been working
on, you know, just likeevery off season. I'm working through mechanics,
(20:27):
things that I'm tweaking and honing, just like every year, and so
I'm I'm focused on that to tryto optimize and and make my throwing motion
and and my foework as efficient asI can. Uh. That's that's no
different than any other year. Yeah, I'm always going to continue to focus
(20:49):
on that. That's an area ofmy game that I always feel like I
can improve. So that's Uh,I haven't been able to do a ton
of that because that's kind of youknow, I've been able to do it
with my legs, but but that'skind of what we're starting now, is
the off platform stuff because that's kindof more risk involvement than I would say
just standing in the pocket and throwingwith perfect fundamentals. So that's kind of
(21:11):
the next step for me to continueto improve. All Right, that is
a part one today of Joe Burrowspeaking to the media down at a pay
course stadium. We will pick upthe rest of that and bring that to
you and our number three at thetop of our number three today, so
around two o'clock we'll get to therest of Joe Burrow. We'll have reaction
from that. Until now we're moving, We continue to evolve, we continue
(21:33):
to grow, We continue to lookfor great guests that can help us with
the Cincinnati sports scene, and MarkSheldon's going to try to do that when
we get back. A lot toget to with the Cincinnati Reds. On
the other side of this break, since he three to sixty ESPN fifteen thirty,
Cincinnati Sports Station, a service ofSkyline, Chile Loweggar, Let's pretend
that today is the day after theBengals voice of the Tri State Sports Fan
(21:57):
have just won the Super Bowl.Loegger today at three on ESPN fifteen thirty.
Visit us at Hollywood Cucinnati's ESPN fifteenthirty. Welcome back. It's centy
(22:17):
three to sixty ESPN fifteen thirty CincinnatiSports Station, a service of Skyline Jilly
moving along hour Number one from JoeBurrow QB one, which we'll hear more
from in our number three. ToMark Sheldon, who's covering the Reds for
MLB dot Com. Gracious with histime today to join us here now number
(22:37):
one? Mark? What's going on? How are you? I'm doing good,
although I'm intimidated. I have atough act to follow following the number
one celebrity Hall of Cincinnati and perhapsthe Tri State area. There you go,
there you go. It's a it'sa tall task. But this Reds
team is in all different areas rightnow, from the suspension to markde to
the injuries to players being the currentstruggles of the batting order, there's a
(23:03):
lot to get to. Let's startfrom a health standpoint, TJ. Friedel,
Matt McClain, some of the majorinjuries this team has dealt with.
Are we closer to getting any moreclarification on where these guys are at?
Uh? Yeah, I think we'llknow more about Friedel today. They haven't
made a roster move. They weregoing to have a meeting with him on
the phone on Sunday after the gamesfor both Louisville, and since the and
(23:29):
the Reds and Monday was a sharedoff, they both had off days,
it was possible he could come backas soon as today, but he always
only had four or five games atLouisville, so I want to guess he
might personally guess that he might needa couple more days, But it probably
will be sometime this week that wesee Freedel McClain. There they're saying it's
possible he could come back as earlyas August. He has another check in
(23:52):
appointment either yesterday or today out inLos Angeles with his surgeon that I'll probably
give them more clarity. But I'mnot that is bullish on that as others.
I think, I honestly think thatshoulder injuries are really hard to come
by. All you have to dois look at Joey Vado and ao Henio
Suarez from the last couple of years, and it's just not as cut and
(24:12):
dry as an elbow surgery. Nopun intended on the cut, So we'll
see what happens. But they boththey definitely missed both those guys, uh
and, but Friedo is definitely comingthe closest to being back another move that
this team made yesterday with Sam Mall, a pitcher who has been great in
(24:32):
his brief stint this year, butlooking back to last year with the Cincinnati
Reds, he was phenomenal as well. And as this team is now lasting
in this five game skid where pitchingis at a premium because the offense isn't
producing, sam Mall is the oneoption to triple A Louisville. What goes
behind a decision like that for theReds, Well, it's it's a numbers
(24:56):
decision. Honestly, he has optionsleft. And in a situation in that
bullpen where there's only three pitchers thatare available to be optioned without going through
the waiver wire, and that isFernando Cruz, who is they're arguably their
best reliever of the season, eventhough he had a bad outing his last
time out. The other one isthe closer, Alexis Diz. They're not
(25:17):
gonna send him out, and neitherBuck Farmer or Justin Wilson, who are
on one year contracts, have doneanything necessarily to be to warrant getting let
go, knowing that they might getpicked up if they try to expose him
to the waiver wire. So Maulis the safest guy to let go down
to Louisville. And that's just kindof how it is. It stinks for
(25:38):
him because he's been pitching well.He doesn't deserve it, but sometimes you
have to do what you have todo. If the Reds are able to
play tonight, it was Frankie Montasscheduled to go. This is a guy
that started the season fantastic in hisfirst two outings, struggle a little bit
since that April twenty first takes theline drive off the y eelbow. His
(26:00):
progression through missing a couple starts andwhat you're expecting getting Frankie Muntoss back on
the mound. I mean, sofar, everything that's looked good. He's
thrown a couple of bullpen sessions, but there's no way to really know until
he gets gets on the mound inthe game. Uh. You know,
every pitcher is not going to beperfect or great every time out. Yes,
he had two really good outings, two not so much. Uh,
(26:22):
then he gets hit. It happens, but I would anticipate he'll be ready.
I don't know what he's gonna do, but uh, he's been he's
been dependable. For them. Theyreally need need him to help kind of
stop this losing streak. Although Iwill say that none of the starting pitchers
that have been pitching during the streakhave done poorly. They've they've all done
pretty well. This really is anissue with the hitting, and if the
(26:45):
hitting can support the starting pitching, this can turn around. That's the The
key for me is the start thehitting, because if you look at the
statistics that the pitching staff has beenfine. You know, you could argue
different starts here and there, maybesome bullpen letdowns, but for the most
part, the pitching I think hasbeen a winning performance for the Reds this
(27:06):
year offensively, and I get thatthis is it's always talked about with the
idea, Well, there's no McClain, there's no Freedole, Guys have been
sick, Guys have missed the lineupdue to two different reasons. Could you
have imagined sitting here on May seventh, talking about statistically the worst offense in
Major League Baseball. Well, it'sjust weird because they were doing so well
(27:30):
for most of most of April. They had a winning month of April.
So it's usually when you have awinning month of April you don't look at
the you know't look like you're goingto have the worst hitting lineup or the
worst hitting team and all of baseball. So that is a little bit of
a of a contradiction. But really, if you look at it, they
haven't really hit well even in April, other than l Ad la Cruz for
(27:51):
the most maybe the best hit thatthey had all of April. Spencer's year
was really strong coming out of thegate, and then he started struggling,
and they just I think with Eliede la Cruz, he's kind of the
straw that stirs to drink, andhe when he struggled, they struggled,
and they have to get other peopleto support him. He's not going to
be great every game and other guysneed to step up. I think the
(28:11):
biggest surprises are Jamber Candelario, whois supposed to be kind of the veteran
glue, the stable guy to keepeverything kind of together when young guys go
up and down. He hasn't hitat all. He's been terrible. And
then you look at you know,Tyler Stevenson's hitting the ball hard, but
he's not having a lot of results. Guys like Jake Freiley, he just
got out of an zero for twenty. Will Benson's been struggling after a nice
(28:34):
little start, so they need otherguys to step up. It's not as
simple as dey La Cruz doing well. He can't carry them the entire season
and be successful. But other guysjust aren't hitting, and they're striking out
way too much. They have thei think the third highest strikeout rate in
baseball. They're just they got tofind ways to get the bat on the
ball and make things happen because they'resuch an athletic team and speed. If
(28:56):
they can get on base, theycan make things happen. But you can't
make anything happen you strike out.Spending a few more minutes here with Mark
Sheldon covering the Reds for MLB dotCom. The question we've asked on this
show, and I think now whenyou look at twenty percent of the season,
it's a fair one. If notnow win as an organization, do
you maybe hit the panic button alittle bit on? Okay, it's more
(29:18):
than just a slump. It's becomingan identity or who this team is.
They're striking out at a high rate. They're not forcing a lot of walks
when would the panic button set infor this team. There is no panic
button in this team. That's justkind of how they've been. Even during
the stinky, stinky year of twentytwenty two, they kind of kept their
cool. As bad as it was. They lost one hundred games, but
(29:38):
they started out three and twenty twoand didn't fold. Last season, you
may remember they were obviously hit itto the end, but they had a
couple of long losing streaks. Ithink they had a six game losing streak,
and I think they may have hadan eight game losing streak mixed up
in there, and they stayed inthere till the end. So I don't
think you know, over one hundredand sixty two game season you can you
say panic because unlike the NFL,where you may have two or three losses
(30:02):
and that can immediately doing your chancesof making the playoffs, it's just not
like that. The central divisions wideopen. Other than the brewersh we are
playing really well. The other teamsare pretty much kind of going up and
down. So I think I thinkthere's more than enough time to rally and
get this right. They just haveto start hitting mark. We saw the
San Diego Padres make a move whenthey acquired Luisa Rise from the Miami Marlins,
(30:25):
maybe the first domino to fall fora team that is selling in Miami.
Do you expect the Reds to maybego after some guys if this slump
continues, to try to maybe tradeor part ways with some prospects to get
somebody in that can hit. Icould see that happening, maybe a little
closer to the deadline, but Iwouldn't rule anything out in the next couple
of months, either because you don'tknow how long this is going to last,
(30:48):
or you don't know what kind ofleather injuries they may have. They
don't have a lot of depth toTriple A, so going down to Triple
A and getting somebody is just notan option for them. There's no Aunt
McLean's or Ellie mel La daylect issitting and TRIPLEA waiting to come up,
So they need to know solvent fromthe dinner and go outside the organization.
And they have a lot of prospectcapital further down in the system, so
(31:11):
they do have guys they could moveif they need to, but I think
they just have to kind of waitand see how bad this gets and then
make a decision right now. Fivegames is not a place to, you
know, sound the alarms and yousay code read and we got to do
something. It's they can wait alittle bit longer as someone who's there every
day talking to these guys. What'sthe attitude, like, what's the morale
(31:33):
in the clubhouse going through a stretchlike this. The morale's good. I
can say that. I don't seeguys like going after each other any issues
like that. The one area thata couple of hitters now have said,
both Spenser Steer and Jake Freiley,as they are pressing, everyone's trying to
solve the trouble themselves. And youmay remember last season they were seven and
(31:56):
fifteen, they got blanked by thePirates in Pittsburgh. They held the team
meeting and they figured out I guessthe core thing is everybody just take your
turn, and if you don't doit, the next guy will get you.
And don't try to solve a losingstreak by trying to hit a twenty
run home run. They aren't gonnahappen. So if they can kind of
(32:16):
keep their cool and just keep passingit down, eventually this will pick up.
