(00:00):
Way seven twenty three is time herein Houston's Morning News. So today's the
day that Michael Cohen will be testifyingat the Trump trial in Manhattan. This
morning, the gal analyst Dunham Bilesjoins us. Done, and welcome back
to Houston's Morning News. I wouldthink if you are the prosecutor, the
most difficult task you have is tryingto turn Michael Cohen into a credible witness,

(00:20):
given his past and giving his givenhis convictions. That's an amazing thing
about this case. This case, the prize witnesses for the prosecution are porn
star and a man who has beenconvicted and is out. Both of them
have been posting that they're out toget Trump. That's not the ideal case
for a prosecutor. I would thinkthat the defense is going to point out

(00:44):
that Trump signed a check that wasmade out to Cohen, his lawyer at
the time, and how is thatnot a legal fee. I'm sure they
will, but most of the time, I think they're gonna go directly after
mister Cohen and his public statements andother things where clearly he wants to get
Trump and that that's going to hurthis credibility. Not to mention that he

(01:06):
was convicted, admitted to a lyingto Congress and other things. Well,
we certainly know the way this courthas behaved and is likely to continue to
behave in this particular case. Butit's not about the judge, and it's
not about the prosecutor. It's aboutthe jury, right it is They're the
ones that ultimately will will decide thefate of this case, and let's hope
they get it right despite some ofthe ruins from the judge, who has

(01:27):
managed to seemingly let in all sortsof evidence that should not have been admitted.
In my opinion, you know, sadly this is if he's found guilty,
he will appeal, but it's withinthe state of New York. This
is not something he can go tothe Supreme Court on. So a conviction
and a criminal conviction against the presidentfrom a very biased judge in courtroom and

(01:51):
jury, is there any hope thatthere's justice in the state of New York.
I have hope. I have hope. One I try cases to juries
and I know that they do taketheir oaths seriously, so I have I've
hoped that the jury will sort throughthis and see it for what it is.
But that said, if not,I do have hope in the public

(02:12):
court, because it seems to methat we have errors being made by the
judge of just the type that thisthat that Court of Appeals has already already
seen, already ruled before, isnot acceptable. So we will we will
see. But I have hope.I still have hope in our system.
Okay, I don't know if you'rebetting, man, but if you had
to put ten bucks down on whoends up winning this case, where's your

(02:34):
money going to go? I'm goingwith Trump. I'm I'm a little biased.
I don't look, I don't seeyour case here. There isn't the
case. This is, this isthis is not a real crime at the
end of the day, just likein the Senator Edwards matter, surely one
could say that one of the motivationsfor all of this was to protect his

(02:54):
family. His own personal reputation hasnothing necessarily to do with the campaign.
So I put my money on Trump. Still, is this your jury sequestered?
I've never heard anybody reporting on that, you know, I have not
heard anybody reporting on it either, which makes me think that they are not

(03:14):
well. I wonder that one hundredthousand people gathering their next door in New
Jersey does to affect the overall atmospherearound them. Yeah, you know,
I'm sure, if there aren't aquestion, I'm sure the judge gave them
these destructions. We always need toignore all those things and so, but
it would be a little hard toignore that there were one hundred thousand people

(03:38):
supporting Trump in New Jersey of allplaces. No kidding, all right,
don good to talk to you.Thank you, sir. Appreciate it that
it's legal, endless Dunham Biles itis, seven twenty six
