Seven, twenty three, now hereon Houston's Sporting News. So evidently there
will be a Biden Trump debate,uh one in June and one in September,
one on CNN, the other oneon ABC. But wait, there's
more. There are conditions. JackBurley joins, us reporter at the Washington
Examiner. I know one of themis that Biden doesn't want an audience.

(00:20):
Why do you think he's scared ofhaving an audience? Jack? So,
Yes, the Biden campaign has saidseveral conditions that they had for these debates.
One of them was, of course, no audience. The Biden campaign
has said that they claim that audiencesare not good for debates, They cause
a spectacle. But concerns could alsobe that, you know, Trump loves

(00:42):
to play to the audience, Heloves to try to get last, he
loves to try to get a reaction, and as opposed to you know,
maybe policy debate and so forth, the Biden campaign might not want that audience
reaction, potentially swaying an audience.Yeah, audience reaction also a lot of
witnesses to what actually transpires there. He also wants a mute button so that

(01:03):
Trump can't interject himself. Or reactand talk over him when he's giving a
response. That's what they say.Do you buy that too, Yes,
So this was an issue back intwenty twenty. During the first debate,
there was a lot of interrupting.Chris S. Wallace, who was the
moderator, did not have a lotof control over the debate, and it

(01:23):
was very messy. And the Bidencamp really wanted a mute button on the
mics. I believe they did getthat in the second debate, and that
was something the Biden campaign was veryupfront about this time, saying they wanted
enforcement of the rules, including mutebuttons on the microphones. And I remember
another issue back in twenty twenty wasthe Biden campaign was upset about the Trump

(01:48):
allies kind of not wearing the maskas much around. That's not gonna be
an issue this time around, ofcourse, but back in twenty twenty that
was, and they had outlined intheir letter to the Commission on Presidential Debates,
who normally organized the debates, thatthey were upset about the lack of
enforcement of the rules. According tothem, the other thing Biden evidently wants
is it's not what he wants,is what he doesn't want and that's RFK

(02:10):
Junior. Yes, So that wasanother thing in this letter. So yesterday
the Biden campaign said they didn't wantto go with the regular debate commission,
and that's why these debates will beheld directly on CNN ABC. They wanted
to. They may very clear theywant a one on one debate. I
believe the Trump campaign also wants aone on one debate. They don't want

(02:31):
RFK Junior on stage. And withthe rules and the traditional commission, and
actually with the rules for the CNNand ABC debates, there is actually still
a chance the RFK Junior could makeone of the two debate stages. In
other words, it's not really adebate, it's a controlled show and not
letting Trump be Trump and making surethat everything is weighted in favor of Joe

(02:54):
Biden. So who's going to bewatching this debate? Because Trump supporters,
they know what Trump like, they'renot going to want to watch this.
Well, traditionally, the debates bringa lot of undecided voters, a lot
of the swing voters, a lotof the people. You have some people
who are firmly in each camp whowill watch it kind of cheering on their
candidate. But a lot of thesepeople who are genuinely undecided going into November

(03:17):
will probably tune into these debates. All right, Jack, thanks for joining
us. Appreciate it. He's areporter with the Washington Examiner, that is, Jack Burley