And that's kind of I think whatthey need to get back to in
twenty twenty four because it really didwork for them in twenty twenty three when
they looked like the season was goingto go down the drain in the in
the first couple of weeks and itdidn't. Where where is this team right
now without Elie de la Cruz.I mean, we we've talked about what
(32:37):
the numbers could be. Spencer Steeergot off to a great start. He's
under two hundred and as the lastthirty thirty days. There's not a ton
of protection right now in the lineupfor Elie de la Cruz, and yet
he continues to do things on anightly basis that has just not seen.
I know the pressure that he applieson the base paths, But what's been
the most impressive part of the startin your opinion for La day Cruise.
(33:00):
I mean there's a couple one andhe's drawing walks, which is something you
wouldn't have maybe thought he could dobased on what he was doing last year.
He still strikes out quite a bit, and part of that is because
he doesn't have protection, and it'salso just the way he's hitting to all
fields. He's not just trying topower the ball into the seats by pulling
it. He's hitting the opposite fieldhomers. He's also hitting well right handed,
(33:23):
which was a big weakness for himlast year. So he's doing a
lot of things that he wasn't ableto do during his last two months of
the season when he wasn't very good, and he's finding ways to beat teams
with his patience. He's waiting onthe ball a little longer, He's made
some approach adjustments which have seemed tobe working for him, and he's doing
(33:43):
well. But he, like Isaid earlier, he's kind of the guy
that makes the team go and withhis ability, but he certainly can't do
it alone. The idea, andto kind of piggyback on Austin's question of
the morale in the clubhouse when youdo have a younger team, one of
the questions we've had is who isthat voice, who is that leader in
(34:05):
the clubhouse? And I go backto I mentioned yesterday. I thought Miguel
Cairo, Scott Rowland, those teamswhere they may have not been producing a
ton on the field, but youknew you had a locker room guy and
there's all the conversations. Last yearyou see Joey Vado working with Elie de
la Cruz or Joey Vado on theiPad with Will Benson. Are they missing
that player right now in the lockerroom or do they have that player in
(34:27):
the clubhouse. They have a fewthey last year and this year. They
have Luke Malee who is a veryoutspoken leader. They have Jake Freeley,
who detheway is a talker. JamerCandelaria was intended to be a leader.
I haven't seen that yet. Asfar as you know, he's obviously not
doing well. It's hard to leadwhen you're not hitting well. On the
(34:50):
pitching side, they added Frankie Montaswho's been a huge influence on the pitchers
and both in his work ethic andjust the way he kind of relates to
everybody. Frankie Montag is every bitof a leader on that team, and
so is Brent Suiter. So theyhave guys in that clubhouse that are veterans
that have been around, that havebeen through losing streaks, that have been
to the playoffs. They've been throughit all, and so I don't think
(35:13):
there's a lack of clubhouse leadership MarkSheldon MLB dot com covering the Cincinnati Reds.
Mark, what is the easiest wayto follow along with your coverage of
the Cincinnati Reds. Well, goodness, I have a few obviously reads dot
com MLB dot com you can followme. I have a Facebook page I
think it's Sheldon MLB, which isalso my Instagram page, and of course
(35:35):
on Twitter X it's m underscore Sheldon. And you can also subscribe to my
newsletter if you go on the redsite, there's a place where you can
subscribe and every Wednesday and Sunday you'llhave something sent to your inbox. Awesome,
awesome stuff. Mark, thank youso much for your time today and
get this thing turned around with theReds here. Appreciate you as always.
We'll talk soon. Thanks, Tonyand Austin have a great day. Yes,
sir, thank you about that,Mark Sheldon. I'm very trying to
(35:59):
get Mark on the show for liketwo weeks, yeah, and our schedules
just could never aligne And then hewas like, let me, let me
be the one to follow Joe.Yeah, and you know it takes guts
to follow the Bengals quarterback who spokefor almost half an hour beautiful while all
that was happening. Some good stuffwe can get to with Joe later.
(36:19):
But you know, I thought itwas interesting what Mark said there is that
there is no panic button with thisteam. And I don't know if people
wanted to hear that or if ifthat's a surprise. I do believe.
I do think they believe in theirprocess and they believe in their people,
and I think it's just kind ofpart of a one and sixty two game
(36:40):
season that you you were going togo through this stuff. I agree with
that, but I also thought itwas interesting, you know, asking about
the leadership or the morale. Themorale is low and we've asked a lot
Austin even going into the two City'sgood, but they're addressing, but they're
pressing. Yeah, but to havethat the player, and I think we've
been waiting for this, Who isthat leader. It's hard to be the
(37:00):
vocal guy when you're not producing. It's also hard to be the vocal guy
when you're the young guy, right, So yeah, you know what,
Jamer Candelario on paper would be aguy like that. But you know,
we we've played sports before. Whenyou go when you got someone up there
that's yelling or ranting and you're like, well, what are you doing?
Well, that's what are you doingat the play? Well that's the thing.
If they all stink, then theycan be leaders. Yeah, you
(37:22):
know you can't. Who's going tobe the one to say, okay,
this is no longer accept If Candelariogets up there and he's trying to say
let's go, let's go, let'sgo, well, then you know,
Christian and caronassian Strand can't look athim and say, well, what are
you doing at the plate? Sure, and Jonathan India can't say, well,
what are you doing at the plate? Is to environment? None of
them are hitting. So that's whenyou got to put the egos aside and
(37:45):
be like, listen, you gotto come together. And I thought that
the story he told about last yearwas was pertinent where they just kind of
came together as a team and waslike, let's just do our job,
let's move on to the next guy, let's not press and let's not push,
and let's not make it worse onourselves. Ended up having a good
effect and maybe that's maybe the directionwe're heady, that's what we needed,
that's what the Reds needed, We'regonna take a break, we'll come back.
(38:07):
We'll wrap up our number one TonyKhan to start off our number two,
Big Towns Hawkbacks, and as Austinjust said there, we got a
bunch of Joe Burrow still to getto. We'll get to that at the
start of our number three as well. Cinty three sixty A service of Skyline

as well. Rick is our residentwrestling guy. Rick is responsible for the

(39:21):
and we're very, very thankful andgrateful that Rick is able to do that
to help us out. Talkbacks comingup in our number two more Joe Burrow
Moagger, who I can't even imagineat this point. Austin Mowager's got to
be walking on clouds today. HisNew York Knicks take care of business last
night. Jalen Brunts another forty pluspoint game, like the shoes or yeah,
he's he might be barefoot just walkingon sunshine to day, given though
(39:44):
there's zero sun. Do you havea pair of the uncloud shoes? No,
I don't. I'm starting to seethem everywhere. I did get my
wife a pair, like during thepregnancy, and she thinks they're the best
things ever. That's what everybody says. Who has them? Yep, I've
never tried him before. Yeah, but I am starting to to see them
everywhere on Cloud. Yeah, onCloud we have plenty more. It's also
(40:07):
worth noting, Austin. How aboutour guys, Snoop Dogg, Snoop Deal.
Snoop got his own bowl game?Who's it sponsored by? It's sponsored
by gin and juice. I thoughtthat was a drink, but that's a
brand. Apparently I don't know anythingabout this stuff. Apparently, apparently Snoop
Dogg's got that and it is uhon Life Television. It is the week
(40:30):
that we've talked about a lot whenwe talk FC Cincinnati. This is the
week everything goes to it's hell isreal and this rivalry took on a whole
new meaning last year with the waythe season ended for FC Cincinnati. What
was it the worst lead in insoccer? Well, the most dangerous lead
in sports is to nothing to nil. Not great. And by the way,
(40:54):
Columbus just did the same thing toBrandon Vasquez again. Oh really,
because they're still playing in that ChampionsCup thing. Oh really, FC got
bounced early in the year and theywent down and played Vasquez team and Monterey
went up to nil and then Columbusone. Oh so tough scenes for Brandon
(41:15):
Vasquez. Hell is real, though, so looking to avenge that loss in
the first meeting since the Eastern Conferencefinal. Hell is absolutely real. We'll
find out more about that when weget back, well not the back.
We'll talk to Tommy G this week, although we're both off Friday. Are
we going to try to get Tommyon Thursday? We could try that.
It's Rick Uccino speaking of Rick Richmanto take this show on Friday, Ricky
(41:37):
ballgame, Ricky ball Game, Rickyringside. So maybe we'll have to see
Charlie or Tommy g to do Thursday, or we passed them off to Rick
as well on Friday. We'll seewhat happens. All right, let's break,
We'll bring in rick Yucino. We'llgive Tony Conna call all when we
get back. Since he three tosixty ESPN fifteen to thirty Cincinnati Sports Station,

Rick Uchino comes through in a bigway for us. He is doing so
now. Rick has tagged into mefor this segment and he's introducing our guest
right now. Tone, I appreciatethe time, yea, And you know
I appreciate you. You let meget our guest on. We're two tone
here, we got two Tony's yeson the line here, of course,
(43:10):
the Great Tony Pike, greatest quarterbackin the history of UC football. And
we are also now joined on theline by the owner, CEO and president
of All Elite Wrestling, Tony Khan, the star of the NFL Draft.
Sir, thank you so much foryour time. How you doing today,
I'm doing very well. It's greatto be on with you, and it's
an honor to be on talking awwrestling and hopefully football with the Great Tony
(43:36):
Pike. I'm a huge fan Tony. I appreciate that one. How are
you health wise? How are you? We saw you on Draft night,
we saw you in the neck brace. Have you healed? Are you feeling
better since the NFL Draft? Well, I'm covering. I'm really dealing with
coming off the most dangerous move inpro wrestling, the spike pile driver.
I'm not a wrestler, I'm anexecutive, and it's a lot I have
(44:00):
been recovering from that. Obviously,I was at in Jacksonville to the NFL
Draft, and that's where I amnow, and I'm doing better and can't
wait till I'll be able to goback on the road for the wrestling shows.
But there's worse places to be andthan Jacksonville's, you know, a
great place to be recovering. Ireally am very fortunate to be in such
(44:22):
a great place as Jacksonville, Florida. You are not going to be on
the road for AEW Dynamite, Butthe show does go on Tomorrow night live
from Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, airtime eight pm on TBS.
A lot of great actions. Oneof my personal favorites Adam Copeland defending
his TNT championship against Brody King tomorrow. We'll we'll get to, you know,
(44:44):
the the wrestling side of things herein a little bit. I do
want to there's something I've always wantedto to ask you anytime we've had a
chance to converse in the past, and we've always been like, really show
focused. Not to run down yourentire resume here, but you here the
as I said, the owner, operator, president, CEO, everything of
(45:04):
all Elite Wrestling and Ring of Honor, by the way, so there's two
separate promotions there under the con umbrella. But you're also the senior president of
Football and Analytics for the Jacksonville Jaguarsand Director of Football Operations for Fulham FC
over in the Premier League. Man, how do you balance everything? And
when do you sleep? I wishI got more time to sleep. But
the truth is, I'm very fortunateand blessed with all the great things that
(45:28):
I get to do. I lovethe work, I love working in the
Premier League, and I love NFLfootball and everything it entails. We do
Saturday shows now with AW on TNT, and we're on every weekend on TNT,
and we're on every Wednesday night onTBS, just like Tomorrow Night Wednesday
Night Dynamite on TBS. And onething that's changed a little bit. I'm
(45:52):
still doing a ton of college footballscouting, but I don't get to go
on the road on Saturdays as muchas I used to, and I love
everything I get to do. It'sa big juggle between the NFL, the
Premier League, and the AEW wrestling, but it's great and you know,
even coming there to Cincinnati, I'mmultitasked before, you know, been at
(46:15):
Bearcatch game scouting, working the phones, signing players from the Premier League,
and planning the wrestling shows all atthe same time. And you know,
it's one of my favorite things todo is get ready for the NFL Draft,
which we just had, and it'sa great time of the year now
is rookie Mini camp and bringing thenew football players in. But there's no
(46:38):
off season in professional wrestling AEW.We go fifty two weeks a year,
so that's a lot different than whatI'm doing in football. I'm sure you
are very excited not to have toplay the Bengals in the regular season this
year because this Joe Burrow Come BackTour is about to be absolutely vicious.
But the Jaguars have had a veryproductive offseason in Eric Armstead, Gabe Davis,
(47:01):
Ronald Darby, a few others.Do you see product, Joseph Dgwara.
You know, what were the goalsfor the off season to reshape this
roster to get back to the postseasonthis year? And do you feel like
you hit those goals? Yes?I think we have a really strong roster.
We've got a great coach, andwe have a lot of the things
(47:22):
it takes to play winning football herein Jacksonville. Now, we have some
really really great players to build around. We just extended our top pass rusher
Josh Allen, who set the franchiserecord for sacks last year for the Jaguars,
and we've got some really exciting draftpicks coming in. I think,
like you said, you know, made some big moves in free agency,
(47:44):
and we're building around a top youngquarterback in Trevor Lawrence. We really believe
in Trevor Lawrence, and I thinkwe've gotten better on both sides of the
ball and special teams here and reallyputting weapons around Trevor. I think we
had a great first round draft pickand we were able to stack up more
picks for the future. So alot of really exciting things happening here now
(48:05):
in Jacksonville, Tony. For thewrestling fan that may not know as much.
You look at the NBA, there'sa developmental league. You look at
Major League Baseball, there is thefarm systems. You look in the NFL,
there's the practice squad where you havea chance to constantly develop the talent
or the younger players that you're goingto need for the future. With aw
(48:27):
is there something like that in placeor is there something that crosses from the
sport to the sports entertainment world inwrestling to where you can develop players or
develop wrestlers to get them ready forthe main roster as it goes. Yeah,
it's a great question. We've hada series called aw Dark on YouTube,
(48:49):
and when we got more additional programmingadded to TNT and TBS that meant
the end of that show. Theyasked us to stop doing it and do
all the AWTV on TBS and TNTnetworks. And one thing that worked out
great is I acquired another wrestling promotionwe just briefly mentioned it, Ring Them
(49:10):
Honor. I bought that from Sinclair. It's a great company with twenty years
of history. It's not as bigof a company as AW, but it's
an important company. A lot ofthe biggest names havereled wrestled in Ring them
Honor and had great careers there. They had a great video librariy, some
valuable trademarks, and I've relaunched thebrand and some of the top young stars
(49:34):
come out of there. You seebig names that will come to AW.
It's also we have some top veteransthere working with the young stars, so
they're getting experienced competition and learning fromthem and learning from those matches and those
experiences. So Ring of Honor hassome of that top young talent and AW
(49:54):
is a top destination in pro wrestling. We've built up this great challenger brand
in AW and it's a destination nowfor fans and wrestlers from all over the
world. You know, the showis on in over one hundred and fifty
countries now. It's pretty amazing.Yeah, piggybacking off that. You know,
(50:15):
the roster for it's an eclectic bunch, right, Like you have veterans
Hall of famers like Adam Copeland,Christian Cage, Brian Danielson. Of course
I got to bring up Cincinnati's ownJohn Moxley. But you do have a
bevy of young, hungry, upand comers. Who are some of those
guys or girls frankly that you lookat now and go, Okay, yeah,
(50:36):
they're going to be something really, really special in a couple of years.
Well, it's a great question.I think we have some top young
men and women here right now.In terms of young stars, I think
that with the men, we havea young wrestler named Hook. He's the
son of the legendary Taz. He'sa top young star. I'm really impressed
(50:58):
with Hook and what he does, and our fans all over the world love
him already. He's tremendous. Wehave a young wrestler named Daniel Garcia who
continues to impress in big matches inmain events, a rising star who has
arrived in aw named will Osprey, who I think is maybe the best wrestler
in the world, and the Americanfans are still getting familiar with will Osprey
(51:22):
because he spent most of his careerin Japan and the UK, which is
where he's from. And we havesome of the top women's wrestlers here too,
young, really really prodigy named BillyStarks who is from the area actually
and also Billy Starks, she isa champion in Ring of Honor at the
(51:45):
age of nineteen years old and reallyimpressive. And some great young women wrestling
here now, including young Anna Jaywho keeps getting better and Mariah May who,
speaking of wrestlers from the UK,has come over and done a fantastic
job for us in AEW. Sowe have a great young roster here,
a lot of young people I'm reallyimpressed by. And also you mentioned some
(52:06):
of the top veteran stars in theworld, some of the biggest names in
wrestling like Brian Danielson, Samoa,Joe, John Moxley, and many others,
including you mentioned Adam Copeland. He'sgoing to be wrestling a big championship
match versus Brody King tomorrow night onCBS on Wednesday Night Dynamite and getting to
(52:27):
see big stars like Adam Copeland everyWednesday on TBS. That's why people love
aw Tony. I've been a lifelongwrestling fan. Our guy Rick Uchino here
could a test that I have beena diehard aw fan since you guys got
started. For listeners. For theaverage fan that has dabbled in wrestling or
getting back into wrestling. I tryto explain in a sense that from an
(52:50):
in match standpoint, AEW is incredible. How would you explain the difference in
what AEW is bringing on a weekto week basis versus what other wrestling company
may bring. Absolutely, I reallyappreciate you giving me the opportunity, man.
AW. We have what I believeis the most exciting matches, and
(53:13):
we have great stories happening, andwe're really a challenger brand. We're fighting
against an establishment, and we've builta huge fan base in a pretty quick
time, people that love the fastpaced, exciting action and the interviews.
You know, in AW, Ithink people really feel a connection with the
(53:35):
wrestlers. We don't script the interviewshere. People go out, they're talking
about maybe they got bullet points andkey pieces of information they're trying to get
out, but it feels like you'rehearing a real person talk, which isn't
always the way it feels in someof the competition interviews. I think that's
one major difference. And I thinkour biggest strength is the quality of our
(53:57):
athletes and the charisma of our bigstars. Some of the biggest names in
wrestling. I mentioned some of themalready are in AW and there's a reason
why these big free agents want tocome here to AW. It's because this
is where the best wrestle. Oneof the best wrestlers in the world,
(54:17):
in my opinion, is somebody wehave not yet seen get to compete in
AW but that day is very quicklyapproaching. Of course, I'm talking about
Mercedes Monette. I am absolutely thrilledto get to see her do her thing
once again. You know, she'sbeen in the company for a while now,
a lot of different TV appearances, but how anxious are you and ready
(54:42):
are you to see her finally inan AW ring coming up here in a
couple of weeks at your next bigpay per view event. I'm so excited
for Mercedes Monette arriving in AW recentlyand I cannot wait for her first match.
She is one of the greatest championin wrestling. She's won titles all
over the world and she is agreat choice to come in here and challenge
(55:07):
for the TBS Championship. We havea great champion, Willow Nightingale, and
the winner of this match will bethe face of TBS, and I think
whoever wins that match at AW Doubleor Nothing, We're going to have a
great TBS champion, and I knowMercedes Monett is gunning for that title.
And it's a personal issue as well, because Mercedes has been out for a
(55:30):
year. In fact, by thetime Double or Nothing rolls around later this
month Memorial Day weekend, when Mercedesdebuts in AAW, she will have been
out of the ring for over oneyear and it's from injuries she sustained wrestling
against Willow Nightingale and New Japan ProWrestling. So I think Mercedes has a
(55:51):
lot to be a lot to befocused on here and I can't wait for
the debut of Mercedes. She's oneof the biggest stars in wrestling. We're
very fortunate to have her in AWand she's going to be great for us.
Tony, how important this industry, you know? Because there's one thing
to be a part of something orhave your hand in something, there's another
(56:14):
point to lead in an industry. In the times I've seen AEW and Cincinnati,
you're there and you're speaking to thecrowd, and you are you're exuding
the energy and the passion. Howmuch of this is what you've grown up
and you love to be a partof versus it's your job. Very rarely
do those things get to be intertwined. To have such passion about something you
(56:34):
love and it also be your job. How exciting, just personally, How
exciting is this for you to beable to get to so many events,
to see so many venues, tospeak to so many crowds and see a
great product. What a great question, sir. I love pro wrestling very
much and it's a dream come truewhenever I can go to a great city,
great city like Cincinnati, be ina great town like Cincinnati or Louisville,
(56:59):
and address fans and watch great wrestlingand bring the wrestling to the fans
that want it. It's my favoritething in the world. And when we
launched AW, this was the dreamand we're living it. And I consider
myself super fortunate every single day thatwe've been able to create AW and make
(57:19):
it happen and bring the wrestling tothe fans on TBS every Wednesday night.
It's insane, and now we've expandedwe have TNT on the weekends too.
It's awesome and I never take itfor granted. Tomorrow night and all this
week we're doing shows in Canada. They've got great fans up there. I'm
really excited about what we're doing.Of course, with me being injured,
(57:44):
it would be easy to lose someof the love for the profession. But
frankly, I love this sport somuch and that's why I do it for
love of the game. And youknow, that's why I wanted to work
through the NFL Draft in the nextgrace, because that's really important to me
too. And I love working infootball, I love working in wrestling and
(58:04):
feel very blessed to be able todo those things now, Tony, you
said fairly recently that it would behighly unlikely that AW fans would ever see
you personally get in the ring. But now that members of your own roster,
your own EVPs Matthew and Nicholas Jacksonas well as Jack Perry have punched
you with a microphone and spiked yourhead into the canvas, starline may dictate
(58:30):
here down the line for TK tothrow down personally. Have you given any
additional thought to getting some reps inthe ring. I know you've got some
really talented guys who could show yousome things and wrestling either, Matthew Nicholas
or Jack Perry down the line.Well, adw is where the best wrestle,
(58:50):
and we mean that, and that'swhy I want to make sure that
the fans get the best matches, the best action. And in this case,
I'm not the best person to paythose people back. I think there
are a lot of things I'm goodat behind the scenes, but somebody else
is going to have to go avengewith those guys did not only to me,
(59:14):
but to Kenny Omega. And KennyOmega actually has a big announcement tomorrow
night on the show. That'll beimportant, and I think that will be
of great interest to the elite.Of course, last week Kenny Omega returned
to AW and his former best friends, the Young Bucks put him on the
shelf, tried to send him awaypermanently this time, but they did not
(59:37):
succeed. And we'll have an announcementfrom Kenny Omega tomorrow. And I'm quite
sure there are more capable wrestlers thanI am that can inflict some of that
punishment on the Young Bucks and JackPerry and Okada, the elite. Hey,
don't undersell your abilities, all right. If I was able to get
in the ring and actually have amatch. I'm sure you could do the
(59:59):
same. Well, it's possible, but I want to have great matches in
AW and again, totally fair afterwhat happened to me last time, I
don't think I'd be making a smartmove trying that, but I do think
we are going to make smart movesin AW And like I said, AW
is where the best wrestle and Iwant to keep it that way. Tony.
(01:00:20):
Since I have known Rick Uccino,he has been pounding the pavement to
get pay per view to Cincinnati,to get a pay per view event to
the city of Cincinnati, the wrestlingfan base here, the history of wrestling
in Cincinnati. Is that something thatbecomes a priority or something that you guys
have noticed when you've come to Cincinnati, when you've seen the crowds, to
one day, hopefully sometime soon, get a pay per view back to Cincinnati.
(01:00:45):
I do think it's a great idea. Cincinnati's on a list of cities
I think would be a great homefor a first time pay per view city.
We could really do some special thingsthere. You got great fans in
Cincinnati, and we have one oneof the greatest stars in AW maybe the
biggest star in AW happens to befrom Cincinnati and a hometown hero, and
(01:01:07):
when John Moxley is one of yourtop stars, I think it makes a
lot of sense for a wrestling companyto do a pay per view in Cincinnati.
So eventually that's something I would loveto do. We kind of have
the calendar locked in for the restof the year, but I think it's
definitely something to keep an eye on, and it's a great idea. I
really appreciate you bringing it up.I would love to bring more Big AW
(01:01:28):
events to Cincinnati. I'll make sureto keep bringing it up and keep reminding
you on any kind of you know, conference call or anything I get to
do with you. Tony. It'salways a pleasure to get to chat with
you. Thank you so much forspending some time with us, and you
know we'll we'll keep pounding the tablehere. Makes make sure people tune into
Dynamite tomorrow night on TBS starting ateight o'clock. Thank you so much,
Tony, Thank you man. Godbless you guys. God bless you guys.
(01:01:50):
Thank you so much. Absolutely therehe is Tony Kahn. Wow to
Tone. He brought the Lord intothis, He brought the Lord, he
brought the bow. Him and FernandoCruz have gifts from God. Awesome stuff,
man, what a chance, uhRick, thank you for setting that
up anytime. Awesome to get achance to talk to Tony Kahan Austin.
(01:02:12):
I was noticing while that interview washappening. Is it like ten o'clock outside
right now? It is very cowI was starting to get concerned. Yeah,
we've had a lot of severe weather. Yeah, over the last fifteen
or so minutes while you boys havebeen on the phone. So everybody stay
safe out there. Yeah, Iwas gonna drive home. I think I'm
gonna go take a nap in astudio. The earthcam pulled up downtown Cincinnati
(01:02:37):
looks wet, but moments ago therewas lightning everywhere. You couldn't even see
the camera, and I believe thatis now moving north to where we are
here at Kenwood. So well, let's locked down careful out there. There
are advanced risks of tornadoes this afternoonand this evening. That's why we don't
think the Red Legs are gonna play, but be prepared. There we go,
(01:02:59):
all right, That was same jobevery hour two Tony Kahn, Rick
Uccino myself. That's Austin Ellmore willbe back your talkbacks on sincey three sixty
a service of Cincy shirts on ESPNfifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station. Now your
chance to win it out though, let me hear you good loud oh wld
(01:03:20):
h too ah free. Let's listento some talk backs, well, listen
to the clouds. Get me abuddetant Suprack Jones. We hope those other
two diver come back over. It'srout fo totally ashing comes close to the
(01:03:51):
show. We got hack right,Hello the stars over talk by sh come
on, let's go, Thanks,Harry. It'd be nice if the Reds
were to win. It is scaryoutside. Yeah, it seems to have
(01:04:12):
cleared up downtown a little bit,but up here in our neck of the
woods horrifying. Before we get intoour talkback, do you want to give
our our Bengals update, well, former Bengal update. Yeah, a little
bit of breaking news we didn't havetime to get to. Tyler Boyd has
found a home TB going to tN oh. Tyler Boyd has signed a
one year deal worth four and ahalf million dollars to be a member of
(01:04:36):
the Tennessee Titans, so he joinsup with Brian Callahan, Will Levis,
DeAndre Hopkins and others to be apart of that Tennessee offense in Nashville.
Let's go there, you go,Let's go an espresso machine and a dog.
(01:05:10):
No, dude, it's ne EspressoEspress Espresso. Hey, I missed
yesterday's show because I was a colonoscopy. Anyway, I was just wonder how
many apologies and excuses everybody made forthe Reds for the weekend. I think
you should go get another one andlisten to the PODCASTA Matters guy. I
(01:05:32):
thought I would try to leave anothertalkback because my talkbacks, for some reason,
are no longer accept it. Yousay a lot of stupid stuff.
I don't understand why I play bythe rules. I cannot understand how if
a listener is taking time out ofhis day to listen to your show,
as long as we're not by anatingrules, why don't we get our talk
(01:05:54):
talkbacks on? Isn't that the wayyou grow your show? Great question?
Hello, Hello, you just gotit played, and you just wasted thirty
seconds of everyone's time. That's whymost of the time you're wasting time.
You're not saying something original, you'renot saying something funny, or you're saying
something that we've already talked about. This happens constantly. My job is to
put the best content on the air. There are a lot of talkbacks that
(01:06:16):
don't get played. The reason forthat is because they are not the best
content we can offer. There aresome of them that get played that end
up being terrible too, But mostof the time you don't provide anything worth
playing. Brandon from Anderson five tena Buck ninety, it's a different show.
And if you guys will stop talkingabout Skyline and Penstation, that Buck
(01:06:40):
ninety is going to be two twelve. I got one for the did you
know? Guy? Did you know? In his collegiate career at Georgia,
Amarius Mims had three hundred and seventytwo pass blocking snaps and did not allow
a sack on a single one ofthem. Man, what's a good thing
there? You go, God,Evan, everybody, they can think me
(01:07:01):
now. The reason Joe Burrow's handhealed so quickly is because of law and
also, hey Tony, Hey Austen, are you going to be having a
remote location for the schedule release? You do everything else off site. I
wish we got to do more offsite. God Justice, Holy Grail. Let
(01:07:25):
us know. It'd be nice ifwe could figure out when the schedule was
going to be released. The plans, as far as I know, is
for Tony and Moe and Lance tobe together off site for the schedule release
that will probably be on WLW.But we don't know when that release will
happen right. There are some rumorsthat it's going to happen in two days,
(01:07:46):
there are some rumors that it's goingto happen in ten days. We
don't know for sure, but it'sa good chance to remind you that we
will be live at the Holy Grailtwelve to three pm on May twenty fourth,
that's a Friday, and our goodfriends at since the Light made this
possible, Uh and Ryan Geist. So we're gonna go to the Holy Grail
(01:08:08):
May twenty fourth, twelve to threelive and then a few hours later across
the street Reds Dodgers at the ballparkcelebrating my birthday. It can be wonderful.
See hello, this is former PresidentRonald Regan and well Injuries giveth and
(01:08:31):
Injuries taketh away. It's really ashait. Hold on, let me get
to a better audio source here therethat's better. It's really a shame how
injuries can make or break a season. Yeah, the Bengals went through it
last year and the Reds this year. But there's hope on the horizon with
the return of Montas and Burrow.Come on, now, first, I
(01:08:54):
don't know how to explain this.We have a thing here on our board
that allows us to go directly tothe microphone at pay Corpse Stadium. And
when I did that, I wasgetting somehow audio of ESPN Radio and pay
Corp Stadium. It wasn't great. We'll try to fix We fixed them,
Tonyajai, I'm not healthy here.I want to shake things up and let's
(01:09:19):
see some fun things for the talkbackers. May twenty fourth, that's a Friday.
Oh, I will be at theReds games American Ballpark. Wo go
Reds. I will have a twentyfive dollars Skyline gift card on me that
I will give to the first talkbackerthat can find me at the ballpark.
(01:09:41):
They come in the coming days. There you go? How about this plan
is to be at the bow TieBar where we typically are and maybe John
will be there. How about this, when are we gonna as a fan
base, which I know is unpopularand I might get, you know,
trash for this, But say thatJohnathan India isn't very good. I mean
he's not good defensively, and forthe past two years he hasn't really hit.
(01:10:05):
Outside of his rookie year where hedid really well, he almost seems
like he's regressing and not progressing.M he's just not very good. Everyone
loves him, I do you knowwhat, It's just I don't think you
could make that argument from a teamstandpoint. The development from year to year
has been lacking and needs to bebetter. Yeah. I don't know that
(01:10:26):
anyone is out there saying Jonathan Indiais an All Star or Jonathan India is
one of the great players in MajorLeague Baseball. I think he's just okay,
and I think people liked what heyou know, showed that he could
be his rookie year, and hehasn't lived up to the hype since then.
Sure, I don't have anything toadd other than shout out to Audie
(01:10:48):
for putting Curtis Mayfield move on upinto the intro music. So good,
so good. I have no ideawhat he's talking about. Well, there
you go. I did not playany Curtis Mayfield. Just a note for
the Pacers fans wanting about the refslast night, Probably correctly, they definitely
have a beef. If you beatthe other team one oh six to eighty,
(01:11:10):
like Minnesota, did you never letthe refs get into the game.
Nope, Nope. Good point. It's a good point that we doing today,
Fellas. This is Jack over here. I'm just reflecting looking outside on
this rainy day about how a corporatesellout, and it's got me thinking,
if you could trade your job straightup for a Red's World Series in a
(01:11:31):
Bengals Super Bowl in the same year, are you making that deal right now?
No, because I don't know whatelse I would do. Yeah,
it's tough to answer. I loveI love my job, so probably not.
Oh surprising how bad Minnesota to beDenver. I mean, I am
on the Minnesota train, but tosee Denver go down that bad at home
(01:11:56):
as something else? Right? Thereferee helping the Knicks out again. It
seems like the Knicks get a lotof help in the rep ferees. Oh,
hopefully the Reds get back on track. Tonight, Frankie M Franky,
thank you, Tony Austome George ofthe Valley. You guys mind talking about
(01:12:18):
the punter situation a little bit.You think they're gonna add another veteran or
you think it's just between those twobecause when you look at the stats,
they're almost identical. So my fearis bad Robbins will be our punter again
next year. What are your guysthoughts on that. I think they make
it a true competition. Hard tosay in May if they'll bring in somebody
else, we'll see where some ofthe pieces fall, but I do think
(01:12:40):
it'll be a competition. So fellasgets in love one year Tuesday. You
may be able to hear the rainpellets dropping on. Oh we hear them.
Not looking good for the Reds tonight. But on the bright side,
it means they can't lose, soanother off day might not be the worst
thing. Tony Jamal Murray throwing thathot pack on the floor last night and
(01:13:02):
brings a new meaning to feat.Heaths got to be suspended. Nuggets are
out of the series anyways, Gookay, see go Cleveland and not great.
Hey, guys, mark us fromthe groove, My Birthday week has
not turned into a good one thusfar. Broken down car yesterday. Was
(01:13:24):
supposed to do the old fashioned doubleheadertoday with the Xavier baseball game taking on
the Kentucky Wildcats. That's not goodeither with the Reds game, but Kentucky
got canceled. It looks like theReds will to Hopefully things get better and
Reds get off the schneid and westart playing some playoff baseball. Let's go,
Marcus, been there before. Allyou gotta do is just try her
(01:13:45):
again tomorrow. I keep having dreamsthat my car is breaking down, that
I'm like driving it and it goesout on and that's not fun. So
you say running back the running roundrepresenting Natty out here in sunny zone.
Man, I missed my city, don't miss the weather, Yo and JB
Nasty King of the Jungle, jthe whole city listens. Yep. It
(01:14:08):
overshadowed everything I was thinking about. The rids for talkback. It is what
it is. The King is back. I love it. The King is
back. You see, get TonyPike in the ring, get him in
a ring of Hunter Cincinnati stand up. We represent it. Ronnie ron is
starting to get to the point wherehe says the same thing every day.
Yeah, but he's pushing for meto get in the Ring of Honor,
which is more than Montgomery heading downto Florida to pick up my son at
(01:14:31):
college and bring him back tomorrow.Lovely as well with you, guys and
Austin. I just wanted to saythank you for screening talkback Matters guy.
It's very much appreciated. You're welcome. Thank you, Presidential thought. Talk
back Matters guy is the guy thatblames his waiter and tips him because the
chef messed up his food or something. No self awareness, my gosh.
(01:15:00):
Yeah, Mark Sheldon, thank youso much for your time. Thank you
for all the insight and everything youoffered. But on your way out,
don't let the door hit you, buddy, because you said Frankie montass.
You know, around these parts wesay mon toss, oh take a hike.
Oh damn. I didn't even catchthat, man, I didn't even
catch that. On business well, mid city mailman here downtown. Hey,
(01:15:29):
I don't think the Reds are playingtoday. You see a mailman, stop
and thank him. Okay, allright, thanks mail man? What what
mail man? Hey? What's up? Guys? Shut I appreciate Curs Mayfield
and it's a shock a con fromJacksonville. Really do appreciate you, guys,
(01:15:49):
shut out, thank you. Unbelievablethat the last bumper I played was
Touch the Sky, which is aKanye West song. So I don't know
if that's what he was thinking aboutor what, But yeah, Tony,
you wanted to tell us about something. Sincey Shirts is doing well, Cincy
Shirts has their warehouse sale coming up. Austin pop up sale to pop up
(01:16:13):
sale from our friends at Cincy Shirts. It is at the Essex Studios.
Come on now, it's gonna happentomorrow through Saturday, ten to four,
talking ten dollars T shirts Austin warehousesale Wednesday through Saturday ten to four Essex
Studios. Go be there and bea part of it. Right there it
(01:16:34):
is and we are done with talkbacks. There it is h We'll be back.
Phone lines are open five, one, three, seven, four,
nine, fifteen thirty, we willfinish the rest of Joe Burrows press conference
to kick off our number three aswell on ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station,
a service of our good friends atCinty Shirts. When I'm not in
(01:16:54):
Studio. I'm either out for freeshow at ESBN fifteen thirty dot com.
Welcome back Cincy three sixty ESPN fifteenthirty Cincinnati Sports Station. A service of
(01:17:19):
Cincy's shirts where from Tomorrow to Saturdayat the Essex Studios they have a warehouse
sale that is happening where you're gonnaget ten dollars ten dollars T shirts.
We hit on this with Mark Sheldon. I want to spend a minute here
on this Austin with the Cincinnati Reds. I've heard the name Jazz Chisholm a
(01:17:41):
lot today. I hadn't heard itmuch before that. You threw the name
out Pete Alonzo. There are playersout there that have value on their teams
where the teams aren't going anywhere. And you look at where the Reds are
right now and where the Reds aretrying to get to or the goals of
where they're trying to get to,and I feel like, in that sense
(01:18:12):
you kind of come to a crossroads. And I don't think that crossroads is
here yet, and neither did MarkSheldon. You talked about maybe you know,
sometime before the deadline, but notright now. But in that sense
is there something that you could seehappening with this Reds organization or this Reds
team that would push them to becomebuyers or to try to make an acquisition
(01:18:39):
like that you brought up to markthe Padres acquisition, and maybe the Marlins
are in cell mode already. Isthat a viable option for you? If
you're Nick crawling the Reds. I'mnot sure what you just asked me.
What could you try? Could youframe that again? Is what a viable
(01:19:00):
option? An option to make atrade to go to a team that does
not have hopes of winning this year? Maybe again like the Marlins it's been
a terrible start, or the ora team out there that's not going anywhere
this year that is in the modeof saying, you know what, it's
time for us to start building forthe future. It's time for us to
(01:19:20):
acquire younger talent. It's time forus to stop paying a lot of money
to a guy that maybe even he'sproducing, but our team's not going anywhere.
It's just not a right business move. Here are the Reds a lot
of young talent, a lot offree money, and aspirations that aren't being
filled yet. When it comes toexpectations. Is this the best time as
(01:19:42):
any if you're a Cincinnati read todo that. Well, I think it's
something you have to consider. Andbased on Gordon whitt Meyer's reporting in The
Inquire earlier this week, Nick Kralhas talked about the fact that he has
been having conversations and I think hewas asked about, well, that Marlins
Padres trade and if that could signalmaybe an earlier start to some of these
(01:20:09):
moves being made, and Nick basicallymade it sound like, yeah, we've
been having a lot of conversations,we're constantly looking, but we just haven't
made a price match up with someone. And I think you know what Mark
said about the fact is they don'thave a lot of people at Triple A
right now that could come up andbe big league players. I don't know
if they have a lot of peopleat Triple A right now that teams would
(01:20:29):
necessarily be going after in a dealmaybe further down the line. But how
much are the Reds willing to tradethose assets coming up? That I think
is the interesting part. So yeah, I think there's always the right time
to be looking and searching to makingyour team better. But even if that
(01:20:53):
feels like the logical move. Idon't know that you should necessarily expect the
Reds to make that because how manytimes have they done something that we just
leaves us scratching our head. Yeah, so that's more my point. If
if this is something that the Bengalsor the Reds just don't do. Historically,
we've talked about this, you know, in years past for the Bengals,
and then they go out and theydo something that maybe isn't how you
would have expected the Bengals of oldto run things. Isn't that the same
(01:21:15):
conversation that we can start having aboutthe Cincinnati Reds in that sense? Well
maybe, I mean, if youlook at the last several years, they've
been very active at the trade deadline. Now last year not as active as
people wanted them to be, butthey did go and acquire Sam Mall the
last couple of years before that,or the reason they are as good as
they are right now, it's becausethey were able to go and acquire people
(01:21:38):
like Steer and Strand and others. So, you know, it's funny.
Before the start of the season,it felt like we very much had faith
in Nick Krawl in the direction thatthis team is going and now all of
a sudden, we don't right.And I don't know that, you know,
getting young players in here that exceededlast year in the big leagues and
(01:21:59):
now all of a sudden and arenot playing as well. I don't know
that that's necessarily the fault of NickKrawl, but I do feel like he's
done a great job of acquiring talent, and I think he would try to
do that. But I think he'svery stubborn because he knows prolonged success is
the goal, not just a flashin the pan. And again it comes
back to balancing how much do yougo after right now and how much do
you go after later? And itseems like, you know, he's one
(01:22:24):
of those guys who very much valuesthe depth he has in the pharmacist.
Yeah, the value is there,it's just last year at this time,
when the offense would struggle or playerswould struggle, the easy response would be,
well, when's Elly coming up?When is Spencer Steer? There was
so much young talent. That's notthe answer this year, And those guys
didn't come up until later in theseason. True, So you know,
(01:22:45):
ento this month and the beginning ofJune's when we started to see them,
so all right, but I thinkexpectations are different this year than they were
last year. They are, butdoes that change what you really have?
Well, I think it would changeif if they were inclined to make him
becauselast year and their back pocket allyear was when we need to we're going
to go down to the farm system, We're going to get all these guys
up there. They don't have thatthis year, correct, So if you
(01:23:08):
look at the timeline of when theydid that, it wasn't necessarily this early
in the season. It was stilla week or two from now. And
we've talked about it, the twentyfive percent mark in the season. The
quarter mark is forty games. That'sanother five games from now, so another
week basically down the road when you'rethinking about games, maybe a week and
(01:23:29):
a half, and maybe if theycontinue to struggle against the good teams that
they're going to face, maybe thatmakes more Nick Nick Crawl Moore app to
make one of those moves. Sure, we heard Mark say that this organization
doesn't have a panic button. Ibelieve him, but I do think that
they probably look around and say,Okay, we've reached this point. And
(01:23:49):
Mark kind of said this too. We're going to really start to evaluate where
we're at and what we can doto move forward, because they're still very
much in the conversation. Here's ourshortcomings, here's what our data is telling
us. How can we improve? Is it go after a guy like Jazz
Chisholm. I love that idea.I don't know that it's viable because Miami,
it just sold off their best hitterand was a team that was expecting
(01:24:13):
to contend this year, has hadtheir four best pitchers go down to elbow
injuries, and now they have torebuild, and so they're going to try
to get as much as they possiblycan in return. Sure to flip that
rebuild really quickly in time with allthose guys coming back from elbow injuries.
So are the Reds in a goodposition to get into a bidding war with
(01:24:33):
other players or with other teams inthe National League or across Major League Baseball.
They're probably not in as good ofa position as they were a year
ago, and you have to takethat into consideration. One hundred percent.
Let's break, let's come back. We'll put a bowl on our number two.
We'll look ahead to more. JoeBurrow and company in our number three

let's go, let's go. Bigthings happening for the Cincinnati Reds. Let's
go. Hopefully they play a game. Hopefully they play a game tonight.
Probably won't. Probably won't, butAnyWho, even if they don't, we'll
update you if there's a lineup out. But for now, Joe Burrow spoke
(01:27:09):
to the media today, we didn'tget to play at all the cruise past.
TJ. Friedel Well, we gottaget to Joe Burrow. Well,
I mean, just as we've beentalking for two months now about well,
these three guys aren't in the lineup. Well now one of them is it's
good to have TJ. Friedl back. We can talk more about it later.
I hope TJ. Friedel can getback to the same role in which
he played last year for the CincinnatiReads, or maybe even more. I
(01:27:30):
hope fred hits four to ninety.Hopefully he provides the spark in the leadoff
spot and the spark in the lineupthat this team so desperately needs. Before
any of that happened, though,Joe Burrow spoke, and where we left
off was Joe Burrow being asked aboutwhere he is with working through his recovery
right now. Yeah, it's allthe above. There's there's always going to
(01:27:54):
be some pain when you're coming backfrom from injury throughout the rehab process.
That's something that you just have tobattle through if you want to come back
from injuries like these. This isn'ta minor injury by any means, So
you know, I've been through itwith my knee. I know the pain
that that is involved in the processeslike these. I've been through it before
(01:28:15):
and we're kind of towards the endof this now, but we're gonna continue
to improve throughout the off season. The risk has good days and bad days,
just like the knee did. We'restill we're still pretty early. We
still got a waste till the season. So we're gonna make sure that we
give it the breaks that it needs. We're gonna be smart about it.
But on the days that I'm feelinggood, I'm gonna go throw or I'll
(01:28:39):
keep that. I'll keep that tomyself. But whenever, whenever you have
an injury, there's gonna be somepain in spots talking about it in the
regular season. But you've been asked, is that it is a non star
different players if you don't take thatin Yeah, that's definitely something that we've
we've thought about. You know, eighteen games is definitely a big ask.
(01:29:01):
That's that's not easy. Adding thatextra game. Obviously it'd be great for
revenue, but I feel like addingthat that bye week, if you're going
to have the eighteen games schedule,is pretty critical for our bodies because if
you keep that first buy week andthen you know some teams have the buy
week, five week six, andthen you're going twelve thirteen games in a
(01:29:25):
row, that's that's not easy.Probably a Thursday night game thrown in there
too. So that's that's never easy. So those two buys are are pretty
critical. Maybe you could do somethinglike the first buy is kind of how
we have it now. In thesecond buy, everybody has it at once,
and you make it like the ProBowl week or something like a like
an All Star break for the NBA. I don't know. People with that
(01:29:48):
get paid a lot of money tohave those discussions and make those decisions.
But uh, we'll see how itplays out. Injuries you've been for have
plenty of people have been through them, you know the template. Has this
been more challenging because it's something kindof nat There aren't a lot of people
that have gone through this at yourlevel before, and makes a little bit
(01:30:09):
more of the unknown a little moreunknown. Yeah, Yeah, definitely.
It was kind of flying blind throughoutthe beginning of that rehab process because I
mean I hadn't I haven't found anyquarterbacks that have had this before. The
guys that I have talked to havebeen you know, offensive lineman, defensive
linemen, linebackers that didn't have tohave that risk mobility, mobility and the
(01:30:32):
little intricacies of the risk movement likeI do. But you know, Nick
and Matt have I really done agood job of making sure that I get
that motion back, and our rehabhas been been lights out. So I've
been excited about that, and I'mexcited abou where I'm at. What's you're
understanding kind of what the remaining risksare with them, you feel like you're
(01:30:53):
comfortable with what those are, orknow what those are, or as the
points that you're looking forward to tofeel good about that. Yeah, I
think most of those points are behindus. You know, we're kind of
at the end of the six toseven months that this is gonna take and
so at this point it's just aboutgetting ready to play football and it'll continue
(01:31:15):
to get better. You know. The the knee was cleared after nine months,
but I didn't really start to feelnormal until about a year out,
So I imagine this is about howthat's gonna gonna feel. Fortunately that coincides
with the beginning of training camp startof the season, So, like I
said, we'll see where it's atwhen when the time comes, you never
know. But right now we're ina good spots thread. But that's a
(01:31:40):
question for you. When the firstget you guys, Yeah, I always
look forward to that, you know, that's kind of the last step of
you know, getting ready to tohead into the season and knowing what you're
about to face. So we'll see. I'm excited every year that comes out.
We'll see and you're I would liketo change that here in the office
(01:32:02):
or wouldn't just help Lucky all theschool? Yeah, he's been great so
far. Like I said, we'rereally early. We're just start now starting
to get to know each other inthat kind of way. But you know,
the working relationship relationship has been greatso far. Trade request or people,
Yeah, I wouldn't. You know, those guys that have their their
business that they need to take careof. I support them in every way.
(01:32:25):
You know, both those guys haveearned everything that's come to them in
more so, Uh, I'll supportthem all the way through it. Whatever
they feel like is best for theircareer, that's that's for them and their
agents and their families to decide. But uh, we're here to win football
games. I really hope both thoseguys are here with us next year because
we're better football team with both ofthem. And they're both great locker room
(01:32:46):
guys too, so they're gonna dowhat they gotta do. But when the
time comes for them to come back. If that time comes, we're gonna
welcome and welcome them back and hitour stride and storing train were how how
much you looking forward to this?I mean it was the first time you're
going with everybody, Rob Crees andall that sort of playing rock. How
(01:33:08):
did go? I mean New presashfire was where you will put the ball
with the last year and yeah, that's something I'm still working through. You
know, the consistency isn't quite whereI want it to be yet, but
there's definitely flashes of of getting better. So I'm I'm excited about that.
The next step for me is justthe continued uh drive for consistency for throw
(01:33:32):
in, throw out, full workevery single snap. So that's that's something
I'm still working on. But NewXAM and the city's run the last year,
why they were the last team standing. What did you take away from
last year? Yeah? They weregreat. Their their defense was one of
(01:33:53):
the best in the league. Theyhave great players on that side of the
ball, and then obviously they gotPatrick and and Travis and their own line
and those playmates, so you know, they're they're the gold standard right now.
Everybody's chasing them. Obviously they're backto back World champs. Uh,
somebody's got to knock them off.I'm hoping it's us being one of the
most challenging. As for you, what's been your why through those days where
(01:34:15):
it's probably been campaign, you know, if you wanted to say yourself,
your work down and your rehab, what's been challenging that they should do this
whole problem? Yeah, that's thatpart has never really been a problem for
me. You know, I've alwaysbeen able to get up and go to
work and make sure that I'm gonnabe where I need to be to perform
my best. That's my why isalways just continued continuing that drive for greatness,
(01:34:45):
continuing that drive every day trying toimprove. You know, I'm I'm
addicted to getting better and that feelingis that feeling, there's nothing like the
feeling of getting better because that thatmakes the day to day really worth it.
Once you start to see the resultsof the work that you're putting in,
(01:35:06):
It's there's nothing like that. Andso that's that's really what I'm striving
for every day. And the schedulecomes out, people are gonna be looking
at that first month and to sad, what do you think somebody can get
turn in the past, but thelove the guy puting one. Yeah,
I need to first off, tryto be out there for training camp,
(01:35:28):
get as many reps as I canwith the guys. I'm gonna be smart
about it. You know, ifI need a break, I need a
break. The risk maybe is gonnahurt sometimes, and I'm gonna be honest
and with myself about how my body'sfeeling. Maybe a little more cautious than
I have been in years past.So that's kind of been a something that's
(01:35:49):
been on my mind for the lastcouple of months, and so I'm I'm
getting better at that. It's alwaysa challenge to to not push yourself in
that way, but I'm growing andlearning every year, trying to be a
pro and trying to figure out howto best be available for my team when
your teams go Yeah, that's alwaysyou know the goal you want to jump
(01:36:14):
out and be six and oh that'sthat's not always how it goes. You
know, We're going to continue toget better every day during OTAs. Then
we're gonna come out and training campand strive to be better every day.
I think that's all that you cando. We're going to be have continued
focus on each rep day in andday out, and you know, the
results will take care of themselves.I think, you know, the beginning
(01:36:38):
of the season. I think we'veshown, you know, the last couple
of years that you can always comeback from it. We'd like to get
out to a good start. Ithink that's always the goal. But if
it doesn't happen, that doesn't meanthe season's over. So however the season
plays out, we're going to continueto adapt as a team and get better
each day. All right. Sothere is a lot to take from from
(01:37:00):
Joe Burrow there, pick apart anyany bit that you want. The the
conversation of the internal drive and andwhat dry that's just a a very good
peek behind the curtain that you reallydon't often get with Joe Burrow. He
usually keeps it just on the field, so really informative. There good stuff
from Joe Burrow. And if youwell, if you match that with what
(01:37:26):
you saw on the football field throughtoday's workouts, I think Joe Burrow is
in a really good place. Obviouslyhe declined to you know, mention the
pain where it's at right now,and it tightens up overnight a little bit
that's expected, but mentally really soundslike he's in a good place physically,
not only with the wrist. Ifyou look at videos, you can visibly
(01:37:46):
tell how much bigger Joe Burrow looks. Yeah, I think the thing that
stood out to me was that he'snot necessarily out of the woods yet cleared
for everything except contact obviously. Buthe was asked does it hurt when you
throw? And he said, I'mgoing to keep that private, which to
(01:38:06):
me screams yes, it hurts whenI throw. And he doesn't want to
just openly say that. And Iunderstand why and and you know, to
the extent of you know, we'vetalked about a lot with the Reds injuries
where a player will play and thenthe next day the recovery doesn't feel great.
We heard that with Nicolodolo earlier inspring. So maybe that's you know,
(01:38:28):
at the point where Joe is atand that's part of the rehab process.
It's going to continue. And soyou enjoy seeing all these videos and
he looks good and he looks solid, but also understanding it's may we have
a long time to go until Julyand September and August roll around. So
I do think that they should continueto proceed with caution and when everybody feel
(01:38:51):
like, oh, he's going tobe great, it's gonna be sharp,
He's gonna be wonderful right away, maybe he will be by the time training
camp runs around or comes around. But to me, that's what said out
the most is certainly not out ofthe woods yet. Sure, all of
that I believe is fair with JoeBurrow, but I do have one request,
(01:39:11):
and Moager brought this up on Twitterearlier. If there's one thing the
Bengals can be better at, it'show they handle their interviews, whether it's
Mike's to pass around, whether it'sMike's kind of set up throughout where the
media sits. It's it's so muchmore valuable to hear fully the question that's
(01:39:31):
being asked and not just part ofthe question or try to formulate what the
question is by the response. Yeah, I think it can be helpful to
them, It can be helpful tothe players, can be helpful to the
fans certainly, certainly people like usas well. So I hope that that's
something they take into consideration. I'msure that Mo will make fun of that
a lot. Today he has PaulDanner Junior on the other alternative would be
(01:39:54):
to have people like Paul scream theirquestions, which you speak up? Part
of me kind of wants to seethat. I mean James or Peen talks
like this when he asked questions.Yeah, yep, So it'd be nice
if maybe he would speak up.Charlie obviously is very good. Dan Dave
lapham Is is usually pretty good DanHorde. But need you folks screaming if
(01:40:15):
they're not gonna give you microphone?Yeah, let's go excitement. Joe Burrow
spoke today. Let's get it thereall right, let's take a break plenty
more. Still ago Joe did seemto be in a pretty good move.
He did. There are times whenhe's up there and you can just see
on the body language wants nothing todo with it, and that would get
(01:40:35):
old too if you were him,I'm sure. But today today he looked
was a good day today. Ilike the way that Jeff Hobson said it
yesterday on Bengals dot Com. JoeBurrow threw and the sun rose once again
and bangled them man so well saidwe got plenty more to go. Molag's

Loegar, We've talked about this alot. He's got what you want,
(01:41:19):
Like, who's the go to guy? Gonna be interviews, his views and
your calls. Go to guy, isn't the team's leading school? Loegar Today
at three on ESPN fifteen thirty.Hey, it's Roger Moore. CNN C
three sixty is back on ESPN fifteenthirty, Cincinnati Sports Station. Welcome back
(01:41:48):
since he three sixty ESPN fifteen thirtyCincinnati Sports Station. Thanks to Penn Station.
You know, it does feel maybelike the dog days are over Austin
mention. We mentioned earlier the returnof TJ. Friedel to the Cincinnati Reds.
We mentioned earlier Frankie Muntass returning tothe Cincinnati Reds now about an hour
(01:42:08):
ago, at this time it waspitch block outside. Now it's clear outside,
and I would imagine within the nextcouple of hours it will be pitch
black again. That is the expectation. Bust on the weather professionals. But
if the Reds were to play agame tonight, we do have a Reds
lineup against Zach Gallon, We suredo. Zach Gallon, of course started
(01:42:32):
for the National League in the AllStar Game last year and was a huge
part of the Diamondbacks success. Well, he's got to deal with this buzz
saw tonight. Come on. Here'show the Red Legs line up. Leading
off, playing center field, TJFrale put him right back up there,
batting second to shortstop Eli da Cruz. The third batter is the left fielder,
(01:42:53):
Spencer Steer. Tyler Stevenson bats cleanup. He's the catcher. The
DH is the fifth batter. JakeFraley, Christian and Carnassi, O and
Strand will bat sixth and play firstbase. Jonathan India will bat seventh and
play second base. Jamer Candelario willbat eighth and play third base. Will
Benson will bat ninth and play rightfield. Frankie Muntas makes his return on
(01:43:16):
the mound once more. For Cincinnati. It's Freedol De la Cruz, Steer
Stevenson, Frayley, strand India CandelarioBenson with Muntas on the mound. Does
it not feel crazy how one playergetting back into the lineup makes the lineup
(01:43:38):
feel so much more complete? Man, no weight on his shoulders whatsoever.
But this lineup today, it justit just reads better. Yeah. This
is all the regular people that theywould normally have in a lineup against the
left hand or against the right handedpitcher. Frayley, Benson obviously, day
La Cruz, so you know. And Candelario is the switch hitter as well.
(01:43:58):
So this is what it was supposedto look like, if not for
injuries and illness. Yes, throughthe first couple months of the season.
Here we are moving in the rightdirection and a half i should say,
not even moving in the right direction. Are the Cincinnati Reds. Let's take
a couple of phone calls here.We got a couple of minutes. Mike
is calling in. What's up,Mike, Hey, Phillis, you did
a wild and crazy show today. All over it, Mike, We're all
(01:44:21):
over the place. Yeah, it'sbeen quite a challenge. It sounds like,
but a good job. A goodjob, hey Ton, I've been
wanting to ask you this for along time before I get to the NBA
and the Reds wal course. Well, if you had to list Joe Burrow's
attributes and his weaknesses, what ifthere are any weaknesses, what would you
(01:44:45):
how would you categorize it? Ithink his best attribute is his accuracy and
timing, because I think if youlook at the bottom end of what he
doesn't do really well, he doesn'thave the most explosive arm, he doesn't
have the strongest arm in the NFL. But the those weaknesses are made up
for by his timing, by hisfootwork, his understanding of what the defense
(01:45:06):
is doing and therefore where his receiversare going to be. His timing is
exquisite, and his ability to beso much more of an athlete than what
I think people give him credit for. Not to be an athlete and run
although he can, but to bean athlete and extend the play, uh
and then keep his eyes downfield andmake a play down the field. I
think are so many things on thefield. And then his leadership and locker
(01:45:28):
room presence, understanding the game froma mental standpoint all kind of put him
over the top. Okay, thanksTon. So if the game's canceled tonight,
which it certainly looks like it willbe, will the will the d
Bacs lose? Will they pitch ZackGallen tomorrow? Do you know? Or
will he just get scratched in andmove on with the rotation. I would
(01:45:50):
imagine that the starters would just carryover to tomorrow and everyone would get pushed
a day back. That's how Iwould assume it would happen. Okay,
I hope not. I hope countingsomething. Yeah, sure, But I
didn't get to see the odds. Were we the dogs tonight? Home dogs?
There you go. I haven't havechance to look at it. I
was just getting ready. Thanks Ton. Absolutely that NBA game went. Here's
(01:46:15):
what I gotta say to you, mogar your you scored three points off your
bench last night. Do you waryourselves out with that? With that six
er series? Yep? And thatthis this uh Indiana team's about ten or
eleven deep. And I'm just afraidthe Knicks mos Nicks, not my next
his necks are gonna run out ofgas before this thing's over, I really
(01:46:39):
do. Yeah, I wonder what'sin the tank because I thought the Philly
series as well took a ton outof them, and they don't. They
just don't get the bench production. So, yes, you win game one?
Does that Does that affect them ina negative way because you go all
out to win game one and youhave a little bit of a comeback there
late? Does that change at all? Now? How this team can play
(01:47:00):
and what the rest looks like toGame two, three and four, especially
if it would go seven, Mygod, they got to be dragging.
Sure. One more thing. Ikeep going back to the Guardians because they
keep blowing my mind. Now they'reeight and pitching and thirteenth and hitting,
And I'm looking at the other fourteams that are above six hundred winning percentage.
(01:47:21):
The Phillies are five and five pitchingand hitting, Dodgers nine and one,
the o six and six hit, hitting and pitching, the Yankees three
and twelve. And there's those littlesneaky Guardians at eight and thirteen. It's
amazing to me. Why don't Iwatch what they're doing because they're doing the
right thing evidently. Yeah, theylose Shane Bieber early in the season for
(01:47:43):
the season with a Tommy John injury, so those numbers could be even enhanced
when you think of how good ShaneBieber has been for the Cleveland Guardians.
But one of the better stories tostart the season. I think people are
waiting to see. Is it sustainable. It's a division where as good as
Cleveland is been, Minnesota's right there, the Royals are right on their tail.
So Al Central is a good division. I think it's a slept on
(01:48:05):
division. But you certainly have totake note of of how the Guardians have
built what they have. Thanks lookyou too, thank you. What do
we want to take another car?Do we need to break Austin? We
can take another call a right, let's get to John Michael. Hey,
John Michael, how are you?Hey? Kenny? How are you doing?
Good Man? How are you?Oh Man, I'm doing fabulous.
(01:48:28):
I'm sorry I didn't call in afterthat that that eclipse thing. It's okay,
that's I knew you were probably busy. Well, I'm uncle Alie.
I got drunk. I had noidea what I was drinking, it,
said Sonny Dean. I didn't knowit had bok it. You know this
day or night did you. Ihad no idea, man, especially when
it was like translucent or you knowthat thing that you guys said, yeah,
(01:48:51):
yeah, yeah, that blue toothman. I took that stuff one
time. Man A swallow it toofast. I got real stiff next And
then I was thinking the other day, not the other day, but you
guys just just talking about little leagueplayers and stuff like this. We had
this kid on her little league team. His name was the Jerius and he
(01:49:13):
had like a big hand and alittle hand, so we used to call
him Clock. And then I justfound out the other day. I just
sat up the other day that he'suh, he's he's doing. He's really
successful building boats inside of bottles.I have no unbelievable. Yeah, it's
weird, man for everyone. Butdo you guys think about people with skinny
(01:49:39):
lays wearing baggy shorts. I thinkit looked like a like a toothpick.
Wh it's like an umbrella, andyou're it just looks dumb, nothing worse,
nothing worse. I just feel badfor him because they don't know.
Yeah, well about the guy withthe little hand though, man, I
mean he's the kind of guy hecould pick your lock without a library card.
(01:50:00):
John, This is something John putme up through my stick dand my
sick dance. Yeah, we toldyou, We told you. Fifty dollars.
Man. I was running around thehouse pat my my button stuff.
My mom was like, what areyou doing? I said, hey,
baby, we wung derby. Whatdo you What are you going to spend
(01:50:25):
your money on? John? Idon't know. I think I'm gonna get
some T shirts with some stuff thatI like that says stuff on it,
Right, John Michael, did yousee I'm not going to buy one.
I'm definitely not gonna buy one fromCincy Shirts that has me on it because
you guys have failed me. Well, did you see? John Michael?
You can come up with your owndrawling now, take it to Santy Shirts
and they'll put it on a shirtfor you. There you go. I
(01:50:47):
know you like to draw. Ido I like the colors? Consider right
now? Yeah, let me letme ask you something John, John,
you were talking about people with realskin legs wearing baggy shorts. How about
you? How do you approach youknow, when somebody is maybe not your
(01:51:10):
best friend, but someone you looselyknow, but you know them a decent
amount, but they have really reallybad style. How do you navigate that?
John? But just go up tohim and say, hey man,
you're dressed like a dork. Howabout you figure it out right? I
mean, do you get like Ialways ask him straight up. I was
like, either you get dressed withno mirrors in your house or you put
(01:51:31):
your clothes on in the dark.So we need to figure this out.
Okay, go to American Eglewood.People still go to American Eagle. Is
that a thing? American Igor acounty seat that used to be a denim
place at the mall where I usedto go to when I was a little
boy, and stuff like get itfigured out or just tell them, hey
man, don't skip legg day.Honesty is the best policy. You're saying.
(01:51:55):
And I think I think I thinkI'm right there. I just talk
to somebody. I think I'm stillin a podcast. Okay, really yeah.
I think it was a gentleman cameup to me. I was I
was at the Lows in the lawnof Garden and he was like, oh,
you sound like that guy from fromthe Sincy three sixty And I was
like, yeah, that's what's hesound like. I don't sound like Mark,
(01:52:16):
do I He's like, no,you sound like Tom Michael. I
said, oh man, I can't. Yeah, that's me. How are
you do you want me to?Are you doing mom's right now? Mean
mother's face coming up right? Andhe's like, you should do a podcast.
I'll give you like one hundred dollarsto get a microphone. I said,
well, what about the other equipment? What do I got something out
of pot And then he's like, yeah, but I can tell you how
(01:52:38):
to do it. So I thinkI'm gonna do a podcast and we'll talk
about weather and plants. Two questions, John, Why were you in the
lawn and garden section at Low's Aand B. What are you getting your
mother from Mother's Day? Oh?Okay? So the first question I was,
I was I work at the loads? Oh okay, Yeah, So
(01:52:58):
I was. I was doing waterand I was doing water in plants and
I was trying to move some ofthose paperstones and stuff. But I needed
help because it loas we have todo team help. This one guy who
can live like two at the sametime. I'm just I'm not a very
strong person, you know what Imean. So I had to get help.
Listen this one and the guy andwe we had a conversation and that
(01:53:18):
I just told you. But whenI'm getting my mom from Mother's Day,
and this is she's always wanted todo this. She's a big fan of
the Wizard of Oz. So Igot us. We're gonna go up to
chili coffee and we I got herWe're gonna do a hot air balloon.
(01:53:39):
Oh wow, what a great idea. Wow, Well be careful of that,
John, yep. And I'm gonnamake a lunch that she likes.
She likes bron Schwagger and cheese,So I'm gonna have that. So hopefully
we don't get too close to somewhereit stinks. And I give you credit
because I don't got the guts.No, I wouldn't be going up there.
(01:54:00):
Yeah you said you don't want toget too close to the sun.
Is that what you said? Yeah? Yeah that yeah right, yeah,
yeah yeah. We got to comeon my podcast and talk about some stuff
and be like, hey, JohnMichael, wait if you make us a
T shirt, well come on,deal my mind. I love you,
(01:54:25):
love you to mid man. Ijust never miss us. Good to hear
from John. He didn't want toget too close to the sun to make
the tea smell. I mean hewas a yeah, three or four man.
He was going. I mean thatwas like Nicki Glazer at the time.
He just didn't miss what it was. Just what do we do now?
(01:54:46):
We are we coming back with? Are we going to do a touch
and just take a break? Alright? Sent three sixty. We'll see
what happens when we get out whenwe get there. Thanks to Penn Station

two third round picks in the twentytwenty four NFL Draft, the Bengals selected
a wide receiver whose production and skillsare impressive, but whose character has come
into question. Jermaine Burton averaged overtwenty yards per reception last season for Alabama,
(01:55:30):
and he led the Crimson Tide inreceiving yards in each of the last
two seasons. Burton started thirty ninegames across four seasons during a college career
that began at Georgia and not onlyis he lightning quick, but he has
great hands, finishing his last collegeseason with zero drops. There was an
incident while Burton was in college wherehe swung at a female Tennessee fan during
(01:55:53):
a field storming postgame celebration, anddetractors will point out that Burton attended six
goals across the last eight years. But the Bengals insist they've done their homework

three to sixty thanks to our friendsat Penn Station on the home of the
Bengals ESPN fifteen thirty, Cincinnati SportsStation. From the any whether he's heating
(01:56:41):
is was looking for Moe not here, can't find him. You know,
we're late, Austin. We're twominutes later to yell for him. We're
two minutes late. Moe's not inhere. It really makes me wonder.
Mackie said, he's coming, makesme wonder what he's got going on.
I know it's Tuesday, which Iknow means uh, normally that's Paul Danner
Junior day. D Yes, ideally, hopefully Reds are playing baseball at six
(01:57:02):
forty tonight. I wouldn't hold mybreath on that one. No, and
uh in the association. As longas you've ever held your breath, I
don't know. A couple of lapsin a pool. Really, yeah,
used to have some high functioning lungsthen, yeah, lung capacity is huge.
But I would imagine there are folksthat they're gonna be holding their breath
to see if the Reds can playa baseball game tonight. If they do,
(01:57:24):
TJ. Friedel's back lineup looks moreformidable now than it was. He's
here just twenty four hours ago. What's up, mo? How are we
doing? Guys? A little hungover? Huh? This is this a Nick
hung over from excitement last night?I was excited. I was very happy,
very happy young man Nick's win.Nick survived there it is man.
(01:57:45):
Uh, eleven more wins, Yeah, and we're good to go. We
had a caller ask if you wereconcerned about the lack of bench production in
the amount of minutes that the Knicksare playing, did they listen yesterday,
because that's the central theme of theseries. If I'm a Pacers fan,
I feel really good because, Okay, last one last night got away and
(01:58:10):
the officials made an impact on thatgame. I feel good. We have
the deeper team. We were ableto negate New York's really primary offensive weapon
that's not Jalen Brunson, because theyslowed him down on the glass and they
got the game played at their pace. Indy wants to play fast. If
you're the shorthanded Knicks, who basicallyhave six guys plus my man Duce McBride,
(01:58:33):
who I'm not really sure you counton for anything offensively, I feel
really good. If I'm a Pacersfan, We're gonna have games played at
that pace every other night for twoweeks. Let's go. So I'm disappointed
that my team lost, Sure,I'm frustrated that got an unfriendly whistle,
But the advantage we knew Indy hadrose to the surface last night. They
(01:58:55):
took away New York's primary advantage. They had no answer for Jalen Bryce,
but that's okay. No, whenthey got the Knicks to play at their
pace, I feel really good ifI'm a Pacers fan, which made getting
the win last night crucial because ifyou lose that game, if you're the
Knicks and all of that went againstyou, Yeah, whener of game two
wins a series, speaking of anuphill climb, Minnesota Timberwolves, man have
(01:59:16):
put Denver in a I've never seen. That's the defending champs, that's the
back to back MVP. They lookpedestrian. Game one, You're like,
all right, maybe it takes alittle bit to get up to that.
Sure. Game two at home,no, Rudy Gobert. One of the
most dominant postseason games I can rememberwatching, especially from a defensive side.
Game two down one, defending champgets worked at home worked. How many
(01:59:41):
times in NBA playoff history has thathappened? I can tell you it was.
And to me, it was somuch more about Minnesota and not so
much about what Denver couldn't do.And I sort of felt like watching the
postgame press conference with their coach MichaelMalone, I kind of felt like he
felt the same way, like,I don't know that we can do anything
about this. Ye, that Minnesotateam is just a machine. Burrow spoke
(02:00:05):
today, Yes, Red's line up, hopefully they play with TJ. Friedelback,
Frankie montas back, and I'm assumingPaul Danner Junior. What do you
got on the show to Connor Cablestoo, Yes, I forgot I had
that written down. So, uh, Danner won a lot of different things
Bengals related. Figuring out the pressconferences. I'm gonna make this my new
(02:00:25):
crusade perfect. If we have tocarry these press conferences. Can we find
some way to hear the questions?Remember we often said about the Reds last
year that they're ahead of schedule.Okay, has the schedule caught up to
them? Not the schedule they're playingright now, which is also tough.
Yeah, has the schedule caught upto them? We're going to explore that
(02:00:49):
question across the course of three hourstoday. As we get said for Reds
v. Diamondbacks tonight, we aregoing to have some of the Joe Burrow
audio. I thought one of hisanswers was quite interesting. We'll spend a
little bit of time on that anduh so much more love it. Maybe
Paul and them could just yell louder. Sure, maybe we'll ask Paul if
(02:01:12):
he can do that. There's nothingquite like that, shout out your question.
There's nothing quite like listening to thepress conference and for the first bit
of the answer, you're still tryingto decipher what was asked, and then
you kind of miss a little bitof it. It's just I watch a
lot of press conferences sports, andotherwise they're they're just they're showing I'm a
big press conference guy. They're shownon television all the time, and usually
there's some mechanism that allows the vieweror the listener to hear the question.
(02:01:35):
Yes, it's an important part ofthe it's a Q and a right.
What's the point of not hearing thequeue? Like Joe Burrow answered one question
today, he's like, well,I'll just sort of leave that to myself.
Well, what right? What wasthe question yourself? There's a lot
that's pretty open ended, and sofor the proper context, we need the
questions. Why do the Bengals refuseto allow us the opportunity to hear the
(02:01:59):
QUI question? Great point, Let'stry to make some money here, Haya
generates. It's time for lots ofthe Night presented by Cincy Shirts. Visit
either store in Hyde Park or onDixie Highway in Fort Mitchell, and always
online at Sincey shirts dot com.Now let's make you some money, all
right. We talked a little bitoff air. I think this Dallas Oklahoma
(02:02:21):
City series is going to be fantastic. I don't know that Cleveland can win
this series, but I'm looking attheir matchups during the regular season on the
road in Boston, Cleveland lost byseven, they lost by eleven. They
beat Boston at home. Here comesthe first number in the playoffs at twelve
and a half. It's kind ofthe adage of Boston had more time off.
(02:02:41):
Does that hurt them or help them? Versus Cavs team that had to
go seven games that numbers twelve anda half, Oklahoma City three and a
half? Anything else you like tonight? I like Calves total team or team
total on ninety eight and a halfpoints, Okay, like Luca to go
over thirty one and a half. And I'll take a flyer on Dallas to
win the series because I think it'sa pick them. But they're the road
team, Okay, so there's alittle bit more value on that. I'm
(02:03:02):
with you. I think Dallas beatsOklahoma City. I think it goes six
or seven games. I think it'sa big game one. It's a young
team in Oklahoma City, next roundof the playoffs, Veteran Luca, veteran
Kyrie who's playing at all time levelright now. I like that MAVs team.
I think they get off to agood start and they win Game one
as a dog on the road tonight, and I think PJ. Washington is
(02:03:24):
the X factor. Yeah, it'sa good point. It's a good point.
You know, they made a dealat the deadline. They just got
a bunch of guys that could catchlob passes. That's a pretty good move.
Because Luca, once he gets intothe paint, he's He's one of
those He's a unicorn in the sensethat every time I watch him, I
still can't figure it out. Notthe fastest, right, not the most,
the most explosives, whatever shot hewants, Yeah, great passer.
(02:03:46):
I cannot figure him out. ButI love watching this. By the way,
for today's show, a Reds tradesuggestion that has been floating around the
office. Yeah, a lot ofsuggestions that I really like that. I
really really like that. I wishI could take credit for I like it
that I really like, but there'sa problem, and I'll tell you what
the problem is. People like liningup on the door and while we're talking
(02:04:06):
what, I don't know what's goingI feel like I'm playing about the officiating
last night. You think I'm introuble, you might be. They're waiting
for me to leave the room. You know. I used to have an
on air partner, Yeah, whohas recently been in the news. That's
how they got him. Is therea security guard? Show ended, and
I'm like, man, there's alot of people kind of hovering outside the
door. I get out first andthey're like, oh no, we don't
need to talk to you. Andthen yeah, suddenly the next day it
(02:04:29):
was a one man show. Myproducer once got fired during a show.
Oh it was great. Yeah,it's fun. Long line, Moe's long
producer line, long blue line. We're done. Tony Khan joined the show
to appreciate that. Appreciate Tony Kahnthanks to it, wearing the neck brace
(02:04:49):
as he talked now about it.Thanks to Mark Sheldon and everyone else.
Callers, listeners talkback, their sponsors, have a great rest of your Tuesday.
We'll do it again tomorrow. Mowagger'sNo right here on the SBN fifteen
